Never again disposable plates and cutlery you expect it if you are dinning outside but not inside The toilets where disgusting

Our favourite chippy. We find it almost impossible to head into Chorley without having a large fish special.

Very small portions, Chips was mostly hard, curry was spicy not traditional was not told this before hand, was given flimsy wooden forks to eat with and we was sat inside, staff kept banging in to me never once said sorry and leaning over my food 3 times to get sugar and vinegar off our table while I was eating, fish was tiny and hardly any fish in it, all of us have had stomach pains all night and expensive for what we got will not be returning very disappointed

I always call in for lunch for the amazing customer service, amazing food and atmosphere i would highly recamend this place and if you like chicken curry, why not try there chicken curry served thursday, friday and saturday only £5 a portion you will not want to eat anywhere else open, tuesday to saturday 10:30am to 2:30pm tuesday, wednesday to friday 11am till 2pm saturday 11am till 3:30pm

Absolutely BRILLIANT! Friendly staff, very reasonably priced, portion size lovely - largest plaice fillet I've had... Peas and chips lovely, with bread n' butter and cup of tea.. wonderful!! You can tell the attention to detail matters.. place is clean, chairs and tables all straight neat and tidy and clean.. indoor and outdoor seating areas. Go.. you won't be disappointed..!

We returned to this Cafe after a long break during the Pandemic. The Service was good and the menu had good choices. Soon served with large fisha nd chiops, and very hot! Pleasant staff.

Gone downhill alot since refurbish. Cold chips warm soft drinks, prices nor stated correct on menu. Also rushed to eat and leave by staff

Lovely lunchtime sit in meal. Fish was perfectly cooked and crispy. Service very polite and friendly. Cleanest chippy I've ever been to as well. The sit in area was full the whole time we were there, and I'm not surprised!

This is the best chippy in Lancashire if you've not tried the Haddock fish then do its a brilliant tasty fish bob on absolutely lovely

Charlie's chippy is the best chip shop in the area. Fish beautifully cooked lovely crisp batter great chips and mushy peas reasonably priced. The staff are very welcoming and we will certainly be back soon.

Me and members of my family visit Charlie's on a regular basis the menu the staff and especially the food is exceptional..excellent value for money also..I for one am a happy regular customer.

Myself and my boyfriend visited today and had the haddock and chips and it really was the best fish and chips we've had anywhere and we will be returning. The staff were all very friendly and efficient in a very busy shop.

We called in today for dinner, it is the best fish I have tasted, nice thin crispy batter, I ordered regular fish, when it came it was like a whale it was huge. The service was excellent, staff very polite, the place is emaculutly clean, we will definitely be going there again. I would give it 10 stars.

Best Chippy in Lancashire. I'm in here nearly every week. The staff are brilliant and all of the food is absolutely delicious. The Fish is fresh, moist and simply stunning. A class above your average Chip Shops and I cannot put into words how good the gravy is. They also do a Chicken Curry half and half with Rice which is great value.

Fab fish and chips and mushy peas. My wife and I both enjoyed the meal as always. Nicely cooked and fresh fish. You can rely on Charlie's for consistency. We will be back soon.

Excellent, take away or eat in.

I go to Charlies every week for my lunch and I have always found the Staff to be very Friendly and they always give excellent Service. I used to take my Dog with me and I sat outside. The Staff came outside to take my order and usually brought me any Sausage left over from the previous day for my Dog. The food is always hot and cooked perfectly. Their Home made Chicken Curry is packed out with tender pieces of Chicken and tastes lovely . It is a very popular dish with the Customers and there is never any left over at the end of the day. They serve food in the Afternoon when most other Chip Shops have stopped serving. I don't usually eat Fish at Chip Shops but I tried their Fish because there were lots of Customers ordering Fish and I found it to be the tastiest and most well cooked Fish that I have had in Years so I would definitely recommend their Fish.I would recommend their Shop to any of my Friends as I have never had any bad Service.

I eat in here every day and there is not one day I have ever been dissapointed. All the staff are friendly and the service is second to none. I was in having my food when the reviewer below was in and I can honestly say the staff did everything they could but I was not good enough. Why on earth order fish if you don't like fish!!!! It was ordered because she likes batter. This is nothing to to with the staff it's a personal preference and I can assure you there was definitely no flying fish. I would recommend this chippy to anyone any day of the week ❤❤❤❤

I do not usually eat any Fish and Chips but when visiting Chorley, Charlie's Chips came highly recommended from locals so I decided to give it a try. Very glad I did. I had the Fish special and since I do not like vinegar they went out of their way to get me some lemon from the local fruit shop. Everything was so fresh and the chips were amazing and my whole perspective on Fish n Chips has changed completely. Will definitely be revisiting If I am ever in the area again. Highly recommend especially if you are looking for something fast and delicious.

I was in the restaurant when the lady asked for the battered fish and the staff reaction was beyond belief. To throw food on the floor in such an eating establishment is beyond belief. To then have the lady removed and banned takes childish to a new level. I really felt for her. As for my own meal, the fish was extremely watery and the chips were dry. Charlie’s has never been great but today took it down to a whole new level. I used to dine there on a semi regular basis but I will never go there again as long as the present management are in place.

Food and service was absolutely spot on, the fish was cooked to perfection. We shall be returning again very soon. Thanks for a lovely experience.

We visit Charlies chippy almost every week. We were in today when the previous reviewer was in. She ordered fish and asked for it to be well battered, which Nick did. When she was served she said as she didn't really like fish but wanted the batter, decided she would like to change it for a pudding. I believe Charlie was quite right to say she would have to pay extra if she wanted a pudding as she had eaten some of the fish.Thankfully the place was packed with regulars and they all agreed that Charlie was within her rights to say thia.

I asked for a heavily battered fish, he said he couldn't do it so I asked for a steak pudding, he shouted at me "what should I do with this then and threw the fish" then walked to the back door for a cigarette. I never got any food Both staff behind the counter continued to insult me between themselves. What happened to customer service? They need a lesson in it. In addition the food is edible at best, no one on our table enjoyed their food. And what is that watery stuff coming out of my daughter's fish? Very poor

A return to Charlie's and it was good to be back. The fish is beautifully cooked and very tasty, chips and mushy peas also lovely. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the quality is excellent. We will be back again soon.

Had a mini fish meal which included chips peas a cup of tea and bread and butter all for 4.50. Good value and fish really nice.

We have visited Charlie's several times for lunch and we have been very happy. The food is lovely, fish and chips with mushy peas. Fish fresh and thin and crisp batter is beautifully cooked. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable regular special and mini special under twelve quid. We will be back again soon.

Specified that we where vegetarian, nothing was too much trouble for Charlie and her husband Nic, The chips where cooked to perfection, the curry sauce and gravy are also vegetarian. Great family run traditional chippy in the hear of Chorley.Will defiantly be visiting again soon. Thanks

We have dined here on a number of occasions for lunch and never been disappointed as they are consistent with their quality. Properly cooked fish with crispy batter (not soggy and fat ridden as some places are offering) and tasty chips. There are other options on the menu too such as a very tasty steak pudding & chips, but I would go as far as to say this chippy is currently the best in Chorley. The staff are friendly and their prices are reasonable. We always look forward to dining here when in Chorley. The only downside is that they are so good, it can be difficult to get a table, though there is some seating space outside under a canopy if you don't mind the cold. I wish they would offer take out service for tea time. They have a facebook page which gives more info.
