The steaks were absolutely outstanding—cooked to perfection, tender, and full of flavor. The beer selection complemented the meal perfectly, offering a great range of quality options. Although there was a slight error on our order, the staff handled it with such professionalism and care that it only reinforced the high standards this establishment maintains. Hats off to Kirsty & Jim for their excellent customer service and commitment to quality. I would highly recommend The Falcon Steakhouse to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. We are so lucky to have this steakhouse in Wotton. Fantastic food and drinks, fast and friendly service and we can walk to it. Locally farmed beef, cooked and served to perfection 👌.

I finally managed to get a table after many weeks of waiting as it’s so popular. I left my details in case there was a cancellation and Andy called me to say there was. It was well worth the wait this is the best roast I have had in the Cotswolds and we have been trying somewhere different most weeks. The food was HOT, the plates were hot and my roast Lamb was exceptional and beautifully cooked. I can’t say enough good things about this place and will be back as often as we can get a table…!! Thank you.

Love this place, and worth coming from Winterbourne. The Food is excellent. Staff cannot do enough to help. We had the Dipster Steak Sandwich - awesome 😍 And found out my wife shares a birthday with Andy, too 🥰 Always happy to support these guys

Service was faultless, really friendly staff. Food was slightly disappointing. We were expecting great things and the beef dripping sauce was just like normal gravy. Quite bland. Dauphinois potatoes were soooo garlicky as were the creamed mushrooms. Nothing bad enough to complain about but didn’t have the wow factor that we were expecting. Wouldn’t go back.

Our first time at The Falcon and it certainly won't be our last! It was a very last minute decision to go for food so we rang and they only had one table that if we got there in the next 20 minutes it was all ours- phew! When we arrived the staff were extremely friendly, full of smiles and very attentive. We had a little table for two by a pillar- which I read on another review as a bad thing but it was preferred for us as gave us some privacy. The food was AMAZING 👏 iv never had a scotch egg like that in my life, it was beautiful and I am still telling my partner how good it was the next morning. On to the steak...... Wow! We've been to some pretty fancy places and eaten many a steak but this was just perfect! Neither one of us could fault it. We were so so full but still managed a cocktail each and also decided to get a takeaway dessert to have later as we didn't want to miss out after seeing other peoples desserts arriving. So there I sat on my sofa at 10pm stuffing biscoff banoffee cheesecake in my mouth. Yum yum!! 10/10 for the whole experience. We've even booked for the roast dinner next weekend- cannot wait!!

Would only recommend if you are quite hungry as the meat portions start from 8oz. We were not in that case and just had the burger which was good but nothing amazing (which is fine considering it seems like it is not the main appeal of the restaurant)

The servers were very pleasant throughout our visit. The meal menu is unfortunately so targeted for those with no funds that we had difficulty finding what we wanted when it came to the quantities, as they were so generous. We settled on the burger which was ultimately very good (and suitable in terms of quantity for us). The service was also very fast.

This is the best steak I’ve ever had and the hot Stilton cheese sauce was delicious. Staff were great and service was great and timely.

The Falcon is amazing. Exceptional service from every single staff member we spoke to, and their attention to detail was great; they did not come and bother us during our meal but were sure to check we were enjoying it with super quick service. The waitress asked if we were visiting for any occasion to which my partner informed her it was my birthday, and they bought out my meal with ‘happy birthday’ on it - small touches that really make the experience special. The food was gorgeous - one of the best meals we have ever had out. Lovely tender steak that was cooked to perfection, the sides were seasoned perfectly and the temperature was great. The setting is lovely - the table area is not over cramped so you have plenty of room to sit and eat comfortably without being too close to other tables/being too noisy. Highly recommend - it may be slightly more expensive than other places, but with such a pleasant experience we had no issues spending money here. We will definitely be visiting again.

My wife and I vitisted The Falcon Steakhouse during a weekend stay in Wotton-under-Edge. The staff were lovely, warm, and welcoming. Unfortunately though, they were not as attentive as you'd expect. We were left without cutlery after our starters, so I had to go up and ask for mains cutlery. Then when I did there was no real apology, I was just handed the cutlery. There were also no check backs during our meal to see whether our food was OK, or if we wanted any more drinks. My wife raved about her steak and said she felt it was worth the money. I kind of had the impression my burger was priced to simply match the rest of the menu. There was technically nothing wrong with it but I've had similar quality burgers elsewhere for much cheaper. The biggest shock for us was the cleanliness of restaurant. Although things like the floor and tables were clean and tidy, there were cobwebs everywhere and the windows of the restaurant were filthy, looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months. Overall The Falcon Steakhouse felt like a once well soft after restaurant that had over time lost a bit of its soul and become complacent. Would possibly return, knowing it's faults, but struggle to recommend.

Popped in to buy the barbeque meat pack. Managed to buy the last one , and some sausages. Recommended by a friend - not disappointed at all. Excellent selection in the pack, it was delicious. High quality meat. Will definitely return.

We tried the Falcon as a break to the hotel we were staying in and how glad we were that we made that decision! Welcoming and friendly service backed up with amazing food in a traditional pub. One of the best starters I have had in recent memory (goats cheese salad) followed by sumptuous locally sourced steak and tasty banoffee pudding. All makes me wish we were staying longer so that we could revisit but I highly recommend.

We had the lunch menu and the food was excellent, as was the service. It was good value for money and it’s a very friendly place. (Some of the steaks on the main menu looked a bit pricy for what they were. Maybe ok for dinner but not a lunch time choice)

The food was great. The experience was great. I currently have this issue in which I don't believe anywhere I eat is worth its value in the uk. What I mean is, I eat at restaurants and the food is good but it's expensive for what it is and mostly the service is not the best. People don't want to provide a service anymore. The Falcon Steakhouse was exactly what I wanted. The food was brilliant, the service was good, and the staff attentive, and the price was perfectly reasonable. I can't wait to go back!

Lovely food, attentive staff good selection of gins

We were a party of 4 adults and two young children. One of the diners had certain requests these were met very graciously and the children were catered for really nicely. The roast dinners we had were the best we have had for a long time so well worth the money. It is a little pricey but the food was fresh, well cooked and served amazingly which makes it so worth it. Would definitely recommend it.

Lovely pub in the village. Nice atmosphere and the food was lovely (Sunday lunch) however it is a bit pricey and not going to be a regular place for Sunday lunch. Two of us for 2 pints each (1 off shandy and 1 of lager) and Sunday roast came to a whopping £98. 😬😵‍💫

Have eaten here numerous times over the years. The brie wedges and steak are always amazing and more recently having tried the Sunday Roasts, I can honestly say the Falcon's beats all previous roasts ever had out. Service and staff are always on point. Always a happy, content (and very full 🐷) customer upon leaving... Thank you again!

I love the Falcon. It's just an amazing place, with amazing service and an all round good vibe to it. I've been before and didn't rate, so thought I'd better resolve that immediately! We all had steak... no shock there.... my partner had the Fillet, the other 2 had the ribeye, one 12oz and 1 16oz... I was having the 32oz Tomahawk. I had it cooked medium, conscious that a big hunk of meat like that might need a little more than my usual med rare. It was PERFECT!!! I also highly recommend the Bloody Nora orange IPA... knocks your socks off!

Incredible food, the service was amazing, they even asked if we were there for a special occasion and as it was our anniversary wrote happy anniversary on the plates 😊 such a lovely place and great for gluten free!

Visiting friends in Bristol and decided to have a Sunday roast out rather than stay in the hotel. Found this steakhouse via Google reviews and hoped it would live up to its reputation. It exceeded it. I was mainly attracted to the fact the restaurant is closely linked / owned? by the butchers. Atmosphere was perfect. Tables nicely spaced apart. Tasteful decor. Clean and tidy and a warm feeling. Service from staff was excellent. I didn't get the young man's name who served us (tall lad with closely cropped hair) , but his manner and approach was extremely professional and a lovely welcome. I last saw this level of service at a Michelin star restuarant. Eg attentive but not intrusive. Food was a generous serving. Served hot and the vegetables were just right. It was also lovely to see the meat cooked to pink or rare. I cannot stand overcooked lamb etc. They obviously know their meat. Parking on the road is limited. So get there a bit early to lessen any stress. Thank you and we are definitely coming back here when visiting and have already told friends and family about you. Regards, Mark

Amazing food last nite, steak was fantastic, dauphone pots were the best I've had, staff were really good and friendly always carrying a huge smile, wine was good too. Definitely go again.

Went for my birthday meal. We shared the chateaubriand sharing platter. It was great value, amazingly delicious and great portion sizes. The cheesy garlic bread was particularly delicious, steak melt in the mouth. Staff lovely too. Thanks guys, keep up the good work

We had ĺunch in The Falcon and had a really lovely time.I have known the owner for many years and he really gives you and ensures his staff deliver wonderful food ànd a warm friendly welcome. Any downside may be parking as there is only street parking but from memory they didn't have cars when this building was first built? Parking is not usually a problem but would recommend arriving early just in case. Not cheap but hey if you want that special place this is it!!! Also provides great farm produce to take away.Look at the website you won't be disappointed.Local restaurant with locally produced food what more can you want!!!

If you like beef steak then this is the place for you! We enjoyed beautifully cooked sirloin steaks (23/05/2024) and chose 3 sides each which were included in the price of the steaks - not cheap but a very nice treat 😋 as we don't eat much red meat these days. The servers were all friendly and happy and made us/everyone feel special! Only downside(s) was the total lack of ambience of where we were placed in the Snug - quite intrusive music (a medley of various songs) which was unnecessary and quite bright lighting so you kinda felt you were in a café. The Falcon doesn't have a carpark but we were lucky to find a spot on a street not far away. The evening menu wasn't easy to navigate and a waitress had to explain! (Photo attached: we weren't sure if we could choose 2 small sides and/or 1 large side dish. It turned out we could have both). BTW the lunch set menu for OAPs looks rather confusing too... (photo attached) so see what you think 🤔 😉 It appears the Falcon has a public bar which looked and sounded busy and a butcher's counter - a novel addition!

This was a gem of a find. Very welcoming staff got a table straight away. All their meat comes from their own farm, so they also have butchers in another room. The waiter offered us to choose our steaks . We had ribeye, which were cooked perfectly. The choice of sides was amazing. Well, it's worth a visit. I suggest booking because it's very popular.

Friendly, helpful staff and delicious food (and plenty of choice!). My steak came exactly as I asked for it to be cooked. We really enjoy coming here - and the addition of a nice butcher counter is very welcome

Lovely evening enjoying some great food. Nice to see a menu that focuses around a specialty, with some options without being exhaustive. Steak was cooked beautifully and the wine was great too. Service was excellent, personable and friendly, not overbearing, and made the whole visit feel comfortable. They have a lunchtime menu that I would take full advantage of if only I lived nearby! Definitely worth stopping in here. Book to avoid disappointment.

We came for a last minute meal on a Friday night after hearing about The Falcon. It totally lived up to its reputation and we are already planning our next visit. The steak was perfect with top-tier sides and service! Highly recommend.

We had a great time. The whole experience was first class. The restaurant was perfectly spaced... not too far apart but not too close either. The atmosphere was great... again a good amount of background chatter but not overly so. The choice of steaks, sauces and sides were extensive and cooked to perfection. The 32oz tomahawk is 32oz of meat and doesn't include the bone! We also had burgers and fillet steaks all cooked perfectly to our liking. The starters and deserts were equally delicious and good value. The service was awesome. The staff were knowledgeable and attentive with just the right amount making sure we were OK. They remembered each of our orders without having to ask. All around lovely experience. Totally recommended!

Enjoyed dinner here on a Wednesday night recently. Great service, great food and all very reasonably price, in fact better than some steakhouse that I've paid double the price at. Left feeling content too, not too full and not empty stomach. Only points for improvement really are some of the tables are just poorly places, in particular the table we shared was in front of a pillar and it was just not a good location, unfortunely it waa the only table for 2 left so you take what you're given sometime. I'd definitely return, but would make a point to not or never again have the same table.

Finally book ourselves a table and we were not disappointed. Cheese cibatta to start and a big enough portion to share (or wouldn't have had room for main) Had the ribeye steak, was cooked to perfection 👌 onion rings were yummy, dauphinoise potatoes very very nice & plenty of peppercorn sauce. Burger, made as you like was very filling, but Mouthwatering Unfortunately were too full for dessert, but never fear, they do takeaway!!! Sticky toffee pudding with plenty of toffee sauce and the biscoff bannoffe pie went down a treat. A great place to go for a special occasion, would recommend & will definitely be going back

My wife and I have been on a Steak journey over the last few years, trying different places all over the south-west. I've got to be honest, nowhere comes close to The Falcon. I'd go as far to say you don't know how good steak can taste until you've been there.

I visited this establishment for the first time and it won't be the last. I had a ribeye steak and it was absolutely amazing. One of the best steaks I've ever had. The side dishes were very tasty and complemented the steak perfectly. I treated myself to a pudding too; the treacle toffee pudding was delicious. Excellent service to top off the experience. Me and the wife's first time here but my son recommended the falcon . The food was lovely the service very good . We will be back . No car park but plenty of street parking or there's a free yes free car park not far away.

It's best to reserve at night as it's always full. The staff are really polite and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The food isn't cheap but it's worth the extra as it's soooo nice. You have a 2 hour window to eat but service its prompt and there's always enough time. There's a good selection of drinks both non alcoholic and alcoholic. The deserts are to die for but they are all very sweet. A 10% service charge is automatically added to your bill, which can be quite a lot of you have a large party of people but you do get good service. It's a bit difficult to park close to the restaurant in the day so you may need to walk a bit.

The Falcon is always a favourite for a special occasion. Every time I've visited then it's been fantastic food and a great service from the whole team. The steaks are of course the highlight of the menu, with a good variety of cuts available, always cooked to perfection. The burgers are also fantastic, as is the selection of desserts to finish, many available to take away.

Possibly the best steak I've ever eaten, lovely staff, great atmosphere! We will definitely be visiting here again soon.

Visiting from London, with alledgedly the "best" steak restaurants... what an absolute beautiful surprise this little restaurant in the Cotswolds was. One of the best steaks I have ever had and an absolute bargain price wise. All staff were super friendly and attentive. Highly highly recommend this place.

What a lovely surprise it was too discover this place just on our doorstep. Tried to book a table last minute for a very important anniversary, but as they were full when I phoned, they were so accommodating. Put my name on a wait list for any cancellations and shortly managed to book the last table for our meal. Not only was the service impeccable, friendly, attentive and helpful, but the food was cooked to perfection. We all had a steak, sirloin, fillet and rib eye. Each cooked differently to our exact specification. Very nice side dishes, sweet potato fries, skinny fries and chunky fries, with a range of sauces and dips, and a few nibbles whilst we waited for the main event. Whilst only one of our party could manage a dessert, they can recommend the biscoff banofie pie - and I must admit it looked amazing. All in all we would very highly recommend the Falcon Steakhouse - whilst expensive, it was worth every penny. Thank you 🌝

What can I say... 'Fabulous Falcon!'. Excellent service from the second we entered the premises, personalised and attentive. Obviously if you like steak the menu has great choices (Vegans & Veggies beware but the clue is in the name). Choice of non alcoholic drinks was also very good, compared to a lot of places. Thoroughly enjoyed their very rewarding 32oz rump with just enough room to choose from a good selection of puddings. Thank you.

Fantastic food and service, a lot of choice and all delicious. Will be going back to try the sharing platter. Parking was difficult, had to walk in a storm but they turned the fire up for us when we got in.

Fab food with really friendly staff, we sat by the wood burner in the cosy lounge and made friends with all the dogs - perfect Sunday afternoon!

Definitely not a budget night out but when the food is that good it's not begrudged. Would have given 5 stars if there was a bit more choice from the steak menu...bit it does market itself as a steak house!

We were very disappointed after reading previous reviews. I ordered my steak cooked medium, It was served to me well done. The second waitress did not come to check if our food was OK. My Husband's burger was not much better than a frozen risole. This is not fine dining. The ambiance is maybe one step above a cafe.

Went for Sunday lunch in mid December, on a last minute booking. It was the best roast dinner I've had this year. Proper good! Basically a steak with all the roast trimmings. I can totally get behind that.

I cannot praise The Falcon enough. We came here for a birthday celebration and all of the staff went out of their way to make us feel special. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced considering how wonderful it is. I cannot wait to return!

A wonderful spot on the Wotton-Under-Edge High street! Anyone who has an eye for art or is a general art lover will love this spot! They offer a great selection on their set lunch menu as well as an enticing main menu. Everything is locally sourced and tastes delicious. The staff were incredibly welcoming and did a fantastic job at accommodating to everyone's needs.

A lovely place to eat, catered for Coeliac in the food choices and the steak was perfect. thank you, we will be back!
