Lovely pub lovely staff and clientele food was amazing very friendly and reasonable and dogs adorable

I know it's been a while now but the new owners are doing a good job, great bands quality atmosphere and for a busy pub quick service, good priced drinks as well. if your in the area pop in for a pint 👍 haven't eaten here so can't comment on that 🤷‍♂️

God forbid I gave it 1 star. Awful from start to leaving. Which was only about 30 minutes. Have no idea who's running this pub. But they need to try harder. 12/5 year old running kitchen. Staff had no idea what wines they had. We gave up and left.

Popped in for a couple of pints and was pleasantly surprised. Good pint, friendly staff, and welcoming.

Just had a lovely chicken burger meal it was absolutely lovely best one I've had pub is dog friendly an children friendly we where very welcomed 😀 bands are brilliant on the weekends 😀

Amazing service today. Food was top notch. Very child friendly and brill kids menu for the young children with pudding and a drink included. Bands are amazing every weekend

It's been my most local boozer for 15 years but it's never been a regular haunt, however we dropped in to see what it was like under the new management and found they were serving a good drop of beer.... And the "band" was a bonus to.

We went to watch a band play on a friday night. Staff were all really friendly, learnt what we were drinking so when the music stared didn't need to shout just point at the glass. Nice selection of drinks. Managed to get a couple of stools at the bar like when your local was still a local. Was a really fun night out. Singing along, couple of the oldens got up and had a dance. Recommend a visit!

Excellent night, staff are friendly and polite

9 of us visited on Friday night for a works get together. The staff were great and very helpful. No food served after 8.30pm but we were allowed to get pizzas. The live music was brilliant. We finished the evening at the pool table. Thanks for a good evening. DBM.

Very friendly and Fosters lager £3.79 a pint. The bar staff couldn't go enough for us...will go there again.

New owners in the place, We visited last Friday and it was absolutely brilliant, they had a great live band on playing rock covers, lots and lots of people, proper music place.

I've always liked it in there and I was disappointed when the previous owners had to sell up. Now it's reopened with new owners, the pub just doesn't feel the same...Last night, there seemed to be a lot of trouble with drunk customers, lots of shouting, door men walking back and forth across the pub. It's never been like that in there before. The band were great, but I and a few others in there did not like where they were positioned. The stage area now has table and chairs and they performed in the far corner. There's a floor to ceiling chair right in front of the band blocking your view!? I think this affected to atmosphere a lot! I will go again and give it one more chance. I just hope they stop serving overtly drunk patrons to stop them getting out of hand.

Since taken over by new landlady its going from strength to strength, food is amazing, great prices, live entertainment Friday and Saturdays,

Good old school pub that get plenty of bands in. Landlord is a nice guy. Seemed low on stock though. Hopefully it opens again soon.

Terrible live band and their groupies and our group were the only people in the pub on a Saturday night. Website says serves food and has menu but no food is served anymore. Wheelchair access was locked when we turned up and access is with a fold out ramp that we were never told about so had to amble over the French doors raised cill.

I ways love coming to the Fareham with my oartnand brother in law lovely owner, atmosphere is alway welcoming and amazing bands 😊 I am also extremely over the moon the owner kept my jumper for almost y three months when I forgot it on a lovely evening at the pub again I would like to say a massive thank you

Went there for a gig put on by Tangerine Tantrum. It was a great gig. Had 2 pints of cider.

Great live music traditional pub in Fareham, worth checking out what is coming up as they have a varied music genre for example last week we attended an 80s night Vernon Principal, the previous week was Punk Pirates and the following was maiden head tribute band. Lots of people come for a dance, sing along or a date night name that tune. I've not tried the food here it's the music we come for and is available for limited times but can be arranged out of these on request.

Terrible pub!! I'll be very surprised if this pub lasts, lack of choice at the bar, unenthusiastic bar staff and a terrible band! Stayed for one drink then went to better pubs in Fareham.

It's the first time I have been in the for 50 years it was fine nice old fashioned pub. Last time was in the pub I was a apprentice carpenter, now retired has not changed lol.

We visited for my birthday Pleasant atmosphere live band. Good cider. Mostly locals present also welcomes tourists to serve food. Reccomended

The food was nice and the service was good, hygiene rating of 5 which speaks volumes. Just our table was sticky as were the carpets. I'm not from the area but it looked as though the pub had live music regularly, which I bet is great as the pub is very big!

Went to the pub a bit out of the blue really, last minute idea - very surprised, food was spot on , freshly cooked , generous portions and real value for money 👍. Strongly recommend the bangers and mash ! Really nice staff too, proper pub 😁

Restaurant/pub review The Fareham .. Trinity street fareham Took mum too this pub yesterday .. we hadn’t been for awhile as the kitchens were closed due to change over of management .. The new management Sam and pete took over earlier this year The home made suet pies are too die for ..full of meat unlike some places I’ve eaten ! Excellent service and good value for money As it’s a recent take over the pub is still building up its clientele so can be quiet at times .they do have live bands at the end of the week and they are offering Xmas Sunday roasts at the moment but will resume traditional Sunday roasts after the seasonal period . It’s a nice size pub so could cope easily with family dinning or groups .. parking next door in the council car park is cheap and convenient for dinning and if the weathers nice walking down too the shops .. I recommend you try this pub and give it 5 stars ..

Last time I went here was dead quiet, last night was rock night, excellent covers bands playing and a good crowd. Plus good beer, fun all round.

Good atmosphere and outdoor seating areas.Also have a pool table and good music on the Juke box and occasionally they have live bands playing on Friday or Saturdays.I've never had the opportunity to dine there so can't comment on the quality of the food.I would rate it better.than the Golden lion pub.

Pub is nice, music is good but don't go to the bar, coke tasted like water and staff are so rude! Well, the landlord anyways, I thought he was gonna punch me for ordering!!!

Visited on Saturday evening very disappointed with the ales on offer only had a choice of two. When I enquired about others was told they didn't have any others however before I'd finished my first pint low and behold they suddenly had a different one on offer. My friend and I were sat at the bar however were told by the landlady that she needed to take our stools away as they don't have bar stools out while the band is on. We sat ourselves somewhere else only to watch as the landlady then gets a bar stool out to give it to one of the regulars to sit at the bar. I have never been made to feel so unwelcome in a pub before. Won't be going back and would strongly recommend that unless you are a regular and your face fits to give this place a very wide berth.
