The Gallery Restaurant in Stirling

The food is fabulous. The service is excellent. Everyone is friendly. We have been to Gallery Restaurant frequently and never been disappointed. Looking forward to our next visit.

We received a warm welcome from Chris and his team of wonderful students. 1) Warm, clean, comfortable, spacious environment with fab ambience. The background music was peacefulquiet classical music, very soothing. 2) Tables were a good size, plenty of space for items. They were neatly set. Tables were well spaced apart. 3) Good selection of beverages. 4) The food was of a high standard and good size portions. You could taste the care and attention in every mouthful. I chose the items from the vegan menu, my partner had food from the non-vegan menu. He loved his meal as well. 5) The last point (saving the best for last) is to congratulate the students. Nieve, Leah and the young lady behind the bar and not to mention the chefs - you did yourselves proud today ! Thank you for making our first lunch visit a very pleasant experience. Chris, you doing a brilliant job training the students. Looking forward to our next visit.

As a frequent customer, I always enjoy going to the gallery, especially on a Friday where the menu is typically given an extra special touch. The staff, mainly students, are always nice and easy to talk to (unless it is their first week, in which case a little shy and nervous, which is understable) The views overlooking Wallace monument are always picturesque. To summarise, you get more than what you pay for, which is a nice change!

Catering students cook and serve the food, supervised and helped by teaching staff. There are 3 options for each course, and cost for 2 or 3 course lunch is inexpensive for this reason. Everyone is eager to show of their best, and even if occasionally things go wrong, this has its own charm.

Really can't give this place anything less than 5 stars! What a great idea and good practice for the students who were so so lovely and nice. We went for the three course lunch. The starters were good but duck was slightly overcooked and the other was a tad bit too salty (this is me nitpicking). Everything else was amazing, the mains were perfectly cooked and balanced and the dessert (particularly the panna cotta) was perfect. Well done to all the staff 😊 I will absolutely be visiting again!

I had an excellent dinner here at a very reasonable price. Cafeteria prices, restaurant quality food and service. I'll be back.

Food was very good but could have been hotter, soup was warm not hot

I hope that this review is taken in the manner in which it is intended. A college restaurant where students in the hospitality sector show off their skills. Fair to say that the level of service you receive will be determined by the level of experience of the student. Food wise, we enjoyed a three course meal for lunch with coffee and mince pies to follow at the princely sum if £23.95pp! Not too shabby. A simple menu with 4 choices per course, the food was beautifully prepared and presented. Our only quibble was that my wife’s mash was quite cool. That apart, it was well portioned and tasty. Service - obviously some of the students are very new to dealing and interacting with the public. Can I offer some positive criticism: Don’t be scared to interact with the customer. Obviously this depends on the mood or manner of the diner. This will come in time. People enjoy eating out and part of the job is to put them at ease. Smile! It’s amazing how a cheery face can brighten the mood and put both diner and assistant at ease. Ask , after a discreet interval, if all is satisfactory. But don’t predict their reply will always be positive. Be ready to accept a query or a negative response so that you can react accordingly. Find out as much as you can about the dishes on offer , the drinks etc. you won’t know everything, but be prepared for such questions and do some research beforehand. You are the link between the customer and the and the restaurant. Of course all of this will come in time All in all , a lovely clean place with good food on offer at a reasonable price. Well done.

On arrival greeted well and taken to our table staff were attentive and efficient Food and drinks order taken , we explained my wife is celiac and her requirements are essential Starters were good quality and well presented , We selected the traditional dinner for our main and the server clear on which option was gluten free Finally the desserts selected gingerbread pudding for me and the gluten free chocolate bavarois for my wife Drinks were reasonably priced Special mention to “ craig” who was attentive without being intrusive had a good manner and efficient . He will do well in his chosen career if these standards are maintained Well done !! Overall an excellent experience and compliments to all involved

The food was excellently prepared and tasted incredible. The service was also great. They accommodated their 5 plate tasting menu to be vegan for me at late notice.

My partner and I had a lunch on 24/10/23. It was delicious. A good selection of courses. We had the three course lunch. We have been here several times in the past and have never been disappointed. We both agreed the bill was good value. We found the staff to be lovely. Polite and attentive. We will definitely return soon and would recommend the restaurant to everyone we meet

A first time visit to The Gallery and we will be going again (we have already booked Christmas Lunch). Fantastic service from the students and a lovely meal which we thoroughly enjoyed. The students are a credit to the college and we want to especially thank Neve who welcomed us and served most of our courses. The quality of the meals is superb and we highly recommend all three courses. The dessert (Pannacotta) was outstanding.

On Holiday, booked and dined twice in a week. (Tues, Thurs) 1st year students Tues, must have been a challenging menu. Tomatoe & Red Pepper soup, excellent. Mushroom with curried lentel + chilli salsa starter. (Heavy handed with curry & red chilli, seeds in, but tasty) Mains Chicken breast wrapped in Bacon, carrots, square boiled potatoe, crispy bacon jus. Enjoyed very much. Grilled salmon with mashed potatoe, carrots, broccoli, crisp bacon. Small thin fillet, skin not crips, over cooked, was disappointed but they had only been cooking 3 weeks! Thurs - 2nd year cooks - Steamed Haddock Fillet, Seared Salmon, Sole Goujons starters. 10 out of 10. Mains - Rump of Lamb with Wilted Lettuce, Parmentier Potatoes, Pea Puree - Very good resturaunt quality food. Coq Au Vin - A really well put together dish, my Wife loved it. Desert of Pineapple Tatin with Coconut Sorbet, lovely to finish off with. 3 courses for only £14.00 a person with wonderful views out towards the Wallace Monument. Well worth supporting and enjoying the good food they are learning to do. Would dine here regulary if we were local.

We decided to try the gallery at forth valley college for something different, and my god it was brilliant, the students looked after us from the moment we arrived and couldn’t have been more helpful, the food was great and the price incredible so give it a try. My only regret was not having cash to leave a tip as any money put on the card goes to the Scottish Govt so I’m taking cash next time.

I went to The Gallery restaurant with my friend who had been on previous occasions. The setting is beautiful with views over the River Forth, Wallace Monument and over to The Ochils. There is a dedicated area for parking in the car park. The front of house staff were very welcoming and the service staff were lovely and friendly. The food was outstanding and to a standard you would expect in a Michelin star restaurant. Well done to the whole team and thank you for a wonderful meal and experience.

This restaurant is excellent. I have been dining there every month over the last few years. The level of service is of a very high standard, with staff guiding and teaching hospitality students to meet the customer’s every need. The view from the window is stunning and looks out to the river, the Ochil hills and Wallace’s monument The presentation of the food is attractive and I can honestly say that I have never had a bad meal. The menu is innovative and also caters for vegetarian and vegan diets. Coffee is excellent and non dairy milk is available. Finally, where else can you get a 2 course restaurant lunch for £9? Fantastic.

This restaurant is a hidden gem within the Forth Valley College. The food is cooked by the catering students but was much better than I've eaten in some other expensive restaurants. The quality and presentation of the whole meal was fantastic. Beautifully cooked and very tasty. Where else would you have a 3 course lunch for £12. Drink prices are also very reasonable. Service was quick and the table staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely will be visiting more often. Booking essential.

The food and service provided is excellent. It's hard to remember that the front of house staff and chefs are only in training. I would definitely recommend going and giving it a try and let's not forget the fantastic value for money.

The view of the Wallace monument is great but dinning room has no ambiance. Food quality is uneven, starters very good but salmon entree was dried out with a big lump of mash potatoes. Would try again

Really disappointed about lunch today - menu had changed (that’s okay, it’s seasonal and availability), but no alternatives provided, so only two choices rather than three for both starters and desserts. Roast tomato soup was insipid, no bread accompaniment apart from welcome slice which was very dry. Huge portion of salmon! But £3 supplement. Chicken was tasty, but small portion. We know and understand it’s a teaching restaurant, but service was not good - felt bundled out - just under half an hour for two courses, booked for 1pm, well within the opening times - not the relaxed lunch we were hoping for…

If you were blindfolded getting to the Gallery on arrival when things started by being seated you would be convinced that you were in an upmarket restaurant not one staffed by students. It was a fabulous evening.... interesting menu, brilliant wine list and great service, all 6 of us were delighted and will return again.

Absolutely delicious dinner here tonight. Between the four of us, we had one of everything from the menu. I think my Harissa cauliflower steak was the Beez kneez, but others think their rib eye steak was. Thing is - it was all fab! The smoked chicken consomme was added drama. You couldnt ask for more. Fantastic food and lovely service. I had sea bass starter with fresh peas and cauliflower in batter. Amazing. The main was a lamb pumpkin curry that was sublime. Food wasnt cooked right and cold when delivered to the table would not recommend this place the food looked nothing like the pictures the soup was cold and watery the chicken wasnt even cooked properly still pink in the middle so if you dont food poisoning i would stay clear of this place

Restaurant is staffed by students learning their craft. Standards are very high and students are assisted by senior members of staff . Service is excellent . Meals are prepared by student chefs who I presume are also supervised and are excellent quality. In terms of value for money, this restaurant is hard to beat. Highly recommended

Came as a group for Christmas lunch and was ushered into a private room with our friends. Service (inconspicuously supervised) was smooth and professional by charming youngsters. Plaudits to the kitchen team - the young chefs provided a varied three course menu which catered for traditional and 'non-conformist' tastes with varied well-cooked (and substantial) plates - and all for £16! Check website for days and times the Gallery is open - not every day nor dinner/lunch times. See us back in the new term!

Our local history group Christmas lunch party of 20 were accommodated in a lovely private dining room, tables all set, very festive and looking forward to a lovely lunch together. The set menu had a very good variety with vegetarian options and adaptable recipes for those with food allergies etc. The chicken and duck terrine followed by the slow roasted beef was gorgeous and the pear and almond cheesecake was stunning!The presentation and service could not be faulted and the young people were polite, efficient and very helpful, under the watchful eye of the 'manager'. We were all very impressed especially as they were working in their own classroom. The standard was very high and I would like to thank all the staff and students for making our time there so special. I have no hesitation in recommending The Gallery Restaurant and am already planning to go back.

Six of us went for Christmas dinner this evening, the meal was excellent, the staff were very professional. This restaurant would put many top restaurants to shame and they could learn a lot from this establishment.

My daughter booked this for us for our Christmas dinner. It was there first night Serving Christmas dinner. All the food was well presented and tasted fantastic. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Could not fault anything. Thanks for a lovely meal.
