Really enjoyed but was VERY disappointed in the £11 meat box. There was hardly any meat for the price.

Fish and chips are the best.my mum loves them.

Have known the people here over 20 years Service and food can never be faulted

Went here couple of weeks ago order the food and miss heard the time turned up nearly 40 mins after the food was ready I couldn’t be more apologetic! They was brilliant and re made my whole order which I couldn’t thank them enough for considering this was my first time this was a great first impression. I’ve then gone again this evening and had two kebabs and again food is brilliant we travel to have this and couldn’t ask for better food and service!

The best option! Me and my wife have been coming to this chippy as our primary option for as long as I can remember. Great food that keeps us coming back, staff with a genuine smile (a rare sight these days) and service that I truly hope they're proud of. This humble little chippy out shines any other option within the area.

Yesterday me and the family popped into the flying fish for abit of lunch. We chose to eat in. The chips were fresh out the fryer, hot, golden and hands down the best chips I have ever tried. Service as always was amazing, friendley, down to earth and welcomeing. Thankyou to the Flying Fish Team 💓

Stopped here for chips on our journey home after walking up The Wrekin. Really lovely food, great service, friendly staff and great value for money. We'll definitely come back when we're in the area again :-)

The Flying Fish, fish and chip shop in Dawley High St is top quality for anything you would want for a takeaway supper. This is a local business run by local people and you can clearly see that from the atmosphere created by the staff. The food is top quality.

I’ve never had a bad meal here, every time it’s fresh food and fantastic service. The staff are so friendly and will do anything for you. Would 100% recommend.

Well, this has got to be the finest chippy around! I must drive past 6 or 7 others to get here. The naan kebabs are to die for! Bread nicely cooked(but not over). Meat serving is incredibly generous & salad really fresh. The smallest portion of chips, a cone, is again quite generous. Staff are always very friendly & chatty😁😁A*

I am the first to leave a negative review anywhere that gives bad service, so I believe it only right to leave positive reviews when I get excellent service. As usual, upon entry to the shop, Helen greeted me with her warm and friendly welcome, they had a bit of a lunch time rush on, but still had my order in quick time. The girls behind the counter didn’t skip a step getting people’s food in front of me and still managed to hold conversation in a polite and pleasant manner with myself and waiting customers. I had my food, it went down a treat. Could not fault a single thing. People may question that I’m a regular when reading my review, to those people I say, ask yourself why I am a regular. Customer service and food like this breeds nothing but customer loyalty, to Helen and her entire team, thank you. There is a reason so many people come back, please never change 🙏.

Absolutely amazing, the team behind the counter were great, couldn’t fault them one bit, they are long time owners of this chip shop and I’m still coming back here 30 years later.

Seriously can not believe what i had witnessed the other day standing outside of the chip shop, a member of staff had dropped some food on the floor and then have picked it up to put it in to the box and gave it to the delivery driver! I have had many bad experiences with this chip shop, mainly the staff, so i thought i would finally make a review as well as noticing that all the good reviews on here are from people that work at the place! I would highly recommend anyone avoids this place! So many better takeaways on the high street!

Well what an awful experience!!! Ordered burger upon arrival, joined the queue my sister was in front of me, after waiting for my turn found that the burger had not even been started at this time no one was serving as they were dealing with someone else!!!! When I explained that was I going to have to wait much longer as my sisters food would be cold!!! I was told by the owner that we should have informed them we were together and she wasn’t in the mood for an argument and I could cancel my food!! Well I have never been treated so badly in my life. Will never step foot in the place again!!! Good luck to anyone who is happy to be treated so badly. Merry Christmas all.

Couldn't order as at the last minute I spotted a sign that card payments were not allowed on a Monday, Tuesday or Wed? Didn't have any cash on me so couldn't rate the food properly.

my favourite chippy by far! staff are always so friendly and helpful, food is such a good value for money especially meat in a naan - the meats are always tasty and leave me stuffed. the fish and chips is also lovely. tried the new battered pigs in blankets tonight and they are to die for, will defo be getting these again soon

I can't knock the food. It was all fresh and tasty.. I would have given a 5* rating, however.. I'm sat here now and feel quite deflated... the lady at the till got my order wrong and when I corrected her, she totally humiliated me... her response to me questioning my order was " don't have a go at me, I've been here since 8am, and I'm blind" I turned to the lady in the queue next to me who was also shocked at the lady's response. The till lady then said " and don't pull faces behind my back.. i could be sat home on benefits but im not"... when it came to giving me my change (over £3.00) I told her keep it.. I then walked away and sat to ear my food... this kind of attitude is not ok from a member of staff in any industry.. I could have told her, how I have also been driving since 8am... but didn't.. I just sat and ate my food ... . No member of staff should be saying this ever to paying customers, especially as it was as a result from them getting my order wrong.... It's good that she works... and not on benefits... but how about please keep your personal comments away from the job you get paid for... I will repeat.. the food is amazing ... but the till girl was so rude ....

This used to be a fantastic chip shop. The food was beautiful, but the last 2 visits have ended up in the bin. I understand prices have hiked up every where but atleast make the food edible. I had ordered over £25. And unfortunately, everything was floating in grease. It's not drained enough. I am very disappointed as this chip shop used to be amazing. Unfortunately, we won't be going back in a hurry.

Wow wow wow. Now I usually have the fish from here because it's amazing. But today I tried the kebab because I fancied a change. I'm very fussy with meat ....if it's got too much fat or any gristle. I'm put off! Always a gamble. This mixed meat kebab was just perfect. Perfectly cooked and the taste and texture- spot on. The home made chilli was very refreshing too ...yum. The service is always fab too. Friendly staff and an overall fab experience :)

A regular fast food shop, but the quality of the product, the taste and the nicest staff ever make this fast food to be one of the best in town. Definitely i'll be back every time when i'll want one of their meal. A big plus, they do delivery through the Uber Eats.

Called in after football on Saturday and needed to walk to Wellington. Ordered the kebab salad and chips what a portion. The staff were very friendly to all the customers. Well, apart from Claire, who always gives me the best banter and the biggest smile. Best chippy in town by a long shot. Keep up the great work, ladies. This place has gone seriously downhill, it used to be great but I've noticed standards slipping. Today the food was terrible, the chips were hard and undercooked but also covered in big black bits, whilst the pie and fish both seemed like they had been sat around for hours. I won't bother going again.

I have used this chip shop many times had some at times HAD SOME BAD SOME GOOD FOOD but never complained today will I go there again never.Gave order paid went home no chips grandkids back in car. Was given 1 receipt then another said chips will be this amount £2.50 I said I ordered it why not in. Said also should of brought other food back to re do order was told our fault but yours to re seeing to granddaugter. Never use again nor friend family as service is terrible.

Trying to find a good fish and chip shop around Telford for a long time, we have had 3 orders from them now, everytime it's been excellent with no complaints from the kids! Allways arrived piping hot still when deliverd, the burgers and chips are beautiful, no soggy chips as arrive in boxes, and all the boxes marked up with what's in them rather having to route around trying to find who's is who's. If you are looking for a good chippy look no further, excellent.

Always good food at any time of the day. That was a few weeks ago but today I went in and ordered a large cod and chips. When the chap serving me picked up the box I said large? He said yes large or do you want extra large? Large I answered. I was very surprised how small the portion was compared to the last time I came and it was the same price. I was very nice anyway but it didn't fill the spot. I'm fully aware of the increase in food prices but they should be a bit more transparent with the new prices so we can make a informed choice. I've worked in retail for years and I would have had the sence to cover up the label under the box saying SMALL.

It's not about the food , it's the long wait, no interaction from thd staff and cash only outlet . Waited for ages . Didn't bother so can't comment on the food

Mixed chicken kebab in a pitta practically no lettuce 2 half slices of tomato chicken mostly dried up and solid last time 4/5 this time I give it a 1/5 because someone did assemble it.

Having delivered by uber eats .last two weeks just warm food tonight cold burger and curry sauce .

1st time visiting here. Very small portion of chips sold to me as a large. In comparison to other local chip shops, pricey and overall quality poor. Undercooked chips, were also low on flavour. Staff friendly but sad to say that this wouldn't be a reason to return

I was passing by the chippy , to look at a job at a property around 2pm , u know the smell of fish & chips tempt u ,specially when one’s hungry Thought we’d try some food , so a couple of friends joined me The staff was very polite and friendly ,welcoming We sat and had fish & chips at the table , Great service tasty food would definitely go again Well worth it Thank you staff

Staff work so hard dealing with uber, phone orders and shop customers, and always give 100%. Shame so many keyboard warriors feel the need to disrespect those working hard who are doing their best. Helen is always firm but fair and goes above and beyond, always making customers satisfied. Too many people post bad reviews rather than approaching the manager which leaves me questioning how true their complaint is. If you have an issue speak face to face or via a phone call DONT hide behind a computer screen!!!

The staff were excellent and very friendly expecially Claire and Helen always a good laugh and professional. The food is excellent and a great choice. Now use this place at least once every week,the kebabs are excellent always very fresh salad items, and so are all their other offering,lovely large fish and good portion of chips, and we love the scallops here very nice batter.

The staff member with the brown hair is ridiculously rude. Will always avoid going in there when she’s in. Usually there on a Friday and Saturday evening unfortunately don’t know her name since she does not wear a name badge. Last Friday I went in 20mins before closing time, never been a problem before, but this time the vile woman behind the till shouts the moment we walk through the door “I have online orders for them chips I’m not putting anymore in I’m closing soon” without even knowing what order we wanted. And since when did online orders mean your walk ins can not have food ? I’ve never known a Chinese say no we aren’t making you food because we want to close in 20 minutes. Instantly we walked out and went over to kebab ye who provided us much better service.

I used to come here A LOT about 6 years ago. I'm unsure if the same staff work here, but I was only 17 and in a homeless shelter at the time and my 15 year old brother was staying with me. We were both in education and I literally had no way of feeding him. I came here to get a bag of chips for us to share (our only meal of the day) and since it was near closing time the chip shop gave us loads of free food. They weren't aware of my situation but it is something I will always be grateful for.

The Boss lady here serves the best kebabs ever, plenty of meat and salad always. sadly i called in last Saturday lunch time and a thin blonde girl with a stunted pony tail served me to a chicken kebab? i plainly asked for it on a pitta bread and proceeded to the pay point? when i got home to Dawley Bank surprise surprise? it was in a polystyrene tray with very stingy portions of meat and salad and looked a right mess, very poor for £6? she needs to listen to the customer properly instead of gassing to the others behind the counter.

Usually fab, today not so. Staff complaing at 3.30pm only two of them on shift and was told I can't serve I am cooking sasuages, not great service as usual. Went elsewhere. Only two customers in at the time

In my opinion best chippy around. Go to chips and donna meat with sweet chilli sauce and never fails to please. Donner meat is allways cooked after shaving it off so you get some crispy bits. Flvery friendly service to

2 Ladies in complete control. Some elderly customers are worried about mixing, ladies help, are confident and turn those who have troubles into customers who are capable. BTW, best fish in Telford!

Service awful, 3 ladies behind counter despite ques they focus on just eat/uber orders as they have 2 collection agents walk in. Customers in front of you can easily walk out remember that, they are probably more loyal to you than online orders 2 staff should be dealing with those customers waiting especially the elderly.if u want to provide an online service make sure u allocate your staff,not just shout out about money uber makes on online customer orders, apologise to keeping customers waiting.
