The Fox Orsett in Thurrock

Really disappointed to say a friend experienced racism and verbal abuse at this pub recently - it's a real shame as it used to be a friendly welcoming atmosphere to everyone.

Stopped here because we were passing, bar lady was super friendly.

Newly decorated, looks really nice, once they hire a chef and start doing food which they are trying to do it will be perfect

Unfortunately there is nothing positive I can say about this place. Shame because it is within walking distance to my home and would of been ideal as a local.

I've only visited this pub for a few minutes but from what I could see and feel. It just had such a wonderful atmosphere, bar staff are friendly and just a nice place for the locals to relax after a hard day.

Really enjoyed the post Parkrun coffee and bacon roll. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Pub had a great traditional feel. I hope this stays as a regular add on to the Parkrun .

Nice friendly pub and food was good. All meals came pipping hot which you don't get very often when there's a few of you. Definitely recommend and will be going back again soon

Had the after the funeral there and it was excellent friendly service with great staff food was fab We would recommend the fox

The place is run by brilliant staff the venue is great being off the road, but the clientèle make this a truly safe ,warm place to enjoy....RE POST: I have just spent a couple of hours in here since covid dessimated the trade. If you want to spend time in a really friendly enjoyable way then come on down here and soak up the garden space with the kids or your dogs. The staff have remained upbeat throughout the pandemic and are still smiling. Why not support them now? 5 stars from me

Small pub with limited times to serve hot or cold food. Beer garden is OK unless it's raining then you can find yourself stuck to the limited seating area inside. I would best avoid as there a much better pubs suited for families within a 10 to 20 minute drive. This pub is more for the locals who live close by

We have been to the Fox several times now. Consistent simple and good home cooked food , great ales , staff friendly and attentive. Even make our dog , Marvel , feel at home. Recommend this traditional local pub. Thank you.

Decor's somewhat tired. It was a bit 'American Werewolf in London' when we walked in but prices reasonable and comfortable enough

Brilliant fresh food and drinking at a low cost. Could of done with a bigger seating area but I can see why that could be a problem given the size of the building itself. Would definitely recommend!

Nicely laid out garden with plenty of picnic tables. Credit due to the owners for getting the place ready for customers. Very busy though, took nearly half an hour to get a drink.

Very friendly people and lovely food.

This is the best pub around for a friendly atmosphere. Staff are great, the landlady is so reasonable and tries to cater for every possible punter. They have regular events that are for everyone. If you want a quiet drink or a lively night you can always rely on the staff to try their best to make sure you have a great night. At the end of the day it is still a pub so don’t expect an old people’s home that’s silent when you come in. Come and find out for your self !!

Lovely staff very helpful, food is reasonably priced and tasty all freshly prepared. A good selection of bitters, largers and a guest real ale weekly. The locals are very friendly and make you welcome, a great atmosphere.

Lovely little pub with staff that know their stuff. The landlady is young and she's got big ideas for the place. She's expanding the selection of guest beers, Gins and Single Malts. The food is basic, but really good value. For food the menu is small, simple and is kept in the region of good quality. The guest ale list is expanding and is very well looked after, so if you like real ale pop in. There's a farmer's market being arranged for later in the year and possibly a Christmas market too. There's wheelchair access and parking too so all are welcome. So all in all good pub, up n coming and is well worth a visit if you're in the area and you'll get a warm welcome everytime.

A proper pub with great staff and a warm welcome

Lovely atmosphere. Very welcoming. Loads of car parking spaces and lovely beer garden with outdoor events all year round. The pub itself is well run with staff that know their beer, spirits and cocktails. Food is basic but very good value and is served quickly with fairly large portions. The beer is very well kept and have never been served a bad beer or seen one served yet. The landlady is new to the job and is expanding a selection of Gins and Single Malts and the selection of guest ales is expanding. All in all the pub is a local pub, well run and is getting better day by day. I'll keep coming back here as the staff are friendly, the locals are a laugh and welcoming and it's a great place for a drink, celebration or just a good place to sit relax and make new friends.

Great beer garden and the added bonus of free wifi

Popped in for a quick pint on a sunny afternoon as pub was recommended to us so decided to give it a go but I got the barmaid and not the friendly landlady who serves in the evening. her first question to me after I said afternoon was "you eating?", we were not so I asked for just drinks please, she picked up a glass and got to the pump with it when a local came in behind me and my glass was put back on the bar as she asked person behind me if it was the usual round? so I waited for the 4 drinks to be ready for the 'local' and finally got my pint pulled, she then turned to my wife and I quote asked "an wot r u avin" but not in a nice way. my wife believes manners cost nothing so declined a drink and I thought it was best to find some where with friendlier staff to drink. Apparently a great place to drink when the landlady is serving but we will no be going again unfortunately.

It is nice place if you have a habit to drink :) If you like to eat, then you are in the wrong place unfortunately
