The most amazing roast dinner ever! The Yorkshire pudding stuffed with ox and mash is a cullinary masterpiece, I took the leftover cauliflower cheese home, portions are large!, all sooo good it took 2 hours to eat every delightful mouthful. Don't bother going anywhere else for your Sunday roast if you wish for the best wine, advised by Eric, and the most extraordinary delight on the pallette, prepared and cooked by Rob. Super special

Amazing culinary experience at The Gaff! Tucked away in a modern feel restaurant at a historic location in Bath. We booked the Chef's table experience; sat at the kitchen bar we watched Robert the Head Chef and his team carefully created an exquisite seven course menu full of great flavours and top notch quality. Everything was homemade and carefully curated to create dishes both new and classic with a twist, nice sized portions - we certainly weren't hungry at the end! He explained each course and the thought behind it whilst making conversation with us in between. We opted for the matching wine flight which through Eric's expert selection and detailed knowledge, the selected wines added another dimension to the experience. We felt very well looked after and will definitely be back to try the Sunday roast! Such a relaxed and enjoyable evening made only possible by the team; a big thank you to Eric, Robert and the rest of the team (especially the sous chef!) for a fantastic and special evening.

Came today for a Sunday lunch & can’t believe how amazing this roast was! Personally im not a lover of a Sunday roast, but my husband likes them, so we try to find somewhere different to give them a try. (I tend to choose something else on the menu) I was intrigued by the Gaff & I am so glad I gave it a try. If a roast was cooked this way all the time, I’d live off them haha! The chef was super friendly and even come to check all was ok & the person waiting on our table was super attentive. I will be back, we will tell our friends too. See you again soon :-)

An absolutely stunning culinary experience. Beautiful food and drink combinations, which will break ypur perceptions of flavour profiles. A fantastic little spot which is Michelin star quality but hasn't quite been recognised.....yet.

A wonderful dining experience. Forget your usual pub roast - this meal was an exceptional and very tasty twist on a traditional dish. The staff were friendly, accommodating and attentive without being in your face. The venue was just right - would thoroughly recommend.

A wonderful meal - and great wine list.

What an amazing find, we ate early as pre theatre dinner and the waiting staff were fantastic at ensuring we made curtain up! The chef was wonderful, he took the time to tell us about the dishes, which just added to experience. The food was some of the best I've ever had, and whilst it is hard to pick a favourite, I can't speak highly enough of the ox tongue with gnocchi, it was divine. The sticky toffee pudding was simply the best I've ever eaten. Thankyou for a gorgeous dinner, we will be back.

I made an error booking but they were kind enough to accommodate us. So glad they did as the Sunday roast was incredible, probably the best we’ve had in Bath.

Went in on spec for lunch. Had the hispi cabbage and prawn mac & cheese. The complimentary bread & whipped marmite butter were delicious before even starting my menu choices. I never would have thought to pair cabbage with hummous but it's a match made in heaven. Prawn mac & cheese was rich & creamy with plumptious prawns. Lovely with the albarino wine. Lovely meal. Highly recommended.

My wife and I dined at “The Gaff” on Saturday 28th Jan After leaving my first thought was to review immediately and rave about how great it was, However I decided to wait and let the giddiness at finding my new “go to” subside and leave a more measured review…… Well that was the plan, as it happens over the last few days my thoughts on the place have only got stronger Quite simply the best food I have ever eaten! We were greeted and shown to our table, First impressions were that the venue is Clean and inviting, nice and warm. Our server was excellent, present when you needed them but never over bearing. My wife had Red wine… copious amounts!! The Owner/Manager recommended this and he is clearly very knowledgeable in this field as it was the perfect fit for my wife and reasonably priced for such a good wine. I had a Clover Club cocktail and it was without fault , having many years experience in the trade a cocktail like that is something to applaud. Then the food…… Look at the prices and gulp…. Taste the food and you’ll see this is great value for money! If the bill had been 50% higher I’d not have quibbled it was well worth it! If you are looking for a £20 steak dinner this probably isn’t for you, but you don’t need mega bucks, we certainly don’t have them but if you appreciate great food and a great dining experience and want a special night then “The Gaff” is for you. I won’t spoil the surprise of the food with any details, just know it is out of this world good! The Chef Rob came over and spoke about his dishes and the passion in him is evident a real asset to the company I’m sure! I could of pulled up a chair for the Owner/Manager to sit and chat to us for hours he was that friendly and welcoming. He Knew when we wanted to chat and knew when we wanted to be left alone, A real art to be able to host in that way. Food - Outrageous Wine - fabulous Cocktails - Incredible Service - Exemplary Even the play list was Brilliant the perfect mix of Toe Tappers and background music. We can’t wait to return! A bit of me wants to keep this on a “If you don’t know about The Gaff don’t worry” basis, So that this stays something special that not so many people know about but with an experience like that they should be front and centre as one of the best restaurants in Bath and I implore you to get yourself booked in and you will be thrilled i’m sure!

Really great meal out in Bath. Attentive, brilliant service and some superb cooking. The sole and the barbary duck were standouts.

Amazing meal. Service was great from the moment we entered the restaurant. Food was delicious and one of the chefs came out to ask us how various dishes were, even explained how he made them - clearly proud of his work and rightly so. Unfortunately a terrible group of 4 came in who were complaining from the start for no reason at all - well just to get some free drinks and food most likely, so if there are any negative reviews following on from this please ignore that. given how this group acted, I don’t know how the staff dealt with it so brilliantly so fair play. Highly recommend this place.

I don’t say this lightly but THE BEST RESTAURANT IN BATH! Food is incredible, the level of attention to detail is honestly insane. Service is 10/10 as well as the restaurant decor. All our experiences have been perfect.

One of the best meals / experiences I’ve had at a restaurant. Visited here for my girlfriends 40th birthday on a Wednesday evening. Super service and loved watching the chef put the finishing touches to each dish. We ended up trying 10 different dishes overall and each one of them was excellent. The white chocolate panna cotta with berry jam was in particular delightful. Will be recommending to friends if they visit Bath in the future. ps, also had a great music playlist on in the background.

We had a fantastic meal at the Gaff in Bath. Highlights included the plaice in brown butter and the lamb was sublime. The cocktails were also very good especially the cold brew espresso martini.

Amazing food, beautifully presented, credit to the chefs. Very chilled atmosphere and great service. Enjoyed every dish, and the Gaff gin and tonic was lovely. Staff were very attentive. Would definitely visit again.

Fantastic place, amazing food for vegetarians and lovely twists on plates so you always try something different. For a small plate restaurant it's really good value would recommend to anyone in Bath as it's one of the best restaurants in Bath.

We had a lovely dinner, 5 plates of deliciousness and then a couple of puddings. The service was great, lovely drinks and mocktails. The cost was representative of fine ingredients and skilled cooking. Nice open kitchen adds to the sense of fine dining. Really happy with our experience! (BFG pls add cream)

Pleasant new restaurant but be warned the portions of food are tiny , £175 later for a table of 3 I consider far too much to pay for An average restaurant. The monkfish main plate was minuscule and we laughed when it arrived .

Hurrah! Bath has another high quality restaurant, to join the (unfortunately) short list here already. The Gaff is relaxed and professional, the cooking top quality, the wines excellent. We've only just discovered it but we will certainly be back. £145 for 2 people including plenty of food, 4 glasses of wine, coffees and service- that's about what this costs these days.

Simply Terrific new addition to Bath’s already strong restaurant scene. Our family had a wonderful Betwixtmas dinner at The Gaff during their “soft opening” and just couldn’t have been more pleased. The wine and cocktail program is awesome and all the dishes we tried were beautiful and delicious. Lest you think we only sampled a few, between our party of eight we literally ordered one (or two) of everything. The family sharing style local produce small plates menu will be very familiar to fans of their flagship in Wales. But, this is easily one of the best meals out we’ve ever had in Bath. A real gem.

This restaurant was beautiful! Lovely and warm welcoming staff, incredible food and the atmosphere was perfect. Would highly recommend the Sunday roast - the best roast I have had by a mile!

We had a fabulous evening at The Gaff, Bath. The staff were friendly and welcoming when we arrived. They decor is great, there is a relaxing atmosphere - and the food, well, the food is amazing. The chefs are brilliant. We had deep fried oysters in a tempura batter; steak tartare, and - my favourite - smoked salmon with hollandaise, and a beetroot reduction, finished with a dill garnish which was the most delicious combination of flavours. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

Superb restaurant in Bath. My wife and I visited there during the week and were blown away. The way the staff look after you is great, the food is amazing and the feeling of being relaxed makes the experience so much more enjoyable. I would highly recommend.

Hidden gem in a city filled with good restaurants. Was pleasantly surprised by the food. Definitely seemed a cut above anything else I've had in Bath at that price point. The atmosphere is very laid back as well which we liked. Definitely recommend

Incredible food and atmosphere! I’ve been to the Gaff in Abergavenny before so when I heard about one opening in Bath I had to visit. It did not disappoint! We all had a roast with all the trimmings, the beef was cooked beautifully. Make sure to save room for dessert as the creme brûlée is to die for! The staff were so welcoming and take you through the menu so you know how much to order. They said the menu changes frequently so there will always be something new to try. I’ve already booked in to return.

Wow - amazing We have eaten before at the Gaff in South Wales, so we’re delighted to see they had opened in Bath. This new Bath restaurant is amazing, great open kitchen so you can see the chefs preparing the food. And as expected the food was incredible. The flavours are insane and the presentation just fabulous. The team are welcoming and very friendly and guide you around the menu. This new Bath restaurant will take the city by storm, a real gem in the city. Highly recommended.

Took my wife on a date night to this fabulous restaurant on Thursday night. On entering the restaurant we we’re greeted by a very friendly American chap who showed us to our table . One of The owners introduced herself and talked us through the menu . It was hard to choose 6 dishes as they all sounded amazing but after a little arguing we plumped for 6 we didn’t wait long and dishes started to arrive I must say it was also great to watch the chefs at work as it’s an open kitchen. When the dishes arrived I was taken a back at the effort that had gone into the presentation ok it looks great but the most important thing is the taste right ? Well it’s very very obvious these guys are at the top of their game as all the dishes were delicious. We had a lovely bottle of Rioja to wsh it down with and boy we were very satisfied by the end of the evening. In my opinion it will only be a matter of time before this restaurant starts winning awards and rave reviews. We will definitely be going back it’s just brilliant .
