The Galley evening experience It's great news that The Galley is now opened until 9pm every night. It's always been a fun, intimate place to go with very good food for breakfast and lunch, so we couldn't wait to try the evening menu. We went last night for a bottle of wine and some sharing plates. The quality, quantity and presentation of the Welsh cheese platter and the Vegan Nibbler are all highly commendable. Everything on both plates was inviting and delicious - and there is so much of it, that we had to ask for a doggy bag! We did manage to finish the very good and well priced bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon though! The evening ambiance is lovely too - with candle light and great music, the place is transformed. but still retains the warm welcome and great service which is what we are always greeted with whether we go to The Galley, morning, noon or night!

Very tasty breakfasts. There are several options to choose from, smaller and larger. Good carrot cake and coffee. Place open only until 3 p.m.

Had a lovely brunch here a few weeks ago. Had a breakfast burrito and it was delicious. We came along quite close to closing time. They served us with quick service and were very friendly.

I've been housesitting in Penarth Marina for a week and found the Galley. I've been there every morning enjoying delicious takeaway breakfasts including their americanos and my FAVE today the Big Buoy Burrito - delicious! Really kind team at the Galley and a place I highly recommend.

I recommend this breakfast cafe, the food was so amazing, and the the staff was friendly specially with my toddler, one of them when my daughter stopped eating, she tried herself to feed her. It was a stunning experience

Eat here on the penarth marina outdoor seating and when its hit I feel like I'm in Marbella. Beautiful brunches from a locally run business.

What a gem of a place....three of us had brunch there on Saturday....avocado and poached egg on toast, The Deck Hand and a breakfast burrito....served quickly, freshly cooked and delicious. Nothing was too much trouble for the unassuming yet so attentive people serving....we'll be back for sure

I'm visiting my brother and his wife from England and they took me here for breakfast. We ate outside and the food was astonishingly good. Perfectly presented food, cooked amazingly and delivered by the friendliest of staff. The server even brought a treat for my brother's dog and asked permission to give it to him first, which to me showed how considerate the staff are there. This place ticks all the boxes, and the food is honestly immense.

We ordered pancakes, a burrito and a salad with toast and were very impressed with the taste! The food was beautifully prepared and the staff was extremely friendly. We'd love to come back :)

Just by chance as we were hungry and on the move I fancy something nice and warm. As we didn’t have time I just went for a take away and what a surprise when I opened the box!!!😋😋😋Fantastic presentation and the food was deliciously cooked too! One of the best smash avocado 🥑 with halloumi, excellent cooked poach eggs, with siracha sauce in a toasted muffin “Red Reign” I’m looking forward to go back and try more! The biscuits and brownies they looked very good. The lady on the counter very attentive. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Read a recommendation about this lovely place and thought we'd give it a try. So glad we did. Gorgeous little cafe, the food was amazing. Generous portions. Sort of food where you loved your choice, but then all the other choices looked amazing too. Super friendly, helpful lady behind the counter. She brought a couple of dog chews over, filled our water bottle etc. Would definitely go back!

Lovely little cafe hidden on the marina. Brunch was delicious and options of a proper coffee or beer on tap was fantastic for a Sunday. Staff were very nice and it wasn't too busy.

Excellent food and service with a smile. Only detail not quite right was the black pudding, too thin and dry, otherwise a great experience and good value.

Had the Kia breakfast (Salmon, Eggs, Avacado and Spinach). The food was excellent, as were the staff who were friendly and checked we had what we needed. We also bought a cookie and drinks. The cookie was good and wasn’t overly sweet. I would say the drinks are a little pricey at £3 for a Coke and parking is tricky in the Marina but otherwise this is a great place and deserves its previous awards.

Super friendly place with generous portions of tasty fresh food. We love the veggie breakfast burritos and nice coffee. And it's really dog friendly too.

First visit today , initially just going to have a coffee. Very warm cosy atmosphere as soon as you walk in. Warm welcome from the owner and very clean. Extensive menu at reasonable prices - until my brown bread tuna sandwich arrived. Then it became more than reasonable ! Thick slices of granary stuffed full of tuna , a proper sandwich 🥪 My wife had a tikka wrap , very spicy , very filling , both with a small side salad and washed down with a flavour packed coffee. All the ingredients are sourced locally. I will definitely be back to try their breakfast or brunch which looked great and no doubt will be delicious . A real gem of a cafe . Recommended.

One of my favourite places to visit when in Penarth. I always have the Captains breakfast and as someone whose had a few fry ups in my time it’s faultless. Every ingredient on the plate is of the highest quality, and also more importantly the tea pot is a genuine two cup pot! Friendly warm service from all members of staff adds to the experience. Really good value for money too. Adore sitting outside, chatting and people watching. Great way to while away some time!

6/5 if I could. Genuinely the best full english I've ever had in a cafe. All great quality ingredients, the egg was cooked perfectly, and the toast was just right. Ordered a cappuccino as well and it was an actual cappuccino, with the frothy milk you expect and not just steamed milk. The staff are all super friendly and welcoming as well. A proper gem in Penarth.

Only stopped off for a cuppa but the staff were friendly and there was a decent menu available. Will definitely return at some point.

Genuine, the most phenomenal place I’ve ever been for food, service and atmosphere. The food is always cooked fresh and served hot and delicious, furthermore your breakfast does not swim in grease. The owners are the most kind hearted people along with the other staff members. Nothing is ever to much trouble for them, and they always go above and beyond. I will never go back to my usual cafe. The pancakes are to die to for, they’re so fresh, soft and airy. Honestly I’d recommend this place all day long. My family and I are now new regulars. Their customer service is second to none.

Brekky ok. Got asked to move halfway thru my breakfast so they could accommodate a party of three. Thats a first me

Pretty disappointing! I had the goat's cheese salad. If it had been a starter or side dish it would have been reasonable but at £9.40 as a main dish it was sadly lacking in substance and style with minimal goat's cheese. But the staff were pleasant and attentive.

Cosy little independent coffee shop at the edge of the marina, with warm & friendly service. Good coffee, small selection of cakes but didn't try any food. Has a small outdoor seating area for warmer/sunnier days.

First, the good bits Friendly service. Lovely homemade cake. Now the downright atrocious. Ordered two flat whites with oat. Here's a new Award. Worst cup of coffee either of us have ever been served. Managed to drink half, and then both gave up as the experience was simply disgusting. To be charged eight quid is beyond words. If you enjoy a decent cup of java, avoid at all costs.

We had an amazing experience with the great breakfast, and good service. Although I belive the cost is bit high, I will definitely visit again.

We had a delicious breakfast in the café, and bought some amazing cookies and brownies to take away. The staff were really friendly and accommodating, and helped with seating my two children and accommodating the pram even though the café was really busy and full

5 Star 10/10 That brunch Was Lush! I would say an 11/10 because everything was fresh! Even the Bacon Was Smoked! The Sausages were Fresh Butchers! Frech Tomatoes and good value for money! I definitely Recommend! Very Friendly Staff !

What a fabulous little place with such friendly staff. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious 😋 my other half had to take a work call and had to go sit in the car for 30 minutes leaving me inside alone, the lovely lady behind the counter chatted with me and also offered to sort my partners coffee when he got back inside so he didn't have a cold drink to come back to! We both said in the car after we left how happy we came upon this place today after planning on going somewhere else! We will be back intentionally next time. Thanks for a wonderful brunch ❤

He was about to close and we were told, quite rudely, to go to Tesco if we wanted ice cream. They keep very early hours for a cafe in a visitor/tourist area

I came here with my family on a recent visit to Penarth and I was so happy with the amazing food and the wonderful service that we came back the next day. I find it extremely difficult to eat out because I have special dietary needs. My usual experience when looking at menus is, 'Oh what can I eat? I can't have anything on here!' However, I had a completely different experience at 'The Galley' because there was so much food that I could eat! It was all beautifully prepared and presented. I can't praise them enough. My family and I would definitely come here again, in fact it's the ONLY place we would recommend. Great food, great prices, great service. What more could anyone want?

What a great place for coffee and a light lunch situated at Penarth Marina. Friendly and efficient service. They serve probably the very best hot chocolate I've ever had, worth a visit for just that alone.

I went to the galley by the marina for the first time today. Had lunch but brownies looked so good, I got one to take away. Will definitely go there again. The owner was really nice and there were 2 other tables who seemed to be regulars and we ended up in a cafe-wide discussion which I'm not sure has ever happened to me before but was lovely!

Absolutely love coming here! Staff are so friendly and welcoming. Fantastic menu choices and every time I have eaten here, which has been alot, the food has been of the highest quality and delicious. Have had the breakfast, breakfast burrito and a selection of different sandwiches and melts and all have been delicious. Love the music and the brownies and cookies too and always take a brownie or cookie or two home. If you want tasty food and fantastic service this is the place to visit.
