Friday night catch up with the girls - lovely ambience as always and great staff, friendly and attentive but not overbearing. Two of us were dining - great burgers, one chicken and one “authentic utter” with all the trimmings. One of our group just staying for drinks was delighted to find a selection of fruit teas available 😃 A lovely evening - thank you.

Following a great meal last year we booked again for Christmas dinner. ‘Stuffed mushrooms’ turned out to be ONE sad cold mushroom on a bed of rocket. We emailed ahead to see if they were doing Yorkshire puds on their Turkey dinner . They confirmed they were, but there was no sign of those. The meat was very tough but the veggies were good. Two of our party sent their mains back .The halibut was delivered with a muller yogurt wrapper in it and my veg wellington’s pastry was raw and inedible. By this point , we had given up. Having had half a mushroom and no main meal I ate two stale crackers from the cheese board , paid the bill and left hungry. Needless to say, we won’t be back. Think this was the biggest disappointment of the year!

DO NOT GO HERE. We went for a bottomless brunch; since they had 2 people working a busy lunch service on a Saturday, our glasses were filled twice in 90 minutes. The food was horrific; the burger was cooked to the point it was burnt, eggs on “sourdough” bread was freezing cold and served on a cheap white slice of toast. Genuinely the worst meal we’ve ever eaten; just go up the road to the Phoenix or the Magpie instead, both of whom adequately staff their establishments and serve edible food.

Been twice recently and both times told a few wine choices we made weren’t available. Table was dirty. Manager sat, as usual, on customer side at the bar watching his staff run ragged. We turned up to be greeted by a smiley waitress who took our drink orders as we walked to the table - very keen! One of our party members asked for a double gin and tonic - and got 2 x single ones.... She asked if we had been there before (we hadn't) so explained that she would give us a menu, we could choose what we'd like to eat and then she'd bring it to our table...um ok! That's the service we usually have when we go out to eat... When ordering the vegan pie, we were asked if we'd like steak and ale or steak and kidney..... Food took over an hour to come (shame there were no ribs as per the website menu as that's actually why we went there), but the food we had was hot, tasty and good. We had hoped to use our Gourmet Society card but the very smiley waitress told us they didn't take it - which is different from what the Gourmet Society website says.... Not entirely the evening we had hoped for, but since we had an hour's wait and therefore an hour's drinking without food, the overall experience was jolly. I'm not sure I'd go back there though.

Early evening meal (5.30). Very loud table of 10+ friends, adults and young children, on table next to us. Literally shouting at each other requiring us to wait to finish sentences. Occasional bad language. F@@@. Had two 8 year old girls with us. Not ideal. Blessed peace when most went outside for a cigarette. Told our charming young waitress who said it was a “vibrant” pub, although she did apologise for the noise when we left. My food was poor- halloumi salad turned out to be shredded lettuce with a small amount of cucumber, red onion and tomato. I asked for dressing on the side but it came with nasty dressing with taste of salad cream already in it. Halloumi was fried cubes - admittedly lots of it. Should have sent it back but didn’t as guest of family. Had flat white coffee after which was surprisingly good. Fed this back to the waitress. Would not recommend it and would not go again..

We booked a table for this afternoon & on arrival got shown to a nice table. Had to wait for waitress to come up and take a drinks order. We were initially a party of 5 and were given one food menu between us all. Could be due to COVID restrictions but were not advised to look at menu on line either. Drinks took a while to come. We asked about cocktails but were told a couple were unavailable due to not having ingredients. A friend asked about an aperol spritz but were advised they were running out of aperol. A friend asked for lime for a corona, they didn’t have any.We asked if we could run a tab but advised not.We then asked for another drink but the waitress we asked said she couldn’t take our order, it was the other waitress who took the orders, she just served them - they were trying a new system.Clearly, the system of one taking orders, the other delivers didn’t work. Service was slow and the one delivering the drinks wasn’t sure which table she should deliver the drinks to.In the meanwhile,Sam the bar manager who looked like he was on a day off and with a group of friends was enjoying attention from the waiting staff. We ordered food which was delivered about 40 mins later (6meals) . We received the meals but had to ask for sauces, cutlery, salt and pepper and napkins. Surely, knowing our order, this should have been brought before our food? My friend had to go in and get ketchup as her food was getting cold.My friend and I shared a Camembert and asked for more bread which we did get, but with dipping oil, which we did nor ask for, but was charged for.So a not very enjoyable experience, not the girls fault but it seems the direction they had been given.Surely the priority should be customer service which was clearly lacking. Not necessarily due to the girls on duty but by the lack of organisation.Appreciate that pubs have suffered due to COVID but on re-opening should be in top of their game. Be fully stocked, have ingredients and be ready. It seems the Flowerpot lacked in these areas....If the pub creates a bigger seating area to hope to drum up custom, make sure you know how to service it. We might have been older than some others in there but that doesn’t mean we should receive inferior service or be ignored. This is our local and we hope to go back but please sort your customer service out.

Booked table, paid £30 deposit for 3 people. Sat at table and music was very loud. I asked a lovely waitress if they could turn it down a tad so we could here each other talk. Music went down and we ordered our meal. Food and service was great by the way so no complaints there. Music volume went back up and 2 tables very close to us that had 6 people on each, were by now up dancing and singing along. Now, I’m no covid police. Ive been out and about supporting pubs, restaurants, cinemas, bars and theatres, but I genuinely didn’t feel safe. They were a young group and clearly fell under the low risk category regarding Covid, but being slightly older and along with several other elderly people sitting close by, it was a concern that the management had no intention of asking them to sit down until we pointed it out to one of the staff. We thought they’d want to know that if police walked in at that moment, they’d be in a lot of trouble. I had one girl literally twerking right behind me Now, this wouldn’t normally bother me but as we all know that’s a No No right now and we all have a part to play. So, I fear unless this pub gets it sorted, it may be in even more trouble than it currently is. As we left, I looked into 3 other pubs in same street. They were all very busy and looking very safe. The Flower Pot wasn’t full and this makes me wonder if this is the reason why I get it that bums on seats mean an income, but it has to be done properly so other customers feel confident that they’re safe.

Was the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Had to wait 15 mins for drinks to be served a mojito that tasted like something was off. Sent it back to receive a gin and tonic that had two brown lime slices in! We waited over 50 minutes for our food, when I asked they said “the chef is just about to start cooking”. We decided to leave early and take the business elsewhere. (We still had to pay for our drinks).

No staff, one person working, answering phones, cleaning and trying to serve several customers. The owner (apparently) orders the beer and clearly doesn’t bother looking at the weather report for the week. While waiting for the only member of t Staff to get off the phone to serve, another customer was moaning the same beer was off last week. Give this pub to someone who is interested in customer satisfaction rather than profits. It’s all about quality, not cutting back on essentials. The owners will lose in the end!!!

The headboard on one of the beds was collapsing, And there were dents in the wall.We complained to the staff and was told there were no other rooms. So we said we won't be staying and was told tough because you've already paid so no refund. We have contacted booking.com and the pub for a refund and have heard nothing so are seriously considering taking this dump to the small claims court for the inconvenience and the cost of booking into a local hotel. Been here several times previously and so phoned to book a table for some weekend cocktails based on the literature on their own website advertising ‘two cocktails for £10 during happy hour 5-8pm EVERYDAY’.Turned up well within the specified time and ordered two mojitos (which one of the barmaid said couldn’t remember how to make!). They then tried to charge me £15 for the privilege instead of the online advertised £10.When the staff were respectfully challenged by confronting them with their own advertising and asked as to why as that was the case and not the £10, the response was ‘we’ve changed our prices recently and they would ‘get round’ to changing their website’. In the meantime it was an extra £5 and resolutely refused to honour what was advertised on their own website. When asked what they wanted me to do, the response was “pay £15 please, that’s the price”. Wasnt happening - could have chosen to change their prices 5mins before we walked in for all I know and want sure that’s how advertising worked!I’m not a mystery shopper or routinely difficult and at the end of the day was only a fiver, but couldn’t be bothered with the confrontation and was their error in advertising not mine. Had they honoured it would have sat there for the remaining happy hour and beyond spending as much as they could keep them coming. Instead they lost two loyal customers in the process as we went somewhere else. Not inclined to return in the future as a result of this negative experience.Nearly a week on, the advertisement is still the same and online. Disappointing.

This is not just a great pub with a restaurant but has rooms as well. I always stay here when I’m in the area and always very happy. The restaurant in the pub excelled itself last night, I intended to have a light meal but when I was told their pie of the day was home made chicken and ham I couldn’t resist, and very glad I didn’t as I can honestly say it was the best pie I have had for 10 years or more. No way to describe except totally yummy. My room was pretty well perfect, well equipped and the layout meant everything was where you needed it. Enough plugs for charging electronics and one below the mirror for the hairdryer which is missing in many hotels. Lovely big fluffy bath sheets, good quality toiletries, aNespresso machine and very comfy bed. Breakfast which is included in the price is freshly cooked and a good choice including kippers! Being right by the Thames it’s a good location, even though I was staying for business it’s nice to be able to walk along the banks of the river in the morning. I thoroughly recommend this pub with rooms, although having only eight rooms in total I hope it doesn’t get so popular that I can’t get a room in future!

We met our daughter and her husband for what, we thought, looking at the menu and the bistro style surroundings would be a nice evening. How wrong could we have been! Firstly it's not clear whether it's table service or bar ordering - if it's table service then it's awful! We had to ask for the front door to be closed because smoke from the smoking area drifted into the restaurant which was really unpleasant. My wife ordered the fish sharing platter which arrived with a skinny bit of mackerel and a mountain of bread - there were a few prawns and a small piece of hot smoked salmon. I would hardly call it a fish platter and certainly not to share unless you enjoy eating bread! I had a burger which was pretty ordinary as was the rest of the food we ordered. All in all not a great experience and we certainly wouldn't return or recommend it.

I hate to write negative reviews but The Flower Pot seriously let us down recently when we brought some friends here for lunch. We have eaten here before and the pub do a good value Sunday lunch in particular. On this occasion, we booked a table for seven for a 2pm lunch. We knew the kitchen closed at 3pm but when the booking was taken by the manager we were assured all would be fine. We arrived promptly, got drinks and sat at out table that was ready for us. Then we waited. And waited.... and waited ... the one person we could find was far too busy in the bar to give us enough attention to order any food. We spoke to the chef in the kitchen who could not help ... after 25 minutes of no one paying us any attention we left. If was very embarrassing for us but our friends were understanding. Luckily the lovely Cafe C could accommodate us even though they close at 3pm as well. The management at The Flower Pot need to understand that you can leave one person to run the restaurant bar and hotel reception even at times when it's not busy.

Management when we visited the last time was shameless and aggressive, everyone we know who is local has their own bitter story to tell and would never return.I do not understand how the owners or staff do not try to improve this pub after such dire reviews, well do I ? Frankly they do not care about rude indifferent service and below par over priced food.I am still very ashamed and embarrassed I took my family of ten there for my aunts birthday. Service was extremely slow, especially considering we were the second table there. Out of the ten meals ordered, three were incorrect, one arrived 45 later after numerous complaints, it was just so awful.I had to leave early, due to other reasons. The next day found out the manager shouted and disputed the problems with the food and extra drinks added to the bill.Unless the manager, all the staff, including the chef's and other cooks have left, there will never be any hope. I really do implore anyone considering The Flower Pot to avoid this unfriendly establishment. If you want everyone to stare at you when you walk through the door, then simultaneously be ignored, you enter at your own risk.

This is a lovely little pub it feels cosy and warm, it is a great place for couples as its very relaxed and easy to converse. the food is always of a good quality and I feel is fairly priced given the location.

If we'd known this was the sister restaurant of The Bell in Hampton we'd never have come. Like its sister this place has potential but it's just not good enough. The white wine was not chilled and since when do you put ice in a wine cooler, get ice buckets or chill the wine properly in the first place. One starter was cold and had to be sent back. The fish was far too battery. The table felt sticky to the touch. All in all a disappointing experience, no idea how this gets 4 stars

We popped in for dinner, none of the steaks were done correctly we got no sauces, and others didn't get what they ordered. Should be avoided, seemed like a good place to eat but we were wrong. Went away hungry.

This is a pub / hotel which is exceptionally good. The staff are AMAZING. The pub itself is good and the menu is lovely. The rooms are tremendous really spacious and decorated with real attention to detail. The only down side is that there is only 4 parking spaces but there are side streets where parking is available nearby. I cannot recommend this place enough.

After being let down by an another hotel in Richmond, we managed to make a quick, bargain of a booking at The Flowerpot. We had stayed previously and were super impressed with the room and the service, and once again they were amazingly accommodating! Staff are lovely and extremely helpful and the breakfasts are lovely, can't wait to stay again! Thank you so much to everyone at The Flowerpot!

This is a great little pub to visit. Good atmosphere, great for just popping in for a drink, or for having a meal.Food is tasty, staff are professional. Charlie and Marta are friendly and always happy to serve. Only one small negative is, that the patio area, is pleasant, but the furniture is well and truly passed its best. Could do with an upgrade, as there are other pubs with gardens and patios in the area in better condition. Other than that I would recommend a visit.

Came here with my partner for dinner and a few drinks on a Saturday night. It's the second time we have eaten here and both times now we have really enjoyed the food, which we were assured was all freshly cooked. My girlfriend had the steak and I had the lamb shank which was a special on the day we were there. The lamb was really good and I would order it next time if it is on the menu! Shame there was only the one choice of cask ale (which was one I personally don't like too much) but that's me as a beer snob being fussy. The Shipyard Pale Ale was a good alternative. All in all, definitely recommend this place!

We stayed here for one night and ate in the restaurant which looks very inviting. The young lady who served us was very attentive. The menu is limited but sometimes less is more. We had a garlic bread to share while waiting for our roast dinners. The assortment of vegetables with this was great and the portion sizes were huge. Our starter, gin and tonic, beer, two roast dinners and a bottle of red wine came to £58. Would certainly recommend this pub.

Pub food is about basics. Solid menu with some classics and innovation, look at the Red Lion in Shepperton or 3 Horseshoes in Laleham who do it well for comparable prices. Food just okay, presentation poor, wait long, service mediocre at best, prices high, wine list limited but okay, atmosphere non existent because unlike most good local pubs people are not choosing to come back.Simple stuff not done simply!

This was the first time I had visited since the change of ownership and menu. Previously this had been a favourite hostelry but was so disappointed. Visited on a quiet Friday lunchtime. The menu was limited with Okish service but there seemed to be a very long wait for our food, even though we were the first to order, and when it arrived it was bland. Such a shame when the interior is lovely. Wont be hurrying back.

One Sunday we decided to try our The Flower Pot for the first time to eat. The roasts we all ordered we delicious and piping hot, but the puddings let it down. Our daughter ordered a chocolate brownie which was burnt throughout inside. The service was okay, not the best. On our second visit should you only wish to visit for a drink be warned don't go on a Sunday as they prefer if you are staying to eat as you take up a much needed table. They seemed to be short staffed?

Six of us visited the pub on a Saturday evening for a meal. One couple had been a few times before and rated it highly so we were looking forward to it. The waitress took our drinks order then came back for the food order. She was fun and didn't seem to mind when one of our number requested a burger with all the trimmings but with halloumi instead of the beefburger. The starters arrived and were very good then there was a long delay before the main courses arrived. However we didn't mind as we were having fun listening to the live act murdering rock classics. When the mains arrived my friend was disappointed to find that they'd left the bacon off the burger - possibly assuming she was vegetarian though she'd made it clear to the waitress that it was only beef that she didn't like. My spicy pulled chicken pizza was possibly the blandest pizza I'd ever tasted - the sauce didn't taste of tomatoes let alone spice! But I have to say that the duck burgers ordered by three of the party were apparently very enjoyable.Unfortunately the fun, efficient waitress was busy elsewhere when my friend asked for a white wine spritzer and the poor girl who took the order didn't seem to have a clue, despite us explaining it to her several times, as a glass of undiluted white wine arrived. A later request for a coke was forgotten though it miraculously appeared on the bill. Finally the desserts were also forgettable. I chose lemon drizzle cake with mango sorbet expecting a light fluffy sponge with a tangy lemon sugar crust. However this version had the firm, coarse texture of a polenta cake with a crust a couple of shades lighter than burnt. The apple, plum and cinnamon crumble chosen by two of the party was renamed cinnamon, apple and plum crumble due to the overpowering amount of the spice used.Maybe I was just unlucky with the dishes I ordered as some of our party were very happy with theirs but I won't be hurrying back.

The kids have just turned that age when we don’t need to pay for a babysitter so on Valentine’s Day my wife and I went out for probably our 2nd ‘date night’ and hoped for a nice quiet romantic dinner for two together. We have been to the Flowerpot a number of times before so we knew to expect good food and good service. The waitress bought our drinks and accidentally spilt my wife’s wine on her, the waitress was very apologetic but it didn't set the scene for the type of evening we hoped for. My wife ordered off the Valentine’s Day set menus, two courses for whatever, and I ordered off the usual menu a “baked to order and can be adapted on request” pizza but being a vegetarian asked for no ham, and we settled done to enjoy our romantic night. Then quiz night erupted around us with a guy shouting out questions not four foot from our table. Then the food arrived, my pizza covered in ham so I sent it back, it eventually re-arrived about 10 minutes after my wife had finished her main course and had her plate taken away. After me sitting there for 20 minutes watching my wife eat, she could now sit and watch me eat all with the Quiz Night booming around us.So how did we feel about our nice quiet romantic dinner for two together, well we didn’t actually eat ‘together’ and not exactly romantic due to that plus the spilt wine and pub quiz. The food was as usual very good and the manager, I assume she was, was very apologetic for the service. I understand that people make mistakes with the orders but will we go there again ?…..probably but their sister pub, The Phenoix, is next on our list – wish us luck.

Have just been back for a meal after over a year away & it was still up to it's high standards. My elderly father in law was in a local care home. Every week we wheeled him to the Flowerpot for a meal & pint. In fact brothers did it too so he often visited 2 or 3 times a week. He said those visits were the highlight of his week. Sadly he passed away last Christmas & we had the wake at The Flowerpot. Nothing was too much effort for Pierre & everyone felt dad was given a great send off. On Saturday we finally made a trip back. It was as ever cosy & welcoming. The rugby was on live but discreetly in a side area so not intrusive if you were not a rugby fan - handy for us to keep popping over to check the score! There were some new interesting lagers & pale ale on the pumps. There's always a good choice of real ales. So we shared some dipping bread over a beer whilst waiting for our steaks. Their steaks are never a disappointment & always beautifully cooked. Pierre as always was his usual attentive self, despite having a full pub & restaurant area at 6pm. We were not disappointed!

We went for dinner at New Years Eve so it was not the quietest of times but the staff were very attentive and it was very apparent that they were enjoying being there as much as we were.Food was good and when we ordered additional bread we were advised that it was not required with what else we ordered - how right they were.We eat in The Flower Pot about once a month and always have a good experience.

Ok, so the rooms are above a pub but don't let that put you off. The pub itself is welcoming and the staff were very helpful. We only had breakfast but the food was good and plentiful. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and there was a couple of nice touches, i.e. bottled water, coffee & biscuits. We would definitely stay there again. Gary from Kent

A very disappointing visit to The Flower Pot. A surprise meal arranged for myself with a table booked in advance. On arrival my friends was greeted by the manager who was rather rude when informing them they was not allowed to bring a birthday cake and should of ordered a cake from The Flower Pot in advance. He did however allow them to give me my cake later in the evening. We waited 15-20 minutes for our food order to be taken. We was told we could only order drinks from the bar as they did not have enough staff to serve us. We then waited an hour for our starters to be served. When they was the fish cakes was raw/ uncooked. They had no coating and was cold. These was returned, we waited another 15 minutes for them to return while the rest of the parties starters was sat on the table. Mains arrived most of the party happy with the food as pleased they didn't have to wait another hour. The mushy peas that arrived with the fish n chips was cold and looked more like play doh! We could see the young waitress was doing her best with very little support from the manager. We had to request several times to speak to the manger, as we felt it was unfair to place our disappointment with a young lady doing her best and clearly thrown in at the deep end with such lack of staff. Toilets out of services, thankfully the disabled toilet in use for the whole pub. We thought it would he nice to end the evening with a glass of Baileys to be told they had none in stock, but would have some the following day, not much use to us!! The manager out of good will did not charge us for any of the starters which was some recognition for the disappointment we felt. A great shame as it could be lovely.

We walked into an empty restaurant, but the waiter was too busy on his phone to notice us. The barman (presumably his boss) had to alert him to our presence. It was no surprise, that when we were ready to order, the same waiter was on his phone again. Like previously, the barman had to tell him to wait on us. I reiterate, we were the only customers, so god knows how he acts on busy nights. Food and drink were good, but that waiter needs to have his phone confiscated.
