Seems to be when they are busy they send there driver with 2 or 3 deliveries my chips were raw weren’t cooked and they said it’s just the bag they put them in surely you take that into consideration with the bag your putting them in when delivering so they aren’t like that and my rice and curry sauce was cold when I phone All they said was I’ll give you a credit won’t be back

Thought I had the best in glenrothes but this Chinese beats that, tasty and great value for money

Best Chinese in West Fife, always get a delivery and it comes very quickly, staff are always very pleasant on the phone.

Been my favourite Chinese for 31 years. Fantastic staff, fantastic scran, generous portions. One of the best parts of coming home to visit.

Food tastes fresh and home made. Tasty not at all greasy Sauces were not too artificial tasting Peking ribs had a lovely kick to the sauce and tender meat

Chinese takeaway was cooked in double quick time. Food was good and like most Chinese takeaways they put a slight twist on some of the less common dishes with their Empress specials. I will be back.

Always had a good experience here. Food is to a good level. Staff / owner is super friendly and attentive. Deliveries in the past have always been quick and the food still hot. One of the better places in Dunfermline.

Used to be my go to for Chinese food but last couple of times the noodles have been extremely greasy, and the salt and pepper chicken extremely greasy and salty. Won't be back, such a shame

I can only describe this dish as looking like slug gloup and their was nothing crispy looking about it. I didn't even venture to taste it but my partner did and he spat it straight back out. It's honestly the worst thing we have ever ordered and looks nothing like crispy shredded beef. Friends, family and work always order from here but his will be my last. If you've ever ordered this dish elsewhere you will know this is not how it should look, pictures actually make it look better than what it was.

we ordered a mild chicken curry with boiled rice and a beef and tomato with fried rice both were excellent we went into Dunfermline from torryburn to get it as the chinese round here are not in the same class as empress bravo we will definitely be ordering from empress from now on

Food arrived piping hot and very tasty. Best Chinese in Dunfermline by far, we won’t order from anywhere else. Expect to wait awhile for delivery at the weekend due to how busy this wee gem of a takeaway is. Well worth the wait.

Been going to this local takeaway for the past 10 years and the quality of the food is still very good. However their customer service is not great. You place an order and told it will take 15 mins, however you go and collect it 15 mins later and you wait a further 15 mins. To add insult to injury people walk in off the street place an order and leave the shop before you. One particular rude member of staff.😔👎

Vast menu however twice the order has been wrong and food is sometimes too greasy. Tried many dishes and the flavours are good

Great selection good value for money

I've been using the empress for years now and they have a good selection on their menu and the food is always great.

This is the only Chinese take away place I would use, friendly staff, great food and I feel valued as a customer everytime I walk through the door.

The best Chinese takeaway in Dunfermline, a real class act.

We decided to try a new Chinese take away and made the huge mistake of trying the Empress. I phoned in our order, was told it would take half an hour, so i arrived 30 minutes later, told the chap behind the counter (who was Scottish) that I had telephoned my order and gave him my name. I sat and waited, watched people coming in after me getting served with food to take away. Eventually I asked (after half an hour) if my order would ever be ready. It turns out it had been sitting behind the counter all the time! I got no apology, no offer of any sort ot make up for having spent half an hour needlessly sitting there. Now the food. The sweet and sour had a strong vinegar flavour, the black bean sauce was overly thick, the mixed combo starter was dried out a bit, prawn toast well past its best - perhaps because it had sat for over 30 minutes. We will not be returning. Oh yes, and as far as value for money goes, around 45% more expensive for a much poorer experience from the place we WILL be going back to.

The quality of the food here has rapidly gone downhill. On our last visit we gave them the benefit of the doubt, but after tonight we won't be returning. I always have the same dish - squid with garlic and spice. The batter was soggy and the squid chewy and I think it had been pre-cooked then reheated. My husband struggled with his chow mein and only ate it because he was hungry. We even went in to order and expected it to be freshly cooked. Not impressed and won't be back.

I really wish an inspector would check this place could lick tastier off the ground, reception was appalling was answered with basically wat you want!!! And their food tasted the same very poor

1.5 hrs for delivery. The food was rubbish the service is rubbish and the quantity portion size is not enough to feed a mouse. Like the last 3 bad reviews on here dont go here utterly dreadful. Go to a different chinese as this is the worst one in Dunfermline.

Shocking service, food adequate. However unable to ever order as card machine constantly down. Delivery at least 1.5 hours. Small on portions and customer service is could not be worse. No care in regard to food quality nor when trying to order

Absolutely terrible, very large order with many components missing, I think they ordered a chicken nugget from mcdonalds and divided it between 6 of us, chicken was more like a 1966 goodyear tyre than chicken, perhaps it was fed on rubber, portions were so disappointing I nearly launched mine at the shop from 3 miles away, the bits I did eat took literally 4 forkfulls to finish, I will request my colleagues to never suggest this place again under penalty of death.... Well a serious pish ripping anyway. Never tried this place before and I'm starting to wonder if there is indeed a God who has tried his best to keep me away for a good reason, mission fail .

Called the Empress for a change rather than our usual Chinese. After calling I had to wait for 1hr20mins for my food and was told at the hour that my food was on its way to me. When food arrived the chips were just warm and soggy, curry sauce bearly warm too. Can’t see me getting a delivery from this chinese anytime soon. Should have stuck with my usual place.

Ordered by phone and delivered to house . 3 adults and two children . Everyone enjoyed the meal . Tasty food reasonably priced and delivered quickly. Have used The Empress on many occasions and will continue to do so .

Fantastic food, great portions at unbelievable prices. The girl serving was a gem and even with it being busy managed to get the food out quickly.

This busy takeaway was recommended by a relative and it was certainly busy when we visited on a Saturday evening. From customer conversations there was no doubt they had numerous regular customers who ordered in advance and picked up their orders. The staff were however great, well organised when taking orders by phone or at the counter and there were a number of personnel cooking and preparing orders. The only negative was our pudding - banana fritters. Stodgy and dry - one container had no syrup whilst the other had very little. We put this down to an oversight as the mains were great, good value and very tasty. The rating would have been excellent had we only been rating the main courses.

Always go to the Empress, I always recommend the Empress - no other is better :) Will not go anywhere else.

Although the food isn’t too bad the customer service, girl on the phone is very rude ! If you’re hungry don’t get a delivery it’s can take up to 2hours with no apology

Tasty food with free spring rolls and prawn crackers Reasonably priced, pleasant helpful person on phone.

We have been going to another chinese restaurant in town but my husband’s colleague mentioned this restaurant to us and we decided to give it a try. The walk in was ok but the delivery and the customer service over the phone is by far the worst i’ve ever had in Scotland. The delivery time usually takes OVER an hour (beyond the one hour window they promise). The lady who answers the phone is VERY VERY rude (I couldnt reiterate this enough). She doesnt tell you how much your order is unless you ask. When you call to follow up on order because it’s more than an hour she doesnt even apologise, in fact she’s very argumentative. We ordered here the day we got out of the hospital after having a baby for convenience and the chinese delivery guy took almost 2 hours to bring the food. He phoned to ask for directions and we were clear and even waited at the end of the street so he could see us, he’s passed us about 4 times before he realised it’s us. The last straw was yesterday when we called back 5 mins after phoning to add an order. The rude lady said minimum for card payment is £8 so I asked how much is the additional order and she said £2.20 for the chicken noodle soup so I said “that’s fine i’ll just leave the cash in the house for that then” and when the order arrived there wasnt any soup so we called them. The lady said “she said to leave it” referring to the conversation i had with her and my husband told her that’s not what i said as he was beside me when i was on the phone to them and the rude lady just said “and my boss was beside me as well” as if i’m on a freakin speaker phone for the boss to hear what was said? So my husband said “we wont be using you again” and the lady just said “goodbye”. I guess they have enough business going on so they can afford to lose some customers. Defo no customer service in this place. I wish i seen the reviews about this place before we used them as apparently, the lady’s rudeness is quite known to other customers. Management needs to sort this out. We wont be using them again anyway. Hope other customers dont get treated like this.

Algunos de mis favoritos son lonchas de pollo en salsa de ajo y chili, pollo en salsa de chili dulce, Pollo mongol y el pollo y el maíz es fabuloso!

Hemos usado la emperatriz en los últimos 3 años y nunca me han dejado decepcionado! La comida siempre es caliente y fresco y cuando nos pedían que llega a la escala de tiempo dado! Es la mejor comida china que he tenido en el pueblo y no me vuelva a cambiar de proveedor.

Considering how many there are in the town, we weren't sure what to expect.Firstly they can cook rice. Sounds obvious, but some don't seem capable of this.Chicken in black bean and green peppers were good and liked the salt and pepper chips. Got some free prawn crackers too.

There are 3 chinese restaurants within 2 mins of each other and I was told in 2 pubs this was the best but I can't compare ,but I ordered special chow mien and it was lovely , would rank them in the top 10 and been to a lot of takeaways !!! Full of meat , prawns etc , only thing I would advise is that they are very thin noodles ( which I love ) so I u fancy wide egg noodles then Lee gardens might be better

Decent food. The Singapore Rice Noodles were pretty tasty, with recognisable vegetables (always a good start!), though I found it had more spice than flavour. The "Chinese spring rolls" were tasty, but very oily, and hubby found his Mongolian Beef and chips "alright". Average Chinese takeaway, I thought... OK, but could be better.

I choose this takeaway even though there is a very popular one much closer to where we live. Can't comment on delivery as we always pick up ourselves. Food is always good, especially beef curry which is much better from here than other takeaways in the area.

food is average, but reasonable value. takeaway food not a great choice of menu but does what I need after work. it's easy to park and collect food, they also deliver at reasonable cost.

I have been here several times and the food is always good and is reasonably priced. Try the chicken satay starter and the mixed curry (medium) fried rice. Parking can be an issue sometimes, that said they do deliver.

Ordered from here on a Saturday night, asked for a delivery was told will be about 20 mins. Phone back after an hour as no sign of food to be told that they thought it was a pick up. Fast forward an hour to finally get food which was missing some vital sauce for the sweet and sour pork. A further 30 min wait for that to be sent round. Top effort. Had the cheek to take full payment off me too. I've used the empress a few times and the food has always been good. Service on our last order has been shocking, no apology or a wee discount offered like no delivery charge or something. Nothing. Nada.

Lovely food, having tried a few Chinese in Dunfermline I always go back to this one, good service and great food.

My daughter always preferred it here when she was still at school, so we kept going and she still likes her Empress carry out even though she's away from home now. The food never disappoints, the staff are efficient and you never wait long.

After a couple off months of throwing tasteless, dried up, cold Chinese takeaway food from local takeaways in the bin, someone from work recommended this takeaway. Had a meal delivered tonight, arrived within the hour, hot, fresh and very tasty. This is my new takeaway from now on. Thanks Empress.

I love the food from this takeaway and the service, I use it regularly and I'm always happy with our food. We have asked for food with and without sauce added for my daughter and the staff are always happy to give us what we want. What's really good is that they know my name, they are friendly, polite and courteous and can never do enough for you. Thanks

Tried this place last week, food was hot, tasty and prob the best Chinese food in Dunfermline. I would definitely go back, salt and spicy chicken wings are lovely and the curry is just right. If u want good Chinese food and decent portions this is the best takeaway in Dunfermline

We've used The Empress, or The New Empress or any other Empress that this has been called for many years! Of late the food has become salty, or glutenous in the case of soups. We'll be trying other options from now on, I had to drink a gallon of water just to quench my thirst this week due to the amount of salt used in the food! I travel all over the UK and Chinese is always my preferred sit in or take-away so I should be a pretty good judge, Dunfermline lacks a top quality Chinese and this has always been the best of a very mediocre bunch, but not any more in this reviewers mind. One good point, the delivery driver is always very pleasant…but shame about the food!

Fairly priced, Great service and exceptional food. If you are to visit this establishment, try their spicy chips, I love them!

We always get the food delivered, on occasion it's been slow if it's a particularly busy time, however the food is always good.

I order here at least once a fortnight. Service is good, prices very reasonable and the food is tremendous. The five spice chicken should be tried along with the salt and spicy chips.

We order from The Empress mostly when having chinese - tried a few others and do not compare! It does awesome singapore noodles and shredded chilli chicken.One thing they dont do well - duck!

The Empress has been our take away of choice for years, not because it's particularly good but because there really isn't a better option locally and trust me we've tried them all! What I find extremely annoying is the lack of honesty, we regularly place orders for delivery and are told that "it will be 45 minutes" which we know is just a big fat lie! More often than not we have to call after 1-1.5 hours to find out where our food is and guess what ….it's always "just left now". Even the delivery drivers have told us that the lack of honesty is embarrassing for them as they have to take the flack from customers. Is it too much to ask…..just tell us it will take 2 hours if that's the case.

We were feeling lazy so ordered a carry out for delivery. Be aware, the standard response is 'delivery in 45 minutes'. Don't let that put you off however as the food is delivered hot and isof a very good quality. I would recommend that you give it a go.

Best Chinese in Dunfermline without a doubt. Curry sauce is just right for spice. Chicken chow Mein lovely. Just a great wee take away
