Best chip shop around. Very good staff food is always fresh, and the haddock is some of the best I have ever had. The consistency of the quality is the key, and they deliver this every single time we go. Also, being able to pre-order and click and collect saves any queuing.

Fish and chips twice, to take away £27.80 Now I no things have gone up but what a price, we usually go to a different chip shop ( normally £18. For the same )but had been told how nice this one was, food was nothing special, fish was normal size again nothing special and the few chips you got with all the scraggy bits weren't really worth having, absolute disgusted to be honest, never again

£10.50, the price has gone up again.Average size cod which was ok but the chips were floppy, soft and inedible - I threw them away. They have also started using smaller trays for the chips which makes it look as if you have a good portion.

Tonight's visit to Ruskington sleaford took us to the local chippy which turned out to be a really pleasant experience. Same pricing as most chip shops but portions a little less than most. Apart from that 5 star all round.

Stopped in for lunch on a Tuesday. It was the freshest fish and chips I have eaten in a very long time, served in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere with attentive staff. If you’re ever in Ruskington, do yourself a favour and come here.

Walked into a lovely atmosphere, the staff were very friendly, ordered haddock,chips and peas, I must say it was absolutely delicious until I found the hair on my plate,not one but two black hairs.,I couldn't eat the rest of my meal.When they came to take away our dishes,I politely showed them my find and got a half hearted apology, paid £33 for this, on the way out ,there was four members of staff behind the the fryers none of them wearing hair nets. So I was quite disappointed 😞

Return visit here whilst working in the area, 1st class food, best fish and chips I have had since the last time I visited here. Will definitely visit again.

Batter a little soggy on the fish. For me the meal was let down by cheap Tomato sauce, Tartar sauce and cheap margarine on the bread, weak tea which I am guessing we're from cheap tea bags. Poor quality condiments ruin a good meal, butter should be available even if its an extra cost. I have always felt the Elite establishments gave a good dining experience which deserved the amount charged, I didn't feel this today. For the cost of eating out, it needs to be right and feel worthy. I always use the Elite as I like the sustainability and information on the products used, although didn't see this information today. Just felt lacking. In reply to owner, I did ask for butter and was told it wasn't an option, wasn't offered Heinz either. As a Yorkshire Lass who loves her Yorkshire Tea, I can't believe it was Yorkshire tea in the pot on this day, it was weak. 😊. Also the information on the catch and potatoes wasn't on the board today. Thank you for your reply though.

50 miles from home with work called in with mate large haddock chips and curry x2 and drinks just over £30 not cheap but 1st class worth every penny. Highly recommended 👌

The fish is good but I find that the amount of chips you get in a ‘normal’ portion is starting to be less and less. A large portion wouldn’t do two for example. Queueing system is generally ok, make sure you order your fish when you get in.

Excellent food at the Ruskington location. Staff are always lovely and the restaurant is always clean. You honestly couldn't ask for more. Definitely worth a visit!

Only criticism is that we'd requested salt and vinegar on all the chips, but there wasn't any on any of the 4 portions. Won't stop me ordering again, though. Next time, I'll hopefully be able to add a note.

Only had a takeaway, but was beautifully cooked, well packaged in heat retaining cartons. Absolutely delicious and enjoyed by both of us.

My favourite chippie. Not cheap, but the quality of the fish and chips is outstanding. My only gripe is how expensive it is to eat in vs take out. You certainly don't get the same portion size eating in than you do if you take out.

We visited this shop for a takeaway meal which we have done many times. We were there at opening time and collected our usual order. My wife and daughter are vegetarian so they only have chips. The chips were obviously left over from the lunch time opening. Our total order came to £24.00 and I must say it was extremely below par. All the chips were disgusting.

First the GOOD fish was tasty and chips good with little grease upon them Overall Enjoyed the meal Now the BAD Attended ruskington fish restaurant at 1.05pm to be told the restaurant CLOSED at 1.pm . Who closes a lunch time restaurant at 1pm . Ah well company decision I expect. One person was served and I placed my order. 2 fish 1 small peas and 1 chips [2 of us now eating the take away] £18.00 Not arguing about the 20 p here or there. Too much though small chips were £3.00 At EXACTLY 10 past 1pm the lady [presumably manageress] shut the place All the open signs were changed to Closed. I asked the young lady serving me What time do you close? 1.30 was the reply. I showed her my watch at 1.10.pm No reply. One guy in the car park asked me if it was closed or not . He left. How many other potential customers are not being served here and how would Elite think about this constant lack of business/profits. Overall , my meal was satisfactory but slightly small and rather expensive. Would I go again NO Not sure when they will be open or closed.

Got take out standard cod & chips. Chips were tepid, Fish wasn't fresh and batter was on the slimy side underneath. For £9.80 I would expect better. Have had some here before & were ok but overpriced for what you get. This will be my last visit here.

Stopped for a bag of chip's. They wasn't cooked through still needed a bit longer. Only 1 Young girl on the til who didn't say hi or anything when I walked in. Used to get better sized portions when the older lady was one. For the price now and getting fewer.

We visited today to sit in with our fish and chips our last visit was not at all good, thankfully today's visit was back to high standards and our meal was totally delicious service perfect we were very pleased as we were not willing to write the place off as we like it so much. Nice village chippy with a good range and generous sized portions.

Not really busy but unclean tables, food usually nice but chips were warm n I had all small bits that usually a bottom of fryer I did not eat them but when collecting my plate no one asked if anything was wrong. Stood to pay at till n no one came went into otherwise where they were all talking n was told I could only pay at other till I did say I had been waiting there to pay but that fell on deaf ears aswell. Just a very overall poor experience at usually nice place.

Meal deal is good value and good quality

Poor chippy in my opinion, maybe it's because I dropped in there on a bad day. I bought 2 cod, 1 haddock and 3 chips in anticipation of a brilliant meal at place with the best reviews. However the chips were poor and the fish had crispy outer batter but thick sogginess under batter and dry haddock. At nearly £30 for food for three it stings a little.

Not impressed with fish, size of a goldfish! Wouldn't get away with that in Grimsby chippies, very poor value for money wouldn't go again

I used to come here with my mother when I was a little kid over 30 years ago, so it was rather nostalgic for me when I had a meal there today - and it was a good meal and I would come again.

On Saturday 2nd April 2022, my partner and I visited Elite in Ruskington for lunch. I found the whole experience wonderful. The food (I had poached Salmon, jacket Potato and a side salad) was superb, the staff were friendly and helpful and we will definitely return

We recently moved from Sleaford to Ruskington and tried to maintain our regular Saturday fish supper at the local fish and chip shop. We have given them a number of chances but are buying our supper in Sleaford in future. The fish at eclipse is slightly over cooked so crumbly but the big criticism is soggy batter!! Thought the first week we were just unlucky but the chips are slightly greasy too and they are always the same.

Ordered on line & easy to do. Food was ready on arrival. Haddock is particularly good & chips excellent. Well worth a visit.

Fish improved slightly but chip still insipid and tasteless. very dry. Undercooked hard with no colour to them. Very chewy and hard and inside lumpy which caused our elderly aunt to choke These chips need cooking much longer to be edible again. No one at the shop seems to care much about this matter which is shocking as one complaint is one to many

This is usually a great chippy but not tonight ( Wednesday)_ the worst chips I have ever had! Sort of fried on the outside but raw inside, Come on how difficult is it to fry some tates - very not pleased and it ruined the family's tea.

We like fish and chips as a regular treat and visited this branch of Elite when we first moved to Ruskington 2 months ago despite having visited a different branch previously and not been impressed. This time we were delighted. The batter on the fish was nice and thin and crisp and the fish itself was a generous fillet. Good chips too. In fact we only have one complaint. Lots of other people agree that this is a good chippy so there is always a queue!! The chip shop we favoured where we lived before started delivering due to the pandemic. This is about the only thing that could make Elite more perfect!!!

Excellent quality fish and chips. My wife never eats fish but this one time she did (as I love it) and enjoyed it. The glass of wine may have helped! Onion rings were truly excellent too. Overall, a little pricey (fish is expensive these days) but well worth it. We'll be back I'm sure, we're only down the road.

Simply a first class 'chippy! Nothing more to say.

So disappointed to review negatively, but I have held off reviewing for the last 7 visits in the hope they were all one-offs but clearly not. Decline in quality over the last 3 years resulting in very poor fish and chips now. Every time we've had our takeaway the fish ends up a sopping soggy mess by the time we get it home which is 30 seconds up the road. It's horrible, and half the soggy batter ends up stuck to the wrapping. We asked for it and the chips (which are usually rushed out the fryer before they are properly cooked) to be well done in the hope this improves things but it hasn't. I even asked one of the girls behind the counter once why it gets so soggy and she simply shrugged and said she doesn't know. In an attempt to keep it crispy I have to unwrap the fish in the car to leave it open, and when that usually doesn't work I end up re-frying it at home!! This is not OK for money spent on food. I think it's time to call it quits and find a new fish and chips in the village. Service is always lovely though which makes it more of a shame... But I'm not paying to eat the service!

Children's portions at best. Chips undercooked. Would advise Ruskington staff go for some training at The Moorland Centre on portion sizes!!

The best fish and chips that I had tasted for a long time

Very small portions. I find the older staff working there very rude, they come across ungrateful for your custom, and it seems like your presence there is an inconvenience for them, especially the old blonde lady. The younger staff are usually ok. I will not be returning, I would rather drive to sleaford where you are greeted with a smile and their portions are not like a kids meal.

Excellent food and service, social distancing well observed, highly recommend.

When yesterday for tea,had fish and chip twice and peas,notice that they had changed the menu board,and I believe the prices as well,now I know the they have been closed now because of covid 19,but surely,they shouldn't have put the prices up ! The peas pot was not filled top the top,not many chips in the portion. Why dont théy do what at CHIPMUNKS AT CONINGSBY a meal deal fish and chips and sides for 10 Pound ???

Food is good...freshly prepped Staff are friendly and human so dont expect robotic service😄 Do I go back? Regularly 😄😉

In my opinion The Elite serve the best fish and chips in Lincolnshire. Try it out you won't be disappointed.

I had takeaway and have often used this place and enjoyed it but this time I was not so pleased. I had chips and scampi and other had chips etc. The main problem was the chips, they were very poor quality and had a green appearance. The scampi wasn't the best but was edible.
