I’ve been going to Ming Sang for years. They are always really efficient with my order and ready to collect in 15 mins. The food is always hot and taste is excellent. Only improvement I could suggest is to accept card payment, but ATM on route so not a big issue.

It's been a long time since I had a takeaway and due to this experience it will be a long time before I do so again. I ordered sweet and sour chicken with fried rice - the sauce was just red, that's all you could say about it - no flavour at all. I needed a drill to cut through the batter on the chicken balls and the chicken was brick hard. Fortunately the fried rice was ok. On the whole a bitter disappointment. Wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Chap at desk polite but food was awful. Re heated rice chewy chicken balls and special curry was tasteless. Very disappointed. It went in the bin. I like to support local businesses and take no pleasure leaving this review.

A wee old fashioned Gem of a place, that has been a staple of Kirkcaldy for years and years- kitchens are open planned so you can see them cooking. They accept only cash, which should not be a strange concept but sadly is. Polite young lad serving at counter. Delicious egg foo young.

Unfortunately I can’t rate it zero, will give it a 1 star and that’s being generous. Ordered spring rolls and got something that resembled a big greasy t**d, let’s just say there wasn’t much spring in the spring rolls! Chicken curry was congealed and bland. Still feeling nauseous thinking about it 🤢

I’ve never seen a curry like the one I had last night. The chicken and peas in bottom of foil container with gungy thick sauce on top. Chicken was pure white so had never seen a pan!!! Rice - fried, well it was sticking together either too much soya sauce or had stuck to the pan, no egg in it. Very very poor WILL NOT BE BACK

Me and my mrs went for a takeaway, Happy Days was closed and we didn’t want to risk Dysart with the conditions of storm Emma! Ordered a chicken curry and a beef curry, when I got home and opened the chicken curry it looked like plasticine it looked terrible but I dipped my spoon and it smelt singed/burnt and was very thick horrible looking and tasted worse! The egg fried rice stunk as well but bravely ate some of it after spending nearly £30 on our order!!! Strongly recommend giving this a miss I’ve never seen or tried Chinese food like it! Only gave it a rating off 1 as I had to but it was really that bad!

Ok so we all like the odd takeaway now and again. Sadly there a right way and a wrong way. Order was pretty straight forward consisting of chicken fried rice. An order that consist of paying £5.80. When told it would be £6.50 was quiet shocked. Explained to girl with menu that cost was £5.80 so was sure she made a mistake. I was rudedly and aggressively replied 'No I am going to put it in a bag for you and give you a fork.' GIVE is when you offer something free of charge with kindness in your heart. NOT charge the customer for something they never asked for and had no desire for. Above all I walked out. A customer will always be a customer. I just don't recommend you be there customer as OK Chinese is a far better takeaway who know how to handle customers. (and there money more effectively). Scott Rolland

If you like volume and good pricing but don't mind the quality of the food this is the place to go. I do not usually believe in writing poor reviews as I would rather complain in person if there is a problem however, this experience was so bad that I just had to share it:No 64 Char Sui pork with bean sprouts - a few pieces of pork overwhelmed by a slimy sauce and huge quantities of bean sprouts - hideous to eat and visually.Served with soft noodles - dried out and old tasting - vile.Binned! 24 Chicken with spring onions and ginger - hunt the ginger, too sweet and not pleasing to the eye either84 sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style - in fairness, almost edible but I have never seen such a vivid red and you don't usually find a sweet and sour bulked out with mushrooms.Fried rice - heavy handed on the soy sauce and did not taste freshly made.A complete waste of money. It is well seen that the statement "This shop has received the "award of distinction for excellence" by the Guild of Restaurateurs" on the menu was for the year 08/09 and not 2015. I have made a mental note never ever to go to a restaurant or takeaway recommended by them!

Now the Ming Sang has a special place in my family's history as for over 20 years my mum and dad have being using the place since it used to be called the Pollygram. They used to have a flat nearby and when they moved to the other side of town for a bigger house when me and my big sister came along, we still went as it was simply the best Chinese takeaway in Kirkcaldy. We used to love the special curry and fried rice so much, we used to have it for Xmas dinner so my mum didn't have to cook all day and we could all enjoy our favourite takeway. The special curry used to sting your mouth, and you would be ultra full with a half portion as it was stuffed with King prawns, beef, chicken, peas, mushrooms and onions with their amazing fried rice. Prawn crackers were a delicacy of their own.Now if you read the above passage you will find a phrase that is used a lot........USED TO.....that is becuase for me the place has went really downhill. I don't know if it is the credit crunch or if they are that busy they don't mind losing loyal customers but I don't go there anymore because the last few vists have nearly made me go back for a refund. This only happened in the last few years, but one night I was working late and some of my co-workers who weren't from Kirkcaly asked me for a recommendation for a good local Chinese. I recommended the Ming Sang and also my personal fav, the special curry and fried rice. Let's just say I was embarrassed at what arrived. The special curry comprised of processed chicken chunks, stringy cheap beef and loads of peas and onions. There was only one small King prawn in the entire tub. The other stuff was of a similar state with the prawn crackers tasting like cuts of polystyrene. Now I put this as maybe a bad night but with similar visits with my girlfriend and also with friends and family, it only confirmed that the place is no longer what it used to be. With the cheap meat (or lack of) and sightings of prawns being rare in their special curry, tired menu, manky shop front, staff with gruff demeanor and in look of a good wash. Also I wonder if they think is appetising having the chips piled up next to the counter where anyone can cough or sneeze on them and having mountains of prawn crackers in large tubs stuffed anywhere there is a space, underneath the counter, onto of the ancient fridge, under the sink etc. but it kinda puts me in the mood to try somewhere else........and I did, just down the road at the east end of Kirkcaldy high street, next to the Harbour bar, sits the Lucky Star. The most friendly, clean, ultra fast, value for money Chinese in Kirkcaldy with simply amazing food. Their chow mein is to die for, as is their peking style ribs, stuffed crab claws, smoked balck pepper chicken strips and special curry with fresh chicken breast, soft beef, large prawns and even squid......although the fried rice is still better at Ming Sang. Also their prawn crackers are nice a crispy and fresh unlike the polystyrene discs up the road.So overall, if you have a car, and don't mind the extra 5 min drive, head to the Lucky Star, which serves up the best Chinese food in Kirkcaldy bar none!!! never a bad trip yet!

Sadly the food has gone downhill. Used to be an excellent Chinese take away but lately the quality has been lacking. Tonight was the worst though. Ordered 2 x chicken fried rice, chips, mushroom and onion fried rice, barbecue ribs and a portion of curry sauce. The order came with curry sauce all over the chips which thankfully they did correct and give us them separate albeit with a look of disgust as if we were in the wrong. The mushroom and onion fried rice though ended up inedible due to the onions being covered in a curry dressing which the person who this was for is allergic to one of the ingredients in the curry. Luckily because it was noticed before a mouthful was taken, some antihistamine has been able to quell the reaction but it could have been worse. We won’t be coming back as there is a distinct lack of care and for us this could be dangerous.
