If you like chips with style then this is the place. We ordered a kid's meal what was great quality. Vegan burger 🍔 what was small but quality was out of this world and this is from someone who is a meat eater. Reg beef mess and lrg 2 meat mess . The best thing I like about it to style the meal to how you like it the staff are so friendly . This place is in the middle of nowhere. So make your way there and you will be surprised 😋

Our dinner plans changed and we chose the Fryer Engine based on the convenient location. The menu is fairly basic, chips, chips with cheese, chips with meat, chips with meat & cheese, and a few burgers. We opted for the chips with 3 meats (chicken, pork & beef) & cheese. You then choose if you want pickles or jalapeños and there’s a choice of sauce. The chips were ok, not too soggy & there was a decent amount of meat which was nice and tender. The gherkins were a bit sparse! It tasted ok, but it’s not something I’d choose to eat on a regular basis. The 20% discount on your first order was a nice little bonus!

Honestly, the battered chips are absolutely UNREAL! Cannot wait to try the other items on the menu! Really quirky set up and ran by the nicest people! Will 100% be visiting again and would highly recommend people to visit!

A big thank you to the staff at McCoys, Frindsbury. Following the temporary closure of the Hoo shop, the team here stepped up to prepare 34 portions of fish and chips for our evening function. The food was ready at exactly the time requested, it was freshly cooked, hot, sizeable portions and very tasty. I cannot fault the service provided by all concerned.

And have recommendeed it to all and sundry. I am sorry to say however today could not have been farther from my previous experiences. OK it was very busy being the final weekend of the six nations and I am an avid six nations fan but guys do you really need the multiple tvs at full volume it is not a pleasant environment certainly not one I would want to eat in. In fact the moment I walked in I wanted to leave. And I am not a quiet retiring type of person. I only stayed because I was meeting family who were already there. The bar service was inadequate verging on abysmal where on previous visits it has been wonderful. As I was driving I Asked what 0% alcohol was available to be asked what did I want an ipa or a lager I replied I dont know what have you got to be presented with wave towards the lower drawer of the fridge that I could not see from overcrowded bar. In fact I will withdraw the inadequate statement and let's just say it was abysmal. We were a group of three but when we secured a table I decided I could not enjoy a meal in the environment and the other party members agreed the tvs were far too loud which in turn led to people shouting to make themselves heard and it just was not a pleasant environment. Would I come back ? I dont know I have been a fan of dead pigeon from day one but tonight was disssapointing . Plus not being able to get delivery Thursday of the last week athough I am only 5 mins away is not good .
