What a lovely fish and chip shop wonderful food and service excellent

Need to get with the times and start taking card payments. Who carries cash these days?!? And none of the shops nearby do cash back so you’ve had it if you’re passing by and decide on fish and chips with only your phone on you. No can do.

Absolutely the best fish 'n' chips in Medway. Run by the same friendly family who own the shop in Hoo. The batter is perfect each time. Only ever had excellent food both shops and have been using them for years. Would recommend to anyone particularly those who miss traditional fish 'n' chips cooked to perfection. Busy at key times and deservedly so 👍❤️

Great food, probably best fish and chips I have ever had. I'm not normally a fan of fish and chips, I prefer my meat choices more but whenever I or the family want fish and chips- this place is my go to. Great and efficienct service from the owners, who are lovely people.

Been wanting to go here for ages... so waited for a quiet time and popped in, had a good old chat with the lady on the till n had a laugh with them all. Very welcoming people. Food was amazing ! Never had such good fish n chips... thats not near a seaside ! We will definitely be going back..

We had another tasty fish and chip supper from McCoys while staying with our family in Kent. We always look forward to it and never have any complaints. If you want freshly cooked fish, this is the place to go! We’ll be back soon!

We are very loyal to this wonderfully run, family business . Already renowned for the quality of their cooking ,cleanliness, and excellent tasty varied menu. Service ,prompt and with a smile ,most welcoming. Their prices and portion size are very good and can very much recommend . My best friend ,to whom i recommended the best SPAM FRITTERS , POSSIBLY WITHIN THE UK. Has in turn recommended HALLOUMI FRIES. Originating from Cyprus, this cheese in batter is phenomenally scrumptious, and now a firm favourite, you must try them NOW !!. They even do fish for your cat ,how thoughtful . Small car park adjacent . just go through the big wooden gate opposite the Esso garage easy to spot .TESEKKUR EDERIM ,see you soon .

I'm sure this has been said over and over again but best chips etc in Medway. We travel quite a distance to buy from them. Never greasy or old chips. Everything is cooked fresh and the service received is exemplary ☺️

Best fish and chips that I can ever remember eating and trust me its my go to take away so Ive had more than my fair share. This is my first ever positive google review but the food was deserving of it. The staff are very friendly and polite. Fish was cooked to order, the batter is thin and crispy, the cod was flaking as it should and very succulent, it was cooked to perfection. The chips were also amazing not too crispy and not soggy and tasted amazing too. Its not very often you come across both fish and chips this good so well done to you all thanks for amazing food. There only thing that lets this place down is its a 9 hour round trip to my home!!!!!!

Love this place. Mum and I regularly go in there to get oap fish and chips. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere.

Fast service and good quality. The employees are very friendly. A place where you have free parking, and I have no words for the food, I give it a 10 plus.

Fish was cooked from frozen not fresh, was very dry and not flaky as would expect from good fish and chips. also had a slightly soapy taste to the fish… Chips were average.. also very over priced at £23 for two below average portions of “large” cod and chips.

A great fish n chip shop. Chips very decent, good portions and cod batter is thin and crispy. Can be a bit of a wait as it seems fish cooked to order or maybe it was the time of evening. Worth it tho.

Went in just to get chips gave a tenner she cheekily have back a quid less and had the audacity to look in the eyes 😡 That woman working there will be reported to the boss and confronted. Advise all who visit check your change !

Used to be amazing now sadly it's slipped into just a standard chip shop. Got served tonight by a young girl that had a huge chip on her shoulder. Made us feel quite unwelcome. Won't be rushing back anytime soon 😔

Only ever had takeaway but recently requested a large order for a school sleepover. Amazing food, perfect portion sizes, delivered to school on time and hot. Very happy children (and staff)! Thank you guys will definitely do this again.

Chips were really dry and hard to actually swallow. Cod was ok but not that big for a large. Staff however were nice and friendly and I see the reviews are usually good and it seems a popular place so perhaps we were just unlucky.

I must of arrived on a bad day because I've been told that the food is normally good but the battered sausage both smelt and tasted funny and was inedible and the chips were just ok

I do wish companies would keep their websites updated - wasted a 8 mile car journey after checking website to confirm shop was open - stated open for delivery and takeaway........ In response to McCoys answer ..... You may close at 9pm, but my journey was made at 6.30pm. So still no reason as to why the shop was closed. Uber Eats is not a company I would use for food delivery.

Support this wonderful family run establishment . They have managed to stay open during this terrible pandemic . We were cautious to visit but quickly saw their adherences to all hygiene practices . The very high standards taste and freshness of their products is second to none meaning we shall remain loyal to them . Usual menu on offer but one rare exception , delicious ,succulent ,thick , SPAM FRITTERS !!!! . Outstanding . Along with their expertly cooked golden chips it would take some beating in any contest . Thank you for your service . Feeling really hungry now i "m off to the best chippy by far .

Used to love this place lovely staff nice food but gone down hill the portion size of the fish is dreadful large is defo not it's a medium at best specially at the prices they charge for it and asking to have something cooked didnt go down well could see the look on staff face and moaning maybe just having a bad day but surely that's what pays the bills dont go there much anymore dont know if they have changed hands or just staff but a smile and politeness goes a long way.

I thought i would try this chippy, i have known the owners for 30 years and use to go to the bligh way branch nearly every day, but circumstances change things over the years. It was like going back 20 years! Lovely to see Ali and his family. After tasting their cod and chips which were absolutely delicious, such friendly staff, why would anyone go anywhere else! 😊

Requested and paid for large cod and chips , received a small cod that they tried to make up for by giving me a mountain of chips , half of which I threw away , far too many .Never mind they have lost a good customer who will now go elsewhere.
