AVOID if your a family or your face doesn’t fit!! Made to feel very unwelcome, kids should be out by 8 however it appears if your face is known you can stay as long as you wish. Bar staff extremely rude and will happily ignore you. Will now happily avoid and tell others too not bother either!! Highly disappointed.

Nice pub, tucked off the beaten track. Ham salad cob was nice and fresh. They are not on display, so you have to ask for them.

A special find for Newcomers, & a friendly nest for Regulars; slightly off the beaten track, with a great selection of very well kept Real Ales, run by lovely people. Just moments off the main A610 Awsworth.

A proper pub ,updated but still retaining the pub rooms. .. and an amazing range of beers ,and oh so cheap

Well kept beer and very reasonable prices

This has been a traditional pub for many years. The current owners Steve and Kim have spent a lot of time upgrading the building and outside areas. The area at fhe front is now a lovely seating area. The toilets have been relocated and the front room is now a light bright space. Always a good range of draught beers and lagers on tap. The pub has won many awards for its beers.

Great barman who explained lots about the different beers. A good range of drinks, dog friendly and chatty regulars, what's not to like x

The Gate offers a wide range of real ales with the option for ‘thirds’ if you want to try a variety without drinking too much. There is also usually a couple of lagers and a cider on tap. They do a mean Cheese and Onion cob too, perfect.

Great selection of real ales. Friendly pub. Great cheese and onion cobs, too! It's my go-to stop off towards the end of a bike ride. Highly recommend.

Love this Real-Ale pub. Friendly service and they offer 'Thirds' of a pint in case you would like to sample three of the wide selection of guest beers, ales and porters. Dog and Walker Friendly and right on the doorstep of some fantastic country walks.

Very friendly run public house always worth the visit

Called in on spec as my friend hadn't been here for almost 40 years. Lovely set railway photos and other things on display. We had a good natter with the lady on the bar and thoroughly enjoyed the visit. I asked if it was possible to get a coffee and was assured it wasn't a problem. Early lunchtime we were the only people in, but imagine it would be busier in an evening

Cracking pub! Whilst some of it looks a little dated, there's a huge amount of indoor and outdoor seating. Bar staff are super-friendly too.

Excellent range of real ales which are always well kept. Good range of gins etc too. Excellent atmosphere and always a good laugh with the staff and landlady. Only issue I have is the price, very expensive especially for soft drinks. £2.35 for lime and soda.

A lovely local pub and friendly owners. Was greeted very well and enjoyed a couple of San Miguel's in the outside seating area.

Good service and friendly staff

Set just away from the main road, The Gate Inn sits with a good old fashioned sense of great beer, staff and company. Very impressed with the skittle alley, really good fun, and not an electric plug in sight. Good selection of beers including some very local ones, lovely atmosphere, have every intention of visiting again in the near future. Music selection was not overly loud, and a nice mixture of different types, something for everyone. Good honest night out.

Kim, Steve and their staff always make us very welcome. They always give excellent service and are very well organised with a one-way system and tables sensibly placed etc. We look forward to seeing them again very soon.

It's quiet and out of the way, cheap prices too. If you like that sort of thing then go.

Landlord and landlady utterly miserable makes you feel like you shouldn't be there

Great pub, excellent selection of beers perfectly kept. Friendly couple run it. Only loses a star as the lighting is far too bright.

Good for real ales, large pub with plenty of rooms, friendly staff. They don't allow kids after a certain time particularly in the bar and lounge area. Prices are reasonable.

Excellent beer choice, unspoilt British pub

This place is run by a lovely couple who do a lot for the local community. They organise many events throughout the year. Two of which are mostly funded by them for the children. This pub is well worth a visit and more. They also have a bowling lane, darts and others pub games, quiz nights and more. I think that one of the biggest things for my neighbour is the real ale, it's an open house so they have guest beers etc. Atmosphere is great and they are constantly working on introducing new improvements and making physical changes to the pub, really looking great. They do an amazing amount of fund raising, they have literally raised tens of thousands for different charities. I have even taken photos of the thank letters etc for the funds raised. Well worth a visit, it's a cosy traditional pub, highly recommended by all that go on a regular basis.

If you like your REAL ALES then The Gate Inn would be an ideal pub for you. The bar is always populated with at least 6 real ales plus a selection of lager and cider. Steve and Kim run it as a pub and not a restaurant which is quite brave in this day and age but their success speaks volumes for how professional they are at what they do. Tuesday night is Steve's homemade quiz night replete with free snacks at half time. It's a homely welcoming establishment and I have no qualms about saying HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Lovely friendly pub. Every other Sunday there is Chris on the piano and guitar playing a wide range of music and everyone joins in singing! Great atmosphere. Very friendly people. Highly recommended.
