The Failand Inn in North Somerset

We visited here with our camper van on a stop over. Phoned ahead to check it was OK to park overnight and were assured it was not a problem. The staff were cheery and welcoming. There was a great choice on the menu, as well as a specials board. Generous portions and good value for money. A popular place for locals given that although it was mid week, all but one table was occupied. Highly recommended! Great food, great place, and great people!

Service was so friendly but the food was really not very good. Had the steak and ale pie with chips and peas. Chips were really good but the pastry on the pie was soggy and the gravy was standard granule gravy . The sticky toffee pudding is definitely not a sticky toffee pudding, more like a syrup sponge and a bad one at that. The caramel sauce tasted really chemically. Such a shame because I had been really looking forward to a nice STP!

Gorgeous steak cooked to perfection ; home made steak mushroom and butcombe ale pie was delicious.

Amazing place. Called in after being let down at another pub not far away and they couldn't have been lovelier. Food was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely visit again.

The food was decent enough. . . .when it eventually arrived! We were a party of 12 , table booked a couple of days previous so not a complete surprise, they ran out of roast meat (Sunday lunch) and it took an hour 20mins to arrive after ordering - how?? Huge jacket potatoe ordered by one was accompanied by lots of garnish. Very nice. The battered fish ordered by another was also extremely good just a shame the service was such a shambles really.

Our food was initially delivered to the wrong table. We then saw that table get more food delivered to them incorrectly shortly after. Food was nice (meat was a bit salty). Nice and friendly.

Lovely countryside pub. Great but basic pub food, good beer. Allowed us to stay overnight in our motorhome, bit of a noisy road for that.

They coped really well with a party of 36 of us.

Came for Sunday lunch on 27/10/24 Welcome was very friendly. It was good to see they served smaller plates too. The roasts were delicious! We all had a different meat (beef, lamb, chicken, pork) and every meal was thoroughly enjoyed. Lovely pub with a nice atmosphere. Dog friendly too. We will definitely return very soon.

Very welcoming pub with great food at reasonable prices all the staff are polite and friendly no charge for stopping over in a camper if you eat in the restaurant, Definitely one I would recommend

This pub is worth stopping at it has the fill of a country pub It has a good choice of beers and ciders. The menu choice is good with some specials and classic pub meals and reasonably priced Not busy in the afternoon did not have to wait long for the meal to be served Nice garden at the rear Chips nice and crispy local ham tasty and thick cut other meals coming out looked good

We had a meal at this lovely pub and it was a place where you could have a small. It was quite that there were not a lot of people

Lovely pub food, the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a meal on a Friday, they served food until 8.15pm, there is a kids menu and dogs are allowed. Good sized portions and really nice. Would definitely come here again for a meal/drink.

Nice place and food very good. Only downside was we were booked in for Sunday 13:00 and didn't get food until gone 14:30.

We held mothers wake at the Failand Inn and they did her proud. The staff were excellent and the quality of the buffet was superb as the weather was good we had the use of the garden. Thank you all for making mums final send off so special.

We were travelling south and found this pub a short drive from and subsequently back onto the M5 motorway. We visited on a Monday evening and stayed overnight on the large car park. The communication with Josh prior to our visit was excellent he even kindly emailed a current menu. A table was reserved and we really enjoyed our 3 course meal with good table service.

Food was correctly done. Wasn't moved. Nothing to say bad though. If you are in the area and you are hungry . . . . . by all means

Lovely little pub, lots of history......free car park, wheelchair accessible, disabled toilet. Plenty of drinks to choose from & a great menu. I had roast beef dinner which was the best I've had In a long time. My husband had steak cooked to perfection. Highly recommended.

Sadly on this occasion 2 meals were very poor. The usually very good steak and mushroom pie ( our regular favourite) was extremely dry, dark, odd tasting , appearing warmed up and gravy non existent We were asked if our meals were ok at the very beginning before we had got into eating. Rang to give feedback on our disappointment. At £31 for 2 pie meals the Failand has got expensive of late and quality awful.Total spend was £72 95. Poor attitude from co owner on telephone who would said he could not do anything about it so will not be returning. Great shame as local.

We stayed here in our van and were very grateful for the hospitality. It was a good place to stop near Bristol and on the way to Cheddar. We loved the corned beef hash and the lasgane- absolutely delicious! The staff were very friendly and we had a quiet night- handily for breakfast there is a cafe just yards away as well. Great stopover and many thanks

Was on overnight stop before airport in a local B&B .and the B&B owner recommended The Failand..food was beautiful, service excellent and all with reasonable prices..Will definitely return 👏

Amazing food! Reasonable price too. The Hunters chicken was the best ever. Their cauliflower cheese bake was blooming lovely and honestly never had a bad meal here. Compliments to the chef. The staff are lovely too.

This is a very friendly nice old pub. The staff are great the food is excellent and the beer is really good. I seriously recommend the Steak and Mushroom Pie.

Stopped off at the last minute after a dog walk with family. The food and beer were good, hearty pub fare. Nothing fancy but good and honest grub. The place is a bit dated and dusty looking, but the service was nice and we left happy.

We popped in on our way past, on the off chance, and were very pleased with our time spent there. It was a quiet period, with tables ready for the evening rush. The food was excellent, as we're the staff. Very accommodating indeed. We will visit the Failand Inn again, for sure.

Not as good as the last time I was here. Service slow, veg hard especially the carrots. Got our order wrong twice. As a Sunday roast you don't expect the place to run out of beef. As with most establishments you can take home your uneaten food. Although we asked to do this, when it came time to leave, we were informed that it had been thrown away. So mot good at all

The service was very slow. We got to it was table service. We waited for 20 mins. I went to the bar and asked for drinks, to be told someone will be over, waited another 10 mins. The food was nice

My kind of pub. Good beer, great food, great service. But think £7.50 for a glass of wine is a bit steep.

Three of us went for a meal the other night. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. Very generous portions too!

The only problem was the booking made on the phone was not put up for a table.

We love it here but we miss the deal for 3 smaller courses for £14 pre covid.

Very good food well worth a visit

Wonderful pub. Great personal service. Good size beer garden and two separate indoor areas. Went there twice while on holiday and had excellent Sunday roast one day and really good lunch another day. Wide ranging menu and good selection of beers. Try the Doom Beer.
