Great chip shop, good selection and very friendly staff, highly recommend the Gluten Free menu

on the 4th of June I have my grandads funeral and we went to have a chippy for food and we had a big order and they handled it phenomenally well and the food was great, highly recommend

Staff are super, food is lush and quit possibly the best chips I've ever had ..! Lads the place is epic .

Best Chippy !! Lovely friendly staff, spotless premises and great quality food. I have tried most of the menu over a period of time. (all very tasty) Love the curry sauce with my fish and chips. The mixed kebab wraps are amazing!

Mike greets every, and I mean every customer like family. Not saying I go here often, but when I phone to place an order they know its me :) Lovely lively banter, fresh cooked food, good portions. Go for a large pizza, bbq sauce, doner meat, pepperoni, chicken, more doner and pineapple (optional). Tell them Steev recommended it.

Sometimes go after work, and always enjoy the food, and the service is always very friendly which is nice after working a demanding 12 hr shift. I always have mixed kebab meat and chips but my partner and friends have had varied items from the menu and they have no complaints either.

Take away with a good selection of food. I had fish and large chips, with a saveloy and mushy peas. Fish (cod) was on the small side but OK, there were plenty of chips were good but the saveloy was entirely tasteless and very disappointing.

We had tried this food during our stay, fish and chips was good, portion was enormous. Second time I tried Kebab which I liked more, as it was delicious and also with some vegetabless. I it a pity that there is no place to sit or eat the food at place, other than sitting in the car.

Went at half 5 this evening just for a portion of chips. All the chips were rock hard like they had been sat for hours- see photo. Service was great but unfortunately the chips were not touched.

Great fish and chips we walked to from our boat on the canal. Takes about five minutes from the canal. Very fresh fish and good crispy batter.

Had a very hard day so I thought cheat and have fish n chips, fish was lovely but the chips were awful, sorry to say this but I feel you should know The staff were very pleasant.

Best Chippy around, you will struggle to beat this chippy not only is there food fresh hot and most cooked to order, But they have a friendly team who are always happy to help!! We use this chippy around 3 times a month and really look forward to our gravy and chips :-)

Cod was excellent - big flakes, well cooked and the batter was crispy and delicious. Chips were fantastic and not greasy. Curry sauce was nicer than the standard you usually get. Recently moved into the area and so pleased to have this less than 5 mins away. All staff are very friendly, just a genuinly great fish and chip shop, high quality. Looking forward to trying more items from the menu.

Small tray of mix inc. their lovely Piri-Piri chicken, salad and chips. Food was piping hot and the salad was freshly made. All looked clean and very friendly staff. It was busy too.

Absolute best chip shop around! Always good food, gorgeous batted hallommi, staff are always friendly. My two year old always gets excited when we go, and loves getting a chip lolly!. Would recommend to anyone looking for good, fresh food and amazing service.

at 5-30 tonight call in for fish&chips &chicken meat &chips & sauces ..the meat was slimy and not cut in strips it was disgusting..never go again

In easy reach of the canal. Very clean and tidy. Staff looked very smart in matching uniform. We had cod chips mushy peas the cod was white and skinless with crispy batter. Great flavour. Chips well cooked and brown. Mushy peas could have done with being a bit sweeter. All was well wrapped and still warm back on the boat!

Very poor quality food, fish and chips dried out, as if they've been lying about for an age. Asked for cod and got a dried out piece of haddock. First and last time in this chip shop for me.

Passing through as we are staying at the e local premier inn, we decided to go here for dinner. Met by such friendly staff, who gave the kids some chips to sample, we then all placed our order. Thinking something was wrong when it came to just over £20, I was in shock to how much food came our way for the 4 of us. Everything tasted amazing, and really was excellent value for money. If back in the area, we will be sure to visit again!

My hubby popped in & came out stating, "they're always so friendly & cheerful in there"......the chippies were absolutely tasty!!!!...will definitely Recommend!!!!!

Absolutely amazing chippy, can’t rate them enough so friendly happy to help and the food well awesome, and properly cooked chips nice n brown yummy…..💯💯 2 days later I’m back at the Fradley Fryer I wasn’t sure on what I wanted, so Mike the owner gave me a few samples of meat to try.. safe to say I had a mixed kebab with chips. The chicken was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth and the chips it’s like the old days. Thank you so much for the great food and the chat!!!! Go and visit the Fradley Fryer you won’t be disappointed, and there are a few surprises on the menu… 💯💯

Not great. Ordered a doner kebab and the quality and quantity has reduced significantly since my last meal there. The pitta was very nice. The kebab meat (when I could find some) was lukewarm at best, there was plenty of cabbage so much so that a name of cabbage kebab would have been more apt. Tomatoes, cucumber and red onion where there but in very small quantities. I understand prices have risen, I'd be happy to pay a higher price for a quality product but this was sadly lacking, will be spending my money somewhere else in future.

Had two fish and chips for two boys visiting from Japan, this was thier last meal with me😞. They said it was amazing, especially the Mushy peas.

Stopped in Fradley on our narrowboat and decided to pick up some lunch from The Fradley Fryer. We phoned in advance and asked if they could cook up some haddock in advance for us which they did and it was ready for us when we got there. However, we both thought the chips were reheated from the night before, (they were very dry and some were brown), the fish was a lot smaller than from other fish and chip shops and the curry sauce wasn’t as nice as from other establishments. We had heard good reviews about this place so we were really disappointed. Maybe it was just a bad day (it was mid-week) but we won’t be returning.

Stopped in earlier today with my old man, only had a bag of chips to share so can't speak much about the food, although the chips were very nice! The thing that stood out most to us was the friendliness of the staff, the chap was extremely helpful with guiding us to somewhere nice nearby we could sit and eat our chips, even got his phone out to show us on Google maps. Would definitely stop by again to try more from the menu, if in the area.

Just had small fish chips and curry sauce. The chips were yummy and my hubby said the staff were lovely. But the fish and batter was not nice at all tasted really, really fishy. So strong i decided not to eat it, just incase .The curry sauce was really thick and gloopy. My first time and I will not be returning. Shame because it has a good rep.

A little late with the review, but better late than never. This chippy was wad recommended by a neighbour at the bottom of our garden! Well worth travelling a little further for great cod and chips, will be back.

Ring up to order food to save me time as I am at work start ring at 16.40 No answer then when he does answers tells me he is to busy with people there and pre orders ? How can have pre orders if that’s what I was trying to do before they open don’t get it they get alot of people come from my work place I always go there and then get this good food but was happy with the order process at all !

I was working here putting in a new walk in freezer a few weeks ago and Mick feed and watered me very well. The food was that good I’ve just called in on my way home to get Fish & Chips with mushy peas with a helping of sweet chilli sauce. My eyes were bigger than my stomach, I couldn’t eat it all.. Food and service as good as ever 5 stars..

Best chippy by far! The team are welcoming and can order our food online to collect which is great. There is plenty of choice and all cooked to a high standard, having fussy members of family nothing seems to much trouble to tailor meals. Thank you again fradley fryer team, we will see you soon.

went today around 5.15 had to wait 20 mins inthe cold to get what was basicaly rubbish. i ordered three portions of chips, when i got home with them they were all stuck to the paper and some were only half cooked i am sure the ducks will enjoy them. the fish and the cod roe batter stuck to the paper only able to retrieve the half battered fish which smelt of amonia same with the roe well stuck to the paper i did ask for salt and vinegar but they must have run out as it did not happen

Mike & the team are fantastic. Great food, great service with a smile and so much community spirit as well. My kids can't get enough of the gravy here but the fish & chips are top notch too!

Fradley fryer are fab, warm welcome, have the choice to book online in advance and the food is always beautiful. My daughter was desperate to try a pizza however can't eat cheese, fradleg fryer made sure she had one suitable. Thanks guys.

Quite expensive.You charge £1.60for a can of lilt that is robbery Your menu is expensive.Everything is over priced by 40p upto a £1 on certain things which all adds up to a expensive total purchase.

Wow, tried the calamari here tonight and it was superb, up there with the best I’ve had. A takeaway that never disappoints; the scampi is great, chips done just right and the curry sauce is excellent. A proper treat.

We use Fradley Fryer to cater for our trackdays at the nearby Curborough sprint course. Cracking bunch of lads and mike is a legend, always looks after us and the food is spot on, if theres ever a way to silence a group of 35 people, fish and chips from Fradley Fryer is certainly one of them! The food always comes freshly prepared. The Peri peri chicken is to die for. I highly recommend eating here. Especially if you like tasty food
