Fish&Chips but not as I know it! 🤮

Ordered a mixed kebab at £8.25 with salad. Got a pitta bread with a doner and chicken in it found 1 bit of cucumber. I don't recommend it

Call a couple of times a week recently, kebab meat and chips very small portions and always Luke warm even the chips.

Quality service and the food was amazing as well Large Fish was well cooked and was shared between 2 adults Large chips was plenty for 3 people Well recommend

The food here is always lovely and great value so can't fault that. However the last few times the service and delivery has been appalling. Now I understand businesses get busy and sometimes being a bit late with an order can't be helped, but when it's well over an hour and a half and you just get told it's busy or we only have a few or one driver, it just gets a bit silly. Also being told within that time frame oh yes it's on its way, it'll be 15 minutes, then another 15 minutes. No. Maybe sort out how you take the deliveries and use one channel or hire more drivers!

Traditional chippy - nice food and decent service 👌

Nana Jan's fish and chips hit the spot with decent portions. The crispy batter and flaky fish combo make for a satisfying bite. The golden fries are tasty, though not extraordinary. The service is quick, and the staff is friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. While it's not a mind-blowing culinary adventure, Nana Jan's offers solid fish and chips with a good balance of flavors and portion sizes. A reliable option if you're in the mood for a decent, fuss-free meal. I'd give it a solid four stars.

Chips ok. Kebab - wish I had gone into the town centre. Far better there - more meat, more salad, tastier sauce. First and last visit.

Placed our order at 7pm.I Was told delivery would be at 7.45pm and food arrived at 8.45pm. After several phone calls I was told you only had 1 driver on and were very busy. Please stop taking orders if you can not keep up with said orders. Then to top it off after waiting over an hour after estimated delivery time our food was stone cold & had obviously been set aside for some time. Definitely will not order from here again. I have now spoken with the owner who could not apologise enough, I have ordered from here before with no problems and food has always been good. I feel like I was just hungry and and in a bad mood when I wrote the above review. I have now been offered a free replacement meal so will definitely be trying again and I’m sure I will be happy with my pudding and chips. Note to myself to leave a good review when happy and not just bad reviews when not.

I usually just get chippy from here but tryed the street food box this time.. to find it seems the wrong sauce was put on the chips first and tryed to hide it by the curry sauce. Contacted them with no response or apologie. I won't be using them again.

This was the first and last time I will use this place. The person who served me clearly wasn’t concentrating as they gave my order to someone who had come in at least two people after me. They only realised when I asked what had happened to my order. When I finally got my order it was wrong, one of the fish and chips was actually two fish and the jumbo sausage wasn’t battered. The quality of the food was ok but could not make up for the appalling service.

Asked Nana Jans to make me loaded chips with chicken added to the donner meat, and they obliged. They were superb. Best chippy for miles around, we never go anywhere else 👌

Hate giving a bad review but after the order I just received from the beast burger ghost kitchen Nana Jan’s run in the same unit I can’t in good conscience not warn anyone to avoid it. I just paid an absurdly overpriced £20 for the beast style burger which arrived as a squashed soggy mess equivalent in size to a £1.50 double cheeseburger from a well known burger chain that begins with M. The food looked nothing like the menu photos, totally disingenuous as the product barely resembles what’s shown on the menu. Order came with some dry, cold, stale fries that tasted like they were cooked yesterday. Took a bite, tasted horrible and cheap, most of the order has gone in the bin. Truly shameful. Edit: response to nana jans reply: Your small family business made and sold the food photographed no? And so should be capable of comparing it to the product imagery advertised. The ‘suppliers fault not ours’ response is weak, if a customer had a complaint about your fish would your reply be “this complaint would be better directed at our fishmonger”? My review is an honest response to the horribly unpleasant and overpriced food I just purchased from your kitchen, an opinion I can’t imagine anyone disagreeing with if they had received the order, totally justified to share it here publicly. If you choose to pass blame to your supplier MBB’s products for your customers dissatisfaction and are concerned about unhappy customers leaving honest reviews that may tarnish your own reputation, then perhaps this feedback will help you consider whether or not you should continue to attempt to cook and serve these products to your customers. Sorry if this is a hard truth to swallow but businesses, small or large, family or not, are in part responsible for the products they sell, especially when they do not resemble what was advertised.

For somewhere we order from on a fairly regular basis we tried something different, these were £7.50 each..!!! The cheeseburger one is simply chips with a cheeseburger and onion thrown on top..!! To be honest I’m so disappointed with this, it’s literally just about warm too Addition to reply : you say it wasn’t just ‘thrown on top’ I’m afraid the pic says otherwise I have in fact given glowing reviews in the past of Nana Jans however putting one on on a monthly basis would be overkill wouldn’t you say?! I’m sorry you feel my disappointment is MY fault too

I've been here dozens of times since it opened, but it's gone really downhill of late. I keep hoping I'm just catching the staff on a bad day, but the last three visits were shocking. I should have realised on my second to last visit, where after unsuccessfully trying to order the food for 10 minutes, I left as all the staff joking that everything was broken, including them personally. The wordless scowl I was met with on my final visit when reaching the front of the queue, rather than the friendly greeting I was expecting sealed the deal. And as for the food, it's pretty grim now and prepared with very little care (unless it's one of the Facebook posts!). It's not even close to the quality of Skippers or JSeas. I'm going to avoid this place for a year or two and hope something changes.

Lovely fish and chips for the family tonight. Great comments on fresh chips not oily or greasy, fish was delicious a combo of lightly battered and standard! Great delivery within half an hour. Only minor negative comment but not a majority was that the curry sauce was a little sweet to their taste, personally I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and would definitely reorder in the future.

Won’t be going to this establishment again not been for some time and the standard of food and service as dramatically dived, greasy under cooked and cold items in my order and items missing, my message to others is think twice about going to this place.

For £20 I received fish and chips twice. The fish was nearly transparent, so very thin, covered in burnt batter, more batter than fish! Feel like asking for my money back! I won’t be returning!

Love the fish and chips from here, normally I get an upset tummy after eating fish and chips but I don't from here. The fish is not overly battered it is just right. The portion sizes are just right to the point where you're not over stuffed but you're not still hungry. When spoken to on the phone all staff are kind and helpful and this is my go to chippy.

This is the last time, I’ve been a regular customer of this shop for years. Since before it was taken over by nana Jans. More and more recently the standard’s have been slipping and portion sizes decreasing. This time to start with yet again our order was wrong, peas, gravy and curry were all small portions not the large ones I ordered. We ordered two portions of fish bites and when we got them home to eat their was barely any fish in them at all. They’d cut the fish that thin that it was massively overcooked and surrounded in a sarcophagus of batter. The chips were barely cooked too. All in all a very disappointing meal. I’m not going back again.

First ever battered sausage of my life (lifelong veggie, now vegan) - the staff online were so helpful looking at the ingredients for me to ensure I could try the veggie battered sausage! The chips were lovely, well fried but not greasy at all, and the curry sauce is yum! My partner got fish & chips and said the fish was perfect! We've definitely found our new favourite chippy 😋🙌🏻💚

Last few times the fish has been largely batter and very greasy, leaving the tray full of grease. It should be better given their prices. Not open at lunch time either.

Previous meals from here have always been decent but today's was very poor. The large fish had clearly been on a diet and the chicken Tikka wrap was barely the size of a starter. Disappointed and will take my business to seven seas in chorley from now on

Called in late on bonfire night and got myself fish and chips... Staff looked busy cleaning and getting ready to close but still found time to serve me in a professional and polite manner.... Food was very tasty Indeed and I will definitely call in again 👍

Went here never been before ordered fish chips &mild curry chips very white didn't look cooked hardly any curry on fish what fish mainly batter horrible won't be going again did not enjoy this at all and it was very expensive and not very hot don't knowbwhy chippy can't make brown chips anymore .

Staff bickering between themselves. Definitely has a clique of favourite customers. Vast variety of choice. Fish and chips, higher end prices, food wasn’t exceptional as it needed reheating. Chips were more like chip bites than full chips and fish was full of soggy batter

We had rang at 8.00pm to ask what time they closed and said 9.00. Therefore we rang at 8.30 to place an order in a taxi. The assistant was very rude and said that they were closing. So unprofessional and miss informed.

Usually much better. I had to put my chips in the microwave as I think they had been wrapped first on a big order that took a while to put together. However it was really busy they do their best 👍

The family are pretty much addicted to their battered sausage dinners but the onion rings and mozzarella sticks are worth a nod. Their spicy curry is top notch as well. Very easy ordering system and deliveries are always on time and delivered with a smile.

Blown away! 1st time ordering and loved recyclable packaging and fish was awesome. Well done guys. Just to add to my feedback, as a restaurant owner who ventured into takeaway for the 1st time last year! I have 1st hand experience of how challenging it is. I used your 5☆ service experience with all my new employees in our 1st reopening training today, this how to WoW fish & chips. You could just throw into a poly box and plastic bag, but you dont. The doner meat was excellent and the chips were amazing. The fish was tasty and filling. I absolutely loved the mozzarella sticks. They were far better than the ones you get from McDonald’s. The staff were friendly and the food was ready at the exact time we ordered it for. Speaking of ordering the app ordering experience was fantastic. Keep up the good work.

If you are happy to wait 1hr 45 minutes for 2 meals to be delivered within a 2 mile radius, then this is the place for you. Food average at best. Would not recommend or be using again.

Always a great fish & chips, we've been regulars for years. Portion size is amazing, and quality of fish is superb. A mixed menu with lots of variety to suit all but I like fish & chips!

My initial 3 star rating was unfair, The staff are nice enough and the cleanliness and decor of the shop is immaculate. The only thing that let it down for me is price, its just seems a little over priced compared to any other chippy I could go too for the same quality food, but perhaps it's at a premium for the fancy modern interior, bags and grease paper, or that its just on buckshaw village?

Piping hot food, pleasant service from young people and good quality portions! Surprised to see negative reviews on here, we cannot fault it. We now generally go here rather then our previous chippy in Euxton as they have disappointing portion size.

Amazing even if you have food intolerances.

Haven't been for a long time due to not enjoying a pevious visit. But after recently giving it another go it is now my favourite chippy. The online ordering is super easy and collection slots available within 10 minutes of ordering. Collection easy too, staff friendly and prompt. Most importantly the food is lovely.

Just came to nana Jan's ,i was told i had to order on line which is fair enough, so I stood outside to place my order got to check out and it wouldn't let me put in my order because it's a minimum of £8 Why ?I am stood outside ,I can wait for my order ,I'm one person so I don't want £8 worth of food, so next door to subway it was ,very disappointing,I am not bothered by the online ordering just the pure greed of if you're not spending enough money you can't have anything, disgusting,

Went to nana jans with the family,ordered a good amount around £27,including dessert which looks like we won’t get to eat that till tomorrow, as it’s still bloody frozen! Ordered mix meat and chips which was freezing and had to re heat at home ,which made it even worse then had pudding chips peas and gravy ,which tasted like it had been pre made and boxed up ready to warm in the microwave everything was cold and dry will most definitely not be going there again had to bin everything and go out and find somewhere else to eat costing us double in total should of gone somewhere else

Went to Nana Jan's for the first time what an experience. Good food and superb service would recommend anyone to pay a visit. I'm definitely going to be going back as much as I can. 😁

Was served by Nana Jan's daughter who was very pleasant. Only had chips and a battered sausage which was OK. Chips nice and dry but sausage was tasty but a tad too much batter for me. Would visit again when going to Buckshaw

Very disapointed, the chips were fine but the fish was 80,% batter hardly any fish at all and the batter and fish that we did get was incredibly dry like it had been sat there under heater for hours, I will not be eating here again,

Ive been to this chippy quite a lot since it opened and it was always top rate however like most, the staff seem to have lost interest now and food is not as nice as it used to be.Tonight as a treat for my kids i visited this establishment. I ordered my food and the lady behind the counter was pleasent anyway paid and when i arrived home and opened the food everything was fine until i opened the steak puddings, the suet was raw. It was sticky and way to soft ,now im not a chef but i know that puddings should not be like that Cooked! I rang the shop and the girl who answered had said that they shouldnt be like that and would it be possible for me to bring all food back to the shop and they would redo my order. I was happy with this and collected all the food and took it back to the shop. At the shop i was just stood there with the bag while all the shop assistants were chatting in the back, eventually they took the bag off me and didnt query anything or apologies. Gave me another bag of food and lone behold as soon as i get home looked at the puddings well they were worse than before , so went straight in the bin. I had also ordered some scallop well they looked like old leather, dry and burnt. Well i didnt bother ringing again as its obvious that they feel its acceptable to cook and serve them like that. I have took some pics but for some reason it wont let me download them on here I think its time to consider a new chip shop in the future as this one has gone seriously downhill. Avoid the puddings!

Ordered delivery at 17.15. Confirmation email said order would be delivered by 18.25. At 19.17 order still not arrived. Rang to ask where order is and I was told by the manager that sometimes orders do not print out but she had it in front of her and would send on next delivery. Sorry but this is not good enough. 2 hours for a measly chippy is beyond a joke. I could of had a 5 course meal in and be home in that space of time. Manager offered no apology and when I said well how do you intend to resolve this in the future the reply was I’m working on it. No discount offered no nothing. Sorry but another customer lost. Keep going like this and you will soon be shutting the doors for good. Next time I will drive to Morecambe catch my own fish and grow my own potatoes as it will be much quicker!!!! You should be ashamed of the level of customer service you provide.

Ordered my food (delivery) at 4:36pm, email confirmation said to expect at 5:45pm. At 6:05pm still no delivery so gave them a call and was told they are getting my order ready. Another 40 minutes passed and still no delivery so called again. On this call I was clearly annoyed at this point having ordered my food two hours ago and it now being an hour late so I asked if there was anything they could do. The woman on the phone said it was on the way and there is nothing they could do, she checked with her manager who apparently said the same thing. I have ordered from here many times at home and at work. I also recommend Nana Jans to people as the food is great, however, the customer service experienced tonight was simply shocking and unacceptable, will not be ordering again.

Have eaten from this chippy for years, Used to live in flats above and it was a godsend! Usually good food, but last night took away fish and chips from an app order. Got it home to find the dry overcooked fish was inedible. Hey no problem. These things happen. But when I called I was met with indifference bordering on rudeness from the member of staff, who I could hear talking to her manager in the background. The manager obviously didn't want to talk to a regular customer who had been let down. That's a shame, because a quick personal apology would have sorted it all out, and I wouldn't have felt the need to type this.

Chips were hot but pie was only barely warm disappointed

Ordered chicken burger which was delicious and chips. Child meal was nice my son ate the lot for a change. Impressed by tonight's meal was delivered fast and was a great price for the amount of food delivered. Thankyou Nana Jan.

Saturday night takeaway delivered quickly, much quicker than was stated upon ordering. I ordered the chips separate to the pie and burger, you get a lot more chips and there’s not much in it pricewise. Everything was hot and tasty, no complaints.

Well, I decided to have a chippy tea night tonight and ordered from here for delivery. I don’t have chippy very often, but I have to say this was the best I’ve ever tasted. Chips were gorgeous, fish was the most moist fish I’ve ever had and the batter was divine Delivery was early. Great price for top quality food. 10/10 from start to finish ❤️ x

Been a few times and I’m getting less and less chips every time I go but this is taking the piss! How can you call this a chip barm when you haven’t got enough chips to even make a chip barm . And as you can see they’re re-heats. Won’t be going again ! I’d like to see what’s kids portion would look like...

Ordered this evening. Unfortunately just before it was delivered my daughter woke up and it took me quite a while to get her back to sleep. As such I only managed to check my order about 30 mins after it was delivered. I had been given the wrong order. I rang to inform them that I didn't want to wait for my order to be replaced but I assumed someone else would have been given the wrong order too (so they were aware). All I got told was that the other person had already called. There was no real apology or any effort to check I definitely didn't want my order rectifying. It was like they weren't even bothered. I understand mistakes can happen (and that I hadn't realised for 30 minutes wasn't ideal) but it's poor customer service to not apologize properly for an error on their part. Food I was given was ok (hence 2 not 1 star) but obviously not entirely what I'd asked for. Probably would think twice before ordering again.

Every now and then my memory slips and I do something I promised myself I would never do again. Tonight was one of those nights. When the food arrived for the second time (I’ll go into that in a second) the memories flooded back, I stood motionless in the kitchen. Cold, sweaty, pale - that was the food not me! When we ordered online the delivery came half an hour early, at which point my wife was putting our little boy to bed. The driver said he would sort it and come back in half an hour. When it came back I had the strong feeling the food had just been put into the warmer and brought back to us at the right time. It was stone cold, soaking wet and utterly devoid of flavour. The mixed meat was amazingly both dry and greasy at the same time. The chips were cold and sweaty no salt and vinegar on them, the lightly battered fish was dry and far from lightly battered and had no salt or vinegar either. I just hope my memory serves me better in future!

First time visiting and wasn't disappointed, fantastic quick, friendly and efficient service and really tasty fish and chips. App downloaded and will definitely be ordering again. Fantastic.

Went to night for the £10 meal which is 2 x fish 1 x chips and 2 x sides. When I ordered I asked for one fish normal the other lightly battered. Alarm bells rang when the server couldn’t work out which was the lightly one, I should have known.

I cannot fault this chippy, I have been in a few times & every time the food is brilliant & fresh. The staff take service to another level especially on one occasion when I asked to charge my phone so I could use apply pay, not many food places would say yes. Would definitely recommend :)
