Absolutely fantastic pub lunch with some stand out courses, especially the charred lettuce salad and the merguez sausages. Great space, lovely staff and (we were in for the Euro final the previous night) great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Sehr nettes Essen und tolles Personal. Ein modernes, helles Pub mit tollem Ambiente. Wir waren an drei Tagen in Folge hier! 😉 Und wir kommen sicherlich bei unserem nächsten London Aufenthalt wieder!

Really nice place - more cafe/bar than pub but that was fine! Only (minor) gripe was that the still water brought to the table was charged for - it was nominal but think there should always be an option to have free tap water.

This was in a Top 10 Roasts Guide and I thought that I would give it a go. It is a lovely what I would call "quirkie" restaurant where nothing matches, but it works perfectly. The staff are brilliant and it does get really busy with many "walk ins" as well as the bookings but they never turned anyone away. Unfortunately the roast was not in my Top 10 Traditional Roasts (the pork was very nice) but I saw some of the other dishes being served and will happily visit again very soon.

We came on a Sunday for lunch (having been for mid week dinner a few times), the roast was very good quality and size, service was very good - definitely recommend

Visiting daughter who lives locally and wanted to try the Sunday roast. Between us we had the beef, lamb, pork and chicken and all were superb! Yorkshire puddings were amazing and the cauliflower cheese was delicious! All the staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough to make sure we had a lovely meal! Will be back again soon. Thank you!

Such a lovely place and the food was simply superb. Reasonably priced and so tasty. On top, a great range of beers. Jackson was a superb waiter and I’d highly recommend to anyone in the area.

Just what we were looking for, buzzy pub, simple setup, scrubbed tables, wholesome food - excellent pork chop! Stout/Guinness, lagers and wines. Place where you can chat to neighbours (friendly Canadians) and leave happy.

My son and his fiancée booked the Elgin for their wedding reception on July 29th 2023. I have to say that I couldn’t fault one single thing. The food, atmosphere and staff were all 10 out of 10. The staff were friendly, patient and efficient. Food was brought out in a timely fashion and all the guests commented how good it was. I have never had such good food in a pub or at a wedding. We’re definitely returning when we can for dinner!

I’m a local and love coming here on a day off just to get my emails done and any reviews I need to catch up on. Staff friendly and the wines are nice and cold. Would recommend just waiting to come for food in t(e evening.

La serveuse est lente et préfère discuter avec le barman,elle fait semblant de ne pas vous voir quand vous l'appelez,vous apporte le repas presque froid,table non nettoyée...etc...à fuir!!!!!

Unfortunately very disappointing Saturday brunch. I had a good experience before few months ago but this time it was really bad. Service very slow and food arrived cold. It tasted like the food was left a long time on the counter before it was served. We had a very disappointing looking burger and one of the guest had a sausage and eggs which were very average. It is a shame as location is great but better off with a sandwiches from gail next time I am in the area.

Returned for the first time since you know what hit. So glad to see the place was busy and had lost none of its relaxed atmosphere and laid back vibe in the intervening period. Staff were welcoming, friendly and accommodating with our two young children. They even managed to find a spare chocolate brownie for my son!! Great to see the place back open and will be back soon,

Recientemente tomamos nuestras bebidas en el Elgin y no pude hablar más de lo maravilloso que era. Teníamos la habitación de arriba, que era un gran espacio, nos permitieron tocar nuestra propia música y por suerte tuvimos el bar privado. Tuvimos Hadlee host / bartend para nosotros que recomendaría para todos! Era amable, divertido y se sentía como otro compañero en la fiesta. Todos comentaron sobre la atmósfera que proyectaba.Gracias por una gran noche Hadlee y The Elgin!

Viernes 28: ¡la dama en el mostrador fue posiblemente la persona más grosera que he conocido! !Luego pedimos comida! Los huevos con tostadas vienen y estaba bien, pero mi compañero pidió tostadas sin gluten. ¡Solo esperar 20 minutos y preguntar dos veces! Cuando finalmente llegó y después de untarlo con mantequilla, la señora vino corriendo y dijo que lo siento, ¡no está libre de gluten!¡Cuando dijimos que lo dejaremos porque teníamos prisa, la señora del mostrador parecía disgustada! ¡La actitud era asquerosa!¡Nunca más volvería a dar mi dinero a este establecimiento! ¡No es culpa de los propietarios, pero necesitan controlar la actitud de su personal!

Reservamos este pub para el brunch después de las recomendaciones de amigos y el hecho de que es amigable para los buggy y tiene instalaciones para cambiar pañales. Había 4 mamás con cochecitos de bebé Ana reservamos el área del sofá para un brunch femenino de Valentina. Bonita decoración, relajado y personal amable. Cómodos sofás. Delicioso menú de brunch. Tuve las setas porcinas y frijoles borlotti en tostadas con un lado de aguacate y estaba delicioso. Definitivamente volver con amigos. Buena selección de vinos, cervezas y bebidas calientes. Opciones de leche no lácteas también y buen café. Sillas altas disponibles y fueron útiles para calentar botellas para nosotros. La única crítica que tengo es que el vestuario del bebé podría estar más limpio y donde nos sentamos notamos algunas moscas de la fruta también. De lo contrario, estuvimos muy contentos y volveremos como grupo.

Great for after work drinks, lunch or dinner meetings, large group bookings. I've booked for lots of different occasions and none have disappointed. It's just a really lovely place with super friendly helpful staff. Thanks again for another great evening! We will be back very soon.

Pero antes de salir para ir a otro lugar, pensé en preguntar si esperarían 25 minutos para tomar una bebida, a lo que respondieron que no, pero solo somos 3 y estamos ocupados. Top class Sunday lunch today in The Elgin sets the standards for all other such establishments. Roast potatoes were the best I have had in many years. These people know how to cook. Crumble afterwards home made and delicious. Buzzy atmosphere and great service.

The Elgin is a lovely local meeting place. There isn't a fireplace, but the sense of a large living room is palpable. Groups large and small can find their space, trossachs and enjoy. Food and drink are varied and interesting, and suit all tastes and occasions.

Vine aquí para tomar una copa el sábado por la noche. Muy ocupado con una pequeña fiesta privada, niños y perros, pero un ambiente agradable y acogedor y un personal amable de todos modos. La comida se veía bien y el menú era interesante, pero ya teníamos planes para comer más tarde. No había mucho más en el área que pudiéramos ver, por lo que probablemente siempre esté bastante ocupado.

Never again. Every time we come here the experience gets worse and worse, and after this evening I can say for certainty we will never come again. Save yourself the trouble and go to any of the many bars and pubs in the area: The Warrington, Priory Tavern, Wolfgang, Milk Beach, the list goes on and every single one of them is a better value, has better food, and has much better service. We've been here many times over the past year or so we have lived in the area. We've come for brunch, we have brought friends for breakfast, we have come for both cheeky and non-cheeky pints, and of course we've come just because. I'll start by saying the atmosphere is usually quite nice, which is probably why we have continued to come back despite very very poor experience. Overall, the food is decent at best but a bit overpriced. I've never had anything here that I couldn't make myself at home, but sometimes you just don't want to cook. Where this place lets itself down in in its slow, indifferent service and frequently rude staff. Take tonight for example. We come because we were out and wanted a pint and a snack. The place was as full as it usually is on a Saturday, plus there was a special event upstairs. One of the staff, a courteous and polite person, prepares us a table BUT then the couple right behind us takes it and acts like they didn't see us. We didn't want a confrontation so we just decided we'd sit somewhere else. Problem was there was nowhere else to go. Fine, we said. We eventually get another table, but after waiting quite a while for our food (we had long finished our drinks) we learned that the couple who took our table also apparently took our food and the kitchen was finally remaking it. Like, what the f---? Like yes the couple were entitled and clearly had no manners but it's up to the staff to keep track of order delivery AND address any mistakes in a timely fashion, not 45 minutes after we ordered. So then I go up to the bar because our food is still yet to be served and I figured if we ordered another drink I could gently remind them about it. Before I could even ask the server anything he tells me with all the condescension he could muster from his scrawny frame that the kitchen is now closed. Um, what? I was even holding the drink menu, and the patron right next to me had to point that out to him before he could understand it. Eventually I get to speak with someone else who was clearly a lot smarter and a lot better at customer service, and finally we get our food and... You guessed it, almost 15 minutes later, the second drinks we ordered. No apologies, no attempts to remedy our terrible dining experience. We left as soon as we could, and I counted the staff as we left. It was amazing to me that more than 5 people were working the bar for only the ground floor and yet still the service was that terrible. Glad we won't be back!

I searched TA, TimeOut and other restaurant sites for places that take reservations for breakfast/brunch in the Maida Vale or Primrose Hill area as we had a time frame to keep and settled on The Elgin. It was exactly what we were looking for. It’s got a great vibe. Very relaxed service and clientele. Big airy room with high ceilings and interesting decor. The menu is on trend without being stupidly trendy. We wanted to be there a while so started with various hot drinks and superb croissants and pain au chocolat. We then eventually ordered from the main menu. Two people ordered the bacon and egg sandwich and the other two ordered the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon and cream cheese. It was meant to be served on potato cakes but sadly they were not available so we were offered excellent toasted artisan bread instead. The food looked and tasted delicious. We ended with more coffees and hot chocolates and left happy and in no need of lunch. I will definitely return.

Leading into Christmas its very pretty with the lights upstairs. During the day it's an all day brunch. Not extensive but good easy food. Some people look to me they arrive at about 10 and still there at 4, so it must be good. Try the potato latkes with smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. The maregez sausages are tasty. Evening menu has something for everyone. Even meat eaters like the spinach and mushroom Wellington. The burgers are excellent and to me some of the best fries in London (order more on the side). If you are peckish but not starving try a selection of the starters. All delicious. I happily go back every few weeks as its very pleasant and inexpensive.

Esperienza pessima. Per un hamburger bruciato abbiamo aspettato due ore esatte e si sono dimenticati pure il dolce. Locale sporco e personale maleducato.

We came recently and ordered some wines and the cheese platter. The cheese platter came with 3 quite large pieces of cheese, though only 4 crackers. We thought this was strange as clearly 4 crackers was no where near enough for the amount of cheese served. We asked the waiter for more crackers, and instead of "yes no problems" which you would normally expect, he looked at as strangely, inspected the cheese platter as if to count the crackers, implied that actually there were enough, and then reluctantly went to the kitchen before bringing back 4 more crackers.

Popped in with a gay and a non-gay last night and we had a BLAST!

We had nice food and drinks here for my birthday. Calamari and lamb were delicious. Staff were lovely and helpful.

Invited for lunch with friends and found the place buzzing and good atmosphere. Service was absolutely fine and attentive. However the Sunday Roast came up just warm and some items pretty much cold. Difficult to make complaint when it is a treat for you. Waited a long time without any apology between main and sweet. Price for just warm meal a bit expensive. Uncomfortable seating.

We had a fantastic time at The Elgin celebrating a birthday. The room was spacious and well prepped. The staff were friendly and professional, the food excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Wholeheartedly recommend * * * * *

My wife and I have recently moved from Australia to London and we’re recommenced The Elgin by friends we were staying with. They told us about Harley the barista, who they knew from their work in Paddington and said he would give a Aussie quality coffee. We didn’t go in the day but Harley certainly gave us beer for dinner!!! He gave us tasters of all the tap beer and told us what style of beer they were. The food was great, I loved the fact they had a Vegan Wellington as a main (even though the menu didn’t say it was vegan) the staff were great at telling me what dishes I could eat.

Stopped in for a pint while walking from Abby Road to Little Venice. The staff were welcoming and clearly interested in ensuring everyone enjoyed their time there. We had a pint sitting at one of the rustic metal tables out front. I could have sat there and watched the world go by for hours. Well worth a visit.

Food, drink, service, atmosphere were all just perfect! So highly recommended — especially the ***** drinks prepared by Oscar, the amazing young bartender. Try the Espresso Martini or the Old Fashion for sure! Food so far above the typical pub fare. Our new favorite!

Nos casamos (agosto de 2019) y elegimos el Elgin como nuestro lugar de recepción. Tuvimos un grupo de 75 con una comida para compartir, bebidas, discursos y luego una fiesta. Tuvimos la noche perfecta. Todos mis invitados repetidamente dijeron que era una de las recepciones más bonitas en las que habían estado en algún tiempo y que el lugar era una gran elección. El personal trabajó rotundamente, era amable y la comida era muy buena.

We came here without previous knowledge. The place proved to be a gem in its genre. Nice service, mismatch furniture and great roast. Popular with locals, serves a variety of local beers.

Got a ton of agro vibes from the ginger bar woman after she misunderstood that we wanted to split the bill (two friends eating - not complicated). Completely out of the blue. All she had to do was re-enter the amount on the card machine. Huffing and puffing and snapping nonetheless. Never seen anything like it.

We popped in here a few times while staying at my aunties just down the road, this bar is always busy, quite loud inside and hard to get a seat due to the size, all staff are friendly and a nice atmosphere inside

This is a nice pub. Be prepared for lots of beards, lumberjack shirts and AirPods. The craft beers are excellent and the barperson was charming. I'll be back.

The Elgin is my local and I've always enjoyed my experience there. It can be a little pricey for some things but has always been worth it due to the ambiance, quality and excellent service.

Held a Quiz Night for about 40 colleagues in The Elgin's First Floor private room last night. The venue itself is fab - great decor, good vibe. The finger-food we ordered was delicious, with the smoked salmon rye crostinis receiving the only negative feedback - the bread was super hard. The fact that all the food was GF-friendly was a nice touch, even though we had alerted them to the face that we would have one celiac in the group. That really made a difference to her level of enjoyment. Really good service from super friendly bar staff, attentive to every little thing. Shout out to Cole and Adam who were our barmen for the entire night!!

I visited The Elgin with a friend for brunch today. My aim was to try their sausage sandwich, since I'd read the bread is baked on site, with sausage from The Ginger Pig. Sadly, however, the bap was a slightly dry, crumbly brioche bun, and the sausages that pocketed within it was warm but not hot. Crispy shallots were a touch of genius, but the red onion marmalade detracted from the more delicate flavour of the competing type of onion.

Jeg var på vei til Little Venice da jeg gikk forbi dette stedet. Jeg hadde aldri vært i område før og det var tilfeldig at jeg gikk inn. De fleste bord var reservert fra ca klokken 11. Men jeg kunne få et bord til da. Det var ok for meg.

Mi compañero y yo fuimos aquí para la cena del domingo ya que vivo en el área local. Ambos tuvimos que comer pollo, sin embargo, pedí el mío sin salsa debido a los requisitos dietéticos, sin embargo, cuando ambas cenas llegaron, había salsa para ambos. Mi compañero y yo tuvimos que comer la cena a horas separadas y cuando regresé, aún quedaba salsa en la mitad de la comida. Muy decepcionado ya que el personal no hizo mucho al respecto. La hospitalidad podría ser mejorada.

We had Christmas work party at The Elgin and could not have asked for a better venue. We rented the 1st floor room which was not only a great fit for a sit down dinner and mingling for a team of 68, but also beautifully decorated with lovely exposed brick walls and fairy lights. The staff were so polite and attentive all night and the food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this venue for anyone who is looking for a Christmas party venue!

The venue is a good size for private parties, but the food finger provided wasn't enough for all of the people there and there was no warning when the food was put out for people to help themselves, so many people only had one or two items to eat while others had lots.

Algunos amigos y yo reservamos una mesa para el domingo asado. Cuando llegamos nos dijeron que tenían todo en el menú. Al ordenar nuestros asados, nos dijeron que no quedaba ninguno y que solo había 2 platos principales para elegir un domingo: un comedero o un guiso de pescado. Le pedimos a la camarera que hiciera una doble verificación, lo que hizo y con una mala actitud todavía confirmó que no había asados. Nos decepcionó pero decidimos quedarnos y pedir una hamburguesa ya que ya teníamos nuestras bebidas.

Me reuní con un amigo en su casa pero llegué temprano, así que fui solo al Elgin el lunes por la noche. estaba lloviendo afuera, así que fue un alivio poder entrar. Pedí un café con leche. Este café con leche era mejor que los que hago, ¡tengo dos trabajos en los que trabajo como barista! El personal era muy amable y servicial, también me traía agua extra. Acabo de enfriarme y luego pedí romero y ajo fritos que estaban deliciosos. Me sentí muy relajado. No puedo esperar a volver, y también es un buen lugar para ir solo.

I held a big birthday party at the Elgin last night...it was fantastic.

Tried this out for Sunday Lunch, and proved "Just ok" nothing to rave about. Come on how hard is it to get a really good Sunday Roast?? Not in London W9 I'm afraid

I recently hosted a function on the second floor of the Elgin and the management and staff on the evening were exceptional. They were able to cater to what suited my night which made it a very special event indeed. Top form Elgin crew!

The roast peppers and courgettes are wonderful. They ran out of roast when we reached but the rest of the food was well made.

Kroeg met prima eten. Service was ok maar niet erg snel of oplettend. Steak is een aanrader de crispy octopus zou ik laten staan. Akoestiek maakt het een vrij luide ruimte maar dat past goed bij een kroeg.

We booked the upstairs room for a private evening party for family and friends, and were delighted. The elegant yet relaxed atmosphere upstairs, enhanced by tea lights and candles, was commented on by guests, a couple of whom said they’d like to have a party there themselves. The supper buffet went way beyond your standard pub nosh - and was appreciated by discerning foodie guests (tho the yummy mini treacle tarts were a bit hard!). And the staff were professional, friendly and very helpful. Thank you Elgin team for making our evening the special event we wanted. We’ll be back!

I booked the the upstairs private area at the Elgin for a team offsite. Good food, good coffee, and the staff were really great - very friendly and helpful in getting the screen and sound system set up for us.

This is a good spot for brunch. Quirky setting and very open space. It's very near Maida Vale tube station. I came here with a group of 4 and we were all very satisfied with the food and the service.

Es bueno para el desayuno, y más recientemente descubrí que es un buen lugar para sentarse con mi ordenador portátil y trabajar durante la semana. Tiene WiFi y sillas escondido en la esquina. La última comida que tuve allí es los huevos horneados y estaba perfectamente hecho. También me gustó el aguacate en masa fermentada que solicite con huevos escalfados encima. Estaba delicioso.

This is a nice local gastro pub with fairly simple food with a couple of surprises. The fried green tomatoes being one of them. Great service and a clean environment.

C'est un pub de quartier très fréquenté ou il faut réserver pour avoir une place... Au RC pour l'ambiance et le bruit... A l'étage pour un peu de calme... Ensuite tout les éléments d'un pub anglais y sont... Ce sera un bon moment...

He estado a todo el mundo sobre depilación lírica El Elgin, creo que debería utilizarse para posiblemente hacer su PR. Me encanta todo. El ambiente es genial, un poco crispado, y divertido, y es normalmente fácil de encontrar un lugar (aunque me temo que más gente me dicen de wondrousness, más difícil será). Hay un montón de mesas preciosa fuera a hacer algunas magníficas personas maida vale viendo. Pero incluso mejor que el ambiente son la comida y la gente. A un precio razonable, la comida absolutamente deliciosa es el orden de cada día y me encanta el estilo de tapas, comida original. Siempre es una delicia. Pero la pieza de resistencia es el personal, que son, sin excepción, excepcional. Amable, servicial, agradable y con muy buenas recomendaciones. Jo es de primera clase; de mis últimos tres visitas en casi tantas semanas, ella ha sido simplemente increíble y es una ventaja enorme a la Elgin.

Descubrimos este y estuvimos encantados de ver las carnes asadas con budín de Yorkshire y hortalizas de raíz en el amplio, variado menú. Delicioso. Buenos cócteles. Muchísimo ruido, música + clientela pero sin duda oído mucho peor! Nadie en todo borracho en un control de gente; en su mayoría, amigos y familias en este barrio agradable tener una velada o una bebida. Afortunadamente no hay televisión a todo trapo. Un buen lugar para ir! Un agradable restaurante con bat del barrio y un buen servicio de buena gente.

Na een dag in Londen kwamen we tijdens onze wandeling van de metro naar ons hotel dit aangename café tegen. We hebben hier heerlijk een van hamburger met pint genoten. Het weer was goed en de ramen stonden allen open. Bediening aardig en het ‘oude’ café ziet prachtig uit.

We have been regulars at The Elgin for many years -- great coffee, excellent food and a warm atmosphere (staff and venue). It was the obvious choice to hold our party and it didn't disappoint. We had a wonderful time with friends and many people commented on the quality of the food, the cosy venue, and the friendly service. Thanks for a great night!

The beer is good and the food is lovely. We all had Sunday roast either lamb or beef with roast potatoes, vegetables and Yorkshires. The only problem was the heating, it was freezing outside and it felt that cold inside.

Wonderful friendly staff, relaxed vibe, great aesthetic. The only proper 3rd wave coffee in Maida Vale! Miles ahead of your average pub.

Servicio completamente abominable. A la izquierda sin siquiera esperando mi plato para llegar allí. I booked the Elgin after reading previous reviews. It was excellent my clients loved it! Maybe the best coffee in London as well! Breakfast was different and really tasty! Loved it

We threw our engagement party in the upstairs private area this weekend and it was fantastic! It's a great space, and the staff were brilliant throughout - both in planning the party (music, food, balloons etc), and on the night itself. Would 100% recommend hiring the space out for a big birthday or get together, and the food boards were fantastic. Really nice touch being able to pre-order a load of drinks and have them delivered in a bath tub too!
