So the farmers is recently reopened with new management and this was my first visit since. There was a chalk board in the window declaring food served throughout the day. We'd just got back from our hols and were wanting a late lunch - about 2pm I asked at the bar whether we were able to get food. It was as if I'd asked the weirdest question in the world as the young gentleman squirmed and went to ask. He confirmed we could, so we sat down and looked through the menu. This was when we discovered it was only serving Italian food. No problem, just odd for an old village pub. I went to order at the bar and the young woman looked at me nervously and said she wasn't sure if they were serving food! Why put a sign up then?! She went to check, again. We ordered burgers for the kids and we had the lamb rack and the veal. The food was very tasty. The downside was that the rack of lamb was actually just 3 small lollipops with little meat, but what was there was very nice, however is cost £27. The veal was better value as there was more of it. There were cheaper pasta dishes available; the burgers were £17 each. The kids enjoyed their burgers but the chips had been overly salted and it needed scraping off before they could be enjoyed. All this I would have shared with the staff had I been asked. I wasn't asked how my meal was, I wasn't asked about more drinks and after the plates were taken away the young lady approached the table and I was simply asked if I wanted the bill. What about desserts?! I'd overheard another customer bring offered lemon meringue pie when we arrived so I was most disappointed. The owner did come to our table at the end and offered a free limencello but didn't ask about our experience. We paid just under £100 for our lunch of lamb, veal, 2 burgers, 2 cakes and 2 pints of beer. Definitely not a quick, cheap pub lunch that you'd expect from the outside of the building. The hot water in the toilets has been turned off and I was cold throughout as the back door to the courtyard and gents toilets was kept open. The wood burner has been taken out which is a shame as the room was cold and lacked atmosphere despite some token gesture Halloween cobwebs. So my feedback to the owner would be: change your sign offering food all day if you can't fulfill it, train your staff in customer service as they were awkward and unsure, communicate with them so they know what is going on and turn the hot water on in the toilets My feedback for other potential customers is don't try and eat outside normal lunch hours as you seemingly get a different experience. Ask them not to add salt to your chips and add it yourself at the table. If you go expecting a pricey, but tasty, Italian restaurant then you will not be disappointed. Hopefully the staff will get better as they find their feet, receive training and gain confidence.

Had food here as I’d heard it was good since reopening. I had the steak & ale pie - terrible. I’d give it to the dog but that’s about it. I told the waitress it was full of fat and gristle but i didn’t think she even knew what gristle was. I’d avoid this place if I were you. She didn’t even offer to refund the meal or give us a free drink- I’m sorry but customer service is everything I believe.

26/08/2024 - Popped in after taking our dog for a walk. The pub has recently reopened & looks great inside but currently has no coke/lemonade on tap so i had a can of coke but sadly at £2.20 for a 330ml can, i wont be going back for a while. First time in this pub. Called them to see what time they finished serving Sunday roast. Was told the time & asked if you wanted to book a table. They were very accommodating & squeezed us in. 10 minutes later we arrived at the pub. The car park was full but we managed to find a space on the road outside. This was a good sign that the pub was popular. Approached the bar & was asked " Hi how can I help". Courteous, another good sign. I replied saying we have just called & booked a table & the member of staff said "Ah Mr Neale, this way please". knowledgeable, another good sign. Sat down, was left to read the menu, which was a wide range of food but as we were looking for a roast we knew what we wanted. No sooner had we placed our menu's vack on the table, our waitress was there! prompt service, again another good sign. We ordered our food & drinks with the waitress & 2 minutes later our drinks arrived followed by our food 5 minutes later. I had roast beef & my wife had roast chicken. Our plates were full but no veg 🤔 only to find our waitress returning to our table with a side of chunky veg. Now I was starving having just ran a half marathon but without showing my greediness I ate my food at a pace the food deserved. OMG everything was cooked to perfection & we both cleared our plates in silence. Sadly at this point our stomachs were full so we opted to skip desert. Our plates were removed from the table & I asked for the bill. A minute later a waitress bought our bill to our table & she also has a card machine in her hand ready for us to pay. No waiting around to pay, prefect service all around. Upon leaving we were asked by whom I can only assume was the landlady "how was our meal" to which we replied "excellent" & I then said I would have preferred to put my own gravy on my plate & could have another roast potatoe to which she replied "thank you for your comments & if you you visit again, just ask fir your roast to be dry & an extra potatoe & we'll accommodate you" very accommodating our last good sign. Welcome: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Friendliness: 10/10 (dogs welcome) Value for money: 10/10 We will definitely be returning again & recommending to family & friends.

Went for a Christmas lunch with friends. According to the website it is wheelchair accessible and has a wheelchair accessible toilet. Wrong on both counts. 2 members of staff had to help lift the wheelchair and user over the door step. There was no accessible toilet. It was an ancient outside toilet with no handrails and someone had to stand guard while it was being used as the wheelchair wouldn't fit in. The food was average, dry turkey and warm Christmas pudding. On a plus the staff were very friendly.

The staff here a great, very warm and friendly. I phoned up at short notice last night for food and they fitted us in no problem. 15 of us had occasion to visit the Unitarian chapel in Nottage for an afternoon Sunday service. We decided to have lunch before the service and choose the Farmers Arms as it advertised a good old fashioned Sunday lunch. Boy did we pick a winner and am so glad we did. The choice was good with the usual beef , pork or lamb as well as a vegetarian choice. They were short staffed and very busy but still delivered with a smile and constant updates. The staff could not do more for us , they were helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Our meals were piping hot with very generous helpings of meat and assorted vegetables. All at a very competitive price. I cannot remember when I had such a delicious home cooked Sunday lunch like it. Everyone enjoyed and have decided if and when we visit Nottage again our first choice to book will be the Farmers Arms. Our second time here and it will not be the last time! What a warm welcome we received, the Manager or owner (unfortunately we did not ask his name) was very attentive and friendly. We were taken to our table. The tables are spaced out well so you are not sat too close to the next. The waitress was very pleasant, took our drinks order and then our food, we both decided to go for the roast beef. My oh my we were not disappointed. Our plates were layered with beef, gravy, yorkshire pud, roast potatoes and boiled potatoes. Our veg came in a separate platter with extra gravy, lovely touch extra gravy in a gravy boat. The beef truly is melt in the mouth, absolutely delicious and plenty of it. The veg was cooked to perfection, the yorkshire pud fluffy and crisp, potatoes proper roasted potatoes, crisp on the outside fluffy in the middle. I managed to eat it all, no way did I want to waste any. Unfortunately I cannot comment on desserts as we did not have any! The Sunday dinner was more than enough. Just had an amazing beef Sunday Dinner. The beef was so tender and the vegetables were lovely. My husband had the vegetable lasagne and that was very tasty too, all homemade. The staff were all very friendly . Would highly recommend a visit.

Una linda parada streetside_nfs de café basado en el medio de la Brackla St centro comercial. estupendo café mesas limpias pero corrientes y ruidosa, pero perfecto para observar a la gente y aliviar el estrés de compras de verdad

Great music and atmosphere, I love the lounges. Great place to relax or catch up with a friend. Festive mulled wine spot too 🍷

Very lovely barista style coffee, very well made and milk was done perfectly. Food also seemed nice and had a variety of options, but I did not try this myself. Be warned, cash only.
