The Fort Bar in South Ayrshire

Traditional local pub so no fancy frills, however. The friendly staff and local punters, full of character, make this a great bar to drop in on. Well worth a visit for great service and fare at a fair price.

Fantastic wee pub looking right on to the harbour. Amazing atmosphere & staff are absolutely brilliant. They'll make you feel like one of the locals before you've even sat down and doggos are welcome too!

The bartender girl did not allow me to go into the toilet, she said that it was only for clients. I asked to sell something, to which she reacted aggressively, screamed and demanded to leave the premises

Best lovely wee pub in Ayr! So glad we popped in after seeing this from where we stayed across the river. Carol, her team and regulars so friendly, welcoming, loved the banter and most importantly a decent pint 🍺 So good we went back and we will return as pubs as good as this are hard to find. Looking for a pre 11am drink and chose The Fort Bar. Warm welcome, limited draft ie! no Guinness but settled on can. Lonely for a short while so had barmaids undivided attention and had similar views on life. what more can you ask for, once another similar person looking for refuge joined and added to conversation and then a couple of regulars time drifted and was time to catch bus and end of enjoyable experience. Top Notch visit.

Fantastic staff and pure crackin locals. I only go here when my kid is swimming in the pool down the road and have never felt anything but welcome. Love this wee place so much.
