Always great service and great food

Great service from Andy’s! Got 7 peoples meals that I’d phoned through in advance, arrived as they were just being finished off, everything was hot and delicious still! All parts of the order were correct which is unusual for a takeaway nowadays! Absolutely brilliant service all round really

Decided to try Andy fish bar . First time ... I'm so disappointed in the size of the cod .. it was just like 2 jumbo fish fingers.. been going to rays chippy in benidorm when I go .. and the cod is 4 times bigger... can anyone tell me where to go when I'm back in telford?

29/8/24 - Me and my father came today to try a new fish and chips place after being badly let down by usual places and I must say in all honesty this place gave me the best fish and chips we've had ever, fresh cooked food all of it , not too oily or to crispy and hard , all food was 100% spot on. They are super nice and easy to talk to , friendly and professional. This take out shop is now our new go to. Without a doubt thank you so much from both myself and my father.

In our opinion, the best chip shop in telford

I have always been a great fan of this chip shop. Been coming here for years and it is still consistent with the quality of food great service too. It's now 2023 and I have found this chippy to be still consistent. I mainly buy fish and chips chicken and chips or plain chicken meat and chips in a tray with sweet chilli and mayo. I also have curry sauce which works well and tastes great.

We ate here for the first time, Friday gone! We were over for the weekend from Stafford/Walsall and staying at YHA Coalport. We Googled local chippys and Andy's came up, along with a couple of others. We asked the host at the YHA, which one she would recommend and she pointed us in Andy's direction. We weren't disappointed! Queue out the door (always a good sign). Plenty of staff on, all very polite and friendly. Loads to choose from (even for our veggie pal). Great value for money, big portions, fresh and delicious 🤤 Will defo be back next time!

Been using this chip shop for over 45 years , it was Browns before Andy took it over. My family has supported Andys since then,regularly each week without fail even though covid-19 when allowed to open. But in the last 12 months I have seen a decline in the food rearly hot no customer service from some of the younger staff. the last straw came last week when fish and chips were lukewarm and rolled together in a mush curry sauce very weak like orange water. Sorry Andy and your sons but after a trip to cottans in shifnal last night the food was still red hot by the time I got back to Aqueduct.

The best fish and chips we’ve had for a long time. The freshly cooked fish was flaky and white and unlike so many fish and chip shops the batter was well cooked and not too thick. We had mixed chips, half battered and half plain. Definitely value for money and highly recommended.

Food absolutely not fresh, warmed up from lunchtime or day before and the most miserable, aggressive looking team of staff I've experienced. Will not be returning spending my hard earned money to line the pockets of these miserable individuals no please and definitely no thank you

Dry tiny bits of chicken meat. Asked twice what sauce I wanted then didn't put any on. Chips ok. Cross the river to Broseley square to avoid disappointment.

Extremely greasy, soon as I opened the box it was all shiny, it looked the same as when you open the curtains after a frosty night and the roads sparkling. £28 in the bin. Normally Andy’s is good but iv heard it had gone down the nick, wish I had listened. They won’t be having my custom again, if you want a good chip shop in Telford I’d recommend the flying fish Dawley high street, used it for 3 years never had a bad one, my Mrs was driving home past Andy’s so she stopped there but now we’re getting a divorce after those grease boxes ( which should of been kebab and then 3 lunch boxes) I’d rate this -2 out of -1 … flying fish is a 11 out of ten. Anyway I must go now as my fingers are sliding off the phone writing this from where I opened my box from Andy’s. I’d add a video but don’t let you

Can honestly say tonight I had worst cod and chips ever. If the fish batter ever was crisp the mound of chips dripping in oil made sure it was not by the time I got home 3 mins away.Chios were soggy and clearly undercooked the fish had absorbed oil and fell apart trying to put on plate I tried drying in oven but to no avail I gave up when every second chip was raw in the middle such a simple dish destroyed . Within 5 mins it was in the bin lack of care and quality control it was 5.30 and not busy avoid

Unfortunately I feel like when I went they must have been rushing and not really taking much care with the food because pretty much all the sausages were undercooked, the fish was nice but the better just tasted greasy. The chips and curry sauce was great though.

Staff are so rude in here make you feel unwelcome! I ordered mixed meat and chips got just 1 meat the 1 I liked the least so rang up the chippy they were very sorry and offered me when I come in next they would give me it free fast forward 3 weeks later I rang the chippy before I went down to confirm the order I asked if it was possible to change it to chicken and chips as I didn’t fancy the mix meat that night if it came to more I was happy to pay the extra (I think it was actually less) they said ok got to the chippy I was clearly being spoken about the girl who messed up my original order felt the need to get me to repeat why I was there and questioned my order surly me ringing before hand to order the food they were expecting me no? It was clearly to make me feel uncomfortable talking and dirty looks were given you would of honestly thought I done something personally wrong to them!! 😂When it was there fault in the 1st place I mean how hard is it to take a simple order? Very embarrassing! All this Over chicken and chips anyway I will never eat from here again or advise anyone else to what a shame cause foods nice just the staff!

Wow Googled best chip shop in Telford and this didn't let me down was in and out of the building in minutes with my food , the chips were soft and delicious the fish was amazing will use again

Staff have always been rude, always feel unwelcome and yesterday evening I saw them threaten an elderly chap with hearing difficulties because he asked if he had paid enough as he thought he was under-charged. Big chap behind the counter was very intimidating and another lady swore at him and told him to get out! Disgraceful. Chap ended up with no refund and no food! My family have been going there for years, not any more. Shame cos the food is great.

I live in Dorset, so I relied on Tripadvisor and was well pleased. At 5:30 on a Tuesday the car park was buzzing like the pits at Silverstone. Inside the plentiful and cheerful staff served the throng of customers swiftly and efficiently. I had read that portions were huge so I opted for mini cod, mini chips and mini mushy peas. That provided a good meal for 3 adults at 1/3 the price of the takeaway back home. The fish quality was excellent, but the chips could have been a bit crisper outside. No wonder folks flock to this little treasure!

Since moving from the black country to Shropshire I've struggled to find a good chippy, Andy Fish Bar is a good substitute, however appreciate everyone was busy when I visited on Friday, but I feel some of the staff need to be a bit more welcoming and friendly.

Not only the best chip shop in Telford but without any doubt 'Andys' is the best chip shop out of all the chip shops I have ever eaten from. 5⭐

Food is absolutely spot on, never had a bad one. Chips are always so fresh and the cod is amazing! Only thing that lets it down here is the customer service, older lady with dirty blonde hair is always rude. On my last visit I was stood waiting directly opposite her and she did not serve me, instead continued her conversation with a customer, and then someone else walked in and she went to serve him straight away so I had to intervene and let her know I had been patiently waiting for her but don’t appreciate her choosing to not serve me and serve the man Behind me in the queue instead. Always very bad service from this lady, she never smiles and it does make an atmosphere in the shop. Apart from that tho the rest of the staff are lovely and fortunately for owner the food is to good to let your rude staff member stop people coming in but it may be worth speaking with her as it is frustrating and uncomfortable.

The best chippy in Telford, Chips are always good, its always busy in this chippy. That's a good sign of being a very good chippy. Decent Menu. The Value Box with a small Fish, Sausage, Chips and a choice off either Mushy Peas, gravy or curry sauce for around a fiver is great value

now ive been to alot of chippies but this place tops them all. not a single bad word to say 10 10

Always have a good experience at Andy's. I pass by 4 other chip shops to get to this one. Oh and the mushy peas are really nice (or so my wife's says) but they come out a really strange green colour. Which as a family was agreed on a the colour of the hulks snot. Can't recommend it highly enough. If you haven't tried it out then definitely give them a try you won't be disappointed. They take card payments now so makes the process even easier.

Possibly the best chippy in Telford if not miles further. No matter what food they serve it is always delicious. The staff are always lovely and polite and busy . We've been going to Andy for years now. We've tried other F&C shops but this us the best We've found. If you prefer Haddock, its worth calling in your order in advance, give them 15-20 mins notice though. Never been disappointed with the quality and quantity from Andys
