Have visited this pub/restaurant many years ago! It's a great offset social meeting place, too! Great for that quick drink and snack to quench ones thirst and appetite 😋.

Triple A service, food and drinks. Go.

Good pub with good atmosphere has nights with singers and bands . Average price for beer.

Friendly staff, chilled atmosphere, neat little garden

Popped in because we heard good music pumping out of the door, but once inside, it was quite disappointing. The place has no atmosphere! Staff were not very friendly, and the decor could do with a little updating. The music was so good that we may have stayed all evening, but was put off by the atmosphere, which was a shame.

Great atmosphere. Nice décor. The DJ plays great music on a Saturday night.

Unfortunately I read some reviews to state this was a good option for a Sunday roast so went along… My personal experience would differ. Had a wait of 50 mins but no one else was eating, the food given wasn’t has describe on the menu and it was expensive for the quality given. Disappointed

Very disappointed with our food Monday 8th january.poor value for money.overcooked and cold chips.added chips to my Philly cheese steak roll .had it been served on its own with a bit of lettuce would have been poor value for price.wasnt asked if our food was ok and table didn't get cleared when we had finished.wouldnt eat here again

My recent experiences have left me utterly dismayed. Many establishments seem to have hopped aboard the price-hike train without a ticket to quality. This is my £11.75 Club Sandwich at the Fish Pub which felt like a rip-off. The bread, far from doorstep thickness, resembled something out of a supermarket aisle. And, brace yourself, an extra £1.50 for a handful of chips! So this sandwich meal came to whopping £13.25. A real letdown that begs the question. What has happened to our hospitality?

This pub is welcoming and accepting...it's caring and ready to go the extra mile for customers. Food is now available and especially Mondays post weekend blues when you need warm winter nosh. I recommend the scotch egg (perfect runnyness) and the burgers are incredibly tasty and meaty. Sometimes quiet sometimes partying and in-between, It's a heartfelt passionate pub with great customer service. Staff get to know it's regulars and their preferences...They have regular entertainment and there is a great atmosphere weekends. Football and Rugby on screen. Good selection of gins and good garden area.Even the quiet moments are memorable...what ever you need in a local...this place provides it.

What a pleasant experience. Popped in for a quick drink before the show at the Derngate. The lad behind the bar was most pleasant and engaging a credit to the estlishment. A lovely atmosphere. Will be back.

Lovely pub, great selection of drinks, very helpful staff. The only disappointment is that in the last few months, the food portions seem to become smaller and smaller, and prices have gone up

New menu in! Was absolutely amazing, from drinks to the vibe, it’s never a miss at the fish. Ellie is so attentive and the new girl on the bar was so lovely! I had the chicken burger and it deffo hit the spot! The fries are the best I’ve ever had, massive compliments to the chef:)

Really cute garden in the back which has a foosball table. Friendly staff. Nice selection of drinks. The garden is suitable for any weather as there is a bit that is fully covered.

🐟🍟🍗🥧😍 We had a fantastic time at The Fish Bar in Northampton! 😄 When we walked in, it was a bit dark, but the place was bustling with customers, indicating its popularity among locals. 🌟 We decided to try their fish and chips 🐟🍟 and chicken pie 🍗🥧, and they were delicious! 😋 The prices were reasonable, and we even had two large cokes 🥤 to go with our meals. The only downside was that our table was a bit sticky 😕, but it didn't ruin our experience. The food was so good, no greasy feeling after eating! 🙌 It's an order-at-the-bar system, but maybe an app in the future? 📱 Overall, it was a great visit! We highly recommend The Fish Bar for a satisfying meal. 👍

We stopped in for lunch. I had an Abbot Ale and an Old Peculier. We split an order of fish and chips. Average at best. A lot of batter.

Nice pub, not good for food, but good beer and cocktails. We wanted to eat fish and chips, but unfortunately that wasn't available that day. Instead, rather average mac'n cheese.

The place I went to almost every day for a month living in Northampton. It's a place where cute caring people work and I enjoy it very much.

Popped in for lunch. Lovely welcome. Lovely lady on the bar. Had fish and chip lunch. Very well cooked and presented. Hot and very tasty. Been 50 years since I've been in but will definitely be back when in town centre.

Lovely to visit a public house that's so individual. Great music, great atmosphere, great choice in drinks. Would highly recommend.

What's not to love about this pub it has it all

Bar staff excellent, very helpful and polite, well refurbished town centre pub.

Right in the town centre, we got a booth and had a few beers. It was a Saturday night and it was busy. There was a dj playing older music mainly motown etc. the clientele was of an older group. It has a nice outdoor bit with heaters.

Best Sunday roast in Northampton. Never disappoints.

Just visited here for the first time with 2 friends We had Pizza 🍕 I had hot chocolate to drink and my 2 friends had beer. It was OK and staff are friendly. I have no photo to share, sorry. 😞

A long time established town centre pub. My first visit for many years, this was on Christmas eve lunch time after a bit of late shopping, just for a drink but a basic pub menu is available. It was busy, but bar service was quick and drinks went down well! We'll be back soon.

Arguably one of the best Sunday dinners in town but food great on the whole. Sky Sports, plenty of different spirits... Staff are brilliant

It's a bit Northampton but at least they showed the rugby. Would have been better without the gobs***e at the bar who was a true expert and so loud he drowned out most of the commentary.

The Fish is known to most Northamptonians. It stands in Fish Street which is a busy thorougfare (no cars) with coffee shops one side and The Fish pub on the other with a noodle bar and a small coffee shop. They tried to change its name but everyone always said "See you in The Fish", so eventually they changed its name back. Table and chairs outside for people watching. Typical pub inside. Lively with TVs for sport. Friendly staff. Just love the place.

Brilliant pub since new manager, Biaba, (know wrong spelling of her name took over 😂) a couple of years ago. All the staff are just amazing, and can’t do enough! Reece, Colin (chef) Becky, young Hayley etc etc. Sunday roasts are also recommended 👏.

Visited The Fish for the first time a few weeks ago whilst out shopping for the day with a friend. Had seen their posts on Instagram and the food looked good so we thought we'd give it a try. Well I must say if you haven't had lunch in here yet then you need to!! I had the special that day which was a Philly cheese steak ciabatta with garlic fries and my friend picked 3 dishes from the small plate menu for £10. Wow! Don't get me wrong, my meal was delicious, but I was very jealous of her food when it came out. The fish goujins are the best I've ever had and they certainly don't skimp on the portions. The lady working the bar was really lovely too. Chatty and friendly, everything you need in town centre pub. Also anywhere that sells Old J Cherry Spiced Rum is a winner in my book! Will be back again soon!

Much improved. Personable staff. Sadly the one decent beer wasn't fresh. No matter. We hope for a few more proper ales to choose from next time. Looks we're fresh too! So pleased it has returned to be called The Fish and go back to being a proper pub.

It was a pub I went to with my late husband 51 years ago. We would go there after work. I t is still a lovely place to go to will be going back

I was pleasantly surprised with the cost of my drinks, which does not often happen. I am a G&T explorer and they had a number of different gins and tonics, with varying flavours to choose from. They had separate stalls that seated 4 and which were situated next to the window. As well as other different seating areas.

Haven't been in since the name change, but I found it quite relaxing, polite staff, beer good, didn't have food so can't comment. Will definitely go back.
