The Exchequer in Fife

It was a cold spring evening when we came to the establishment, St paddies day to be exact and the atmosphere was that of a funeral. The place was like a haunted ghost ship without a soul in sight .When me and my companions approached the bar a rude barmaid who posed as the “manager” refused one of our ID’s which was a provisional drivers license that was NOT expired may I add!!! based on the fact it looked like an “old photo”. This is not legal and simply will not do. over all ,this ruined our celebration of st paddy’s day and set the tone for the entire evening…. We are not a happy bunch.

Went there for a lunch. Macaroni cheese is to die for, definitely tasty. Little busy on a Tuesday afternoon. Good customer service and fast service.

Was in for lunch and the food was delicious. Didn't have to wait long and the service from Lauren was great. Friendly and got whatever we needed quickly and without any bother. Will definitely be back.

Was in yesterday for a quick drink and the service from Lauren and danni was great. Very welcoming and friendly.

As before, excellent & personal service. Ordered at bar, delivered to table very promptly. We will return again on a regular basis.

Customer service was outstanding from lovely Dani. A warm welcome and fast service. For a small breakfast for only £5.99 you can't complain. Everything was cooked to our standard anyway. My dads also a chef and likes to complain but his only complaint was he didn't didn't order the larger breakfast.

As I was with my son for breakfast this morning who sent a review there is not much I can add it was excellent thank you Dani sever was great and to the chef as sometimes are the forgotten cog in the wheel. Thank you again ian

If you are looking for cheap and cheerful and want to avoid weatherspoons, this is your place. Nice atmosphere, dog friendly, plenty tvs for sport and a seemingly bustling nightlife. Portions are big too! There's a lass that works there, young with black hair. I can't remember her name but she's the wee star of the show. Lovely natured and always makes a fuss over my mums dog.

Sunday evening/night out catching up with friends, decided to also eat, decided on the Nachos, not something I usually eat but it was a first class sharing option, served by a very polite/cheerful young lady called Dani. We stayed a while longer and decided on another sharing meal, chicken wings, again, first class, and didn’t have to wait long to be served . Overall really good value drinks/food, and good service…

After a long coastal hike, the Exchequer was a welcome find for our group. Modern, clean, and inviting, it offered affordable food and drinks in generous portions. The staff were friendly and attentive, making for a relaxed and enjoyable visit. A great spot to unwind after exploring the coast. I had the BBQ Mac Burger and a loaded sundae—both were delicious.

Had a lovely lunch meal with my mum and gran here, i hope i spell her name right, but Danny our waitress was so kind and helpful and happy to help at any time, even suggested ways for us to save some money and was great with dietary requirements as well 😊 don't see it very often seeing a happy face greeting you every time. Food was absolutely fabulous 👏

Had fab meal, plenty of choice on the menu including smaller portions too. Staff are always lovely, Danni was a great server, friendly and helpful. Bacon and cheese toastie was fab but the star of the show was the loaded sundae!! Yum 😋

Exchequer has always been a favourite! We are there very often breakfast is good, cheap and quick service. Night life is great too. Dani severs is often and is brilliant.

Everything was spot on and the staff are very approachable expecially jade and danny as they go above and beyond . The customer service is great and also the atmosphere.

Attended for food on Saturday 18th January. Food was excellent. Staff were amazing notably staff member “Danny”. Would recommend the pub to anyone as good and staff brilliant

Went for Christmas lunch today with eight friends and chose turkey from Christmas menu. I'm usually disappointed with turkey dinners although it's great if you get a good one. My expectations were low but this was possibly the best one I have had that wasn't home cooked. Turkey was so tasty, roasties brown and crispy, stuffing and pig in blanket brown and crispy, not pale and fatty as so often, veg nicely cooked, not soft and a sauce boat of lovely gravy to add as desired. Piece de resistance was the Yorkshire pudding and red cabbage. Just delicious! Dessert (apple tart) was very good too with perfect creamy custard in a jug, not too sweet. My friend's macaroni also looked delicious and good portion, as was my other friend's cheeseboard. Service good too. I'd go back again tomorrow! Thanks, guys!

I was in this morning for breakfast with my son that has Austim and really have to say Danny the bar maid was fantastic couldn't of ask for any. Better will Defford be going back

Went to the exchequer yesterday for some drinks and a catch up with some old friends, even though it was busy we were greeted and served with patience and kindness by Jade who served us with nothing but a smile. Stayed the majority of the night, where the same service continued by Dylan and Jonathan. Would highly recommend.

Jonathan is amazing his banter is always class. Give him a raise !! He’s so down to earth and can have a laugh whilst doing his job. Xx also he never makes girls feel uncomfortable

Visited here today with my hubby and 17yr old granddaughter . We purchased 2 x bbq chicken baked potato lunch time meal deals and a Mac and cheese baked tattie meal deal. Great Value for money, and were really tasty. Was served by a young lassie named Danni, and she was so nice, asking if all was ok and if we enjoyed our meal and if there was anything else we needed. Customer service was spot on. Also guy at bar, didn’t catch his name, wee bit older with glasses , he too was very friendly and helpful. We will defo be back, as we were made to feel very relaxed and welcome, and as I said earlier the food was exceptional value for money.. £6.50 with a drink included, where else could you get great food and great service? Thank you again x

The atmosphere was busy and rather noisy as you might expect from a sports bar with multiple screens. There were only two staff taking orders at the bar for food and drinks and there was no proper queuing system. However, by far the worst aspect was the food itself. It sounded inviting enough on the menu but what was actually served did not measure up and represented very poor value e.g. a chicken and bacon salad that was 90% lettuce. This was our first visit to the Exchequer and it will be our last. It might be OK for drinks but if you're wanting food then I strongly recommend you go elsewhere.

Great pub. Huge bar great range of ales and lagers Very chilled Friendly staff and good food I had bangers and mash with thick gravy and chopped red onion garnish and garden peas which I felt were undercooked but the food was piling hot and delicious and a great portion size I think I spent £18 including a pint. I went back for breakfast but the kitchen was closed for repair Darn it Highly recommend a favourite with the locals

Popped in for an early dinner I had an ice cold peroni and bangers and mash with garden peas Three sausages on creamy mash with rich dark gravy and garden peas. Garnished with chopped red onions. Fantastic nice chill vibe not many people about clean and spacious. Will go back soon Cost me £13

Got two mixed grills both arrived without sausage or chicken went to tell them about sausage then realised the chicken wasn’t there but the excuse we got was the chef fell off her bike that day poor excuse the other food was lovely other than the steaks that were hard to chew

The servers Jade and Dylan were very helpful and friendly. The service and drinks were excellent. The BBQ Mac burger was very good, and the customisation options were very thorough.

Jonathan is amazing barman. Made me and my friends laugh so much with his humour. Definitely wouldn’t be the same place with out him.

Food was good but basic - no extras like coleslaw or onion rings with burger. Was good value. Great selection of beer. Staff are absolutely lovely ❤️

Spent multiple days in the Exchequer with friends Julie and Mark and family Joyce and Bill while on our three week holiday here. We have been in multiple times for drinks and/or a meal, had a great time at the quiz on Thursday nights and at the bingo on the Friday afternoons. We really appreciate the pub being dog friendly, this has made it easier and more enjoyable going out as a complete family. We have enjoyed the food on the new menu and have therefore gone out this evening for one last meal before we head back to the Netherlands tomorrow afternoon. Thank you to Dave and all the staff for being so welcoming. See you next time we’re back in August, we’re looking forward to it, Karen and Lorna (and Finnly the dog) from the Netherlands

Waited an hour then food came gammon was charged and very salty no pineapple one under cooked egg on the mixed grill chicken was dry gammon zgain charged sausage was not Cumberland I should know as I lived there steak could not put a knife through it also when it was torn apart to chewie so no would not recommend at sll.

Awesome place for both food and drinks! It's not too overcrowded and it's suitable both for families or just friendly hangout. Food and cocktails are pretty good and cheap, so it's great. There's a nice deal where you can get 3, 5, or 7 (i think) small plates, for decent price, but usually with 3 plates you'll get 2-3 people full probably, so it's a really nice deal for £11! Also good fish and chips and desserts:)

I was in on Sunday and the staff were lovely the servers that I had were Jade and Ashleigh they were both welcoming and great

Pub which broadcasts sport and more particularly football matches. Lots of screens allowing you to follow the competition in different places in the bar. For food, you order at the bar, pay and sit down. The waiter then brings us our order. For drinks, everything happens directly at the bar. 2 types of fries: waffle or fries. Possibility of parking in the streets for free depending on the time.

Always have a great experience at Exchequor,whether it for a meal with my kid in the afternoon or night out with pals.Food is exceptional and reasonably priced,vast selection of drinks and music and tv’s are top notch.Also the staff are always,friendly,approachable and just extremely nice.Always enjoy my times at Exchequor,recommend it to everyone.

Was in yesterday for some food and drink food. The food was the typical pub grub and hit the spot. The service was spot on with Gary and Jonathan making sure our stay was an enjoyable one.
