Pre- booked for Sunday lunch, 20 people including children. Vegetables, delicious and lots of choice, meat cooked to perfection, we all enjoyed our meal, all plates were nearly licked clean. Would love to visit again..

Wanted to try somewhere new, eat out twice a week at local pubs , usual fish, steak ,burgers etc. No real reviews so took a chance. Walked into bar where we were met by a very pleasant lady behind the bar who served drinks, great personality . We were given a menu and told to find a seat. When we were given menu I was amazed by the lack of items and the lack of imagination on the menu, very little to choose from, my wife and I thought ok few items but done well we can live with.we both chose fish and chips. Well when these meals arrived I was amazed at the lack of effort, imagination, and sheer lack of respect to you customer was given to this meal. I am 55 years old and can honestly say it is the worst meal I have eaten, or tried to eat, The fish was overcooked and was the cheapest frozen fish ,mushy peas wet and watery, and as for the 12 chips, put in a basket for effect forget it, When we tried the fish it was still frozen and cold in the middle. we both obviously sent it back, we were then told they wouls take £5 OFF FOOD BILL REALLY.2 MEALS RETURNED THEY EXPECTED PAYMENT.anyway we told them we were not prepared to pay when we had not eaten. Tesco on way home was our tea. Sorry for this first negative review but so many things were good about this pub.but you do need to find a chef who gives a f--k and shows some passion for his work

We have decided to place a regular order to reserve a table here for Sunday lunch, we have rarely missed a lunch here, it is a carvery and the food cannot be faulted ! With the selection of meat and chose your own veg you will never leave your table hungry, then there is a selection of deserts if you can manage one. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The premises are clean and airy with a garden play area for children.

Visited my family in Leicester and they took me here for Sunday lunch. There were initially 16 of us in total, then 4 more wanted to join us, and the landlady was very accommodating and managed to arrange tables so that we all sat together (we did pre-book). Most of the family opted for the carvery, whereas 4 of us, who are vegetarians, were given 5 alternative main meal choices, and all of us decided on the vegetarian wellington; this was similar to a ratatouille style filling wrapped in a delicious pastry. We were then shown to the carvery area where we helped ourselves to as many vegetables and accompaniments as we desired. We were also given vegetarian gravy. For just under £7 for one course, I'm so pleased that I didn't indulge in a second course as I was sufficiently full. An excellent venue for a family Sunday lunch.

Weve had a few very nice meals at the fairfield inn since the new owners took over last year. Everytime the food has been excellent and very good value. On the last occasion we had relatives over from USA and Australia so wanted somewhere we had eaten before that was easy for us all to get to. Lunchtime is a carvery and we are vegetarian but having eaten there before i knew that as long as you book in advance and say what your requirements are it would not be a problem. Everyone got their carvery and we had vegetable pies. The food was hot, well cooked and there was plenty of it. After 5 most weeknights there are various '2 for £10' offers on, burger night, fish and chips and pies, and on fridays accompanied children eat free with adults. The pub has a garden with childrens play area and often has live music or open mic nights.

My daughter & I went to the Wigston Cheesecake shop on 8th February 2021 approximately 11.30 am. We saw a cheescake we liked in the open fridge cabinet and tried to find someone to help us. My daughter saw the young female assistant doing something behind the counter and after a waiting for her we had to get her attention and ask if we could have the cheesecake we chose. She took it to the back & after a while returned to start writing on her clipboard and she totally ignored us. I asked her what happened to our cheesecake and she said that it was out of date and should not have been on display in the first place and continued writing on her clipboard. We received no apology and she didn't seem to care about us. We walked out in disbelief at the terrible service. We then went to Gregg's instead across the road and got some delicious doughnuts and the lady was so friendly and gave the best service with a smile. The cheesecake shop should learn from Gregg's what service with a smile means. WELL DONE GREGG'S & THANKS FOR YOUR EXCELLENT SERVICE! Will never visit the Cheesecake Shop again!

Pizza was spot on. Chips were terrible though, very under cooked. I had to put them in the oven, but were still vile afterwards so didn’t eat most of them. Shame as they are really nice when you go into the shop 🤷🏻♀️
