Typical wetherspoons but brilliant building oh but the loos again not easy to climb

Amazing place to eat and drink nothing is to much trouble for the staff danny and Mark are doing amazing they are so welcoming and will always go above and beyond great with kids and they love dogs too which is a bonus for us. Definitely going to be our new local

If you're expecting service with a smile then this isn't the best place to go to . Miserable staff looking like super fed up Food was edible and on the whole not too bad. Service not great Atmosphere, non existent. Nice sized pub though and very spacious so I award it 2 stars.

Everything my dad wanted to eat was unavailable. He settled for steak and ale pie which wasn't his favourite. We had to buy our drinks separately which was faffy. The lad that took our food order was really lovely but you could tell he was a bit embarrassed at having to tell us we couldn't have most of the menu. The birthday girls food was a 1 star. Anaemic chips and gristle in the burger. We had organised a funeral just after Christmas there which had been outstanding so we wanted to come at a less emotional time. We'd been given a voucher as an incentive. We couldn't use it though as the tiny small print said you couldn't use it Fridays. If that was their busy time, they are obviously doing something wrong. There were empty mayo tubs at the area next to our table collecting water from a leak. There were plenty of other tables they could have reserved for us. The atmosphere was awful and awkward. It felt like the staff had all just had a massive row. We really felt we weren't welcome. It was a Friday night and we'd booked rather than taken a chance because we thought it would be heaving. This could have become our local, but I doubt we'd go again. We are all easygoing and had a good laugh, but as a birthday meal, it is best forgotten. Oh, but puddings were top-notch. I'd have that sticky toffee pudding in a heartbeat. Same with the cheese cake. I'll give it an extra star for the puddings.

Always great at the Fiveways! Food always fantastic, staff are great. Love coming in here with the family, and with our motorclub on a Thursday. Great place to have in the community, especially with the large conservatory available for private functions if required. We had our group Christmas meal here too and that was spectacular. Nothing ever to much trouble for the Fiveways team

Food was rather enjoyable. The only issue I had was the gravy on my steak was very sweet. Although the service was quick and friendly nobody came to check if our food was okay. Atmosphere was dead. Very few people in & yet dance music was playing.

Really chilled place to meet up with friends. It was quiet and the service was great. It can get busy though so if you are eating it may be an idea to book a table.

The service was terrible disjointed, with one person at a time being served with long gaps between each delivery. The end result was 14 people all eating at different times rather than together.

Took 2 hours to be told the chef was just doing our main course, at which point I cancelled it and got my money back

Our group booked about 2 weeks in advance. When we all arrived thet said the email/booking doesn't go straight to them and they weren't told that we were booked. (About 15/16 ladies) There was only one chef on, plenty of wait staff but we were rarely checked on and the pub wasn't very busy. It was Tuesday lunchtime. We all ordered at the machine and the food came out in drips and drabs. I waited 67 minutes for my steak ciabatta to come out. Some people waited even longer. My steak ciabatta was very chewy and I did not receive a steak knife to cut the pieces smaller. One piece was so chewy, I couldn't cut it smaller and it seems I couldn't chew it very well either as it got stuck in my throat. I had to steal my friend's water to be able to swallow it down and struggle with the butter knife to cut them into smaller pieces, definitely too chewy to eat as a sandwich. When we cut the cake, I asked for a sharp knife to cut the cake (it was a fatless sponge) and was given a cake spatula. So I struggled ( yet again) with a butter knife to cut the cakes as it seems that's the sharpest thing I was allowed! I was hoping The Five Ways had improved after my Step Daughters absolutely failed Christmas dinner, but HQ should communicate better with it's restaurants!

Really good food and very dog friendly. Great place to stop for lunch.

Not been in this pub for about 5 years but attended Friday pm and had a great lunch and just been on a Sunday and it was elite. Can’t fault it at all

Top class pub. Staff really friendly and always happy to help. Pool table and a darts board with a scoring machine! Always a good time here.

Shocking service. Bars staff looked like they didn't want to be there and didn't want customers to be there either. Called last orders at 10.25 and closed the bar completely at 10.40. Plus the holts beer is shocking.

Great pub, lovely staff, Mark and Danny are great landlords always friendly and up for a chat. Jordan behind the bar is a great guy. Food really nice and it’s quick service. Games room has a proper darts board, oche, scorer and a nice pool table. great local, great people

We had a wake there yesterday after my mother's funeral this is the second I have done with you this year 1st one fine 2nd was very poor service .I asked for the food to be served straight away as some people needed to leave. Asked 3times waited over a hour for food to arrive girl who served not suited to job.won,t be coming back

Visited again 7th July.24. As always enjoyed meal which was lovely, also service really good.everyone very pleasant.

Fantastic food & drinks. Staff were excellent and very friendly. Watched the England vs Switzerland match, great atmosphere and zero problems from any nuisance customers. Would recommend. Nice large car park onsite.

Very rude manager with short black hair was very very rude for no reason to me even staff members agreed. No need for it

Ordered the Sunday beef roast dinner.. was absolutely terrible. £2:50 worth of product for a charge of £15.. . Left 95% of my plate untouched. . By far the worst portion an quality and priced pub Sunday dinner I've ever had .

We went at a quiet time but coukd not fault it on anyway. The barman had a great personality, service was good, food excellent and everywhere clean

Went for birthday lunch with family, it was very nice , hard to choose food

The lasagne was absolutely outstanding, rich and delicious.

Screaming kids and useless parents

This could be a great pub but when it's busy there's hardly anywhere for groups and families to sit now, and I don't know why some things were done. There is a lovely big table next to the bar which is now always covered in c*ap. The booth next to that has been "out of order" for weeks, even though staff go on it. The library is a bit of a no go as it's become a den for sweary lads. They've knackered the old dining room(which is a lovely extension) with a "function room" which is never really used. There is always signs in tables that say "reserved" and no one ever sits at them. There's so many dogs yapping it's getting too much. I think this could be a gold mine for families and groups of older people but they're just not thinking about that any more.

The only thing I can say the place was dull and darkish no atmosphere what so ever

Most food is bought in frozen. Booked and paid for New years Eve at 7pm Table was not set out. 2 bar staff never told us the Festivr meal was not on offer! Had a meat pie and veg. Not very appetising. My partner was charged for it. I went to the bar to complain. 2 staff never saw me waiting. Told to return another night for a refund! 2 people came in at 7.15 and told ..kitchen closed There was a disco being set up. Returned on a Sunday. Ordered a roast. Pre-made turkey dry, roasties were bought in frozen. Carrots re-heated. Got my refund. Will never eat there again. Only 6 other diners there

Food lovely made welcome staff very helpful and couldn't do anothe for you it was my sisters birthday really recamend the fivvways.

When we asked for a table for 6 we were told "no chance " by a member of staff. We asked if they could push 2 tables that were vacant together and were told no! We were then told we could sit in the pub area but it was too small to seat us all. We ended up leaving and going elsewhere where they were happy to have our custom and we received service with a smile!!

Poor attitude, not welcoming me and my friends were watched by the bar staff and customers the whole night incredibly awkward and unfriendly atmosphere.

We booked the function room for our wedding celebration on Saturday 14th October and so glad we did. We had a great time, we chose the crystal gold buffet option for 30 people and although in the end there were a few more than planned there was plenty to go round. The food was lovely, everyone I spoke to agreed and enjoyed. I wish I had taken a picture but only have the room as a whole once we had dressed it. Last but not least I would like to thank all the staff for their friendly and efficient service, not to mention their patience...my lot can be a bit of a handful😁.... thanks again for a great evening!

Me & my partner both had Fish, Chips & Mushy Peas for our evening meal, the chips tasted over cooked & rubbery.& tasteless. The chips were the least of me & my partners worries as a few hours later, both me & my partner both suffered a world of pain with really bad guts. I will never buy from here ever again. Avoid at all costs.

Country pub, excellent food and friendly staff .

First visit since lockdown. Very happy with the service, quality of food and atmosphere. Shall be visiting again soon.

Reserved a table for 14 of us at quite short notice and we were accommodated without fuss. The food was served quickly after ordering and was delivered to our table with a smile. I normally drink "Two Hoots" but this was not available, so we had the normal hand pulled bitter - it was equally as nice and was well received by us all. All-in-all a great pub, lovely food, nice atmosphere and nice beers. Thanks for accommodating us. Rob

Visited on a Saturday evening. We booked a table but the restaurant was really quiet. The food was really good, especially the Steak and Ale Pie!

Came in today after sons football match to watch the women’s World Cup final instantly met with rude manager telling us they wasn’t serving food yet without anyone trying to order food who continued to have a rude attitude when trying to order food was told their would be a wait which was no issue to us but seemed to be an issue with him other staff there were amazing shame the manager wasn’t

Had a lovely meal, really nice staff,the only down side was the price nearly £8 for a glass of wine but pricey other than that I'd definitely go again.

Very disappointing! Met friends for lunch a couple of weeks ago and none of us were impressed with the range of food on offer which was overpriced and underwhelming. There was nothing, apart from soup, around the £6-9 price range as you would expect for a lunch - no sandwiches or paninis etc. I ordered 2 of the small plates: Caesar salad which consisted of 4 lettuce leaves, 4 small croutons and 4 shavings of cheese and cost £5.45!! Along with this I had Hot Honey Chicken at £5.95 which consisted of 5 tiny battered chicken balls with a bit of sticky sauce. The others paid around £14 for their lunches. Needless to say, none of us will be returning.

Me and my friend went in for a drink and asked what cask ales were on and was told the selection. My friend wasn't sure so I asked if he could taste one of them, the owner then said " would you go in to a curry house and ask if you could taste the chicken tikka masala"!!! I have never known it to be a problem in any other pub to taste the ale so it put us in a negative mood from the start. We were going to order food but after our greeting and looking at the menu from what it used to be we left as soon as possible.

We came in on a whim today as a family of five. The place is well spaced out so even when busy you're not feeling packed in . From the moment we walked in we had an amazingly warm welcome from all the staff x the food was next level amazing. Myself and my husband had the steak x it was by far the best I've ever eaten , cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth x so much so I'm still thinking how delicious it was now,hours on x nothing was too much. We were specific with our autistic sons needs food wise, also seated somewhere quiet x highly recommend 👌 superb staff and amazing food 😀

Went as a large group for a birthday meal having pre-ordered our choices. The service was excellent, food was great and good value for money. Would definitely visit again.

Food was very good and the female food server was excellent, but the whole experience was spoiled by the sheer sulleness and rudeness of the (alleged) manager serving behind the bar. It was almost as if he resented us coming into his pub. No smile, no personality and a need to get rid. Hence two stars.

We visited today. All our meals wernt good. All chips were not cooked in middle. One chicken burger wasn't cooked and still pink in thickest part. One chicken was dry and tough as overcooked. We did inform one of the staff who apologised then said would we like a complimentary drink........NO I said, also thinking he would of refunded at least 2 of the meals as he could see they hadn't been eaten, how wrong I was. We waited to see if manager would come over to offer refund but nothing. We would now never go again as we know everything can have an off day but not dealing with it appropriately is absolutely disgusting especially in this day and age when pubs need the custom. Obviously Fiveways don't!!!!

Visited the Five ways for an afternoon buffet following a funeral. The bar staff were attentive and professional, dealing with the initial rush quickly. I've not been in this pub for 40 years or more and was pleasently surprised how smart and comfortable the place had become.......the buffet was the usual fare but tasty and varied. Altogether a great venue

A difficult post. Firstly I have to say the staff are friendly and approachable nothing was too much for them. The downside is the food. It's pretty much processed and frozen which if not cooked correctly just simply ain't nice! So if you are going for a few drinks fabulous. Forget the food though.

Hard working and friendly owners , we're very attentive and made sure we had what we wanted.

Had a lovely meal, large portions, well cooked and great service, nothing was too much trouble, would recommend and will certainly be going back. Reasonably priced and plenty of offers and variety to choose from. 5 Star

Xmas 2022 Sorry can't even put 1 star. 6 of us came as dad treated us as 1st Xmas after the loosing mum Sat down no drinks or orders taken. Starters tiny & tasteless B.I.L's cold as he had to get drinks Main Processed turkey, Pigs in b/kts looked raw,parsnips looked like chips neve roasted,gravy bisto! Nothing good to say. Very disappointed £60!!

We had a brilliant 3 course Christmas lunch with my 91 year old mum last week. The venue was clean, not crowded, played lovely music & the food was hot, tasty & plenty of it. The waiters were attentive. The cost was really reasonable with bottle prosecco & drinks. Would definitely return. Thank you.

Popped in for beer and snacks, freckles - deep fried beer battered gerkins are a must - who knew hot gerkins could be so good!...vegan nachos, spinach and cabbage pakora, and salt and pepper chips all very tasty, we hadnt been in for a while but we will definitely be back to try the main dishes..

Great food served here, staff very attentive even when something I ordered was not available anymore. Had the delicious beer battered cod and chips, delicious. Highly recommend here.

Big 1930s pub but brought up to date. Had an early lunch (noon) so the pub was almost empty but the service was still good and the food tasty but a bit formulaic, so not exactly cordon bleu, but, you know what you're liable to get. Worth a visit. Carvery on Sundays.

I had the fish with salt and pepper chips. The food was great, the atmosphere was very comfortable. Danny and Mark were excellent hosts, I'll certainly return!

Excellent beer, atmosphere. Friendly staff. Shame about the smokers outside inside the boundary of the premises, meant we had to change tables. But then it's the same everywhere nobody goes 6m beyond the boundary to the premises

I loved The Fiveways it's huge and with different rooms for different things and the fact you can also take your dog in, we were in the conservatory for a birthday party and had a fab time with great food and lovely staff.

Have become regulars here cause it's great inside, pool table, good vegan options, good wine and nice staff! Especially one man who was lovely to the dogs
