The Fox and Hounds pub in Havant

We are fairly new to the area and popped into what would be our local, whilst the pub itself is fairly well presented, and the atmosphere was pleasant enough, this was spoilt by the excessive foul language coming from people sat at the bar. This was then compounded by at least 2 selfish individuals who thought it was ok to vape inside the pub, subjecting everyone in there to their antisocial habit. As a result this is likely to be our first and only visit.

Popped in for a drink whilst walking out dog as they are dog friendly. Greeted by friendly staff and management. Very dog friendly and a nice atmosphere inside the pub. We will definitely return.

Took the family here for Sunday lunch. Very very nice. Fantastic roast dinner. We had the lamb and the chicken, both were really nice. Lovely staff made it for us. Great atmosphere and the live music was a bonus . Recommended.

We only come on a Wednesday for the quiz and are made very welcome. Food is all ways great.

A great family pub with entertainment for all the family. Great atmosphere, friendly and welcoming. The food, we had the Sunday Roast, was tasty, plentiful and well presented.

It was the venue for my mum's wake , they were great , everything we wanted , done with out any fuss , definitely recommend , This evening was a family get together, every bit as good as before ,

We have been here many times in the past always good food and service hence us returning. We went on a sunday without a booking was told we could have a table for 3 but it was booked in an hours time so we'd need to be quick. No problem we were hungry so as quick as we could get the food we'd eat and be on our way. Ordered drinks at the bar and waitress took our order. After 40 mins we asked if the table was required we'd need to be moved as we hadn't had our meals and didn't want to move when eating. Was told no problem we can stay where we were. After an hour we told them we still hadn't received our meals, they went to check and supposedly there had been a problem with the till and our food hadn't been ordered but they would put it through now, shouldn't be longer than 10 mins. We ordered another drink as we'd finished the first and waited 20 mins. Food when it arrived was good. Afterwards we were asked if we wanted desserts to which I replied would our daughters be free due to the long wait. The waitress said she'd check. She came back and said unfortunately as we hadn't booked the table in advance we weren't entitled. Didn't sound right to me so asked to speak to the manager. At this point a young lady came over and said we could get a free ice cream and that was it and walked off. At this point I'd had enough said we didn't want it and instead remove it from the bill. I followed her to the desk and asked if she was the manager she said she was. Her manner and attitude was so rude and dismissive and i told her this. Other than her all the staff were polite and attentive but this lady was definitely not. She told me she had had zero interaction with me so how can I say she was rude.... think she mised the point. The way you were talking to me and stopping about, the fact you didn't come to our table ask us what the problem was, apologise for the wait and then make your excuses...Instead you were rude and defensive from the offset. She then flounced off and told me i don't need to listen to this.. im done with you. A couple that were sat behind us came over and said they couldn't believe what they had seen that speaks volumes. With drinks and food (2 roasts and a pasta) we spent £75+ but she did knock £6 off the bill. The waitress I think her name was Izzie was lovely perhaps she could give the "manager" some tips on customer service. Shame it ruined what would have been a nice afternoon

These guys show you a great night, and they do amazing takeaway or sit in coffee. Very nice xx

Lovely dog friendly pub which has been great in helping us socialise our young dog while having a relaxing pint. A great selection of drinks and food available.

Absolutely a great pub,back to the old days when you had great local pubs , bar staff always greet you with a smile and prices are very competitive which makes the visit always a pleasure , great dart nights and pool nights along with great quiz nights exactly what a local pub should be . Keep up the great work thank you

Very loud, difficulty hearing and talking to the bar staff, impossible to have a conversation at a table without shouting.

A great local pub. Well managed and welcoming. Great food and ales - I recommend the IPA.

Run as a local or village pub. Friendly management and staff are always around. Great quiz on Wednesday. Good value food always available. Families welcome and dog friendly. Not the cheapest place to drink but the beer is well kept - I can recommend the IPA or Doom Bar. Drugs are not tolerated here. Probably the best overall pub in the area.

This is a lovely pub very friendly staff and they allow dogs in but please be respectful and keep your pooch under control. Food is just through the day at the moment but they are sorting it to have food at other times. Definitely worth a visit.

A locals bar but very friendly, the food was really nice and the atmosphere great. Definitely worth a visit when they’ve got entertainment on. All around nice place, also got a good area with lots of toys in the back garden for the little ones.

Popped in for a lunchtime pint, beer is good and the bar staff are nice and friendly, however I would never go here in the evening. This is a pub where the locals make it quite clear you are not welcome. Walking up to the front door is like walking through a full dirty ashtray, in the evening the smokers stand in front of the main door and you feel quite intimidated asking to move so you can get in. Such a shame, this used to be such a nice old country pub. The locals need to realise that without the custom of non-locals this pub could end up like hundreds of others, turned into flats or a One Stop!

Always been a decent public house and comfortable garden area.My son and I ate food and played some pool and chose some boogie beats on the jukebox.Lovely Friday evening. Very enjoyable and friendly local.☺😎😎😍

They advertise to serve food till 6pm but we have just turned up at 5:10pm to be told we can't have any. The barmaid went and asked the chef who apparently had gone home for the day, even though we could see they hadn't. Don't advertise you serve food if you don't. The pub was empty which explains a lot.....definitely won't be trying there again!!!

Friendly staff, beer was nice and cold but oh my was the food bad, it was so bad we didn't actually get mad but found it amusing. Nachos with tartare sauce instead of sour cream, I assume they ran out and thought we wouldn't notice. Anyway we won't go there again.

Never been there think it was because I was using the dentist next door but has been there ever since I can remember so the have to be doing something right hence the 1 star I would suggest you visit and find out for yourself If you drink?

Amazing atmosphere. Great food. Great for sports. Lots of great themed events throughout the year for adults and children

Food was horrible and all other customers that where there were rude and obnoxious. Staff were polite and friendly though.

When you walk in smiling faces welcome you. The food is very good. This is as good as gets. There menu is of an acquired taste. The toilets (for men I can only be sure on) have naked pictures as wallpaper. This is not a good resturunt/pub for children.

I play darts here and the peoe are very friendly and accommodating with the darts teams and quiz nights which sometime fall on a home darts match so it is quite busy then. Thank you to all at the Fox and Hounds its appreciated x

Stopped here with our grandchildren for lunch each one of thought that the meal was pretty poor much like a greasy spoon cafe no taste poor quality but the prices were high

Popped down for the football. We run a pub near by and fancied a change of scenery. Clean and comfortable environment, lovely lay behind the bar and football on! Toilets... immaculate and all round lovely visit! Will be back!

It's just a locals watering hole, nothing to right home about unfortunately. But the staff are a happy friendly lot.

Very friendly welcoming pub that isn't run by a chain! A fab find ..our first visit there and we weren't disappointed. Dog friendly too where our dog was treated to his own drink and snack from the manageress. Definitely will be visiting again soon to sample the food menu .

Had a business trip for a week in the area, stayed not too far from this pub and can honestly say I feel sorry for all the houses near by it! The noise disturbance on a MONDAY night was ridiculous! People leaving this pub and fighting all across the street, shouting and swearing at God knows what time of night.... Playing music ridiculously loud with terrible karaoke on a Friday and Saturday - which I'm petty sure runs over the noise restriction of 11pm. This pub caused disruption for at least 4 of the 7 nights I was here... Would not step foot in this place I'm afraid.

If you would like a rubbish night, with bar staff who will arrange for you to be beat up outside the pub after you spend your good money in there. Staff talking to you acting all friendly whilst arranging a mob for outside after closing then this is the place for you... young pathetic staff who quite clearly have no real experience in running a pub just peoples off spring gaining a job... cheap labour!! Not acceptable and is noted all those involved with this incident.. would never waste your money here!!!

Took visiting family and friends to the Fox and Hounds for Sunday dinner and everyone thought the meal was fantastic and very well priced. The friendly staff were very welcoming. We will be going again. 😁

Great staff. Kelly, karen and sara are amazing. Something always going on and you are always welcome. Good food at good prices. Sunday really is like home food.

It's a nice pub now all the idiots have been kicked out food if good. Beer selection is good. Live entertainment every now and then. Pub quiz once a month. Pool table and darts. But good luck if you want a game. At times the regulars don't seem to leave the table

The barman was polite and the food ok but the bar staff were more interested in the " locals" there was a child running riot in the bar and the staff at one point were rolling around the floor with her. Not very clean either. This is my first and last visit.

Well, where to start. The food was reasonably good and likewise the drinks. However, the bar staff were rolling around on the floor and shouting a lot and so we couldn't hear ourselves talk. It was not very professional. The children were uncontrolled and running around the pub as well as they were obviously friends of the bar staff. Will give this a miss next time.

Popped in for a pint on the way home staff were really friendly and helpful, pint of bitter was poured exactly as I liked it and tasted great
