Typical thwaits decor, didn't expect much from the food. However the food was fantastic. The cauliflower cheese was unreal. Abit too much cumin on the cumin potatoes though. Completely took away the taste from the pulled beef on top of it. None the less, I would 100 percent come here again.

Birthday meal with my family , all I can say is the chef must really love to cook with salt , even the chips were coated with loaded salt , rice salty , it just spoilt the food completely, sorry have to say won’t be returning just not for me.

Food is delicious and always hot. When busy at peak times food can take a little while to arrive due to being cooked fresh. Service is always fab and the pub has a great atmosphere

We came here as a group of 5 the last week of March. It was our first visit for me and my husband. A mixture of the small plates (which does not mean small portions) and specials - we had a right feast! Everything was lovely, hot and delicious. My husband and I decided to come again tonight 10 April. We came earlier to allow us time to get back for the football. It was pleasantly quiet but fairly busy outside with it being a pleasant evening. We had a couple of small plates and shared a curry/rice. Really tasty and delicious. A bit too much for us to finish as we were reminded, the small plates are big portions! Do give this place a try. I feel if it was nearer to, or in Boothstown/Worsley, that it would be rammed. I'm not complaining though!!

Friendly service and excellent food. The idea of an Indian gastropub is unique to the area and one that I absolutely love. It appears to have an excellent balance of pub regulars and people just wanting a few drinks, as well as those out for a meal with friends and family. It creates a nice lively atmosphere. This venue also appears to have no issue dealing with parties/larger groups of people. Doing so with a smile. I have not noticed any delay in our foods arrival or quality as a result of larger groups dining at the same time. Which is something that I often find in other places. The food is excellent and provides a unique offering of Indian fusion foods such has a madras buttermilk chicken burger and a naan-za (essentially a pizza using naan bread) as well as your traditional curry house offerings such as my favourite, a vindaloo. The food is also fairly priced and the portion sizes are generous. This venue also offers some very nice unique cocktails especially when made by the lovely lady with glasses, who I assume is one of the owners (sorry for not knowing your name). I always put something to improve in my reviews. In this case, elements of the decor that have remained the same since the takeover, especially the bathrooms, need a revamp. It's a minor criticism but worth noting. Given that this is also our local, we will most certainly be visiting again. PS: regardless of why you're there, get the masala chips. They're great.

Interesting fusion of Pub, Indian Restaurant & Small Plates - It works! Visited here with a friend who lives locally, who hadn’t been since it ‘changed hands’, perfect place for the post work pint & quick bite to eat, but equally couples, friends & families were all enjoying this place! The service was quick and food was flavourful, with complex spices that really satisfy your tastebuds. We had a selection of things from the ‘small plates’ menu and shared, to sample new things - a great choice of Lamb Tacos, Loaded Chips, Spinach Pakoras, Chopped Salad & Garlic Naan - A range of crunchy, fresh, soft & spicy things that all delivered on both taste & texture. Lots of tables to choose from, note the table number & order at the bar, food is delivered directly to you, freshly cooked and with a smile - a great venue. Bar Area is dog friendly too!

We can't rate this place enough! Would urge anyone in the Tyldesley area who has not yet been to book a table. Some of the tastiest food we've had in a long time, mixed with a relaxed atmosphere. We had the Valentines Menu and every course was amazing 👏🏻

The chicken tikka was way to spicy and it didnt taste-anything like it! The bag it delivered in was dripping in curry. Even the mint sauce didnt taste like mint. Over priced NOT happy!

We were a little dubious on arrival as the outside of the venue looked a little unkempt and the windows were very dirty. We were seated as we had made a reservation, and were shocked to see food scraps from the previous evening still on the table and the floor around the table had obviously not seen a hoover or brush from the last diners (which was the previous day as we were first in at opening). We cleaned the table ourselves and decided to stay as we had heard positive things about the food. I have to say we are glad we stayed and gave it a chance as the food was outstanding. Every dish we ordered was not only delicious but portions were great. We are not sure if the cleaner had not turned up that day or it’s something that needs to be looked at especially as there were areas of the venue which needed some attention, including the cleanliness of the gents toilets, but the food was amazing and you can’t take anything away from that. Just a shame the cleanliness let the overall experience down.

Really really impressed. Great food choice with 'small plates' meaning you can order tapas style, with the loaded chips being a twist on the traditional curry and chips offer. You could tell the food was freshly cooked and tasted fresh too. Great value too. Oh and the choice of pub music was spot on wanted to stay longer!

We enjoyed our visit very much. Brilliant mix of British and Indian food in a cosy pub atmosphere. Great music too. Highly recommended!

Absolutely amazing. We had the platter which was so much food. The food was amazing quality and the mac and cheese bites were everything. I wish I could bottle up the butter sauce as its to die for!!!

Had the Christmas sharer, it was fantastic they mac and cheese bits the best ive ever tasted, the tacos 🔥🔥 everything was spot on, only criticism the chicken wings could of done with being more charred, that bowel of curry sauce needs to be bigger as well 😉 we definatly recommend this place and for £45 for 2 its a bargain. We Will 100% be back

A lovely afternoon with friends, all had the sharing board, very nice but couple more dipping selection of sauces would be nice! Michelle made us feel very welcome and recommended us the lamb chops, which were 10/10

The food is stunning. We’ve been a few time and ordered different dishes every time and never had a bad meal. And Michelle working front of house is a pleasure. She goes above and beyond to ensure you have everything you need. 10/10 all round!

Our first time here and we have loved it. We got a few starters so we could try various dishes and it fid not disappoint!! Michelle and the rest of the tram6were wonderful and the service was really quick.

The worst meal I’ve had in a long time. My starter was popadoms the onions were swimming in oil, yogurt was a green salty offering. I got the chicken tikka burger. Dry and tasteless I didn’t eat it very disappointed ☹️

Had a really good night. Food and atmosphere was brilliant, with really pleasant staff. Charlie the waiter couldn't do enough for us, and was always there if we needed anything.

Seen this place and gave it a try..we ordered poppadom and dips..poppadom were fine..the dips were terrible. The yogurt sauce was like pure salt taste and zero yoghurt taste..the onions and lime pickle were swimming in oil..main 2 chicken tandoori burgers with bhaji cheese and chili burger sauce..no chili burger sauce. A smidgen of cheese and the rest was like chewing on the Sahara desert..the chips were great by the way..we eat out alot but the food seriously needs sorting out..shame as the pub had a really good atmosphere

Came on a Thursday, and the food was incredible. We had the nan-za, masala chips, prawns and a tikka masala curry which the chef changed to paneer for us. Really incredible food and probably the best masala I’ve had in a long time. Lovely service from Michelle too. Highly recommend!

One of the best meals we have had eating out, we had the platter. Left stuffed to the hilt, couldn't eat it all. Some very tasty concoctions to tickle your palate. Can't wait to return to try the christmas menu. Thanks for a memorable meal

My first time dining here, my family have been several times and always enjoyed the experience so decided to give a try, had the Sunday roast which was a unique roast dinner with an Indian twist. I highly recommend this place the food and the staff are great Thankyou Michelle for looking after us !!

Went here for my granddaughter birthday. The food was lovely.It did take a little longer than usual, we expected this due to being a larg party. The staff altho rushed off there feet & no doubt the chefs were also very busy. Were pleasant and polite. We had the korma with garlic bread on the side , cooked to perfection 👌, Thankyou so much to all the staff & the chef for the service. Would recomend

I had a terrible experience at Ale and Aloo recently when dining with family and felt compelled to leave a review. Myself and my wife ordered a jalfrezi and butter chicken for our mains which were very disappointing and tasteless. I informed the head chef that the butter chicken tasted exactly like the jalfrezi we ordered and that it was too spicy for my wife, to which he responded in an extremely unprofessional manner. His inability to accept any criticism was shocking; instead of addressing our concerns, he became confrontational. I simply asked for a refund since we hadn’t touched the butter chicken, but he flatly refused, insisting that if I knew curry so well, I should recite the ingredients of a jalfrezi in front of the entire restaurant for a reward of £100. It felt like a scene out of a reality cooking show, but not in a good way. Following this I was told to leave the resteraunt numerous times in front of other customer's, which was just embarrassing. It’s safe to say I won't be returning, and I suggest others think twice before dining here. Save your money for a place that values its customers and handles feedback appropriately.

Would not recommend visiting here! Myself and my husband visited with family for a meal, the food took 2 hours to come out and when it arrived it was very poor! The service was poor throughout the night, not enough staff were working which is not ideal on a busy Friday evening, no one came to check on our table or clear away any plates or empty glasses. I ordered a butter chicken which tasted disgusting and was spicy despite a butter chicken being a mild dish, upon advising the chef of this he became very defensive and said that a butter chicken is spicy depending where you get it from and that his food is the best Indian around! You should not be a chef if you cannot handle basic criticism! My husband asked for a refund as I had not eaten of my food other than one small bite, the chef was extremely rude and said to my husband “I don’t know what council estate food you’re used to but this is authentic Indian” this situation could have been handled a lot better had the chef been polite and professional, not rude and degrading towards customers! I would highly recommend that you go elsewhere and do not waste your money!

What a little gem! Family friendly pub, especially Sunday when they have kids corner on. But the food was exceptional. Not had something of this quality for an absolute age. If you’re a fan of an Indian and a decent pint pay this place a visit.

Great service as always I’d consider this my local. Family and dog friendly any time of the week. Amazing food and drink served by the best of staff you couldn’t find anywhere else in Tyldesley. Credit to the owners who have hit the ground running with a beautiful establishment. I’ve eaten here time and time again with either friends or family. The menu is always suited to anyone with any type of appetite.

Surprised by the flavours here. But based on good, hearty pub grub. The Madras buttermilk coating on the chicken burger is a star as are the Keema fries.

Some seriously good food on offer here at Ale & Aloo. I originally went in June to try the sharing platter and felt we put a good effort in but was too much food to finish on this occasion. Went again yesterday to sample the rest of the small plates from menu and everything was excellent, especially the keema fries. Worth noting they stop the sharing platter after 5pm on Friday and Saturdays

The food here is amaizing, they have done a great twist on Indian food. You can get your traditional British currys which taste really good. My suggestion would be to try some of the classic pub food with a twist they are really good. My personal favourites are the Naanza, Madras chicken tenders, Chicken Tika Kebab and the Butter chicken. There's a great selection of draught beers and spirits. 10/10 would recomend.

Lovely pub, the staff are so friendly and welcoming The food was amazing, a really good take on pub classics Indian style. We ordered the naanza and the sharing platter and it was delicious. Sharing platter would feed 3, easily !

First time at Ale and Aloo tonight for my partner’s birthday. Lovely, friendly service, with Michelle going above and beyond. The food was also tasty, hot and quick to arrive (even on a Saturday evening). The special Lamb ‘birria’ tacos were particularly good. Will definitely be back!

Great food, eat here most weekends would definitely recommend the sharing platter for 2 but it feeds 4 of us . Always greeted by very pleasant staff especially Michelle who works behind the bar very friendly and always smiling .If u haven't tried here yet I would go give it a go .

Delicious freshly cooked curry made and served with love and appreciation for its customers. A* experience from start to finish, I can't really say much else! I'd highly recommend the Chicken Vindaloo!

Best avoided. Also beware of the sheer amount of fake 5 star reviews. Most of these people have only 1 reviews to their names. Claims everything is fresh but this is untrue. Samosas rock hard, chicken tikka is not proper chicken tikka and naan breads are out of a packet. How can you call yourself an Indian restaurant and not have a tandoor oven? The drinks on offer are also limited and the guiness here is of a poor quality. Not cheap either for the quality. Batter on the Korean chicken was awful and the paneer was rubbery. If you're expecting decent Indian food don't come. The chips were laughably low quality. Cheap nasty oven chips. The keema start came with barely any mince as well. One to be avoided.

Amazing food! First time trying here. Food service slow when quite a quiet restaurant but appreciate it’s all freshly cooked. 100% heading back, just hoping food arrives quicker next time. Would recommend to anyone.
