What a stunning spot! My husband and I recently enjoyed our meal here and we really couldn’t fault anything! The food, the atmosphere, the view of the stunning chandelier, the great service… everything was 10/10! A special thanks to George for being the best host ever- Top level hospitality and great at picking wine! 🍷 We loved the flavours of each dish we tried and would highly highly the Salt Crusted Wild Seabass as a main dish! Everything we tried was great but the seabass really blew us away 😍 will be recommending to everyone 🥰

What a disappointment. I have always wanted to go to cafe royal so I started buying gift vouchers. I tried to book Alex Dilling restaurant only to be told that I can’t use them in there. I therefore booked this restaurant. It was very disappointing. Nice staff but poor food. The £38 main course of lobster tortellini was ok. Pasta slightly undercooked, food lukewarm and 5 pieces of tortellini. At the end I asked for a dessert wine or liqueur. Apparently all they had was wine or coffee! Really??? Not what I’d expect from a 5 * hotel.

Stayed at the hotel many times this is our favourite hotel in London. So on a quick shopping trip decided to pop in for lunch. We had the most amazing lunch. But the thing I Iike most about this hotel is the staff. All staff are so happy and generally engaging and interested in you. Special mention to George who made us feel like superstars. Please try you won’t be disappointed. Outstanding 👏👏👏

When I received the email booking that asked for a photo so we could be personally greeted, I thought ooo this is going to be lovely and I really built the experience up in my head. They also asked if it was a special occasion and then didn’t acknowledge that it was, While there was nothing particularly wrong with the service and everything we asked for we got there was nothing amazing about it either, water glasses were placed on the table but no water jug, the best waiter came on at the later part of my dinner and he did make up for it, I don’t know his name but he said his children call him woody. The food was lovely, apart from the children’s burgers which we had to send back twice as it came pink. My son is only 3 I didn’t want to feed him pink meat so on the second dish I just cut the edges and he ate that and left the insides. The lovely waiter saw this and he agreed he wouldn’t feed his children pink meat either. He took this off our bill which we did appreciate. The man on the table next to us also made an inpact on our experience he was lounging on a chair in flip flops talking loudly to a phone on loud speaker. I don’t think this should be tolerated in a nice restaurant, it felt like we were in a street cafe, that and the final straw we were charged £9 for an orange juice has sealed the fact we would not return to this restaurant. The menu had changed also last week and this still hasn’t been updated on your website so the dishes we were looking forward to were not available. My pram was put in the clock room and there was no one there to collect it from and while we waited for someone I realised it had just been dumped in the room next door. Domion room I think. There were only half a dozen tables eating and around 5 staff around so they knew we had put the pram in the clock room but no one bothered to follow us out to get. I did want to try the afternoon tea as the room looks so grand but I will be checking reviews before I book.

I came for tea. I was ushered to the ground floor tea room which was fully booked. Staff led me to the first floor at the Gallery restaurant. Service was wishy washy, except for George who delivered all you expect from a 5 star hotel service : attention, discretion, nothing cloyingly, and, cherry on the cake, generosity (George offered cookies in a takeaway box as I mentioned during my tea that their butter cookies were delicious. I recommend for tea. Do ask for George.

The Gallery restaurant was a fantastic experience for me and my wife on our anniversary. It was made a wonderful experience by the very sociable and kind manager George. His warmth and humour made all the difference! Not even the great food and delicious dessert that George had made specially for us could have matched his grace and thoughtful actions! Our waiter Emmanuel also deserves special mention for his friendliness and excellent service. The cheesecake from cake and bubbles was out of this world. We promised to return with family!

We went for lunch at The Gallery, the ambiance is stunning and the service outstanding. Georges is a great host and will make your stay memorable. The kitchen team is also incredibly talented and nice. The Chef came to the table to meet us and explain some of the dishes. We had a great time and we will go back!

Reason for booking Gallery at Hotel Cafe Royal was for a late lunch, where no set hours meant we could book outside regular hours - backed up by good online reviews. The hotel is well located in the West End and beautiful inside. This is complemented by a comprehensive array of staff - all wanting to make sure you are taken care of and your visit is enjoyable. We arrived for a late sitting, to a very warm welcome and made to feel that we mattered. The lunch menu covers all the bases of fish and meat, and all delicious-looking. Good selection of drinks and wines - all what you'd expect from a restaurant attached to a hotel. What was planned to be a regular lunch turned into an afternoon session - mainly due to the exceptional service offered by George and his waiting team. We were engaged with and really felt like guests-of-honour in them wanting to make our visit as enjoyable as possible. All-in-all, a welcome turn-up, at a time when hospitality still seems to be struggling to get the basics back on track post-Covid.

The food at breakfast and dinner was excellent. Service was a little spotty. It’s not a completely professional crew yet, although everyone was polite and accommodating. I sense that the restaurant is struggling to find its legs.

The Gallery Restaurant at the Hotel is a top restaurant. This is not only due to the quality of the service and the food. George, the manager, is a star. Yes we loved the food, the service and the ambience but will definitely go back because we adored George's hospitality and caring attitude. We felt at home. For food lovers, the portions are very filling :)

We didn’t know where to go when we walked by Hotel cafe Royal. As we were hungry, we ask a staff member if the one of the restaurant was open to public. One staff member escorted us to the Brasserie when a french gentleman welcomed us. He’s name was Max if I remember well. He was very polite and welcoming. We stated that one of our party was vegetarian, he then replied “I’m pretty sure we will be able to look after you sir!” The menu is very classic French with some Asian and Italian twist. The service was polite and professional, the food was tasty (the veg Thai curry is to die for) and portions generous. The price was not low, however it was very worthy for the overall quality of our experience. Will visit again certainly!!

After seeing a matinee play at the Criterion with friends we were looking for a good venue for an early evening meal. We decided to try this venue inside the Cafe Royal. Excellent choice. First class service from a delightful waiter, lovely table, great menu that suited us all. It started off quite quiet but became busier but was never noisy and background music was just at the right level. Definitely will return.

Visited on 5 January, to celebrate our weeding anniversary. 26 years ago to the day my wife and I were one of the first couples to hold our marriage ceremony and then our party here. Back then and for a century and half or so apparently, the Café Royal was a collection of function suites or Ball Rooms. We were lucky enough to have our ceremony in the Pompadour Ballroom, the only remaining function room kept from before the Hotel redesign. We again celebrated one of our anniversaries when it re-opened as a Hotel, again a fantastic memory; and our eldest's 18th Birthday at the former Grill Room which is on the ground floor and probably the finest room in London to enjoy an Afternoon Tea This time, we returned for a meal with our children, all now adults. We had booked a table in the Brasserie Saint-Germain, which is on the terrace above the new hotel reception. A new re-vision and a great re-invention of this fab venue. Upon arrival, the Brasserie Manager who I think was Showmo, took us all to see the Pompadour Ballroom, which our children had only ever seen in wedding photos. Once seated, in a comfy half circular booth, service by the team, including Jawad and Shahan, was second to none. The food from starter to dessert was perfect. The ambiance is wonderful, no echo noise, no vulgar colours in the décor, just a comfy venue all in keeping with the building. Going forward, I don't think we will be waiting for anniversaries to visit the Café Royal. Located on Regent Street, just a few feet away from the hustle and bustle of the West End of London, its a perfect venue to see the bright lights of the City.

We celebrated my mum's birthday here and everything was lovely. There was a beautiful set up for her. Mum just loved it and then couldn't' stop smiling through the dinner. The food was just delicious---> The corn fed chicken was a 10/10, and so was the tuna dish ( name I can't remember at the moment). The service was also perfect, Showmo, Jawad and Armand took really good care of us, and made this night even more pleasant :). The whole experience was unforgettable and I definitely recommend this place for a celebration or special occasion.
