The Fish Bar - Harrods in Kensington and Chelsea

Went supposedly as a special treat. Built this up in my mind so much expected special surroundings ,decor ,service ,food and quality. Decor. I've been in better looking harry Ramsdens. Service ,not busy really but they just had an air of couldn't be arsed. Food and quality. Very very very small portions ,it was edible and clearly quite good but for the location and price I'd expect to walk out saying it was amazing unfortunately it was just ok. I know in this world we can't really expect any different but this entire venue is just. An exercise in relieving visitors from as much cash as possible as quickly as possible and moving onto the next victim. I've not rated it lower overall because all of us including me are to blame for this sort of thing by continually putting up with it. But lesson learnt .

Cover charge of £1 each plus service at 12.5%! The prawns were not so copious in the prawn cocktail. The sauce was pleasant - better than the average Marie Rose sauce. Tiddly mixer bottles of Coke Zero for £4.95 each. But the fish was the most disappointing part - haddock and chips at £37.50 each with 3 thimblefuls of different sauces. My local fish and chip shop serves up delicious cod and chips at a fraction of the price. I would not return to this restaurant. Service was so so - the staff were a bit abrupt. Overpriced, overhyped and totally underwhelming experience.

When I return to London I look forward to eating at the fish bar at Harrods. It is one of the MOST EXPENSIVE FISH AND CHIPS RESTAURANT IN LONDON BUT IN THE PAST IT WAS WORTH IT! Today it is not good Save your money and eat elsewhere! The quality of everything is below what it was last year! The fish was overcooked and sat on the counter for a while before it was served to me. On a positive note the sparking water was good!

Great fish & chips, with a very light, well-seasoned, and crispy batter. You can tell the fish is very fresh and the fries are thick, plump, and taste great. The service is excellent as well. My one compliant -- not enough food! Very small portions! I was still quite hungry after devouring my entire portion. To satiate my hunger, I literally went to another restaurant right after visiting Kerridge's! Admittedly, I come from the US where the portions are usually massive...

This is the second time I have visited this place in past six months and I can probably re-confirm my review last time that this is just mediocre... There are a lot of choices for fish & chips restaurants in London and people probably come here because of the convenience as they are shopping here and wanted to save time. The fish was very thin with not much texture and the batter was too thick. I still miss the old Fish Bar before the renovations. It is an average meal which could easily be replaced by other better choices. Service was disappointing, due to a particular incident but that is probably an isolated event. So, I will give it the benefit of the doubt that they still serve you well in general.

We were lucky enough to have been brought an experience voucher for here. We arrived earlier than we had booked for, however they seated us nearly straight away. I had the prawn cocktail as a starter, which was huge, I had to let my husband finish it, the prawns were so succulent. My husband had the frickles which again were very good and a very generous portion. . We both had the catch of the day, haddock which had a lovely crispy batter. The chips are enormous. If we went again we would probably share a main and starter. We had very attentive service and they were very knowledgeable about the food.
