Leaving a new review. Budget friendly meal - which is curry in a hurry comes only with 4 pieces of meat which is okay. However, it’s not okay if meat pieces are extremely small. This happened on a number of occasions but the manager on the phone was very helpful and this time he provided us decent sizes for all the meals. I commented on here previously where someone replied that I was given “extra” pieces. I didn’t receive anything extra but I also told them on the phone I don’t want anything extra just a decent meal. Taste is really good and fortunately my children love it. Customer service is very good and person on. The phone is good too. I don’t mind ordering from them again, but chef really needs to make sure their budget friendly curry isn’t just small pieces and if it’s extremely small they should increase. I have ordered similar meals from takeaways although taste isn’t as good as Fat Indian they are accurate with portioning.

After a seemingly poor delivery from Uber, I found the staff to be brilliant, the 1 missing food order was fast tracked to me and extra to apologise. The food was fantastic, really well cooked and flavoured. This will be my 'go to' curry takeaway from now on in the future. Thanks for going above and beyond, very rare these days.

Ordered onion bhaji (great taste and good portion size). Veg dansak (nice and spicy, not too spicy). Chicken tikka massalla (good size chicken pieces, rich thick sauce). Special fried rice. Plain paratha (nice and flaky, some I've had from other places can be a bit doughy). Couple of fresh tasting poppadoms. Great meal, will be back!

This was my first time ordering from this restaurant and I will start by saying the food was absolutely delicious. The order took over an hour to arrive and when it did arrive, we were missing a naan bread. I contacted them and they issued a refund. I initially thought I wouldn't order from them again, but as the food was so nice I will probably give them a second chance.

Shocking compared to what it used to be, ordered a couple of the meals for 1, mostly just rice and a slight bit of curry with 2 lumps of over cooked dry chicken. The chicken samosas, don't waste your money they are tiny. Such a shame as this place did serve some nice food but not anymore

Excellent chefs whoever cooks for this place, I’ve ordered from The Fat Indian Takeaway for a while now regularly, everything from chicken pakoras, mulghai biryanis, curries, bhunas, king prawns, fish dishes all fantastic! Excellent packaging, always clean, good portions and not stingy, food is always hot and just so well packed and the drivers are clearly careful upon delivery. Their biryanis often have the ground spices still left in the rice so be careful, this isn’t something I’m a fan of to be honest, otherwise all great. Only thing I’d say is that delivery time needs to improve, expect it to be 30 mins later than the estimated time especially on weekends but that’s because of how busy they get which is totally understandable! Hope they continue to learn from any feedback and just get better and better, they deserve top ratings.

I ordered Onions Bhaji which were drenched in oil & overcooked and you only get 3 pieces! When I phoned they wouldn’t give me a refund I also offered to send pictures Chicken Biryani was tasteless, I’m only giving 2 stars as delivery was quick but I’ll never order again from here! Parkview on Bowes Road 100 times better , tastier & value for money!

I think the lower scores ive read must reflect issues with delivery rather than actual food quality because the meals I had from here so far have all been excellent. For recommendations the North Indian special is a particular highlight and tastes really fresh and high quality. Free naan for orders over 20 quid too. Very highly recommended

I cannot believe what I have eaten! Thid isn't Indian food this is non indians trying to Indian food. The dal was awful. The aubergine was 1/4 packed with oil and the matar paner omg the sugar. I was eating a desert. Why don't you cook authentic Bangladeshi food instead? Instead of trying to intimate North Indian food?

I had a Daal from this place and I must say I was more then impressed. One of the best I have tasted in a while. The customer services was really good and had no issues with delivery. I liked it that much that I ordered the next day just to make sure it was not a one of. Same great taste. Would recommend.

True flavour of India being away on holiday last few months to a foreign country. I missed curry so much and I discovered this place on a Google search is a treasure in heart of romford.. amazing amazing flavour friendly staff and very speedy service highly recommend anyone to try this Fat indian out.

The Pizza and Garlic bread was amazing fresh dough! Was yum! The chicken tika and patato biriyani was too good! Definitely will be ordering again! Staff were great too!

This takeaway is something extra ordinary cuz I have try so many food form different Indian takeaways but unfortunately those were not exact as same like this one , there food and there over all delivery service was superb. To be honest I didn’t expected that it will be that great but it was quite fantastic beyond my expectations. It was my first time I’ve ordered from them and I really enjoyed the food with my family specially my chicken tikka masala it’s was fabulous was totally different from others . I highly recommend if anyone want to try Indian food u should try to order from them. U not gonna regret for sure.

I ordered a chicken tikka masala which turned out to be mostly sauce and quite oily with about 5 pieces of chicken so I wasn't very impressed with that. The saag paneer was very runny and sweet as was the yourt - Indian savoury food should not be sweet, I am Indian myself and I have never had anything so sweet for a main from an Indian restaurant/takeaway. The naan was nice, hence 1 star. I would never recommend Fat Indian - there are better options that come in a jar from the supermarket.

I clearly stated on order don’t ring door bell and to call me when outside but still the driver rang the door bell and woke everyone up. And secondly I ordered a big bottle of sprite but driver didn’t bring the drink. This is the second time this restaurant has failed to bring me my drink. So they charged me for a drink but didn’t send it. Second time this has happened

Recently moved into the area had to find a Indian near by, I’m a mobile mechanic/ecu tuner so late nights are common,one evening I came across them on the to good to go app while on way home, food ON POINT, tonight me and the other half decided on a take away straight to the menu and ordered online a nice 25% discount chucked in to, blown away by the food it’s above and beyond, flavours coming through were insane both very pleased, I’m not one to leave reviews but this place deserves it, hats off to the chefs and the team will be 110% re ordering from here and no where else

We ordered food (starters & mains) for Sat 11 Dec for 20 people to be delivered for 5.30pm. Thamid was who was very helpful with the order. The food arrived on time & piping hot delivered by someone with the positive attitude. They sent more food than ordered and added a cake and drinks for us for free. Everyone loved the food, a few took their contact details & most were looking for a doggie bag to take home! Really nice people to deal with serving great food delivered piping hot. What more do you want? Will definitely order again from them Thanks guys

Utterly disappointed with the order today (18th Sep 2021). I ordered the food over the phone at 6.45 pm and was promised that I will be given a call when the food would be prepared, as I was keen to collect it. At 7.30 I was told the driver is in his way with food and delivery address was not even a mile away. No food delivered till 8pm. When I desperately tried calling, could reach them after 10 attempts, to only know that something went wrong with the delivery and was asked what I wanted to do. Having no options as I had waited for that long, I offered to go collect the food this time and went there and food was given in 15 mins. Was my first and will be the last order. Confirmed the same when I picked the food. Rating of 1 star is also very high for this place. Pls don't contact me. Thanks but no thanks. 19th Sep 2021 - Thanks for promptly defending your actions. I am forced to respond to only to put the records straight. Firstly, I was clearly told a 45 mins wait for the food last night and the agreement was I would receive the call when the food was ready. I had never opted/agreed to have the food delivered. Secondly, I had written I could not reach you even after 10 attempts for which I have attached a screen shot my phone could capture. Yes the line was busy, but it clearly shows there was no attempt from you to contact me from the time I initially placed the order at 6.41pm. Of course my custom would be better served elsewhere. Clearly you didn't offer that to me at least last night, immaterial how busy the evening was. I have never been treated this way by any other place I have ordered food from. Clearly we have no reason to respond to each other anymore, but pls do not claim incorrectly either.

Ordered for the first time today. It was easy and straightforward process, done via website. The order tracking is fantastic, nevertheless still got a phone call informing, when food will be ready for collection.( well done customer service team). Food was nicely prepared and packed. As we have an asian in the family, the expectation were high. We were not disappointed, the food was simply delicious, full of flavours and taste. Absolute winner. Portions were big enough that we’ve got leftovers for the next day. It gave you a sense of a homemade, high quality meal for the family. We will be back for more, or even we’re considering the regular orders for every day home meals. Well done !!!

I done a 2 to good to go order. I must say the food was nice not a meal as no meat just rice sauce onion Bhajis poppadoms. I was happy with the meal. My husband had the onion Bhajis and while he said they was nice he found a pieces of wire with could have been a staple on the 3rd one. This is shocking he could have done a lot of damage. Maybe the health and safety and hygiene people need to pay this people a visit. SHOCKING.

I got a "meal" from here via Too good to Go. It consisted of 1 pot or rice with what looked like left over batter from the fryer on top, 1 pot of very watery and greasy "curry sauce" no meat or vegetables, 4 mini onion bhajis and a broken poppadom. It was foul and had to be binned. Cost £4, was supposed to be valued at £12. To add insult to injury I bought two and then had to order dinner from elsewhere. Would not recommend this place at all. I would have been furious if I had paid full price for that.

I can't actually review the place as I've never eaten there, but the review written from the person using the too good to go app, coupled with the savage feedback I read on the just eat reviews, makes me feel that I just HAVE to try it 😂😂😂 Edit: very much similar experience to the other people reviewing their too good to go offerings. Used the too good to go app to order food from this restaurant. The bag was advertised as being a value of twelve pounds but when I received it it was barely worth four. It is clearly a scam they are using to trick people into buying a few of their sides, and taking advantage of something designed to stop food waste and help people. I will be reporting this and advising other people in the area not to use this takeaway at all. I received mushroom rice and some bhajis and paid 8 pounds for two bags not what is claimed below.

In my years of having weekly takeaways, I have developed a soft spot for the Indian cuisine. Hands down this takeaway was the best of them all. From their samosas to the biryani and even the pasta - every bite I took, I tasted authenticity, and the time and care that went in to prepare my order. I would recommend this place to anyone and if you haven't tried it already, you haven't really lived.

I've never been disappointed with a dish I've had from The Fat Indian; they have a huge selection to choose from and I'm going down the list every week. If I could give 0 stars I would. This was the worst curry I have ever eaten. Watery slop with what tasted like aldi lamb chunks. I refuse to believe an asian person cooked this.

The menu promised exotic spices and ingredients.....what I got was four watery curries that had no defining flavor and all tasted the same.Disappointed.

I placed an order through JustEat at 7.15pm for delivery ASAP. Got an update to say it would be delivered at 8.20. No problem. It's now 9.10, I have never received my order and neither I nor JustEat helpline can get through to the restaurant. Order cancelled.
