Fantastic service and food. We came in for a meal with some friends to celebrate our getting married that day. We were treated extremely well and made our special even better. The food was outstanding too.

Went once before. Food was dire. Tried it again,food was more expensive and lower quality than the cafe up the road that charges less than half the price for a burger and chips. Cheap frozen rubbish. Chicken burger buns tasted frozen and the chicken was half the size of the bun,essentially a chicken nugget in a roll for £17.99 an absolute rip off. It's a nice place and location but if they don't change the menu and upgrade the quality of the food,this place will be gone in a few years.

Fran looked after me and my friends and was very attentive and caring to our needs, she had great recommendations and was very helpful throughout. A special thank you to her :)

As per other reviews - this place does not accept cash. WAKE UP!! Won't ever be going back. Doesn't look like they care about the bad food reviews either - no response from the owners/managers. Says it all.

Everyone is just amazing. Especially Carys. Her customer service is outstanding. Jude (hey Jude) is also a little super star. The manager Aiden is also an excellent leader of his team. We always have a wonderful time here - great atmosphere and ambience always.

Impressed with the service, was trying it again with visiting parents from abroad but as a local resident had avoided coming here for about 18months due bad experience previously and subsequent following of review it had been stuggling to turn itself around but we wanted to give it another try to support local business...Tilly was our server and she was very good, we were impressed...she is a keeper.

This is such a nice pub, but the terrible service and the terrible manager make it painful to even get a drink.wouldnt eat here, dont have the patience.

Bad service took 30 for drinks and over an hour for starters gutted as I love the look of the place

Friendly staff but was let down by the awful food which is massively overpriced. Son ordered a toastie for just under £8 and it was pitiful, thin bread, barely and fillings and not even cut straight. Chips were fried to a crunch and the wraps were rubbery and tasteless. A complete waste of money.

On arrival, had to wait to find staff member then shown a seat. Advised how busy the Frog had been and how short staffed they currently were, not a great start. Advised no roasts were available. Ordered drinks and waited 20 mins. Still hadn't been asked to order or received drinks. On looking around with dirty plates on tables and on two members of staff neither looking pleased to be there we decided to leave. Advised a female member of your staff if our intention to depart, nothing said in return but as we walked away ( still within earshot) could here her advise another staff member that at least she eased the workload !

One of my favourite go to spots after taking the dog out along one of Surreys' finest canal side walks, always great value for money , with a lovely ambience , dog friendly .. Cosy and warm during winter , open and sunny during Summer a fab all rounder ....

First visit to the pub, liked the building, setting, food/drinks offering and it had a nice atmosphere. Bar staff friendly and efficient. Only slight criticism would be cleanliness - our table wasn’t wiped down at all well, and left glasses and plates on a few tables didn’t give a great impression and suggested stretched staff or lack of attention to detail

Sam B and Casey were absolutely wonderful! Attention to detail, and working hard!! Clear both girls have amazing knowledge and were doing all sections. Pork Belly was fantastic - worth the special!

A fairly new build pub, a slightly odd layout, with the entry trough the outside seating area. Our server was very friendly, and worked hard sadly the kitchen was running slow. The food, when it came out, was pretty good and well cooked.

Very good service and excellent food. It's not cheap here, but priced well for what you get in my opinion. My only minor comment would be that we were all a little packed in which made it loud and sometimes hard to hear each other, but I suppose that speaks to the quality of the venue if it's that busy.

A lovely building inside and out but unfortunately you are not made to feel very welcome and the food is disappointing for the price. We had a charcuterie sharing starter which consisted of 2 slices of bread some mixed sliced cured meats, onion marmalade (which is weird to have with just meat) and some wilted dead leaves, its almost like they went to Sainsbury’s and bought a mixed sliced meat pack and chucked that on the plate and thought that’ll be good enough, it was nothing special. My main was a southern fried chicken burger, which is literally a frozen Birds Eye southern fried chicken fillet in a burger, which made me laugh especially because of the price. I have added a picture so you can see how poor it was, barely filled half the bun. The chips I was served where refried, over cooked thin chips that were greasy and not very pleasant. I would have told the staff it was terrible if they came and checked back but they didn’t. One was on her phone behind the bar another was walking around not paying any attention to us and the manager was more worried about polishing this one particular part of the bar. He did share a few glances our way but that was about it, I didn’t see him again after that, I guess he probably found something else to polish as he seemed more worried about someone coming in the next day and making the place look clean. Which in all fairness to him it did look pretty darn clean. I might pop in for a drink in summer and see if anything has changed. I do believe this could be such an amazing place to go and enjoy a drink and some food but it needs a lot of work and hope you do put some time into it. Seeing as it’s quite out of the way it would be in your best interest to do something which encourages people to return as they will not travel to be served rubbish. I don’t believe il ever come back to this establishment for food unless they do make changes to the menu and put some decent food and stop shopping at Sainsbury’s.

Simply auful compared with the last time we visited. Slow service.. waited 20 min for our drinks & 50 mins before we received our food. First choice of both main course & sweet not available. When our meal eventually arrived the Sunday roast Beef was tough,fatty & difficult to chew. Will think twice before coming here again.

We had a lovely meal here with friends. We had great services, friendly and helpful staff. The food was pretty good, unfortunately the kids favourite wasn't available on the day which was a shame but you can't have everything . I would definitely go back again especially in the summer as it looked like a great outdoor space

Loved the food and the atmosphere, good 🍻 pub. Outland west coast IPA recommended. Smooth. Started at 19.30 and finished at 21.45. Service was good and pleasant but because there was a big party the Service was slow. That's why a 4 star instead of a Five. Recommended lovely pub.

Arrived 12.30 for roast lunch. Disappointingly only had roast chicken available. We felt menu was restricted and more choice required. Regrettably was asked to leave after 2hrs as table was booked for other customers.

Always love this place! The food is great but the atmosphere is lovely. I love the decor and feel of the place, both indoor and outdoor seating. It's perfect in the summer but cosy in the winter. The drinks are quite pricey though. Nice big car park and fields surrounding the pub.

Nice relaxing Sunday lunch at the Frog. The Sunday roast was delicious and they even had smaller portion sizes which suited my 91 year old mum. The service was excellent and well worth a visit.

I Ordered the vegetable soup on Wednesday. It was luke warm and was sadly flavoured water, very thin and didn’t taste much of vegetables. I had to leave my table to ask for a knife to butter my bread, and I would have asked for pepper but getting up and down frequently was not what I had in mind. I won’t be having the soup again. Staff very friendly too which was lovely.

Dined here 25July. Really friendly staff and lovely atmosphere / setting. We experienced a mixed bag on the food front. My wife's sirloin steak meal was superb. High recommend this dish. My own dish on menu was "SOUTHERN FRIED CHICKEN BURGER" - sadly it was pretty disappointing- 3 s/f goujons is NOT a chicken burger! Also, goujons served were very DRY (overcooked on one side). We've all done it at home but not what you expect when paying for such food out. The Fries were absolutely delicious. Hopefully, next time, staff can at least call out if an item on menu is not available - rather than substitute without discussion?

Nice setup, Burger was above average for generic pub grub and the pint of "Frog" I had was very good.

First time visiting The Frog and it was lovely. Atmosphere and food was well worth the cost. But the service was amazing. Serving staff were very helpful and answered all our questions and made us feel very welcome!

Went for a meal here last night, didn’t have many things from the menu , including the starters we requested. The chicken dish my partner had (most popular she said) was tasteless and lacked any sauce at all . My lamb medallions were chewy lumps of lamb with mashed potatoes that you could have knocked down a wall with . Very very disappointing as it’s not cheap either . Many nicer places to eat out.

The food has improved MASSIVELY here. It seemed to start a bit rocky but we went recently for lunch and it was fantastic. Really glad we gave it another shot and we'll definitely be back again. Great sized kids portions and really tasty.

We came here for a big birthday for our relative. There were 12 of us, including children. The service was excellent, the food was lovely, and the place itself was beautiful. We're hoping to go back at Christmas time as we were so impressed, and it's definitely one of the nicer establishments in the area.

Fantastic place, awesome service and great food. A real hidden gem.

Been a few times in the past however not sure what’s happened this time round, it was terrible. I’d go so far to say the food was disgusting. How you can produce such meals and send them out to paying customers is beyond me. Luckily for them, we had to pay upfront due to sitting outside. Staff just stood around chatting, when asked a questioned they had a “couldn’t be arsed” attitude. Tables all around us who ordered after, came out first and we were with 2 children. First time I have been served children’s chips covered with salt. Only gave 2 stars on atmosphere due to the children’s park next door. Will not be returning and would not recommend. Especially for the cost, you’re better at a harvester.

Perfect for a quick bite to eat and coffee or drink.

Had a very enjoyable meal on Friday night with friends. Fab decor and layout, lovely atmosphere and good service. Food was nice, especially the sticky toffee pudding (I chose to ignore the calories that night!) The only down for me was the butternut squash ravioli I had, it was a bit bland and too oily, but everyone else enjoyed their meals. Would definitely go back 😀

Forgot one main on our order, and service was very slow but could get the bill fast enough. The pub is beautiful. They just need to teach better customer service

Place looks lovely but the lunchtime Menu was a bit small I could have done with more fish on it all they had was fish & chips, got the pie & mash but it said Carrots as well but when it turned up the carrots were so burn they looked like they had been Committed and you couldn't cut into them , and the Cabbage was committed too, but the pie was Delicious , ☹ ....

Absolutely fabulous place. I'm just a bit disappointed that the menu was small. I assume it's because it's changed regularly (the menu had 'July 2023' on it). Only 2 things on the menu I was interested in. And FYI it's a no cash pub! Could seriously not fault the staff. So very efficient and polite and happy and friendly! Food tasted delicious. Very well presented. Dessert menu was short too, unfortunately.

The building looks very impressive and inviting - indeed when you step inside you cannot fail to be impressed by the size of the place and decor, which is similar to that of The Ivy restaurant chain. However, you get what you pay for, and when it comes to food and service, The Frog didn’t leave a great impression. Meals arrived and we were told at that point (not when placing our order) that we needed to help ourselves to cutlery and condiments (surely bringing these to our table would not have been a lot of effort). As it happens the condiments / cutlery sets didn’t contain any mayonnaise and I had to queue with those wanting to order drinks and food to ask whether I could get some mayonnaise. A few sachets of mayonnaise, or a bottle of mayonnaise could have been included in the condiments sets. The meals weren’t particularly hot, and no one likes to eat a cold roast dinner (most of it tasted stale and warmed up) - I didn’t rate their seasonal veg which was a bowl of warm cubed cabbage and three pathetic slivers of carrot. I think the trouble with this place (as a dining experience) is it simply cannot live up to the expectations set by its presentation and utopian setting. The “Hall and Woodhouse” logo stamped all over the windows and doors is a constant reminder that despite appearances, this could be any other gastropub.

Great place…but…Steak just the worst I’ve ever had, £28! Looked like a veal fillet it was so thin? How is that acceptable at that price! minuscule amount of chips, Mushy tomato, overcooked mushroom and a tasteless bland béarnaise. Need to visit France chef, sorry but was so shocked. Friend had a nourish bowl, looked amazing.

The pub really needs a good Summer menu - not just the usual menu with a couple of salads and bits and bobs added. Why is there a stodgy pie still on the menu in the summer? The menu overall needs more variety and seasonality, I've gone there for almost a year now and I still see most of the same foods on there, and the quality of them could be better. Lovely atmosphere and great looking pub, just being let down by the average food selection. There's only so many times I can have fish and chips, or the tanglefoot pie. Please give us more rotating meals! And adding a couple of salads and a scotch egg!? doesn't make a summer menu.

If you're looking for kale and heath foods, this food will suit you. If you are looking for quality pub food then there are better places to go. Plus we had to fetch our own cutlery so not impressed with the table service. Bar service was good

Today many items on the lunchtime menu were not available/ beef tough and inedible/ card machine in restaurant not working so had to queue at the bar for ages to pay. We did get 15% discount due to the lack of availability of menu items however. Disappointing as The Frog has been good before.

Very nice pub, food was very good, prompt and not overly expensive. Edit, unfortunately upon the 2nd visit, choice of food from a vegetarian point of view was not very broad, a nut roast, a Salad, or a Tagine and that's it... There is also some weird policy that means, on Father's day, you can't buy your 17 year old Son half a Larger with Dinner.

Really disappointed. Had a good meal there previously but today the service was not good and the food uninspiring.

We went here yesterday and was extremely disappointed with the exorbitant price we had to pay for 2 tiny piece of Dorset lamb . Whats even worst is the service. We were not seated and had to wait for good 20 minutes hoping someone will attend to us but no one did as if we don’t even exist. Finally one of us had to go in and place our orders. Like I read in some of the reviews, no one checked to see if we were ok and if we were happy with the service. It’s a shame because I really loved the ambiance of this place and a little bit of attentiveness is all what it takes to offer a pleasant experience to your customer. Customer service is unbelievably poor that I will be shocked if anyone eva return again to this place.

Loved the decor and atmosphere. Ordered charcuterie board to share with friends. I’d say over £16 for a few slices of cured meat and tiny bit of a bread and butter is a rip off. We also had a baked Camembert which was quite nice but the amount of bread we got with it was a joke. Asked for more bread and received one more slice to share between the 4 of us. Main was fish and chips which was tasty and the portion was a good size. Overall quite a nice place but the amount of starters we got for over £30 was very disappointing. Might be back for a drink in the future
