The Friary At Coppull in Chorley

Went to this chippy the other day and all I can say is superb. A very friendly atmosphere, chatty girls behind the counter and good, fresh food! The owner came mincing in who was a jovial, portly chap but he did have the most obvious wig on which I found hilarious :D (although I said nothing). Will go again without question.

Went this afternoon as always pass it and looks good from outside. Got chipbarm but took back due to fact that as I was just about to take a bite noticed teacake was green mould. Took back and no sorry no nothing just do you want another. Do I heck money please. 1st and last visit after spending 20 mins being sick

Just called in for a chippy dinner. Not been there since it changed hands Two lovely girls Carol and Lydia running it. They were very friendly, chatty and helpful. Good sized portions ( Large portion chips is huge) lovely fresh fish ect Can recommend.

The staff are very friendly, good choice of food, good size portions and value for money. Will be calling again next time I’m having chippy

I decided to try this chippy after I heard there was a change of staff and it is much better, the staff are friendly and always up for a chat, the small fish and chips for £3.00 is very tasty. Brilliant service I would definitely be returning again!

I have been back a few times lately to this chippy and it is much improved. The menu is good ,staff were friendly and service was fast. I will be returning.

staff are very polite, freindly and welcoming food is great and service is brilliant If you want good fish and chips then this is the place to go.

Could open slightly earlier and also staff should really arrive earlier than opening time to prepare food for when the chippy opens.

I recently went back to this shop after a horrible day at work when the last thing I wanted to do was start cooking, the food was really unpleasant and barely edible, I ended up leaving half of it, I can't believe how empty the shop was for a Friday evening but it may explain why my food tasted stale. It's a real shame as a few years ago the food was lovely

returned back to this shop as I noticed it has had four recent excellent reviews so I thought I would give it another go, I ordered fish and chips and my husband ordered sausage chips and gravy, my fish didn't really taste of much and the chips where a bit too greasy and some of them were a bit hard, my husbands as they had gravy on them seemed better.All in all I probably wouldn't rush to go back as there are better places in the are.I have probably been a touch naive about the four recent 5 star reviews as they where all done the within a day of each other 3mths ago by people with either one or no other reviews and they have never reviewed since!

Excellent food, staff are very polite and very welcoming. If you want good fish and chips then go to the friary in Coppull.

Great chippy ..lovely to see such clean premises ...and seeing the potatoes peeled , chipped at the front of the shop is a great touch proof they are using fresh potatoes non of that pre packed rubbish... friendly staff and very tasty food will definitely be popping in again .. #fridaynightchippytea

I enjoy the food there and would recommend others to go there if they want good service and staff who will have a chat with them and you will get great food from them

I have been regularly going to this shop for around 3 years when I visit my mum and dad and I used to love it the food, it was always fantastic (especially the fish) and although often there was a fairly long Que I didn't mind, after a fire the shop was taken over and to say it has gone downhill is an understatement, I have long stopped ordering for myself after a couple of unpleasant meals (the staff need to go on a cookery course!) but still go for my elderly parents as its an easy tea for them, I wouldn't usually review a place again but I am so annoyed with this place, out of the last 3 times I have gone there 2 times they have been shut!!!!the other chippies nearby (singletons / peeper lane/ skippers) are much better

positives ; quick service, the shop was empty and we were served straight away, also it was about £6.50 for fish chips and peas which I think is a fair price

Called in here after hearing it was under new management... wish I hadn't.

Had a takeaway fish and chips as a treat when we got home and dished up, yuk is all I can say couldn't eat the fish I wouldn't even try it it looked as if it had been sat there for hours and the chips were no better. Never again
