Brilliant quality food at bargain prices

Fabulous time had by all. A longtime meet up and much care and thought put into the service by students and staff alike. A great all round experience for all I hope. Food great and decor very attractive and well thought out with acoustic panelling etc. Will be frequent flyers and a big thank you.

Went with a group of 11 fellow U3A classmates and had an absolutely fabulous time. The students serving were lovely and the food was really superb. As good as, if not better, than the majority of high end restaurants I’ve ever eaten in.

This is an amazing experience! The students are fantastic. Food is great served in style. Can't believe the price.... try it if you can get booked it.

Been 3 times this year. Always good food BUT my pet hate every time the food was NOT HOT! Cold plates! WHY?? Sent back, returned slightly warmer...... such a shame as such a simple thing to remedy. When I order I mention this and hope they will bring it hot but ....... no. Also, maybe a few more veg would be good. They all try hard and its a nice ambiance now. Next time, hot pleeese! 😏😊

The Escoffier restaurant at Bournemouth College is simply the most innovative and exceptional restaurant in Bournemouth . It is a training restaurant but under the watchful eyes of the chef and hospitality tutors the culinary delights 3 evenings a week served up in the tasting menus are just out of this world . We have eaten there many times over the years and every single meal has been fabulous . Since Covid days the evening menus have been tasting ones , 7 courses at around £33 . The themes of the menus change every month or so . The last one we went to had the theme East meets West . The restaurant is in a temporary building at the moment while the restaurant building is being rebuilt , it is smaller than usual so you must book to get a place . The young students who cook and serve the food are so cheerful and keen to please , all in all it is a fabulous place to eat . You can also have lunch at the college from Tuesday - Thursday , but another option is the fabulous £10 buffet lunch on Fridays , amazing value . You can tell on reading this that I am very enthusiastic about The Escoffier , if you have not yet been there the try it out and you will also fall in love with the place !

Three course lunch £17, great food and atmosphere. Definitely worth visiting again!

Have visited many times in the last couple of years and have been impressed each time. The students work extremely hard both front of house and pin the kitchen. Each dish arrived piping hot and a work of art displaying many skills. Wonderful flavours and excellent value for money. These students hopefully will go onto be our top chefs of the future. An enjoyable experience and suggest book well in advance as availability sells quickly. Can’t wait until our next visit in December.

We ate here on a Thursday night and had the 7 course taster menu, which at £30 would still be amazing value at twice the price. Food was absolutely fantastic and the service was brilliant as well. Can't recommend highly enough.

A unique and an exceptional experience. It was a privilege to experience these young chefs at the start of their careers. The food is perfect and it was lovely to chat to the students about their training both at the college and at their placements. It is a Six Stars. Best meal ever!

I took my parents for dinner here after seeing recommendations online. We had a 7 course tasting menu for £29 which in itself is a bargain! The food was lovely and I liked the variety of the courses, and the fact you didn’t know what you would get until the day. There was SO much food and I loved the little bits you got after dessert, we ended up having to take these home! The students were lovely and it was nice to chat with them about their course and seeing them being taught ☺️

We've visited catering college restaurants before and were looking forward to this. £16 for 3 courses? Yes, please. The place is a testament to the unplanned, build whatever wherever 70's architecture but they've managed to bling the room and it looks good. Starters of guinea fowl and mixed seafood were plated beautifully and tasted good. Mains of duck leg and sea bass were amazing; my sea bass was partnered with pak choi, water chestnuts and a good reduction. Custard tart to finish was excellent, the jam roly poly less so. But the plates were cleaned. Go support these fine students. Good wine list and price to although we stuck to soft drinks. £16 for three courses is an utter bargain in these or any times.

Another fabulous offering tonight at Escoffier. Really couldn't fault any of the courses the food but worth a real shout out for the lamb dish which was beautiful ( more black garlic sauce please ( beautifully silky smooth and rich!) .

Very professional and food was amazing

Visited the restaurant today and was well impressed food quality and presentation excellent, Students all very polite and helpful. I was in training the very same at a catering college in the 60's so know how the Students feel a few things have change over the years we had full silver service and dickie bow ties but the biggest difference was the price it was 2/6d or 12.5 new pence today, well done and keep it up.

Fantastic food experience. I had meat options and everything was cooked and presented amazingly. Certainly better than I've ever tasted. 7 courses, all are tasters. Great place to go and experience fine dining for good price.

Not as good as usual. (Nouveaux cuisine)Ran out of soup which would have been nice on a cold day.Main meal tasty but could have done with some bright vegetables to compliment it & make it more filling.Enjoyed the unusual fancy bread.Servers polite but lacked knowledge about the menu......When you buy à bottle of wine you cant take it home so drink up !!!! (that needs explaining when you order a whole bottle!)

Went with four friends on a Wednesday night, Service was good and the food was very good, considering both are done by students. The disappointment was that the room was freezing cold and when mentioned to the supervisor got a curt reply blaming the economic situation.NOT the reply I expected or wanted !!

Xmas meal was absolutely tasty thoughtfully designed, had all components one would expect. Served with aplomb and skill. Very nice experience 👌

Four of us visited the restaurant today for Christmas lunch and what a bonus it proved at this time of the year. Our waitress (Caitlin), training to be cabin crew, was lovely and the gentleman in charge of operations in the restaurant very good too. The meal, at £20 for four courses including coffee and petit fours, was exceptionally good value and the food really delicious - hats off to the chef. Thank you everyone involved

First time at this restaurant. Definitely recommend but consider that this is a collage restaurant used to train and provide real experience to the students.

Wonderful meal. Stumbled across the restaurant while looking fur somewhere different to eat in Bournemouth. Wish we’d known about this previously as we’d have definitely gone on other visits to the town. The catering students are certainly been taught well.

Under the watchful eye of lecturers, students both cook and serve some fine dining food. Full silver service and amazing food at a superb price.

We thoroughly enjoyed the exquisite Nordic menu at The Escoffier. The quality of the ingredients, choice of courses and presentation were superb. The food was first class. The fish, venison, duck and accompaniments were prepared to perfection and the taste was beautiful. We loved the smoked curds. The sorbet, assiette of desserts and the petit fours were luxuriant. The combination of tastes, textures and quality of ingredients was a joy. The food was of the very highest quality. The service was impeccable. Zoe and Amy served our table and were the most delightful students. They were so professional, courteous and so well-informed.

This is a collage restaurant where all the staff are training. The result of that is very attentive stuff who at times haven't got a clue what they are doing but are trying really hard and are lovely. This makes for a truly delightful atmosphere. The food is also at an incredibly discounted rate. I have a two course buffet meal every the food was easily worth £20 and paid only £10. Booking in advance is essential.

Visiting Bournemouth for 5 days, looked at Tripadvisor reviews and booked immediately. They did not disappoint. We had the 7 course taster menu which was delicious. Excellent value for money, attentive, knowledgeable servers and special thanks to Hayden and Sophie for their passion and looking after us so well. Our whole experience was 10/10.

Was disappointing . Have been there quite a few times and mostly it's been very nice. On this occasion sadly not. The service was poor and very unorganised. and the food not up to its normal quality.

Good tasting menu--apart from the sole course. Bones both large & small were still in the fillet. The embarrased waiter came back with a message from the chef ( I quote ) Fish is meant to be served with bones in and its your job to do it yourself.

The food is excellent and the students do a superb job in the restaurant. Great value.

Absolutely excellent restaurant by the college trainees. The food was superb and where else can you enjoy three beautiful lunch-time courses for just £14.50 per head. The restaurant itself is very nicely and spaciously laid out in the grounds of the college and was scrupulously clean. Service by the students was also excellent. We have already made two further return bookings.

Went on Tueday (8th March) with my wife. Really good food. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. You should try this for yourselves.

Great day out food a bit pricey

It’s difficult to fault this restaurant once you take on board that it’s staffed by catering students training at the college. The silver service is pretty good - the waiters had all of 7 weeks training and I was impressed. The food is interesting and varied with good choices on the menu. The food was impressively well cooked and presented. A quality three course lunch for less than £15 cooked and served by enthusiastic young potential catering stars of the future. Great!

The luncheon menu is excellent value for money. Food is beautiful presented with a varied menu. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Our group of 30 diners were treated to an interesting & delicious menu served by lovely young ladies who are training to become air hostesses. The whole event was well handled by Ingrid the College Restaurant Manager in a very professional manner, with the modest luncheon cost making it the best buy in Bournemouth. Any special dietary requirements (diabetic/gluten intollerant etc.) can be accommodated if advised in advance supported by a good selection of wines or soft drinks.We are having another event on 12th February which is again full, with demandout stripping availability

Had a three course lunch today found all food well presented and tasty, being a high qualified head chef most of my career.But a little more rice with the lamb and perhaps asparagus tips would of made the dish 💯. Well done.

Tuvimos la suerte de ir con amigos a la "Noche de menú de prueba de 7 cursos" y fue una experiencia brillante. Los estudiantes prepararon la comida más maravillosa y la calidad del servicio de otros estudiantes fue excelente. Fue una relación calidad-precio increíble y no dudaríamos en recomendarlo altamente.

De hecho, estamos satisfechos con el servicio y la comida ofrecidos por los estudiantes, de ahí una nueva visita. El supervisor estuvo feliz de recibir nuestros comentarios. Por lo general, se nos da un formulario para completar, pero esta vez no fue así. Nuestra experiencia general fue buena. Mi único comentario esta vez fue que la iluminación era bastante tenue, lo que hizo que el ambiente fuera un poco aburrido. Un luminoso comedor siempre es refrescante. Espero que iluminen el lugar. Mi esposa ha reservado un almuerzo de Navidad con un grupo de sus amigos.

We attended a family members birthday celebration. The wait for food was a little long but worth the wait.

Mi primera visita Me uní a un grupo grande para un almuerzo de temporada aquí hoy. Excelente comida, comencé con sopa de berros; Un sutil sabor a pimienta que voy a. . 'tratar'. . Emular en casa. Piensa: ¿alguien ha creado 'pimiento de berro'? Seguí esto con el curso de Navidad de temporada y el pudín. El pavo estaba húmedo y tierno, las verduras deliciosas y bellamente presentadas con zanahorias como delicadas decoraciones navideñas. La salsa de arándanos es maravillosamente ácida, lo que creo que debería ser, pero nunca lo es, para los frascos perezosos, los compradores como yo. Un bonito pudín de Navidad acompañado de una ramita de. . era bayas de enebro? . Toda la comida colorida, más bien, y más. Servicio, eficiente y discreto con sonrisas. Pero antes de firmar tengo que decir que a pesar de haber dejado mis audífonos en casa, encontré la conversación brillante, y eso con una pérdida de audición del 50%. gracias

Este restaurante universitario encabeza cualquiera que haya visitado en el área de Bournemouth. Es un valor increíble y, en mi opinión, incluso ha superado a Chewton Glen por su experiencia culinaria. He visitado el restaurante muchas veces, con un amigo, con grupos y familia, y nunca me ha decepcionado. Si pone su nombre en su lista de correo, puede ser notificado de cancelaciones de última hora y obtener una cena de 4 a 5 platos por aproximadamente 15! Hacen diferentes temas / cocinas desde británicos hasta orientales, todos sobresalientes. Es imprescindible reservar y el restaurante solo abre en plazo.

Estoy muy familiarizado con los restaurantes de Westminster Kingsway College y siempre estoy impresionado con los estándares alcanzados. Tengo que decir que la comida de la noche anterior que había organizado entre dos de mis clientes fue excelente: la comida, el servicio y el nivel profesional de la parte delantera y trasera de la casa. Si no conoce el restaurante, es el aspecto público de uno de los mejores colegios de catering del mundo y debe ir allí para probar la tarifa. Cinco estrellas todo el año.

Llegó a un delicioso olor que emanaba de las cocinas. El comedor estaba bien decorado y los estudiantes nos dieron una cálida bienvenida. Nuestra mesa estaba bien puesta y el servicio impecable. Nuestra cena de cuatro platos pre ordenada era muy buena, bien presentada y sabrosa. Uno de nuestro Partido tuvo que cambiar de orden ya que ella no había sido consciente de un huevo en el plato, otra opción fue rápidamente sustituida por la cocina. Los vinos complementaron la comida y todo fluyó sin problemas. El personal era encantador, impecable y muy trabajador. Definitivamente regresaremos.

Un viaje de un día a la costa se convirtió en una experiencia memorable, no solo debido al clima fantástico, sino también, lo que es más importante, gracias a una excelente cena que disfrutamos los dos. La comida servida era de un estándar muy alto y muy bien presentada. Además, se desarrolló de manera que nos permitiera apreciar cada curso de una manera tranquila. Los estudiantes fueron atentos pero no intrusivos y nos impresionó tanto la calidad de la noche que reservamos tres visitas adicionales para la cena allí y luego, durante un período del año académico. ¡Muchas gracias a todos y esperamos nuestra próxima visita!

Well done to Bournemouth & Poole College for this amazing place. Love it that I managed to book both lunch and dinner here in the same month. What incredible value for money and absolutely delicious food. Obviously, many of the trainees are young and inexperienced and nervous at times whilst serving - but incredible for them to practise their craft in a very safe environment. My dinner was the 8 course taster menu for my husband's birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and I cannot wait for you to open again in the new Autumn term to bring all my Bournemouth friends along to experience what they may have been missing for years. Esta fue mi primera visita al restaurante college, pero definitivamente no la última. La comida era excelente, con mucha variedad y el servicio de los estudiantes fue muy agradable y amable. Y la relación calidad-precio era genial. Me voy de nuevo el próximo mes para probar la cena!

8 de nosotros fuimos y era mi primera vez. Si no ya sabes que es un colegio para chefs y la industria de servicio y que están aprendiendo su comercio en su propio restaurante. La comida está muy bien de precio de £9. 95 por 2 campos. Parecía un lugar muy popular. Nos sirvieron agua y pan recién horneado. La comida fue absolutamente deliciosa y el servicio fue excelente. Nos aseguraremos de hecho Escoffier. Puedo ver por qué mi esposa y sus amigos siguen volviendo.

We revisited, this time with a party of 14. We usually enjoy the food on offer unfortunately this time we were not happy. The theme was Asian cuisine. The beef was tough, the Chicken too salty.Duck was average. The sorbet was the best. Service as usual was pleasant,polite,helpful and fairly quick.

El Tandoori Hale era excelente, con todos los sabores mezclados, también me encantó el Sorbete de té verde! Ojalá más restaurantes podíamos conseguir como Escoffiers

We are a group of friends who have eaten at Escoffier before on a number of occasions at lunchtime. It is a great place to eat, the menu has a good choice of starters, main and desserts all served by the catering college students. The food is a very good standard and very nicely presented. Service is very good too. Great place for groups and the price is very reasonable. Recommend booking as it is very popular.

The Escoffier is just a superb place to have a meal that is as delicious as any restaurant in Bournemouth but does not cost an arm and a leg !

Not sure how I didn't know about this restaurant. We went on a wet, cold evening and was very surprised about the standard of food. Good choice of menu and very reasonably priced. Service was very good. Food was very good and nicely presented. Definitely a place to return to.

Went with a group of ten friends and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being served by polite, efficient and charming young people. The kitchen staff obviously were very busy and produced an excellent meal. Augers well for the future when such super young people are putting so much into their education and work settings. We were not rushed at lunchtime so were able to enjoy our friendship without any pressure to eat up and leave!

En general los estudiantes estaban muy eficiente y tratando, educado y servicial. La comida bien presentada. Por desgracia me pareció la pasta seca y dura, y las espinacas congeladas de brickets era en lo que podría haber sido mejor preparados. El postre era delicioso. Fue el último día de plazo. Nos pidió para dar una opinión que espero sea beneficioso. A menudo se nos visita.

Found this college restaurant on TA and thought we'd give it a try. Just one sitting in the evening at 7-00. We weren't sure really what to expect particularly in terms of the venue - but it was absolutely fine - basically the student bar decked out in restaurant style. All the servers were most able - interesting to note the tutor always in the background keeping an eye on things. Food first class - think masterchef rather than college fare. Good wine list - excellent couple of bottles of Malbec consumed by our party of 4.

We love this restaurant for lunch. Excellent food cooked & served by the students. Lunch is a great deal especially when you can buy bread fresh from the pastry department after the meal

My wife, son and I visited this restaurant one evening in February for the best of British tester menu. We were served 9 separate small courses and each one was delicious, beautifully cooked and with stunning presentation. I cannot wait to return to what is possibly the best restaurant in Bournemouth.

Both of our meals were quite exceptional especially for the price we paid.My husbands seafood platter looked and tasted delicious. I love my vegetarian optionsand I was not disappointed.Both main courses were well presented, piping hot and a joy to savor every mouthful.The herb crusted salmon with carefully selected accompaniments was delicious.Desserts hit the spot, great contrast of sweet and tart, warm and cold. Brilliant atmosphere. Friendly staff. Today we had one of our best meals ever at Escoffier.Thank you to everyone for such an enjoyable lunch.

Considering this is a restaurant within Poole and Bournemouth College, where students are training, this does not distract from the overall experience. The staff were well versed about the menu, service was efficient and the food excellent. At £8.95 for two courses or £10.95 for 3 courses this is very good value.

We recently made our fourth Tuesday visit during this academic year, and were pleased to see how the students have progressed over the months. The lunch menu was varied and the dishes that we selected were extremely good - well presented, tasty and hot! The service at table was at a good pace, with the students all practising and showing off their skills, which on this occasion included serving flambéed desserts. Always a pleasure to eat here - standards are very high, especially when you remember this is a training restaurant!

Escoffier was recommended by friends, so we took 2 of ours for lunch, which also happened to be one of their birthdays. I certainly would NOT call it average, and for £10.95 for 3 courses it was amazing value. The presentation was perfect, the standard of cooking also very high. The young staff were friendly and helpful, and the restaurant nicely decorated. The wine list was good and also excellent value. Our friend's pudding plate was skillfully decorated and signed in chocolate sauce with "Happy Birthday", which was an unexpected and lovely touch. We will certainly be returning.

A group of us visited yesterday for lunch, choice of two or three courses, we chose the three courses which are charged at £10.95 inc VAT, a cafetière of coffee or a pot of tea is an extra £2.45. The food was well cooked and nicely presented. This is a restaurant at Bournemouth & Poole college where students are studying the whole range of Hotel work from cooking, waiting, management etc. This explains why the rates are so cheap as they are subsidised. This did not detract from the experience which was very good. If you have food issues/intolerances please contact the staff as we did and Ingrid was very good at producing ideas and a menu for my wife. No parking is available on site but the surrounding roads are metered spaces and midweek we found a couple of places without any trouble. Would we do it again? Yes, great food and a great price with a good experience for the students, win win all around.
