Probably the most welcoming and friendliest pub I have ever been. Dog friendly and I mean super dog friendly, our pup had extra treats and welcome sausage!! She definitely steal the show. Burger and fish was delicious, atmosphere, staff both brilliant!

Lovely, quaint, thatched county pub. Four cask beers & an extensive menu. Beer was good, didn't eat there but plenty of people did & the food looked & smelt very nice. Will return soon & try some food from the excellent Gluten Free menu.

Booked for Sunday roast and could not fault it. Decent service even though they were busy. We had the mega plates and the food was delicious. Was looking for a great Sunday pub to recommend to guests and will happily include this place & will return again.

This was beautiful pub with such friendly staff and and great service felt so welcome and the food was fantastic. We all had a great few hours here. Even the dog got treated to some snacks as we'd been there a little while! thank you, you don't get service like this often these days but couldn't recommend this place more. 😊

Visited for the food only and very happy with the choice. All the meals were good without being outstanding - we had the scampi, cod, southern fried chicken and ham and eggs. It was dog friendly inside with a few people bringing theirs. Welcome and service excellent throughout. Came to just under £100 for a party of four with a drink each and some deserts.

Visited here Friday, after a mystery tour drive & found this lovely thatched pub. Walked in & was greeted promptly by a smiling waitress & was shown to a table. Low beams, so mind your head!!! So much character & history with a well inside too, what a gem. We ordered fish & chips, lasagne salad & garlic bread & the boss burger that was on the special menu, absolutely fabulous & so delicious that we booked for today for the roast, which was delicious we choose the medium plate which beat us & asked for extra gravy, which they delivered promptly. Can't rate the rooms as we didn't stay, but after such a wonderful 2 visits, thought others could comment on the rooms. Outstanding food, Outstanding service, Outstanding price. Seriously think I'm going to regret letting this gem out. Just telling the truth.

We stayed overnight on a trip back from Norwich. The pub is a real country pub with many locals. The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming. All of the staff were extremely helpful. Our evening meal was absolutely delicious and was well presented. Breakfast was cooked to order and once again was lovely. The lady who served us was very efficient and friendly. I cannot recommend the Four Horseshoes enough. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

Stopped by here quickly but wished we were staying. Such a brilliant pub with buckets of character. This is the definition of a great pub. So many have lost their character and English pub feel but this is exquisite. Definitely worth visiting. Friendly staff and the menu looked great too even if we didn’t eat.

A quiet old-fashioned establishment with character. Lovely food, pleasant atmosphere, and friendly, helpful staff. Unfortunately, it is dated where furniture is creaky with little mod cons but does have your essentials. Parts that were a let down for me include an uncomfortable memory foam mattress that was softer on one side than the other, very little mobile signal... but used wifi calling and the bill consisting of all individual purchases and what appears to be a postal slip with the VAT number. Looking forward to claiming expenses with this mess. Oh... and locking your room can be tricky with old style locks. Also... expect to do some stooping due to low ceiling and wooden beams.

Everything you could want for a lovely weekend away! Fabulous welcoming staff, excellent hospitality, beautiful clean rooms, delicious top quality home-cooked food, lovely atmosphere, and great value for money. A brief weekend visit, and halfway point to meet friends. We had stopped to eat here a few weeks ago, the food was so lovely, we couldn't wait to come back to stay over this time, we brought friends and our rescue golden retriever, who was made so welcome too. With lovely local walks along lovely countryside to Thornham Walks, we honestly cannot wait to come back again. Thank you. We HIGHLY recommend the 4 Horseshoes, for so many reasons, and cannot think of 1 negative thing to say.

This was our first trip to this pub and last. The food was absolutely awful. Our mushroom starters were raw and not as described on the menu. Three Tesco closed cup mushrooms are not field mushrooms! As for the main course….£32 for a mixed grill which was piled onto a normal size dinner plate and steaks cooked rare when asked for medium. The vegetables served with one of main course were odd to say the least…possibly frozen and mushed together in a timbal…not good. The desserts were the saving grace but I wouldn’t say they were freshly made. On another note, the pub itself and staff were ok but the toilets were absolutely disgusting and stunk. We won’t be back.

Lovely atmospheric pub. The staff were very tentative and happy. As for the food... not so positive. Fish and chips I would give 2 out of 5. Soggy greasy batter on fish. Dry oven baked chips which were flavourless. No salad or peas offered if you don't like mushy peas. Disappointing meal for the ££ unfortunately 😥

2 stars for food. Beef over cooked and roast potatoes pre cooked then warmed. Strange chewy texture. 1 star is for the shared brain capacity of the staff. Need a lesson in elf and safety. Refused to warm a small pot of veg for my 10month old son due to elf and safely. Then they bring out a low sided bowl of what looked like just boiled water and placed it down with in arms reach of him. I thought it was some sort of sick joke. Well done, you played yourself

Visited this lovely pub for Sunday Lunch and we had an exceptional experience of home cooked food. A selection of freshly cooked vegetables, crispy roast potatoes, meat as served in a carvery and Sarah's home cooked Yorkshire puddings which rose to the occasion.Plenty of delicious gravy not too thick. Homemade sticky toffee pudding excellent. All reasonable priced. All staff gave 110 persent. Thourghly recommended, we are looking forward to a return visit.

My partner and I went to The Four Horseshoes for our Valentine's Day meal back in February and the service and food was 10/10. Very friendly front of house staff greeted us with a warm welcome and wished us a happy valentine's day, we were seated next to a cosy fire which set the theme perfectly. Our Valentines Day menu was a full variety of popular courses to choose from. The chefs special choices were superb. Very friendly pub and staff. 5 stars

A very good night out, that's how I describe this place. As soon as you walk in you know it's going to be good. Lots of people in the bar, we sat in the restaurant which is lovely plenty of space and you can see the huge pizza oven. Service was friendly and we felt so welcome. Food was delicious and the beer was apparently a great pint! We will definitely be back.

I cannot rate the service, food and good vibes this place provides. You are always made to feel welcomed. Food is good quality and portion sizes above average for the price. Dining within the church adds to the atmosphere and they have a wonderful children's play area my son loves.
