Great little pub, lovely owners, on average around 200% cheaper than the dump opposite!

A group of 8 of us ate here in the week. The welcome was lovely, really friendly. The food was delicious, all of us enjoyed our meals and will definitely be going back for more

It's OK. A lot better than it used to be. They do food now which they never used to do.

The gate never changes, one of the last old pubs in Redditch that's not had a "makeover" and painted the outside grey.... Why do they always do that?

Good traditional pub. Great choice of ales. Been coming here every now and then for 25 years. Almost seems out of place with other pubs nearby but certainly the better option for 40+ old drinkers. My only minor gripe on last couple of visits was unfairness around and after last orders. Was refused drinks (not drunk only on 3rd round, quiet bunch) while more regular punters I noticed were still getting served, they tried to do it thinking it wasn't noticed. Unfair, shame.

If you are a beer lover then the Gate is the place to go. Faultless beer consistently. A very traditional pub with knowledgeable and conscienceous staff. Any reviews that state otherwise are wrong!

I was there about 30 years ago and felt very comfortable. It's nice that this pub still exists. Continue like this ! Good snacks and nice people ! Too bad that many pubs no longer exist, similar here in Germany.

Local pub that serves food some days a week. The food I had was well cooked and presented but it is a one-man show so could be issues with waiting times if the place was busy.

Remembered this pub from some time ago. In the area again and went to find it. Unfortunately it is no closed and uo for sale.

Good beer, they know how to keep ale. The food is only available on every 3rd Wednesday and the place isn't exactly known for its customer service. Good reliable boozer.

How this place can compete with other pubs along the strip is beyond me it never seems to be open
