Dervish in Fife

Great doner wrap, full of tasty meat, salad and a variety of sauces to choose from. The wraps were huge and certainly filled us up. There is seating inside also. The takeaway menu is very extensive, burgers, pizzas the lot! Good place to eat it you want tasty food quickly.

We were staying at St Monan's holiday park and placed an order online for 10 people. The ordering process was easy and the takeway was delivered on time, by a very friendly delivery driver. We ordered a selection of pizzas, which were fully loaded with toppings and piping hot, also pakoras which were all served with fresh salad, lemon wedges and dipping sauces and not forgetting the must-have chips and chips n cheese, which the kids loved! Easy to order, efficient delivery and delicious fast food, which filled our tummies just nicely. Thank you Dervish!

Went on a Friday night and we were overcharged. Wonder if they do this alot thinking you won't realise because you've had a few drinks....update the prices on your leaflet or make sure the staff are aware of prices.

Disgusting. Firstly using the same tools to dip into a bucket of raw chicken and then into cooked food without cleaning them.

Terrible customer service. Rude staff. Called seconds after to cancel the order and the staff lied claiming it had already been prepared and demanding pay. WOULD NOT RECCOMEND!

Worst place for a calazoni no meat in corners just in middle and bland no taste to it never again. Dino's was shut yesterday so I thought as try it next time al wait for dinos

Pizzas are really tasty and the kebabs are mahoosive but also really tasty. One of the best takeaway places about. A must visit every trip to St Andrews 👍

Tasty kebab staff are a bit abrupt.

Food arrived and had clearly been dropped, pizza toppings and cheese off pizza, we were also one pizza short. Called to complain and staff were extremely rude. Didnt know when they would get the missing pizza to us. I then took food in to show them how it was delivered and again very rude and did not want to know. Had to get food from elsehwere and no refund or missing pizza. Will not use this place again, wish had read the reviews as there seems to be a pattern here.

Came here for lunch. Good choice and decent quality options. I would say for St Andrews as food home cooked or fresh the price you pay is fair, portions average but overall worth a stop by for lunch if hungry.

We visited last Saturday and had 2 toasties, which were excellent and reasonably priced. WEe've eatenn there before and will certainly do so again. First class friendly service.

We stopped in here at the suggested of my son who was lured in by burgers :-) Didn’t expect much as thought it was just fast food at first glance, however we were pleasantly surprised. The food was good, portion sizes generous, delicious coleslaw and my word.... the Turkish coffee was FANTASTIC!! Next time I visit St Andrews I’ll stop off even if it’s just for the coffee!!

The food is god, but they got my order wrong. When I said they looked a little non plus. I am easy going so smiled and said its fine I'll take it, to which they charged me the wrong price. Considering its mainly after a night out you're in there. I wonder how many people et over charged regularly.

The food was ok but my wife to her disgust found a live ant in the salt shaker we said to the waitress and she just went o ant let me take that from you no sorry or any thing needles to say we will not be going bk there again

We had spent the whole morning in St Andrews and what a great day we had. We also had our guide dog puppy with us (who is 7 months old and very well behaved) As normal around late lunch time we were looking for a place to eat. I went inside to ask if it was ok to bring the dog in and was told No. I clarified and asked are trained guide dogs allowed? I was told no. But I really thought we had found a really nice place to eat. I would love to say we had a great lunch but not on this occasion. I don’t know where they will stand if a blind person goes into this place with their service dog. To be honest I really don’t think they were sure what to do but I hope you do enjoy your lunch when you go there. Just do t take a guide dog pup

Not the best food but was OK, but service was rather chaotic.

Best Falafel and hummus. Great Turkish tea. Lamb was perfection. We love it. Clean. Friendly service.

Had the best meal, it was delicious, reasonably priced. If I’m ever back in St Andrews I will visit again.

This place is amazing for late night food...and not just because it’s one of the only choices. We expected mediocre food after the bars closed and were extremely surprised at how delicious the pizza, chips and kebabs were! Go for the mixed kebob and the meat feast pizza!

Service great, girl came straight over to help me, as dad is wheelchair bound, moved chairs at table , came back for our order in 5mins, I asked if i could have children’s portions, which was not a problem, food was lovely and ample enough, dad had one of their burger meals, more than enough, he struggled, the place was busy, staff very friendly, would recommend.

I’m not from the UK so I’m not going to sign up for some stupid Deliveroo app, but I called this place looking for takeaway to be delivered to my hotel. THEY WOULDN’T SELL ME DINNER BECAUSE I DON’T HAVE THEIR APP? Whatevs - there are other places that will take my money, Bye Felicia!

Best kebab meat I can remember.

Great cheap eats. Large portions and good quality. Get variety of food and suitable for vegetarians. I got the falafel wrap and it was surprisingly delicious. Fries are also great.

There are complaints of the staff being rude, but I haven't had any issues so far. One of the only places open this late, so I do recommend going at the end of the night if you're starved.

Pedimos hamburguesas turcas, ensalada de pollo a la parrilla y pollo Calzoni Pizza.

Was looking for somewhere quick and easy with a Children’s menu for lunch. Stopped in here. The food was great and the staff were lovely. We ordered calzone, wrap and a kids macaroni which were all cooked freshly.

We enjoyed the food and service for lunch. My falafel plate was great, and my wife enjoyed her veggie and cheese wrap.

Absolutely terrible! uncooked meat in raw tomatoes covered with a layer of cheese! Who in their right mind add cheese to Turkish cuisine?

First time visit to this nice restaurant. Very good value. Lovely freshly made meals. Very nice chips! Will definitely visit again.

Have had 3 visits and enjoyed every meal , staff attentive and friendly . Good value for excellent meals but on.each occasion had to go to the bank for cash as the card reader was not available ! A notice in the window would alleviate any problems when going.to.pay the bill. Still highly reccomend it for a tasty meal.

Large family party of 25 and all left very happy with the food and service. Made all feel welcome. Nice mezze starters and good selection to cater for fussy eaters too!.

Visitamos aquí un domingo por la tarde en marzo para almorzar y no me decepcionó. El servicio fue amable, agradable y profesional, y la comida muy sabrosa y abundante. El café era bueno y el ambiente agradable. Los baños están arriba, que son bastante angostos, por lo que no estoy seguro si son adecuados para clientes con movilidad reducida. Definitivamente una buena relación calidad-precio y vale la pena una visita!

We had our lunch there. The restaurant was neat, clean & spaces. Price of meals was reasonable. Staff were helpful and and friendly. There are restrooms in the restaurant. Cars have to park at the paying lots along the roads.

Mira, no sé mucho sobre pizza, pero cada vez que vengo a la calle. ¡Andrews es lo primero que espero con ansias! La pizza pakora, la espero más que cualquier otra cosa en el mundo, especialmente después de haber estado bebiendo. Tengo uno en mi regazo ahora y está medio perdido, pero tuve que comer una pieza antes de irme de la tienda porque me encanta. Me enojé cuando no pude comerlo en el taxi camino a casa. Tenía miedo de derramar salsa en los asientos. Ahora estoy en casa y me estoy comiendo el resto y escribiendo esta crítica porque amo a Dervish.

Llegué a la calle Andrews muy tarde y traté de encontrar un sitio donde comer algo y, curiosamente para un pueblo estudiantil, solo había un lugar que podíamos encontrar: Dervish. Situado al lado de la fila de taxis a altas horas de la noche y obviamente popular entre los juerguistas nocturnos. Pedimos llevar las pizzas que no solo tenían un precio razonable, sino que llegaron rápidamente y cuando volvimos al coche estaban perfectamente cocinadas y deliciosas. Tienen un rango razonable en sus menús para llevar y también asientos. Realmente contento de haber encontrado esto en lugar de las "cadenas conocidas"

Este es el mejor lugar en el que he estado para llevar, los chicos detrás del mostrador son muy divertidos, el lugar tiene una vibra real, una noche en la que fui a la fiesta! Era como un club nocturno, ¡me encanta!

Absolutely no toilets available to customers, no matter what you spent or how many times you've been. Ridiculous, won't be back. Extortionate for what the quality is.

Turkish restaurant, fairly priced A two course would be around 12. As a visitor its worth to try other 2 course deals in the surrounding (consult st andrews map)

In ormai dieci giorni di vacanze scozzesi, una sola volta ci è capitato di mangiare male: in questo assurdo "ristorante mediterraneo" che sotto questa etichetta cela un menù-pastrocchio dove si accatastano pizze - disgustose alla vista -, kebab e quant'altro si possa attribuire alle incolpevoli gastronomie dei paesi toccati dal citato mare. Purtroppo il tour - tutt'altro che eccezionale - che ci aveva condotto nel Fife ci lasciava solo una scarsa mezz'ora per riempire lo stomaco, e ci siamo cascati. Io non assegno quasi mai la qualifica "pessimo" a un ristorante (oddio, forse sarebbe meglio scrivere "un luogo dove si mangia"), ma quando ci vuole, ci vuole. D'accordo: 14,45 sterline per due ayran, un cuscus vegetariano (ma quando mai? Era bulgur e non couscous, poco e con un'incongrua salsina rossa, dei funghetti (!) e qualche pezzetto di un'insipidissima insaata) e un cigar borek (microscopico) sono poca cosa, ma a tutto c'è un limite e qui, in termini di scarso sapore, lo si supera abbondantemente. Da evitare.

Estábamos en la calle Andrews para una visita y necesitábamos un lugar para comer, que no estábamos demasiado hambre, pero nos apetecía algo diferente de su pescado y patatas fritas o estándar torta de carne así que optamos por Dervish. Pedimos el pollo envuelve. Estos eran geniales, eran grandes, de pollo y tenía un sabor excelente, ellos también llegaron con patatas fritas (aunque estaban bien cocinados) congelados. El servidor (lo siento no me dijo su nombre) fue educado, bien presentado y rápido. Si estás buscando un sabor de Turquía, este es el lugar.

Madre dijo nunca ir a algún sitio que de vacío! Pero la calle Andrews se jumpin y necesitábamos scran así que tendra en cuenta las madres consejos y arriesgamos en este café justo al lado de la avenida principal.

My family and  i went to the deverish for afternoon lunch on the 13th of February, when we entered initially it was quite quiet only a few other tables were taken. I think because it was quiet, people under estimated the place as it's off the main drag. I had the chicken burger with cheese which was lovely and i was delighted to see that it was real proper cheeder cheese not processed cheese; the burger also came with chips and colselaw which was a nice touch. My other family members had a chicken burger and cheese too, baked potato with haggis and baked potato with cheese which they all enjoyed. However one member of my family  had a cappuccino which wasn't pleasant as he said it was more hot water than coffee but none the less we had a lovely meal; just consider altering your coffee's

Dervish is without a doubt the best late night food restaurant in St Andrews. Any time I am hungry, sad, angry, whatever after having a few drinks the first place I go is dervish. Not only is the staff amazingly friendly... especially Naz (but everyone is great) but their cheesy chips and chicken burgers are just what I need after a night out. Naz and Coco are great. HOWEVER. The one thing that could make dervish better is if they introduced fried chicken to their menu. No where in St Andrews does it, and the town is crying out for good fried chicken (KFC style). That would make it 10/10 instead of 9/10Irish Girl

Have walked past this place many times but never ventured in. We will certainly be back. Friendly and welcoming staff and food that was extremely tasty and excellent value for money. Turkish food served and presented very well

A regular here, have not tried anything I have disliked. Friendly staff, decent prices, super tasty and varied food. Recommend it, especially if you are a fan of continental cafe style foods. :)

This is the classic place for a late night drunken snack for the university students. A family could go earlier in the night, but almost none do. The chips are decent, the pizza is bad, and the falafel is absolutely grim. It is ok if you are coming for a late night bite, but Empire is better. The service is also often aggressive, especially if you take more than 2 seconds to collect your order.

My friends said I had to go here after a night out. They were wrong. The pizza is magical any time of day. Like a leprechaun riding a unicorn under a rainbow in Narnia.

After finding loads of overpriced cafes, Dervish was a pleasant surprise. It's not very stylish, but the food is good and lots of it. I can definitely recommend the iskendar, very tasty.

Typical kebab shop visit,when drunk at end of night. Kebabs were ok nothing special although there mixed kebab was good. Guys do there best to get you served quick and hassle free which is all good when starving.

I visit this restaurant fairly often as the food is pretty good. It has had a recent upgrade which is great. The food is very good value but there is one small problem with this restaurant and that is that they close their toilets at 8 pm as I found out on a recent visit. As they are open past 1 am this is a disgrace added to this is that st Andrews is a student town and as such thye closure of toilets causes customers to try and seek other toilets e.g. over local doorways etc. Surely if you are a local business you have a duty to keep your toilets open and I am sure they are doing this against the law.

Had very nice experience for a change do not let the outside put you off as this is a nice place good food pleasant staff reasonable price quiet cheap compared to other restaurants in the area will visit again

Hamburgers inedible. Nice people but quality of food awful. Most restaurants in are are closed but we wanted late night post golf food and this was the only place open. Sorry but would never go back. Four diners and we all agreed.

We visited this small restaurant at lunchtime midweek. We were warmly welcomed. We were using a Spree discount voucher and enjoyed a very nice cheeseburger fries and a pot of tea each. The service was very speedy and the food was very fresh and hot (it was a bitterly cold day)

A great place. Any time of day. There is a stigma against sober Dervish, but I don't get it. Cheap, well cooked, and tasty. Thank you Dervish.
