The Gallery at Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 in Slough

We've been here once before and wanted to go again to try some other dishes. It was quiet, but it was nice as we could properly talk to each other and didn't have to wait long for service. Food was very tasty, would recommend getting dessert (I've had the brownie twice now and it has never failed me.) If you are also lactose-intolerant, you can also ask for vegan ice-cream! As we are vegetarian, there weren't many vegetarian mains but the ones were offered were very tasty still. We were attended by Karan, who was very friendly and made sure we were enjoying our meal. Would recommend for a nice, formal evening out - dishes were moderately priced with filling portions.

I had a dinner at The Gallery restaurant Hilton Heathrow and I would like to mention Karan who made me feel even more welcomed and happy. Karan is very friendly, chatty, he offered to try his favourite dessert (apple crumble) after my main course and I didn't regret it. Thanks Karan for the excellent service!

Waited to be seated for 10 mins, all staff ignoring us, sat at a table, the manager then ran over to say we couldn't sit there and proceeded to shout at a waiter who was busy. The manager had been standing staring into space! Food was ok, bit expensive for what it is. Husband ordered lamb curry, which was beef, no one had mentioned the switch, luckily he eats beef, so wasn't a problem. If we hadn't already had a drink, we would've left and gone somewhere else. Very poor service and the food is not brilliant. Ordered drinks, 2 of the ciders I ordered weren't available

We have stayed at this hotel many times as very convenient forT5 at LHR. The restaurant has changed to the very positive over time. Our last visit the dinner was very good and the staff was excellent. The staff are super friendly and very helpful and knowledgable. Especially the manger of the restaurant Angelo Fernandes was super. He leads by example and is hard working. He leads his team by example. Our server Spandan was really good and apart from being efficient he was friendly and we had some lovely chats. We are already planning to come back and are going to meet with friends for lunch.

Needed a quick bite whilst charging our Tesla! Worst food stop decision of all time. The restaurant was empty, yet good took 45 minutes to arrive, by which time we had to move the car as charging was complete. If the food was good then this wouldn’t have been such a biggie BUT food was AWFUL! I sent mine back. My husband ate his as he was starving. They only comped my meal, no further discount for time taken to prepare 2 salads and 2 fried starters. Never again. Worst Hilton I’ve ever been to

Let’s start with the positive, service was lovely. Sadly the food was dreadful, I sent my tasteless starter back. My husband ate a few mouthfuls of his risotto main course, tasted like toothpaste and had a consistency of stodgy porridge. Wine (merlot) was poor. Slap in the face was paying over £100 for it. Wish we’d gone out now.

Excellent Breakfast buffet and amazing service provided by Simi. She was very professional and at the same time friendly. She was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed on our table.

Pre booked for gallery restaurant. Big mistake, menu was very limited and not good value for money. 3 starters to choose from soup, Caesar salad and Frito Miso. I chose Caesar salad and my husband the soup and both were average at best . The Caesar salad had little or no Parmesan. Salad was advertised as having anchovies, however, only one half of an anchovy was present! The parsnip soup was served with one small piece of bread. Mains were equally as bad. The chicken with broccoli was served with no potatoes of any description. The chicken was sat on a large stem of rosemary that overpowered the whole dish. The best thing about the set menu was the sticky toffee pudding, which was average at best. I would advise against booking the food at the gallery restaurant in advance, as the normal menu was very different. The people at the next table had lamb for main that arrived without the green beans but looked 10 times better than our meagre offerings. The king size room itself was okay but the duvet and sheet were clearly from a double bed as the sheets did not tuck in and the duvet hung only a few inches over the edge of the bed .

Good food, friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Our waiter was Karan who was friendly and very efficient. Would highly recommend.

Just nipped in to charge my Tesla at the super charge point and thought I’d drop in for a bit e to eat! The service was superb and with our doubt the best of them all was Alka! Thank you….. you made my visit lovely!

Stopped for a quick sandwich for lunch while charging our car. Great portion really filled us up. Alka was very welcoming and put a smile on all our faces. Thank you.

We had lunch at the Gallery in the Hilton Hotel at terminal 5 Heathrow. The service was lovely, big thank you to Alka and all other staff, food was incredible; having had the mushroom soup of the day and also sandwiches of smoked salmon and ham. Would highly recommend stopping by before a flight or even if you just in the area.

Came for dinner. Sat down at 6.40pm. 3 courses ordered. Dessert arrived at 20.15pm. Nothing seemed to spur the kitchen into action. Add to that complaint a feta cheese salad that had a so few tiny crumbs they were hard to find and two olives and you have a very poor value restaurant. Perhaps not newsworthy in an airport hotel. It gets interesting when I asked to settle the bill to my room when my dessert arrived, to save a bit of time. A few mouthfuls into my dessert a staff member came over mumbling about Emirates. I don't work for Emirates btw. I'd been wrongly given an Emirates menu. They insisted I'd asked for it. I didn't know one even existed. The restaurant asked me to pay the £17 menu price. I explained I had a £30 credit on the room. The restaurant again asked me to pay £17 and request a refund of the £30 on my room. I explained I would not see that refund as my company was settling the room bill. After an argument, my room was charged £25 for the £17 menu put in front of me and I didn't finish my dessert. I guess very few people freely "choose" to stay in a Heathrow hotel, let alone freely choose to eat in the hotel restaurant. Lack of better options springs to mind. But as a regular traveller who has stayed in enough of them, I can't recall a worse customer experience in one of these types of hotel restaurants. And as an aside, even though I'm not paying, if a menu of prices is put in front of you, that is a contract of sale. Hilton are out of order to then inflate the price to £25 due to their own error.

We visited the restaurant and Alka was so so kind and friendly. We have visited restaurants all around the world but Alka has beaten every one in service provided. Well done

I needed a quick lunch midweek whilst at the hotel. I was not going to be a big spender as time was limited. Nevertheless the attention and service I received was as if I had come it for a banquet! Aswin and Reesa welcomed me and understood right away that I wanted quick service. This they provided all the while being looked after by the smiling cheerful very helpful Alka. I could not have asked for better. The beetroot salad was excellent and the tea hot and fresh with refills. If the management are seeing this just one plea - the salad was excellent but the portion very small especially for the price. Just adding in bread would have helped and indeed when I asked Alka she gladly provided this. I went away happy and shall return. Thankyou.

I took a friend the service far from the quality I am used to at an restaurant of this repute. Bad body odour coming from the waiter & his service wasn’t professional. Poor training of staff in the kitchen & front of house including waiters....

Great place to eat and indeed stay if you are using Terminal 5 and have an early start. Only yards from the terminal. Very good.

Had two meals here. A dinner in which my wife found that the beet root starter (as a meal for her) was the sinf=gle best dish she had had in Europe. And at breakfast, an order of eggs fried medium resulted in a PERFECT pair...

We love this hotel as a location as we get great access to M4 on way home. We happened to be meeting friends here and sadly the Indian Restaurant does not open on a Sunday. We therefore had no choice other than the Gallery Restaurant....

Whole meal was tasteless and not what I would expect from the Hilton. The only good bit was the potato wedges. Steak was anaemic looking and looked like it had been cooked at a very low heat. Crab starter tasted like a supermarket sandwich filling and melon balls impossible to pick up. Unimpressed.

My meal was excellent, with food expertly prepared and served with warmth and efficiency. It’s a bit of a surprise to find such a restaurant in an airport hotel. The setting is peaceful and relaxing.

So I was dinning with my aunt and uncle. Special occasion and a long overdue catch up. The meals looks spectacular however mine wasn’t warm. I was so hungry I ate it and due to being in company with my elders, I didn’t mention anything....

LHR has become a hectic airport to connect, especially if you need to transfer from one terminal to another, Terminal 5 security lines can be a nightmare in certain hours

Very nice clean contemporary surroundings but we had to settle for third time lucky at the bar as they didn’t have essential ingredients for the more exotic cocktails. Parking is expensive considering you will be spending a notable amount in their bars and restaurants if...

Nice restaurant to eat in if you are staying at the hotel. There are a range of dishes. Our waitress, Nina, was pleasant and very helpful.

Visited the Gallery Restaurant whilst staying at at Hilton Terminal 5 Hotel on business. The restaurant itself and the staff were great. Very attentive and helpful.

I like this hotel as it gives me a number of options with bar menu, restaurant menu and also the more refined Indian restaurant. The hotel is great and rooms are of a good standard

We were really pleased that we were able to have breakfast - sometimes we miss the breakfast hours - but this time we were able to enjoy the Eggs Benedict - absolutely brilliant - nicely cooked and nicely presented !

Found on the Mezzanine of Heathrow Terminal 5 Hilton. This is a restaurant which could be so much better with a little work. The decor is modern but comfortable with well spaced tables and velour covered chairs which were both comfortable and supportive. Cloth napkins and tablecloths too. The front of house is pleasant and affable, the waiters are helpful and smiling. Menu has a good variety of grilled and roast meats, fish incliding a tasty-sounding crab and prawn pasta...and a few tasty veggie options. A good wine list. Complementary small bread rolls which were fresh but would have been nicer warmed first were supplemented by an amuse-bouche in the form of a small cup of sweet potato soup. It was pleasant but with a bit of an odd aftertaste. The steaks were illustrated with a breed history and came in a 30 quid for a 7oz fillet. The salmon steak was well-cooked and very tasty. It came with a vine of 5 cherry tomatoes and was, rather oddly, lying on a "mushroom ketchup" and beside a small yorkshire pudding - strange bedfellows... The Chicken breast was also delicious but was served with exactly the same accompaniments, as was the steak. Not very imaginative....

Just enjoy this lounge, great breakfast, ask the staff and they will bring you chilled Champagne. It has everything including bags of kettle crisps ..

During our stay we visited the Gallery for breakfast and were greeted by Franklin. A warm and professional approach and highly efficient. Dealt with all requests and specifically a bespoke order for my partner.

A relaxed evening meal heralded the start of our summer holiday adventure and we enjoyed the convenience of dinner in The Gallery. Plenty of choice on the menu and service was helpful and attentive.

Mark, Aswin, Alan, Todd, Fabrizio, Amrit, Kamal, Austin, Izvan, and Franklin always welcome me back like a member of the Royal Family every time I come back here. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner alike are always a fulfilling experience. My only request is that they please bring back the Wild Farmhouse Terrine starter to the menu. Thanks as always, chaps!

The queuing system and staff on duty were excellent during a very busy part of the morning. However the food itself was very very disappointing. We had the porridge and to say it disappointed is an understatement. It looked and tasted gloopy, what was supposed to be coconut flavoured just tasted what I would imagine wallpaper paste to taste like. The coffee was lukewarm and the tea was also. Come in Pret’s, I know it’s busy terminal and you have a trapped audience but you can do better than that!!!

The food was ok here but took a long time to come. Excellent service though. But over £7 for a pint of Guinness is just too much, its not as if its a top class super hotel... its an airport hotel near slough! & it was Guinness not Moet!

Chicken was rubbery. At £19.50 for a chicken breast I'd expect better. Then had phone call at 11pm asking if I could come down to pay, as I didn't sign bill after my meal. They took room number so I assumed the bill would be to my room... So got dressed came to reception to pay bill only to be told I'd have to do it in the morning.

Great food, but not great service. Order food, an hour later we were told that they didn't have some of the items we ordered. starters then arrived 25 min later, main courses an hour after that. Food was delicious when it did eventually come.

Buffet menus in airport hotels try to carter for quantity and diversity more than quality. And while the food is not bad at all, it is nothing special either. I had 3 meals there and all of them where forgettable

We enjoyed dinner after a very long day and the meal was nice. The service was good and the staff were very polite and helpful.They gave crayons and pictures for the children on the next table to keep them occupied which i thought was a nice gesture.

Después nos registramos almorzamos en el restaurante de este. Muy buena selección del menú con un gran vino y cerveza lista para elegir. Limpio y el personal era muy amable y copiadoras. n

El hotel es hermoso, pero obviamente no la familia, los niños no pueden usar el centro de ocio y tienes que pagar por el aparcamiento durante la noche. . . . Incluso si venía para un evento. Teníamos una suite familiar pero al no ser un lugar de familia amable hizo molestas. Necesitas la tarjeta llave para todo. . . Los ascensores, las instalaciones de ocio, etc. El desayuno era encantador, el personal es amable y el ambiente era muy agradable. Gran hombre llamado Aswin, hizo todo lo posible para que todo el mundo hizo el servicio especial.

Este hotel está muy bien ubicado, cerca de Heathrow. . . El hotel tiene 2 restaurantes decentes - "Sr. Todwalis (indio) y la Galería - más tradicional restaurante "británicos". He tenido algunas comidas muy agradable aquí (el cerdo viene del vientre a la mente), pero "chuletón" tonights estaba bien. Si te esperas un bistec - fuggedaboudit nosotros tamaño! Este corte, bonito, era más delgada y más pequeña de su básico. ribete Fue preparado a pedido y con patatas fritas de carne, tomates, y "Ketchup" de champiñones. Este hijo no es mi interés, y yo pedimos este (junto con espinacas. El personal era eficiente y amable. La comida tardó un poco más de lo que habría pensado, pero en general, yo diría que el personal era atento. Tengo que tarifa esta comida en general como "nada especial" - me gustaría cumplir con algunas de las opciones más interesantes (y) local.

I had dinner with a work colleague at this restaurant earlier this week. We both had burger and chips which cost close to £20 each! Unfortunately the meal was poor considering what we paid. We had a business lunch there 2 weeks before which was also very poor but thought the restaurant was having a bad day. This restaurant let's down a very good hotel which has excellent staff.

Had the crab and prawn pasta. Pasta sauce was like glue and pasta all stuck together. A very poor meal given the high price paid.

Was treated for my birthday! Excellent service all round. Very good food! Very friendly and welcoming staff. Will definitely visit again and strongly recommend my friends and family to pay a visit:)

During our stay at the Hilton T5 we enjoyed an excellent meal served up by very professional, friendly staff.The food was to a high standard & the prices surprisingly reasonable.One criticism would be that the portions are extremely large.

Stayed at hotel twice in six days end of April. Hotel has a very good but pricey Indian restaurant; a bar with hot bar snacks but VERY LOUD bomp, bomp, music; and this open-all-day Gallery Restaurant. Ate in restaurant twice in six days. First occasion with 20 or so guests in restaurant service was quick and food was hot at a cost of £47 including wine; second occasion a flight delay had about 30 other guests awaiting food paying by voucher. My order was for just one course with wine and I waited and waited. Wine arrived after 10 minutes, food after 25 minutes - AFTER I reminded the waitress. Unfortunately, the potatoes were barely warm although the paneer curry was piping hot. Manager replaced the potatoes halfway through my curry. No offer of cost reduction off total cost of £28.

Had dinner here with a colleague. Excellent services. Very prompt and professional. I had the shepherd's pie and shared a bottle of Argentina Melbec. Both very good with my bill coming to £40 inc tip Good selection with prices on the higher side but typical for a airport hotel. I would say tho that the service was much better than I had experienced from other hotels in the area

It is a part of the breakfast lounge of the Hilton hotel. I ate twice in it this week. I didn't enjoy the meals. The cook seems to be inefficient as I ate last year in the same restaurant and was better. The manager and the waiters are very nice but they don't cook. If you are staying in Hilton, you may be obliged to visit it.

Just eaten at the gallery, food was lovely and decent size portions. A little expensive for what it was but worth it and we would definately eat here again if staying at the Hilton. Only complaint is that service was a little slow but worth the wait!

Service was attentive and not over-bearing. Waiting staff were pleasant and helpful. What lets it down is the food quality and price. The food is average and very expensive for what you get. I have had better for less, even at many other Hilton hotels I have used.

Stayed for a single night at the Hilton, to catch our breath, after a couple of weeks in the Maldives and a stultifyingly long-haul flight.Crashed out in an excellent room when we arrived and awoke to a first class breakfast in the Gallery restaurant the following day : good fresh food, well cooked, great selection and the restaurant spotless.Service was first class and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.Highly recommended

Awful service. Food took an age coming and when it arrived was overcooked (all had steak of various cuts) and simply got left for too long on the pass from restaurant. Tables not cleared for 30 mins after we finished, eventually we ran out of time.

I had evening meal here in late January 2017.Food: I had venison for main course – nicely cooked but small piece of venison accompanied only by dauphinoise potato. For desert I had a chocolate desert which was very artistic and tasty but small. The quality was high but the portions small.Service: Very slow. For two courses it took two and a quarter hours.Value: Everything on the menu was pricey, even for London.Atmosphere: None to speak of really. The gallery is a mezzanine level which overlooks a seating area in the foyer of the hotel.

This is the second time we've eaten here and both times we've come away disappointed. The restaurant is very smart and promises much but.... We had soup to start with which was fine. However the Ceasar salad was disappointing. We both felt that we would have eaten better at home which, considering the food is pricey, is not a good feeling. As residents of the hotel we are a captive audience for the hotel is located on an industrial estate.

This was a generally disappointing experience. Food was average and expensive. Service was slow. Starters were particularly expensive. Portions were large but the food was generally unexciting.

We really enjoyed a very pleasant dinner in this restaurant just before Christmas. The staff were very friendly and helpful in explaining some of the different dishes on the menu. I enjoyed a vegetarian Thai curry and my wife also had a vegetarian meal. The atmosphere was relaxed and the restaurant was quite busy for early evening.

We ate here in the evening before our flight. We had a decent meal - food was tasty and if good quality especially for such a large hotel. The service could have been better but the staff were working very hard. I would return.

This was my second time dining here, and once again the Farmhouse Terrine (wild boar, rabbit, duck, and apricot) and Smoked Duck appetisers were excellent, as was the Red Velvet Tonka Bean Panna Cotta (which I hadn't tried previously).But best of all was the superb service I received. Manager Mark and table server staff Lenin, Royson, Avinash, Aswin, Sonal (and my apologies to whoever's names I've forgotten) all remembered me from my September visit, and they all welcomed me back warmly and enthusiastically, like I was family; Mark in particular urged his troops to "Please take good care of him."Many thanks, Mark and Gallery team; you're the reason I'll be coming back for more during future London visits! :-)

Didn’t stay but had dinner with friends. Food good and plenty of choice, although a bit expensive. Staff efficient and attentive.

My server was very nice & accommodating. Fish & chips were unremarkable. Sort of like ordering grits st a "Big Boy" in Michigan. While I received my order in proper time there must have been an issue in the kitchen as many tables around me were complaining of waiting over an hour for their meal.

I have stayed many times at this hotel and frequently write reviews - why? Quite simply the standard never drops, but last week even they excelled themselves. I was on route to Gatwick for a flight when it was cancelled. There was no option to enable me to make the yacht boarding so I switched to a Heathrow departure. I arrived somewhat flustered as I had a hotel booking at Gatwick for the return. Within minutes I had a reservation for this hotel and the wonderful Sylwia even managed to get a refund on my previous prepayment booking which in theory was not due a refund.On the day of check in Sylwia was on duty and took care of every detail and need so that despite very tired we were relaxed in minutes - thank you.Of course I also learnt that the amazing Front Office Mgr Verun was leaving to go to a new hotel - that was very sad and I wish him well - but it seems the team behind and Sylvia will carry on as before.Well done all .... as always.PS you need to visit the Gallery Restaurant - amazing breakfast but also display of Heinz Tomato sauce bottles!!

I only used the restaurant because we were meeting someone on a stop over. This restaurant will be busy purely because of location. There is no other reason to use it. It is grossly overpriced with small portions. I doubt they could make the steak any smaller. When the food was served the waiter interrupted my conversation to insist that I cut into my tiny T Bone steak so that he could check it was okay. Good job I did as I ordered it Blue and it was well down. How can you get it that wrong. I would only eat here again if I had to. The location means that they can serve bland uninteresting food at over inflated prices and get away with it.

We met my parents here for dinner as they had a stop over of just one night. It was also my mother's birthday. The service was average, and slow. My partner and I both ordered steaks and emphasised the need for them to be blue. They were both much closer to medium which is a long way off blue. the waiter had no idea what to do. The head waiter did take over and got a replacement steak for my partner and didn't charge us for his desert which was appreciated, but overall I felt it was not great value for money. It is certainly not somewhere I would chose to eat - it's just convenient if you happen to be staying at the hotel.

This review is any many ways a cut-and-paste of the restaurant segment of the review I did for the Hilton T5 Hotel as whole, but as was the case with Mr Todiwala's Kitchen (the hotel's other equally superb on-site restaurant), the Gallery was such a great eatery that it merits its own standalone review. The restaurant staff were virtually gushing with enthusiasm attentiveness, friendliness, and eagerness to please this customer. A million & one thanks to Sonal, Celiston Lenin, Aswin, and Zenian(sp?) (table servers), Mark, Avinash, Mario, and Armando (restaurant management team), and last but not least, Jasbir (Executive Chef). They all treated me like a VIP from start to finish.As for the food itself, an outstanding dining experience, from the Smoked Duck and Farmhouse Terrine (wild boar, rabbit, duck) starters (or "appetizers" as we Yanks usually say), the Beer Battered North Sea Cod and Roasted Loin of Venison main courses, and the Toblerone Chocolate Mousse Cup (with Drambuie raspberries) desserts. The wine selections are great too, in terms of quality and variety of selections--I recommend Alisos Pinot Grigio Riesling white from Brazil if you're going with a fish dish, and the Argento Malbec from Argentina with a red meat dish.The Gallery gets my highest recommendation to any and all of my friends & professional acquaintances transiting to Heathrow. Atmosphere was very good but service was so,so.I got the ketchup,salt and pepper AFTER I had finished eating my hamburger with fries.The meat was great but they never asked in spite of the menu how I wanted it...so it was overdone.Then they made a mistake with my bill....so they had to do it again.By the way the kitchen does not know how to make a hamburger...they put fresh cucumbers in it and the bread was not fresh.Caesars Salad on former stays is very good!

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcome. We had arrived 30 mins before our reservation but it was no problem.

Me and my family had a lovely couple of meals at this hotel. Staff very good and friendly with children. Food was really good and nicely laid out restuarant. Was even good for breakfast if you stay.

Ordered the lemon sole which was delicious which came with a side of vegetables. My mum ordered the lamb rump which looked like it was cooked to perfection. Had a bottle of the sparking rose which was also fantastic.Staff were polite and attentive and even brought my mum a slice of chocolate cake for her birthday. Would recommend but slightly pricy!

Fantastic food, attentive and very friendly staff. Fine dining. Prices were appropriate for the quality of the food. Highly recommend if you enjoy good food and wine.
