The Fry Inn in Moray

Après avoir cherché pendant plus d'une heure où dîner dans Buckie et vu des restaurants qui avaient franchement l'air sales, on s'est dit que l'option du fish and chips était la plus sûre. On a bien mangé, c'était correct.

We sat in for a fish tea. Couple opposite told us of a smaller portion, "the senior's special " and for 4 of us this was adequate. Good well cooked fish supper. No frills just a good plate very competitively priced.

Passing through Buckie at lunch time we wanted something to eat so stopped at The Fry Inn - and it was excellent! The haddock and chips were excellent, the best I have tasted in a very long time!

Always great service, a wait sometimes but well worth it as these are the best fish and chips in the area

Popped in for bit of afternoon lunch. Fish tea lovely. Nice n fresh. Served with chips side salad bread n butter n coffee. My wife had tasty macaroni. Only downside was even though we sat in I got charged 50p for 2 sachets of tomato sauce?.. First place that's happened when sitting in

A real treat for a weekend away to Spey Bay to have delicious fresh fish & chips just a short journey away. Worth the wait for the takeaway. Seating available in the restaurant was well subscribed to. The takeaway was amazing and still hot when we got back to camp. Looking forward to going back!

Given the limited options for places to eat in Buckie, we ended up here for dinner after completing our pleasant walk along the Speyside Way, our third evening of fish and chips. Reasonably good value and service, and acceptable food, albeit nothing special.

The food is lovely, the place is clean and tidy but the staff really need some lessons in how to smile and actually how to treat a customer. If the food wasn`t so good no one would visit this place because of the miserable staff.

We were staying at Struan House, so this place very close and convenient. Food was fine, good quality fish and chip cafe standard.

Great! Lovely fish supper, Nice and friendly, clean Fresh fish, cold drinks. Easy parking in the Main Street of Buckie

Just as you would expect in a seaside town great fish and chips at a great price, along with a cup of tea and bread and butter. Great

Now, there are various things you have to take into account when you go to a fish & chip shop. What time is it? (Are you going to get food that has been waiting around for a bit); is it busy (are the fryers going to be rushed & therefore alter their timings); what are you ordering?

This is a good no-frills fish and chips cafe and takeaway. I had a pensioner's portion of fish and chips which was excellent and still a generous helping. Lots of other thing on the menu too. And friendly staff.

Went in for lunch and ordered then sat down and waited, the staff were not overly welcoming and i found a hair in my bread, I was gutted but had no time to mess about putting it back to get another. I will not be back in a hurry. Staff had baseball caps but long hair hanging down and all the ladies with long hair had no hairnet.

If you are in the Buckie area you MUST call in to the 'Fry Inn' for the best Fish and Chips in Britain fried in dripping, the staff and indeed all the locals are ultra friendly and you won't have many minutes to wait for the tasty fare. If you return a second time your face is remembered and you are treated like a local. The Missus and I travel 50 miles each way every Tuesday for a fish dinner there, it's the only place where we will eat Fish and Chips so do yourself a favour and call in to Buckie and The Fry Inn.

Best fish we've had in years. Scampi is very good too. Mushy peas are excellent. Came back the next day for more, so must be good. They even prepped my order while I popped down the street on an errand and had everything ready for me to collect and pay for when I returned.
