The food is excellent, no question; however £85 for what amounts to burger + chips for three adults and two kids, soft drinks only, just feels a bit too pricey. Beyond the food, the experience was average; the staff were pleasant enough and our food didn't take too long to arrive. The restaurant interior is a little tired and dingy but it's a high street sports bar so precisely what you'd expect I guess.

Guys... Do we need to petition for bottles of Brown Butter Mayo? DELICIOUS! I had the phili cheese steak burger and skin on fries, 10/10 really loved the onions and the patties were well seasoned. The fries were perfectly cooked for me, crispy outside soft inside. The cocktails were strong and tasty ( I had the Apple Bramble, my gf had the Princess Peach) I'll probably be visiting monthly to try everything on the menu. Thank you for the great food and service!

Went in and ordered 2 drinks and swiftly left once we were told they dont take cash, well as far as i am aware cash is still legal tender, its a disgrace. You do realise this place is located in Chatham not London right? Well The Nags Head just up the road took a lot of our cash plus we had a great time in a proper boozer, whoever owns the Dead ( it was very desd) Pigeon give your head a wobble .

A great place for some craft beers and some incredible food. The best burgers I've ever had globally. Always has a great atmosphere and is very welcoming. Quiz nights are great fun too

Best burgers ever, although I could barely fit it in my mouth haha so many to chose from can even create your own. So full of flavour, crispie bun. So good chips really nice to and the home made Mayonnaise was amazing... I would probably order and collect or get delivery next time as not keen on the vibe in side as very sports bar type and can be full of men. But that's just my opinion. Amazing burgers

Sorry, not as good as I ve had in the past by a long way. If you use deliveroo don't bother, the order was light which didn't help. Go elsewhere.

Usually we are eat in but this time took take away and unfortunately we were one hour later for pick up because we stuck in traffic but they remake our food and it was lovely hot and tasty like always. The best burgers ever! Must try! After trying signature every other burger you gonna try won’t be so good. But obviously every monthly special burger it’s worth to try and that’s what I’m doing every time 🤣

Great place if you want to experience an unique burger with good quality if meat. Everything we ordered tak away was very tasty. Portion sizes were good too. Prices seem fair for the quality. This is also a great spot to go and enjoy a pint with friends. I do recommend.

Was OK, one of the items ordered this morning through the website was not available as it was last month's special, and I was told that "for some reason I'd been able to order it". The burger I did have was OK, but very very sweet to the point that no other flavours came through. Fries were lukewarm. Vegan options greatly reduced from previous menu, and no desserts offered anymore. Was better back when they offered pizza and nugs to be honest. Won't be in a rush to return.

Amazing food and friendly staff. They have a wide selection of beers and food. Went there with a group of work colleagues, and we all tried different things (wings, burgers, different types of chips), and every single one of us was pleased with what was served to the table. Well worth the 30 min drive there.

Do visit this sports bar - it does the most amazing food, and very good value! Best burgers I think I've ever had at a restaurant and perfect crispy chicken, also chips! Lovely staff too - super friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Thanks guys!

Wow... I had a great OG burger. Looked and tasted amazing . Probably the best burger in Rochester. Nice elderflower cider to accompany the skin on fries. Great service.

Regarding their sister venue: Asked a simple question regarding the coverage of a football match. Was ignored for three days, then when I went into the bar wasn't assured that the entirety of the match would be broadcast with sound due to it being "Friday night" and possibly it being a championship playoff, not premier league. Huge discrimination. Got a very unpleasant response from their social media, saying I shouldn't come to their bar again. Lucky they don't need to care about people eh?

Great lil pub, food is brilliant, both normal and vegan burgers are great and a good range of drinks.

Visited for the first time this evening after hearing great things. Unfortunately my Loaded Philly Cheese Steak fries had a rather long hair hiding underneath the Cheesy topping. To their credit the staff were excellent and refunded me for the fries and replaced them with a plain portion straight away. Just a shame as I couldn’t enjoy the food afterwards.

The customer service and food is outstanding

Food was great and good choice of ales, asked for no cheese on the burger and came with alot less sauce than my friends who had the same with cheese and was charged extra, apart from that really good beware of ticket wardens thought parking was free after 6pm but wasn't and got a ticket

Our first order from here was so nice, although a bit expensive. We thought we'd treat ourselves again, but unfortunately the food was inedible. One burger bun was so soggy it couldn't be eaten. Onion rings were just onion bits with crumbs on. The wings tasted and smelled like fish.. pink chicken, and covered in hairs. £50 wasted.

Amazing burgers and fries! We had the Philly cheesesteak burger and the chicken gravy one. Also the curry chip shop and roast dinner seasoning on the chips. Lauren served us, she was very sweet, polite and helped us choose as we hadn’t been before. Well what can I say! They were amazing and the chips cooked perfectly. Can’t wait to return!

Food was brilliant - we had to wait a bit longer than expected for it, however it seemed to be a busier (Friday) night than usual due to it being a sport game night. Had a regular beef burger + fries - the quality of the whole meal was amazing - good quality meat and great flavour. The new menu has loads of selection inc. gluten free and plant based stuff. Was a little loud when we first arrived, but after the group of *absolute lads* (about 10 of them) sat behind us left, we could finally hear each-other talk instead of shouting!! Great drinks selection and seems to be run by nice people - friendly and helpful staff. Definitely going back!

A celebratory leaving occasion for a work colleague was not great here. Not a good experience compared with other venues. Burgers okay, chips the same and overpriced, £13.00 for a basic burger and chips, ouch! Some at around an eye watering £20.00, We all had to wait an hour for all our burgers to arrive, and by then we were all fed up and starving hungry in a very cold unheated room and feeling unwell , and we all had to eat with all our coats on. Devoid of any atmosphere with a lot of TV screens dotted around with a bar with very little to no decor. We found out there was no physical menu to look at all, unless you had a phone and could look to see online and you had to get it via QR code on a drinks coaster, which became a problem as some of my other colleagues did not have a smart phone that could do this. You could not then order online either? which confused all of us as we all had to get and go to the bar to order what you wanted, and you could not pay cash either! so what is the point in all this malarkey. All of which I am sorry to say made us all feel very disgruntled and not the best of a leaving celebration. What a palaver just to get a burger and chips!

Really friendly response on facebook to see if they had a table. On arrival a nice welcome with good wine thats not bad priced. Got a little confused with how to order food, but when we worked it out its all bar service ordered with no trouble. Food came fast, really hot and most of all absolutley delicious! We had the butter burger and the american with chips and some chicken tenders. A few pots of tasty sauce on the side! Proper burgers with genorous cheese and excellent pickles! It does feel a little spenny for burgers but I assure you it is worth every penny!! Good quality food, with a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. We will be back!

I come here on my day off just swinging by we own a tattoo studio down the road and my god what have I been missing ! This place is giving you options beyond your imagination of ales,stouts, local ciders honestly great amazing staff super friendly dude Martin top guy is so attentive! The main thing though that just blew me off my seat was the burger Omy the best burger I have had in my entire life ! Juicy tangy glitched to perfection the bun was gluten free for me amazing to have this option and it was so soft and a great size compared to the patty ! The beef pattys was cooked to perfection there is not one thing I can fault this venue about so kudos to the chef to Martin and the owner the whole place is a pure vibe ! I was on my own today and felt so comfortable as a female in a sports bar it’s decked out with lush rich black walls and rustic wood pallet bar amazing industrial skate vibes amazing xxx defo be back again ! Xx

Great place. Visited on Sunday and really enjoyed the atmosphere for the football. Staff both football fans with plenty of chat. Came back on Monday for the quiz which was great fun! Staff excellent again with great beer knowledge. Had some amazing loaded fries and chicken tenders... burgers looked great so will definitely be back for one soon

O no!!what’s happened to the dead pigeon??Have the owners changed? Came here today and tables not being cleared.Had to ask for my table to be cleared and staff didn’t wipe table down.To be fair staff were nice enough. As for the food,bun seems to be cheap type.burgers and chill crispy beef was warm but chips hot.I haven’t been here for a few years and remember this used to be the best place for burgers.Go to the skull bar in Maidstone if you want the best burgers.

This place used to be amazing and the go to place for burgers, but unfortunately it’s really gone down hill which is a really shame. The nuggets were really tough and the burger was very disappointing and left a foul after taste. It’s a shame. Please bring it back to how it used to be :) unfortunately this has been my last few times going and hoping it would get better each time, but sadly not.

Tonight I went out for a meal here, I have no complaints about the food, BUT quality of service was poor, slow staggered service and wrong orders presented. I was there with 3 friends ( we are all teenagers which may account for the poor service) our food came out separately, waited quite a while and then it came out with a 20 minutes difference between the first and last meal ( mine). When mine arrived it was not what I ordered, The waiter said i could wait for another or have this! I ate it because I was hungry. The meal I got was a fair bit cheaper than what I ordered but I was given NO refund/ discount. A paying customer is a paying customer and the service and treatment they receive should be the same weather they are a teenager or a fifty year old.

I had wanted to try this place for a while and so made the trip to Rochester specifically to try out the burgers. Pub was quiet and lacking atmosphere but there was a friendly barmaid so we made our order and waited. We ordered a Chicken burger and the OG burger, both burgers looked good but were so salty it made them almost inedible. Not sure what happened but really disappointed. A lot of effort has obviously gone in to the design of the burgers, it’s just a shame the execution was poor on the day I visited. Unfortunately will not be returning.

Food is beyond excellent. Really good burgers that will be up there with the best you've eaten. As a pub, well, from the layout it looks like it used to be a shop of some sort so nothing like a traditional pub. But these craft beer type venues get squeezed in all sorts of places these days and they have a good selsection of beer, so no real complaints. The burgers make it worth the trip regardless.

100% the best place for a decent burger delivery! Burgers are amazing, chips arrive hot and still crispy, wouldn’t go anywhere else! It’s worth paying that bit more!

Stopped for lunch after checking Google for a dog friendly spot. We were not disappointed! We were welcomed with a fresh bowl of water for the dog, the football was on which gave a buzzy atmosphere and the food was delicious. I had the signature burger which was the best burger I've had in a long time and my husband had the special (I can't remeber the name but it included Indian spiced lamb which was a delight). Highly recommend the gravy for dipping too. We will be back when we are in the area.

What a place, You wait a bit for your food but it's worth it. Great friendly service, amazing food and screens for the football. I'm really fussy when it comes to good but everything was so fresh and tasty. If you love a decent beer and a top notch burger then you absolutely need to visit this place. A bit on the pricy side for a regular visit but definitely worth it for a treat. Love the seasonal/themed burgers giving the menu great variety.

BELIEVE THE HYPE. We popped in late last week when in the area, after the uproar I have noticed across social media I had to give it a go! And wow... what a burger. The sides were brilliant too - the restaurant itself has a lovely relaxed vibe with plenty of TV's to watch sports. Will definitely return 💪🏼

First time ordering from here, slightly disappointed at the waiting time, I ordered for collection and was kept waiting for 30 mins after arriving for my collection slot, bar didn’t appear to be busy so I don’t know quite what the hold up was. The food though was more than worth the wait, I had the loaded naga fries and Fat Freddyz Beast burger, stuffed full of bacon, cheese, burger sauce, gherkins, and 3 burger patties, the food was top quality and by far one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. 100% would recommend.

Was a really nice pub but waited close to an hour for food then when it came it was wrong, said something and the guy said it was our fault but will go there again give it a second chance (loaded chips were really good though)

Delicious meal, lovely drinks, friendly staff, clean environment, great service, great atmosphere. Best burger and chips we’ve ever had, huge portions so couldn’t finish it all. Overall GREAT experience. One thing I would say is the lighting was very harsh and overpowering at the back by the TVs, could do with some mood lighting or change the bulbs! 10/10 would recommend

Ordered for collection at 8.10 drove from Maidstone to Rochester to experience the dead pigeon for the 1st time to have to wait 30mins tea from arriving to collect to leaving to find the burger was cold!! From ordering to eating it was 1hr and 20 minutes!! 30 minutes in crowded restaurant after collection time and No communication from any staff at all! Served with no tissues or cutlery for loaded fries in takeaway bag! at least we no not to make the journey and waste our time again!

Should have better notification in regards to under 18's not being allowed in after 7pm. A notice on the website and nothing present at the bar or entrance is not professional. Will not be visiting again. Wasn't even busy a day we arrived at 18:30.

After entering we were met by a dog barking and growling at us, and the owner had no control over the dog. I mentioned that I wasn’t comfortable around dogs, and everyone turned against me. The staff and the owner of the dog made us feel very uncomfortable. At this point we left as I felt the dog was clearly in favour of the people behind the bar. Regardless of the reviews and how good the food is supposed to be here I can’t see the dog spending as much money as we would have. I’d like to say I would come back but after this experience I’m going to give it a miss.

Despite coming on an incredibly busy evening, we had the best meal of our lives! My husband and myself have been here on a few occasions now and travel an hour but have been blown away every single time. The Medway burger is phenomenal and probably my favourite one so far. Beers are always fantastic and served by incredibly friendly bar staff every. Single. Time. (On this occasion was two ladies on the bar) They’re so knowledgeable about what they do and the meals they create. Would give ten stars if I could. Thankyou thankyou thankyou!

I got my burger delivered and have been here a few times. The food is incredible and reasonably priced for what you get. The staff are kind and helpful and a very good atmosphere.

This place does really good burgers. Their chips are cooked to perfection. You'll have to check their menu on your phone and before ordering. Kids are not allowed in the evenings. They're also a pub and brew their own drinks. There are a few car parks nearby or a 10 minute walk from Chatham.

Without a doubt one of the best burgers I've had in my lifetime, and I love a burger. I had the Argentinian burger with Naga loaded fries, and a Munich lager. To start with the fries, they were the perfect balance of heat and flavour, even without mentioning the burger the fries are worth a return visit! My friend even said half way through the fries she was sad as she couldn't have the first bite again. The burger was something special, to put it into words describing how good it was would be an injustice on how good it actually was. All I can say, is go there and try it for yourself! It's more than worth its cost. They also do a good selection of beers, including fruit beers which are delicious. Also as an added bonus they have a number of TVs with sports playing, so this would be the perfect place to watch lunchtime games.

Lively pub (we did go when the football was on the TV) with a good range of beer and burgers.

Very surprised at the quality, service and vibe. It was a quiet early midweek evening so for me had the right blend of numbers for a decent but not overpowering buzz. All at a pretty reasonable price with a good range of craft and low or zero alcohol beers. What's not to like. Definitely recommend

Dead pigeon is a local success story and deservedly so. Their food isn't for anyone looking to lose weight but it is well cooked, well prepared, delicious and they very clearly care about doing what they do well. Everyone I have taken to the dead pigeon has been impressed with it

Ordered takeaway for collection on way home from work. When picked up no drinks in the bag. Emailed as soon as I got home, no response. Disappointed.

Walked in without booking the place was immaculate. Greeted immediately. Ordered drinks straight away and sat down. Ordered burgers for me and the other half. When I say you haven’t had a burger until you’ve had one of these…..the food was insane! Staff member was very friendly and accommodating. Will not hesitate to come back again. Highly recommend.

Came in to collect my order, having stood and watched 4 customers served that had not been waiting when I arrived, I finally spoke up. The girl who was rather disgruntled at having to come to me, asked what she could do for me in an abrupt manner. She went and got my order and then again without any apology for having been ignored handed me my food and through gritted teeth with a sarcastic attitude said enjoy your food. I didn’t it wasn’t worth its price, the fries were the best part, the burger was awful and looked nothing like its image or description. I won’t be back!

Went for the first time yesterday, the best burger I have had in a long time. They have a wide range of ales if that’s your thing. I am a larger drinker so had 1/2 options but was still a nice German larger. The burger was big with a decent size portion of chips. A very juicy burger that was amazing, no faults atall. Amazing drink, even more amazing food. Known well locally but if you have never tried The Dead Pigeon, and certainly never tried the food, then you have to as you are missing out. One of my personal favourite places in the area!

Food is always lovely here, young lady with dark hair was also lovely, there was however one extremely rude member of staff, we walked in and ordered our drinks before eating and we left immediately after our drinks due to the attitude of this woman, she was so rude to the point we had chosen to eat elsewhere that night. Now we have decided to stick to greedy banker as we love the food, this woman has still managed to cause us inconvenience for we now have to travel an extra 20 minutes there and back.

The food is absolutely amazing!! But unfortunately we will not be returning. This is a result of a recent visit, where one of your staffs attitude was atrocious and her customer skills are nonexistent.

This place has excellent food and a great selection of beers, and the chap serving us was really friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our food so much, there wasn't a single morsel left on a plate between three of us. Highly recommend anyone in the area visits for either food or drinks.

If youre ever in Rochester and fancy some lunch or dinner, id highly recommend The Dead Pigeon! My fiance and i stopped there for some grub and oh my goodness it was lovely. I got the philly cheese steak and fries with a lemonade. My fiance got the Argentinian cheese steak burger and fries with an IPA called Here we go. We both got nacho cheese sauce to go on our fries too. Its the best food and drink weve had so far in Medway!

I think this place has been coming up on my Insta feed for five years now. Looks great. Not sure why it’s taken me so long to get around to going! 😆 Micropub in old Rochester High Street, down towards the old Court building at Anchorage House. Great range of different beers on tap - opted for a Paulaner Kellerbier. Decent. Good choice. The star here is the food - burgers, cheesesteak and all the sides. Opted for the special - the Thai inspired Thaitanic with double smashed burger patties and massanan pulled beef. Chips and chilli cheese nuggets on the side. The burgers were so good - just the right size and consistency to eat with your hands. The Thai flavours really front and centre. Definitely need to come back and try the cheesesteak Ate quite early but looks like it gets busy in the evenings. With food this good if certainly expect it. Another reason to visit Rochester more often…
