Stopped for lunch. Nice pub in a nice location. Pleasantly surprised by the pizza selection. Not sure what the other food was like since we all went for the various pizza selections. Very good and more than adequate portions.

A five star pub, for a five star man

Lovely pub with friendly and welcoming staff. We went on a Thursday and had pizza and a pint for £10 deal. Great food, our only comment would be, we ordered some chips as a side order and wasn't told, until the food came out, that they didnt have chips but gave us sweet potato fries instead and an extra portion as a way of saying sorry. One of our party didn't like sweet potato fries, so had to go without. Other than that, we loved the food drinks and atmosphere and look forward to returning at some point.

There were only pizzas on offer and the one I had was thin and meagre but ingredients. My fried was more satisfied with his. We were the only customers in the pub

Had Easter Sunday lunch at the Eight Bells and cannot recommend it enough. Fabulous friendly staff, very talented chef, had one of the best roast dinner we ever had!

Great music and always good vibes coming here! The chef spins a mad good pizza and the host, Teo, is fun to be around and always really helpful. It's great place to be for all ages. They have plenty of table top games inside, an old school video games console for anyone daring to beat some high scores, and a pool table running at 50p/game (a steal anywhere you go). If playing is not for you, there is always some sports playing on the telly or the big projector outside when there's a big match on. The outside area is particularly nice to be in at night, as they start the fire pit every night and you can cozy up with your mates and have a pint and a pizza around the fire. Worth coming from afar to be here 💛

Visited the Eight bells Abbotsley for a Sunday roast with the family, service was superb and the food was incredible the cauliflower cheese and stuffing balls are a must have and a big thank you to the sous chef Oliver working hard in the kitchen, service with a smile.

Second time visiting for a Sunday roast and it did not disappoint a second time round. Love the beetroot wellington and my meat loving boys were well fed with the chicken. Will definitely be returning and hopefully it won’t take us as long to get back.

Initial service quite good but nobody came to take our dessert orders. Went to order at the bar but was told the kitchen had closed. Very disappointed indeed…..

Best pub ever and the pizza is amazing

We had a soprano perroni pizza and a pulled pork foldover, both were freshly made and delicious.

Welcomed in and very helpful service for drinks outside. Good to find a village pub open on a Monday afternoon.

New pizza oven, new menu. Pizzas were absolutely delicious, with such a vast selection to choose from! The atmosphere was superb and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Strongly recommend a visit whenever you get a chance!

Absolutely amazing pub! New management is incredible very supportive & will cater to every need. Food is absolutely delicious ranging from breakfast to dinner & even Sunday dinners. Lots of events happening so make sure to keep updated through their Facebook page so you don’t miss out!

The eight bells has been taken over by new management and wow.. the food did not disappoint. All food is locally sourced and you can 100% tell the difference! We ordered the burger and the wings. The burger came with Mac and cheese and fries and the meat was cooked perfectly. The wings were the perfect size and crispyness- we ordered 20 and we would definitely get more. Cannot wait to come back and try more of what’s on this fantastic menu. Staff are kind and the garden is great.

Came here for the first time. Great vibes with other punters and the live band was a fab touch. The food was absolutely banging, 10/10 for sure. We will be back!!

Nice pub, good central location, car parking and friendly staff but improvements could be made on the food side of the business. More of a focus please on quality, menu offering (no childrens menu or even a price reduction for a smaller portion), some allergy friendly options and generally better presentation would make the food served memorable for good reasons and encourage repeat visits.

Had lunch here as we saw the pub was under new management. Great menu and portions, helpful and attentive staff. Definitely worth a visit.

Friendly country pub with a large play area for kids

No wheelchair access and not very helpful so didn't go in.

Straight forward pub grub freshly cooked. Super service. They opened for our walking group. Everyone enjoyed the Eight Bells!

We didn't eat here so can't score the evening food but can the breakfast. We stayed two nights here. Staff were very friendly, the whole venue seamed clean and tidy. I would suggest if booking a room to ask for one that doesn't back onto the courtyard drinking area as all you can hear is the people enjoying themselves while you try and sleep. Also we now know that if you are in the courtyard that you can hear every work people are saying inside the rooms. Room was ok except the bed was very creaky as was the floor. Going for a pee in the night without waking the wife appeared to be a self made scene from mission impossible to get there without making a sound. Shower head needed changing as it was leaking everywhere and sprayed a fine mist rather than shower of water. So- I would go again to eat or drink but not stay. Rooms are a bit overpriced for what they offer. In my opinion.

Great to see this village pub is open again just lets hope it stays that way! Always used to be the heart of this lovely village served good food and beer to the surrounding area. On this occasion was greeted by a somewhat unengaging/ disinterested bar person in a cropped T shirt with bare midriff showing (not very professional) however the food served was excellent.

Had a great time with friends, enjoyed a fantastic meal. Total experience was perfect

Popped in for a coffee and food on the way back from Norfolk. Poor young girl serving the bar couldn't operate the coffee machine. Eventually I got a half cup of lukewarm cappuccino and not much more in the latte glass. Cost us £7 for the displeasure ! It took ages to get them because she was also serving a large table their food. After that we didn't bother with food. Not great service or value tbh.

Eaten here twice. Good food, could be hotter but it is good solid food. Service is very friendly but can be slow. We will eat here again and it had the feel of a real village pub. Good, but not outstanding. Reasonably priced.

We really enjoyed lunch here today. It has been recently renovated and has been sympathetically achieved, whilst keeping the traditional quirks of an old country pub. The staff were fantastic, very attentive and accomodating for our three toddlers. The food was very tasty, good portions (we all want to feel full!!) and really reasonably priced. We had several different pies (done properly!) as well as the fish n chips. Also came with plenty of veg. Highly recommend!
