The Fox & Willow in South Ayrshire

Top restaurant! Very nice atmosphere, very good service and the food is also top! In my opinion it is one of the absolute top restaurants in Ayr!!!!

Was at the Fox and Willow for breakfast with my husband and friend. The service and the food was excellent. We would highly recommend a visit. We will definitely be back.

The food is amazing. We went for lunch on mother's day. Had the roast beef. Perfection. Staff were lovely too and did a great job of serving all the tables quickly as the restaurant was full.

We were down at Ayr for a wedding , we went here to get away from the wedding group , it was an excellent choice. Our meal and everything about the Fox and Willow was first class , thoroughly recommend it....

Cozy atmosphere and tremendous service. Had the crispy tempura chicken, perfecto. Shrimp po boy was an experience. I also couldn't resist taking the little duck from my drink.

Lovely meal, though veggie options that I wanted weren't on. Had pizza, was nice enough. My only downside was I found it very noisy.

We walked into Fox and Willow without a reservation on a Saturday and asked for the dome. The service, restaurant and the food was absolutely great. They have a vegetarian menu with a lot of options. We had - Jackfruit Bao - Cajun pasta vegetarian - Channa tikka - Mojito mocktail The pasta and Bao were really good. The Channa tikka was a little dry for me, but still felt healthy and nice. Overall would definitely be back again if possible. Our waitress and the hostess were really nice. They have high chairs, and a baby changing rooms available.

Been twice before hence returned. If this had been my first time, I wouldn’t have gone back. Service slow. Main not that tasty. Music too loud plus loud dinners meant I struggled to hear my dining companions. Over-priced for what we had and their cheeky 8% service charge that is added means you’d really have to have a set of steel b*lls to ask for it off the bill.

Excellent venue and the nicest staff. Setup is excellent, really stylish and the best beer garden. Dog friendly in the bar and garden areas. Food is of an excellent standard and great options for vegans etc. can't wait to visit again.

Having visited now for the third time, I still wasn't overly impressed with this place especially for the price they charge and they clearly aren't taking notice of any feedback from reviews, as I can see many other people agree with me. We weren't greeted with a warm welcome to say the least... The domes are beautiful and very comfortable, the menu is really the same as it has always been, although they do now offer a set menu deal which is an improvement. The food is nice enough but certainly not worth the price tag, portions aren't huge and definitely not filling, I'm not a big eater and I was still hungry after 2 courses. I ordered the same as I usually do and the food wasnt the same as before, the cajun chicken was covered in curry sauce, not cajun sauce, the rice was hard and the food wasn't very warm, even my tempura starter was luke warm. The steak pie was tiny with hardly any veg. It's definitely more about presentation than a filling meal. Service wasn't the best either, as usual, no smile from staff, no chat, it's as if they don't want to be there and then they add a 8% charge on top of your bill, for just basic service. The food and service really need to improve to make this place as good as it should be. It's definitely overpriced for what you pay for!

What an amazing restaurant. This is the only restaurant ive visited thats met the needs of my autistic daughter. Staff were so pleasant and helpful and food was amazing.

Went for afternoon tea and it was fantastic! The food was amazing all thr right temperature and the taste was fab. The size of the afternoon was well worth it the value for money was amazing. Service was great, the staff were friendly and warm and we loved the offered donation to the Ayrshire Hospice. Would recommend to anyone 10/10

Lovely place to visit with the family. The atmosphere was great, and the staff was friendly, professional, and helpful. I particularly liked the dome. It was cosy and picturesque. The food presentational was 👌 with much attention paid to detail. The steak was cooked to request, and simply delicious. I would definitely recommend if in Ayr or environs.

Took my partner for a birthday lunch . Waited awhile at reception area met . There was not a very welcoming greeting.. We were shown to our seat and left .It was awhile before someone took orders for drinks and meals . People who arrived after us were asked about what they wanted to eat before us . My meal was a Cajun chicken pasta . Chicken was tough and taste was bland . Was told money would be refunded for my meal. This was left in the hands of a junior staff member of staff whereas it should have been management informing us. The places are it was not over busy as they had plenty of time standing at bar area chatting . Other people beside us felt the same with their meals too.I was disappointed as a family member had recommended it . It may have been an off day but the experience has put me off going back ..

Excellent staff and food with a lovely location and dog friendly. The pods outside under the stars where perfect. We where only visiting the area for 4 days and we went there on the first day and again on the last day due to how fantastic the food and people were.

Great menu, kids friendly, great décor, great portion sizes. One meal didn't come out as expected. Response from staff was professional and discreet- and meal was still enjoyed. We will be back!

We had our staff Christmas dinner here last week (Radbury Double Glazing)and it was amazing from start to finish. Great service, fantastic food and lovely atmosphere - reasonably priced too. We all can’t wait to go back. Love the Fox & Willow 💕 Never disappoints 👍🏻

Christmas meal with friends on Thursday all food excellent and staff friendly and helpful.

Went here for dinner with my good lady for a rare meal out due to the current economy. How this place is still legally running is beyond me I could swear I seen a rat the size of a Rottweiler near the bin I’m glad I had my walking stick with built in draw sword to fend off the beast. Anyway dinner I genuinely believe that front line North Korean conscripts on freezing plains of the Kursk oblast. Have better food and better conditions. A good vet could have brought my burger back to life unbearable to get the attention of the staff for a drink I had basically stand in my table and scream not joking and my wife’s meal I presume is still cooking now. We just got up and left just don’t bother spend your economy tokens on a better establishment.

Food was 10/10 service was attentive but also gave you space. To the person who gave this place 1 star because they didn’t realize tip was included is such a wild take as even the menu included the mention it was included and could be removed at request. Even if it wasn’t, I’d still have never complained and the tip as it’s very fair! Love this place you have got to give it a shot. Also the prices were very reasonable considering the quality and portions!

Great meal and service for my fiancés 40th. We had a dome with two dog dogs, so welcoming the staff and worth the visit. Inside the building looked amazing, what a lovely place and a lovely night we had.

I have been to the fox and willow on several occasions for dinner and lunch and it’s always been amazing. No matter the dish, it’s always delicious, the staff is Really friendly and helpful and the place is beautiful!

We booked a Dome so our two wee dogs didn’t disturb other diners. The venue was superb, the food - especially the vegetarian menu - was extensive and simply excellent. I’d eat there every day of the week if my wallet allowed. Great staff. All round 6/5. Ron

I just had an amazing experience at the Fox and Willow. Last month, I emailed them asking if they could bring back a dish I loved from two years ago—the sticky Asian rib of beef, which they made specially for my visit. The staff were super attentive and made me feel so welcome. You could really tell they cared about my experience. The food was delicious! The starter was just as good as I remembered. Plus, dining in a dome added a really cool vibe to the whole evening. I really hope they consider putting the dish back on the menu. It was such a treat, and I can’t wait to go back! Can’t thank you guys enough for going the extra mile!

The food was good, very good. The reason for my one-star rating is that they added a service charge to the receipt by default, didn't mention it to me, and it wasn't until I was the other end of the country and reviewing my receipts that I noticed this. I was a single diner on a very quiet early evening. I've never been forced to pay a service charge before, and for anywhere that does offer the choice to pay an additional service charge I've always been asked if I want to do this and it's never been assumed and automatically applied. A deceitful tactic and I won't be visiting again because of this.

Went for a Sunday Lunch and found some much more interesting food on the menu. We booked a "dome" in the garden which was warm and cosy. The food was excellently cooked and prepared with the exception of the children's burger, which was grossly undercooked. Children's food should never be undercooked. I can understand offering a choice of how a burger should be cooked to older children or adults but that choice should be offered when taking the order. As I said, the remainder of the food was really good so I still think 4 stars was appropriate.

Had the loveliest Sunday afternoon lunch with my friend. Can’t fault anything! Service and ambience amazing. My friend had the carvery, beef rare which she requested and I had the tandoori skewers, actually better than any Indian I have had for a long time. Deserts home made and fabulous. We will be back very soon.

After a difficult week I went here to get a drink and they gave it to me on them. Lovely people will definitely keep going back for my coke.

We had the pleasure of enjoying a family Sunday roast dinner at Fox & Willow. The interior design was truly delightful, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for our meal. We were particularly impressed that our son’s meal was served at a safe temperature—something we find lacking in many other restaurants, where kids' meals are often too hot to touch. We savored the delicious beef roasts and indulgent desserts, which were incredible. Our experience was so enjoyable that we are already looking forward to our next visit!

Really nice we went here before the Ayr show and sat in a bubble. Have to pre book and pay a deposit but it comes off the food bill. Food was really nice.

We had dinner here, found it rather expensive & my beef wellington pastry was not cooked enough. The ham inside was raw & tasted sour, apart from that the place is lovely (except for the wasps out the back garden) service was spot on and the rest of the meal was good.

Fantastic service and food. We didn’t book a dome in advance but managed to still get one which was a unique experience. Only quibble was that the children’s portions are bordering adult portions! It would have been good if the staff recognised this and advised us at the point of ordering as it was far too much for our 4 and 6 year old - they could have easily shared 1x childrens set menu between them! They kindly provided a takeaway box to take their leftovers home though. Highly recommend

Lovely restaurant, we stopped for lunch while nearby on holiday. We had searched for dog friendly. Treated our pup to a pupercino and sausages, plus one of the chicken stick treats much to my sons amusement watching her with the pupercino! The food was lovely for us too and the staff seemed friendly. Really good quality food.

The poached eggs benedict with haggis was lovely. A bit on the salty side, though. The menu was done in the style of a morning newspaper.

We visited for lunch on a random wednesday, and had a great experience. 3 courses of delicious food in a lovely setting served by attentive staff who were genuinely pleasant and helpful.

Went for dinner with the family. Stayed in a dome. Was just amazing, so cosy and relaxing. Really nicely done. Staff were fantastic great service all round. Credit given where credits due. Food was beautiful. Delicious food every meal and really great value for money. Couldn't fault it.

First time visiting and had been on my radar for a while. Attending my sons football tournament and this being along the road it seemed like the best way to finish our weekend. We were placed in the bar which was perfect as we had Leo our frenchie. Who enjoyed his sausages, thanks! Starters were very nice. Main courses were also very nice, my only criticism would be the food temperature could have been warmer. More so when served on hot plates yet food not so hot. I should have said but I think we were all so tired and hungry. We ate it and still very much enjoyed but food temperature wasn’t great. I can only assume it had been sitting prior to serving. Arancini was very good. Sunday roast was very good, the cuts of beef were perfect and the Yorkshire pudding - wow! Mac & Cheese side - wasn’t so cheesy, sorry! More creamy white sauce in pasta. Portion perfect! Staff were very friendly! We were notified about the service charge as soon as we offered to round the bill off a little more which was very honest of the service staff. I can honestly say we will likely return should we be in the area again.

Delicious food and friendly staff

Best breakfast in a long long time , absolutely top notch ingredients and cooked perfectly. The kids had panklcakes and syrup , light and fluffy . My wife asked for some changes to the advertised breakfast and nothing was too much trouble. The poached eggs were perfect , all of them the same too . If we didn't live so far away we would be there every week. Very reasonably priced too . The decor and the exterior all very lush and well maintained. This would be a lovely place to eat or drink anytime or any function.

We came here last year and it was wonderful. Unfortunately this time it was terrible! We were made to stand around the greeting area as they had not moved and cleared up the previous guests from the dome we had hired. We were forced to stand out in the car park as the greeting area piled up. The staff were very unfriendly and as if none of them could be bothered with us. Our mains that were almost £30 each were disgusting, the meat was fatty and tough as old boots. We made the best out of a bad situation and tried to enjoy our night regardless. Won't be back, the staff were the biggest let down. Pay a £40 deposit for a dome with no music to set the atmosphere and were ignored until we flagged them down numerous times. Very different from our wonderful time last year.

Lovely place, the pods are relaxing and spacious. Lovely atmosphere with colourful flowers and art (indoors). Courteous staff and amazing food! Worth the extra penny as infused with grand flavours, crispiness, portion sizes, sizzling temperatures and freshness 😙👌🏼 We had the soup which was served in a deep bowl with butter and bread; velvety, spicy and hot..but not too hot. Kids' starters were customised happily by staff and they offered to make them mocktail fizzy apple juice which they loved! If you like sweet and sour peachy drinks, do try the peach and raspberry lemonade mocktail 🤤 oozing with freshness and flavours 🍹🥰 id had added some rum if not behind the wheel 🎆 Seriously beautiful sauces with my huge grilled chicken skewer and good portions of side salad, naan bread and soft rice. The kids' main food portions are fullfilling and well cooked too. We'll be back for deserts too some day! Thanks again to the lovely and discrete staff too 🙌🏼

We love this place. Every time we go out in Ayr we stop at The Fox and Willow as a family. There are a lot of options for seating. You can sit at the bar, restaurant, terrace or in the garden. All of them are nicely decorated. New terrace is modern. Staff are lovely. Food is always delicious. We highly recommend the cocktails for this summer. Hopefully, summer will be long enough to try them all. I love fajitas and wraps. All the food is served fresh and piping hot. Affordable prices. We highly recommend this great place for any parties.

Always had a lovely meal, great service and surroundings

Would like to thank all the staff for the lovely tea we had on the 19th July for my husbands funeral, also for putting on extra food as well as I hadn’t expected as many people to be there, you all worked so hard doing the extra food and getting it out to us as quickly as you could thanks for that, only one small negative point I had was being told the bill needed to be paid on the day, maybe when the deposit is taken you should perhaps tell people it needs to be paid after the tea. Thank You

After being at the Open Golf all day we headed into Ayr for dinner and stumbled across this Gem of a place, we hadn't booked but they managed to fit the four of us in the conservatory, the decor in the main house is fantastic with a cool vibe to it, our waitress was really chatty and had only been working there a few days, she sorted us out with drinks within 5 mins, we had Beer battered Haddock, Cajun chicken, Steak Pie and Fajitas, all were really good and freshly cooked, this would be a regular place to eat if I stayed in Ayrshire 👌💥

Lovely food and such friendly staff. A really lucky find. So dog friendly too, and a separate area for people without dogs. We ate inside, but checked out the garden domes on our way out, which were really nice and certainly warm enough! Small car park, but plenty of street car parking. Highly recommend this place.

Can't recommend Fox & Willow highly enough, i visited on a day trip with my friends. Food & cocktails were amazing, we had one of the outdoor pods, service was top class, 10/10 for our waitress Stacy who was fantastic. Will certainly be making a return trip here.

I was here for a 60th lunch. The food and service were outstanding. The first place we’ve came across that has toilet seats for toddlers! Brilliant. We will be back soon.

The Peacock Lounge was lovely. The main eating area at the bar was very noisy and the music way too loud. Try and stay away from here. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. Is a definite return visit

One of the best vegan dinners we’ve ever had at a restaurant and we’ve been vegan long and have travelled a lot! Portion size was really big, cocktails were tasty as well - and dog friendly!

Had dinner here yesterday with family .it was our first visit to the venue, the food was exceptional, the drinks options were plenty. The whole place was exceptionally clean and very well presented .the staff were very busy but they took the time to ensure we had everything we needed . Shall definitely be returning for Sunday lunches soon.

Turned up this evening for my wife’s special birthday. No steak, limited fish choice. Very disappointing. Waste of time and effort. In response to your comment below I would not have chosen to go into detail about our experience with your restaurant tonight but your dismissive response reflects a misunderstanding of our experience tonight. 1. Having booked a dome for a very special occasion, it seems surprising that you did not anticipate that some of the party would have ordered a steak. 2. You suggest there were a few fish options on the menu but that was restricted by there being no sea bass available either. 3. Our guests could not find anything special on the menu that suited them as was the same with us. 4. The waitress in an unapologetic manner advised there was no steaks or sea bass as you had run out. She was not particularly perturbed about this. We asked to speak with the manager. He repeated the same as the waitress 5. You suggest that ‘some people’ don’t have it in them to say anything positive but on this occasion there was nothing positive to say. I think if you look back on the times we have dined with you before and we have always given a positive review 6. I suggest you put yourself in our position tonight with guests from abroad and for a special occasion and being unable to find food from the menu choice available. 7. With respect to my google comment, I think my experience merits this and quite frankly we were embarrassed by how far the restaurant fell below our expectations. 8. We chose not to dine with you this evening because the menu was impaired. 9. I suggest with respect that all complaints should cause you to reflect on what you were offering for a special occasion menu Finally, I expect to receive reimbursement of the £40.00 deposit made to book the dome a number of weeks ago. You may be interested to know that we were fortunate enough to be accommodated by Piersland Lodge in Troon where we enjoyed a top class menu and wine.

We had a marvellous meal here. I can highly recommend the Individual Beef Wellington. The pork fillet with black pudding mash was fabulous, as was the fillet steak . Starters, mains and delicious desserts all 10 out of 10. Great friendly service in beautiful surroundings.

Food was excellent, staff were very attentive, beautifully decorated rooms. Really good size portions and high quality.
