The Frog Pub & Restaurant, Deepcut in Surrey Heath

Not the best food. Salad garnish for the pasta dish was totally wilted and dry Waitress quite blunt in telling us they don’t take cash(after the meal) and said it’s on the door so we should’ve known.

Friendly staff, great atmosphere and an opportunity to re-mortgage the house for a few glasses of wine.

Very lovely, warm and welcoming atmosphere - starts already from the walk to the front door when you look at the inviting garden with the tables! Very friendly service, prompt and always enough time to attend you as a guest properly! The coffee is very good too and invites to meet friends for a chat in the morning, sitting on a very welcoming living room atmosphere at the fireplace and a bit set apart from the other area but with the „still included“ feeling!

Such a lovely old pub with original features. The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Unfortunately the menu was not for us. Lots of people eating there. The garden is really nice, would highly recommend. 😊

One of the best roast dinners in the area. Always feel pub Roast Dinners are somewhat underwhelming, but The Frog nails it

Great food, service and restaurant. Really lovely setting, great decor and great atmosphere. The service was brilliant, James and Jude in particular were fab - friendly and attentive enough without being false or overbearing. My husband had a minor issue with his main which James sorted without fuss. Food was really nice, bacon chop smaller than expected but tasty. Fish pie was amazing. Overall a really lovely experience, we have been multiple times and will certainly be back.

Lovely restaurant, nice pub food (I had the steak pie) and great service. I asked for an extra side of veg and the chef did some lovely asparagus and butternut squash

I had a lovely afternoon at the frog, with some drinks and snacks after a long walk, staff were very nice and friendly and the food was amazing. Halloumi fries & hash brown bites are a personal favourite… the pie is a great choice if you are a bit hungrier. Would definitely go again. Georgia & Freya were so friendly and welcoming, best service I have ever received.

Been here a few times since it opened and had nice food and great service. Today it was like a different restaurant entirely. The place was busy but the manager was not very welcoming and seemed very stressed. The service was very slow as they didn’t have enough staff on, and the staff themselves didn’t seem happy. The food itself was expensive for relatively small portions, and it was either over or under cooked. There was no point trying to send it back either as by this stage we had been there 2 hrs plus already. I also question the menu descriptions. The chips were oven chips and were unlike any other ‘triple cooked’ chips I’ve had before. Yes, the staff apologised and some free drinks were offered, but even these took ages to come and were not right. Clearly this was a bad day at the office for all concerned, but some of the more recent reviews do seem to follow this pattern. I’ll give it one more try and see if today was a blip. If it’s bad again I’m afraid that you have lost a customer.

We tried this place for lunch when passing. Staff untrained and disinterested. Almost rude to a visiting business lady next to me at the bar. Drinks slap rashly drawn up. Food delivered in good time but over cooked in all areas. A new place finding its feet, but is not bother right now.

This afternoon, we visited for the Easter Egg Hunt and encountered a new staff member, who I believe was the manager. Unfortunately, her behavior left a lot to be desired. The children were eagerly anticipating the hunt, and she told them that if they couldn't be quiet, they would need to go outside. Additionally, she reprimanded a member of staff for a minor mistake in front of my friend and me, which made us feel uncomfortable and upset for him, especially considering how helpful he’s been in the past. After the event, we returned to hand in our sheets to receive the promised "chocolate treat." However, it was clear that this was more of an inconvenience to her. One of our children does not drink hot chocolate, and when we asked if it could be swapped for a carton of juice (given that it was 20°C outside), we were told, "She'll get what she’s given." I have always considered The Frog to be a family-friendly establishment, which I know is a sentiment shared by many others. If dealing with excited children is not suitable for this manager, it may be worth reconsidering her position. Additionally, there is a more professional and courteous way to interact with customers. I hope this situation is reviewed, as it would be disappointing to lose some of your excellent staff and loyal customers as a result.

Lovely decor and ambience. However, food very average and not worth the price paid. Rigatoni cabonara wasn't fresh (£17) and the plant burger was quite dry and tasteless. We would return for drinks and bar snacks only in future.

Absolute disappointment. Friends had recommended this place but I didn't enjoy it at all. Firstly the main 'host' was anything but helpful or happy. No one came to take a drink order so we got drinks from the bar. Had to ask for someone to take out orders. The Service was rubbish. Had to ask for cutlery then got scowled at asking for sauces i e. really cheap and nasty mayo and ketchup...butter was margarine! Our starters took ages to come out but we're actually ok. The mains, especially steak and chips were ridiculously overpriced and not good quality at all. Steak was cold but had waited so long dare'nt ask for it to be redone. The pub itself is beautiful but that's the only positive. The waitresses were nice and polite but the main Maitre D' was so rude and my main course so poor, it ruined the experience. Will definitely not be going back..also over £12 for ONE glass of wine! Terrible..

i’ve been coming to the frog for almost a year now and i have never had a bad experience. it’s a lovely atmosphere with seating available both inside and outside. the selection of drinks and food is great, lots of good options for picky eaters like myself as well as pub classics and more. we have been served by most of the team before, but most recently we were greeted with a big smile from lucy on the bar. she helped us with all our needs and went the extra mile for us despite the pub being packed. couldn’t recommend this place enough!

Busy in a good way, staff and service excellent

Service was slow but friendly, although it was not a busy lunchtime the wait for food was quite long with tables being served before us despite arriving after us. Food was underwhelming satay chicken burger had less than a teaspoon of satay sauce, steak was chewy, and fries were cold, and so was the eating area in general kept looking for the draft! Pudding saved the day, generous sticky toffee pudding and delicious ice cream. Overall a lovely place with friendly staff but food really not worth the price tag.

Amazing to have a pub in deepcut food is very good so is the service we love walking down to the pub only thing it is quite expensive.

The pub has a lovely decor and setting, which, unfortunately, was the highlight of our visit, a real disappointment after reading so many positive reviews that encouraged us to try it. Service was very slow from someone seating us when we arrived to receiving food, despite the restaurant being less than half full. Most of our group ordered burgers, and all of us received lukewarm or even cold chips. After waiting nearly an hour for our food, we didn’t want to send it back and endure an even longer wait. My bottom burger bun was dry and crumbly - not from being toasted, but from being stale. One member of our party ordered steak frites, and the quality of the steak was poor, and despite specifically asking for it to be cooked well done, it arrived medium rare – again after a long wait. The overall experience put us off ordering dessert, so we decided to leave. Given the promising reviews, we had high hopes, but sadly, the food and service fell short of expectations.

Beautiful pub and very friendly staff. The sourdoughbread didnt taste that fresh There were 4 of us. One had a burger which they really enjoyed. One had the fish which looked amazing and they really enjoyed it. 2 of us had steak frites and unfortunately the steak wasn't great. It was cold when it arrived and the skinny fries were also cold. Was quite underwhelmed. The best bit was the dessert which was delicious.

Overall the experience was good. But the service needs improving.

Had to wait long to be seated. Then waited long to order and get our drinks although they sat ready on the bar. It was a week day and not very busy. Service should be improved.

We were served by Julia who was attentive, friendly and professional. The food came quickly and none of it disappointed, my burger was delicious! There were 7 of us and they were more than happy for us to split the bill 3 ways at the end. I can't fault this place at all!

This place is on my list of top 3 restaurants in Britain that I have visited. Very tasty food, incredible live building, the restaurant is bursting with soul. Perfect for a date night or dinner with the family.

Went to The Frog for a drink prior to Christmas with friends. An enjoyable afternoon.

The place looks nice and cosy, modern and decor is great however it is a bit chilly so be prepare to keep your coat on. Also be ready to wait for a while for your mains; actually like a lot… but it is worth the waiting: nice burger, good chicken and the cinnamon cheesecake is most have to close a lunch!

It was my first fish and chips in UK, amazing! But the most delicious was the cake of chocolate (pudding)!!!! The best desert that all of us have eaten in our lives!!!!

The staff were super welcoming, happy, on the ball. The food was delicious and perfectly cooked, and the setting was cosy and comfortable. Just annoyed it took me this long to discover it!

Always a lovely experience, great food, friendly staff. I've eaten in both the restaurant and the bar, throughout all times of year and they're always great, no matter the weather. I would say though, that their mayonnaise is bad, it just tastes like white. Apparently it's vegan and it's always the only down side to eating at the Frog. I always plan to bring my own, as theirs is so bad. Other condiments are great though, only the mayonnaise is terrible.

My daughter has a nut allergy and asked for the sauce and pickles of the burger to be left out, she was told no modifications could be made, the guy was rude, how hard is it to leave those thing out, disgusting.!!!!!

Food is great and the decor is lovely, but their menu isn't very big and they always have a few dishes unavailable when I go and it's always the dishes I like/ plant based ones. They change the menu a bit too and the plant based pasta dish I wanted to try has gone, and the soup has changed. They also won't remove any butters from dishes that are quite easy to do (not having something cooked in the butter) which is inconvenient for any allergy sufferers or vegans which limits what I can eat.

Beautiful building with both pub and restaurant sides. Staff very friendly and pleasant and the food was great! Great options to choose from and special seasonal cocktails and drinks available. Would recommend for a casual dinner with friends, family or informal meal for two!

Decided to find a local pub we had never been to for a couple of drinks with a friend, we were both pleasantly surprised when we visited the frog for the first time, ample outdoor seating with heaters and inside a really nice atmosphere with excellent options for drinks. Although we didn't eat here on this occasion, we will on our next visit as the place was busy with many others enjoying food with family and friends.

Lovely looking clean and nicely decorated pub with chilled atmosphere , plenty of outside seating , on our visit the waitress was a bit stressed with a troublesome table sending back food and rearranging the furniture but coped with it really well . Didn’t have food this time but Will definitely return as it’s only a short drive from us .

The most beautiful mega atmosphere I have ever seen

Lovely food (apart from the chicken wings which I can only assume were cooked in a microwave 🤢), my husband and I both decided we’d have a burger, as on their website, and on a poster by the front door, it states every Wednesday any burger and fries is £10.95 all day. Upon paying we noticed we were being charged full price (17.95) so queried it with the waitress. She then told us that they aren’t doing that deal anymore, despite all the advertising for the deal.

Didn't have food, just a drink, came across this pub after taking a wrong turn. Will definitely return to have a meal as food look good.

We came this evening for my son’s 18th birthday, I booked a large table for 14 guests. Carys was so helpful via email when booking.. the food was delicious! Our waitress Samantha was excellent, so smiley and helpful. We all really enjoyed ourselves, lovely atmosphere! Really impressed with the burgers, such good value on the Wednesday burger offer. Went for lunch. Plenty of parking. Beautiful inside, good atmosphere. The eggs florentine was excellent, but the steak sandwich wasn't good, too dry, meat was tough and fatty. All the toasted bread was burnt for the sandwich and also for the camembert. The burnt flavour was unfortunately overwhelming. The service was very good. On the whole it was an okay experience but not what you'd expect given the relatively high prices.

On the 15th of September my brother had booked a table for 11 for a birthday lunch people on arrival there was a table for 9 so that had to be rectified we had to wait a while for a drinks waiter and call one in the end after ordering the food it arrived I had the 🦐 and roast beef the prawns were lovely and well presented when the beef arrived the plait was bland and drab in colour the veg was unexciting the rest potatoes dry no crispness the pink beef as advised was well well done and chewy the only good food on the plait was the Yorkshire pudding my brother' had the 1/2 roast chicken on asking the waiter were it was it was hiding under the Yorkshire pudding and over cooked all plaits were lacking in gravey had to ask for more wich was wishy-washy I would give the main course 1out of 10 the restraint was lovely I my self am a 76 year old retired head chef with 30 years experience working with the British army in the UK and Europe allowance with the American army in bosina for a year as a civilian on contact the rest of the family and friends were in the same mind with the ambulance of the pub restaurant the food was alert down if I was the head chef I would go and hide in shame. disappointing as I'd eaten here before and had a great experience, so I brought more people with me. The food times were all over the place. Three people out of six had finished their food before the last order came.. all roasts.. on Sunday.. so even more pathetic... staff and service lukewarm at best. They clearly weren't playing with the A or B teams that day... The beer lines hadn't even slightly been properly cleaned, and my beer stank of line cleaner a good three inches from your nose... they acted like I was asking for a kidney when I asked for a different drink... All in all quite rubbish and not al all attempted to give them a second chance. This sentiment was echoed by all six in our group. Avoid. Major let-down.

Nice place with a good atmosphere and friendly staff

No cash accepted. Unless the systems go down then suddenly they can somehow accept it. Big car park with some electric car chargers in some of the bays. Beautiful decor inside. Really nice ambience. Young, friendly and efficient servers took and delivered our orders. The service for our table of eight was exemplary. A good selection of delicious badger ales are available for any CAMRA enthusiasts. The food was well presented and pretty good. Three of the party opted for lamb medallions . Very tasty but tough, was the verdict. The pizza base was a little underdone. My sirloin steak was ok. Medium rare as requested. The cheese board was well presented and really enjoyable. The coffee/mini puddings offer great value.

It is more expensive generally, I have had the burger and chips was OK but chips were like the frozen ones from supermarket. Price 2 courses and 2 drinks
