The George in North Somerset

we stayed here for one night prior to an early flight from Bristol. the place is very appealing, staff, food and atmosphere was lovely. room, was lovely too, and great value for price. easy enough to find, and a stones throw from airport. will definitely be a returning Customer, and highly recommend. we were made to feel very welcome, staff were lovely!

Excellent stopover for Bristol airport

Really nice. Arrived during the pub quiz and had to wait a while for my food but otherwise very good room and facilities with friendly folk.

Stayed overnight in this amazing place the room was amazing the pub itself old world but really lovely with an open fire Would reccomend it to anyone one of nicest overnight stays I have had

Convenient for proximity to the airport. Good solution for a short stop. Clean room but without window or wardrobe. Very welcoming pub, good food and very friendly staff. An authentic place that deserves a stop.

Stayed here with my wife for 1 because of an early flight from Bristol airport, the airport is literally a couple of minutes up the road. The room was clean tidy and comfortable. The bar was lovely and cosy the drinks were reasonably priced and the food was lovely. Would definitely stay here again .

Lovely pub and food. Great staff and very handy for Bristol airport. The only downside is if you stay overnight in the rooms and you're downstairs you will be able to hear everything from the upstairs rooms if they are checking out ultra early. And only because it's an old building. But I would highly recommend

Stayed overnight for an early flight, the room was clean with a good breakfast left out ready for the morning. Friendly staff and great food in the restaurant. Friendly locals who created a nice atmosphere. Would certainly use again when flying from Bristol.

We stayed here twice - the night before and the night after a holiday. The location is really helpful if you're using Bristol airport. The room was cosy, and the breakfast packs provided are a nice touch. However, we stayed in the same room both times and it suffers from a terrible drains smell. After our first night, we put it down to a one-off issue that we assumed would be sorted. But when we stayed again two weeks later, the smell was still there. It definitely smells like a sewerage issue and seems to be coming up the plugholes in the en-suite shower room. But it makes the entire bedroom smell too and is really unpleasant. Unfortunately it put us off ever staying here again - despite the good value and helpful location. We didn't try the restaurant so can't comment on that.

Lovely Inn. We had an evening meal, which were good size portions. We stayed over, and the rooms were well equipped and comfortable, but ours did not have a window, so there was no natural light or fresh air. Avoid room 7 if this is an issue for you.

Pub close to Bristol airport , lovely food , great prices , they also have rooms available to book if needed especially handy if flying , can see the planes landing from the carpark , and outdoor seating , food started at 5.45 pm when we arrived pub opened at 5pm

A pub restaurant lost on the south coast with cuisine worthy of a Michelin star!!! Who would've believed that !!!!

Nice pub, basic but tasty food. Room was compact and clean. A nice touch was the breakfast tray which was well stocked with juice, porridge, fruit, pastries and biscuits. The rooms are very close to the beer garden so expect to hear some noise from that. The walls are pretty thin so can hear neighbours moving around but nothing too noisy occurred during our stay. Very convenient for the airport being only a few minutes drive away. Very good value for money.

Nice old pub with plenty parking, had fish and chips, probably the best chips I ever had, would go back just for those chips lol

Stayed the night before flying out of Bristol, the room was great and the food in the pub was great! 4 minutes drive to the airport and they even provided porridge and pastries for breakfast which we weren't expecting, excellent value!!

-Cosy -Book a table if you can, my husband and I walked in for dinner and had to wait an hour for our meals because they had larger groups in and make the pies fresh -Vegan local rosé available -Vegan food options -Vegan pie was ok to nice -Staff are friendly but also a bit stressed and rushed off their feet due to being busy

Very historic country inn. Really friendly staff. Excellent food. Rooms exceeded expectations. Really good complimentary range of products. Excellent en suite facilities.

Nice local pub near a campsite we were staying at. Didn't have any food but a large group of us with kids rocked up for an hour and had a lovely time. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Sadly disappointed as the reviews were very positive. We had an unreasonably long wait taking into account the number of customers in at the time. They did apologise for the delay. Did enjoy the Butcombe, a cracking pint!!

The girl behind the bar was super helpful to me, they really went above and beyond to accommodate me after I arrived quite late. I can't recommend this place enough, I would certainly stay again and recommend it to anyone flying out of Bristol airport.

Overpriced, awful food and terrible service. I was unfortunate enough to stay here before a flight, we asked if food was still being served as it was 9pm when we arrived and was barked at in response that they were really busy and wait there. Eventually they returned and seated to be told that it would take a while to serve us. When the food arrived it was tragic, a burger covered in lettuce that had been boiled by the meat, the proportions were totally wrong 80% lettuce and a burger the size of a chicken nugget. My wife had the curry which was swimming in water due to the rice not being drained and don't even get me started on the Aldi flatbread and humous that was served, it was so stale it could be used as a seat. Absolutely the worst food I have been served in months.

Plenty of parking, lovely home made food (the small fish & chips is plenty unless you are very very hungry!!), very quaint cute very old building - Americans/Canadians would love it. The building is higgeldy piggledy with lots of small nooks and crannies, though they did have spa e for a couple of large parties if booked in advance. Seemed popular with locals but we popped it after picking a relative up at the airport in the evening. Only a mile or so from Bristol airport so good location.

Came here on the recommendation of friends. We arrived late due to a delayed plane but the managers still served us dinner. I quickly tasted 2 burgers which I would define as more than excellent.

A perfect start to your holiday. One mile from terminal at Bristol Airport Brilliant room ensuite with an amazing lunch box containing 4 cakes, two fruit, two porridge, two fresh juice. All in a pub that has a restaurant, I've booked this several times and it is first choice for quality and value.

Lovely bit of grub here. Will definitely come again.

Stayed here with my wife for an early morning flight. Literally minutes from the airport. We had a nice meal the night before and wrlcomed the lovely log fire. The accomodation is clean and there is pot cereals there for those taking early morning flights, which was ideal. I've also called on 2 other occasions when flying from Bristol. I'd rather have a pub meal than be ripped off at the airport. The landlord and his wife are very friendly as is the daughter (barmaid)

What a delightful way to start a vacation. Monday nights are quiz night, we were advised in advance that food service ended at 7.30. The bar is a lovely cosy place for a drink regardless.

Excellent Sunday roast, friendly little pub

Hired a room for the night before a flight from Bristol. Lovely clean, comfy room and I was really impressed with the tea, coffee and snacks supplied. Had a couple of drinks and a meal at the pub and was treated nicely by the friendly staff and I enjoyed the meal. I will use again and would highly recommend. Very good value for money!

We stayed for one night before our flight departure. It was absolutely perfect. Room was warm and inviting also well stocked with teas, coffee and simple continental breakfast. Airport less that 5 kilometers away.

Very cosy atmosphere and a roaring fire. Food was great. Service was attentive and really friendly. We stayed in the attached accommodation for ease of flying the next morning. We will definitely visit again

Lush little pub with rooms , spotlessly clean rooms with a little food hamper and juices , bed so comfy , oak beams in room , cooked dinner was amazing , staff lovely , happy hour from 4pm till 6pm very nice fire lit aswell , deffo be back .

Fantastic experience! A wonderful pub with an authentic and ancient atmosphere. Nothing cheap and standardized. Fireplace lit, candles lit, great food, excellent beer. I was there with my son, the next day we would leave from the airport: an evening to remember. Thank you. Highly recommended.

Excellent food highly recommend

What a lovely place. We walk the short way to the George and Dragon in order to get something to eat and drink. I can say that the meals we had were nicely presented on the plate, and both our plates were cleared. It's fair to say the meals were wonderful, and we liked the touch of how the chips came as we have not seen them anywhere else where else. Both the kitchen and bar staff were very good.

5 + mins from the airport. Our room was quite small and there was evidence of some flooding recently. Arrived too late to eat / drink. Free parking available.

Just excellent. The Sunday nut roast was outstanding, the cask beer perfect, and the welcome and service from the staff faultless.

Pulled in to carpark to meet friends traveling from other direction as agreed to meet here for a meal and catch up then to the lakes after whilst I was a few minutes before them I had someone come out asking if I was waiting for airport telling me I'm on camera and will get a ticket if I'm there for 10 minutes I have learning difficulties and am autistic so communication with someone I don't know and unexpected ain't good for me I said I was waiting and meeting someone here and tried to explain and kept being told I would get a ticket so with me that experience was to much and I wouldn't have enjoyed staying after that so I contacted my friends who was currently coming over the cattle grid just up the road telling them I didn't want to stay here and wanted to go somewhere else I left from carpark as my friends was passing and we ended up going somewhere else for a meal which was a shame as food looked good in pics I have seen but I felt threatened so wouldn't have stayed after that and unfortunately would likely never come back as I hold negative experiences on my mind

It is very clean! It is arranged and combines history with the comfort of modern times. Everything is exactly where you need it! I felt very good! As for the staff, all respect! Thanks for the nice stay!

Was nervous about the unknown….but, what a warm and welcoming place. We arrived, not really knowing what to expect, and the lady behind the bar was so friendly to us. We also couldn’t believe how clean and comfortable the room was. We stayed in family room 1 and the beds were so comfy and soft. Can strongly recommended this as a great place to stay right next to the airport (3 mins drive). We’ll be back!

Visited the George and Dragon with family, for my nephew's birthday. The surroundings were quite , and homely , and staff friendly. The meals were fantastic. The portions were generous , and at reasonable prices. As for the chips , 'wow' , very tastful and cut I can only think with a different chip cutter , perfect chips!! This is not relevant for us , but as Bristol Airport is just up the road , travellers would be wise to visit before or after their trip. Will we be visiting again , definitely!!

Stayed here for an early flight the next morning. Lovely pub with lovely rooms. Pleasantly surprised at having a selection of breakfast items in the room, such as porridge pots, pan au chocolat etc at no extra charge. Would definitely recommend.

Great little pub. Brilliant local atmosphere and the food was proper decent pub food. Whatever they do with their chips they are a winning recipe. Room.was immaculate and a great spread for is as we had an early start. We'll worth the visit.

Before our flight the following day visited the George and Dragon early evening Friendly Warm Welcome , Delicious Hearty Meals would definitely visit again. We walked down the lane , which was a little dangerous, got a Uber on our return. Definitely worth the visit.

We have stopped here on several occasions for cake and coffee before going onto Bristol airport waiting area to pick up relations coming to see us.

Great pub, nice rooms to stay in. Staff were fantastic.

It is very good, it is very comfortable and clean. It has a very complete breakfast in the room and it is great if you are staying overnight and arrive late. We walked from the airport. And it took us 20 minutes. There is only one section that is darker if it is at night.

We went there whilst waiting for a flight to arrive. What a great country pub, friendly and welcoming with good beer and food. Exactly as a pub should be. And only a mile or so from the airport.

The room was perfect just to get our heads down before the early start we were provided with a kettle, porridge posts, tea, coffee and biscuits. We ate in the pub for tea - fabulous food and at a reasonable price. We’ll definitely be staying here again.
