The Eccles Cross - JD Wetherspoon in Salford

It's a very nice and quiet place in the Eccles area and friendly too.

I didn't have food but have in the past and was great

A Beer was brought to the table, some of the lads were outside so thought it was there’s, we made it aware that we were unsure if it was for the lads outside or if it wasn’t ours, it sat there for 20 mins, I started to drink it after that point, as soon as I start to drink it the new manager comes over with her camera on and says it was for another table, implying I am a thief and that our service would be cut off if we didn’t immediately pay for it, said we were dishonest!. One of the helpful workers said it wasn’t our fault and that it was the other tables mistake. Manager created a hostile environment and made to feel like bad customers for the mistakes of others.

Mint place. My favourite time is early morning!!! Small breakfast with a coffee that can be refilled at any wetherspoons endlessly all day for under a £5er!!! Couldnt do it cheaper at home

Another nice wetherspoons, very busy and tables cleared quickly. Great prices and Perfect pancakes. We parked at Morrisons. Visited again today, parked at pay car park a few feet away. Same nice friendly, great staff place. Sadly no toilet paper in the ladies our young granddaughter was caught short, and no one was around to let them know.. The checklist on wall said the toilets were checked at 6pm but at 7pm three of the 5 toilet cubicles had zero toilet paper, sadly both I and the child, both went into two of those without.

I thought The Eccles Cross was a good pub with good food and service but I'm afraid the gents toilets were disgusting ,...the floor in the whole area of the urinals was swimming in pee!

The atmosphere varies but its got a good selection of beers and the food is great. Great service both at the bar and with food orders. The staff are friendly & always helpful. I've tried other wetherspoons and they have all been as good as the one in Eccles.

Food was cold, mash spuds was disgusting, the pudding was like cardboard it was disgusting

Closed the doors at 11pm, listed as midnight. Wasted walk to Eccles.

I had a delicious meal, lovely food and all of the Staff on duty were very friendly and welcoming to all of the group of four that I was with. We all really enjoyed our time spent there

I love the place and its location. I gave it 4 stars only because the portion of the meal has shrunk since going in every fortnight, and though you can have endless drinks, the food was the main reason for our visit. Hence why we have changed venue to a carvery restaurant and pub.

Got 4 drinks in here and a meal every time I went to the bar for a drink I never got a please or a thanks when I ordered a drink it only takes a second to say thanks from the bar staff very rude I drink in many spoons all round the UK and this one is by far the rudest staff I have come across service is shocking just at least say thank you when a customer buys a drink bring back the only school bar staff who could serve 4 people at once

The best pub in Eccles. Staff friendly and helpful. Head there for a couple of pints most evenings.

Me and my family went to celebrate a family members 21st. it was so busy but managed to find a table. we then ordered some food and drinks. was cheap however was plenty of food and the drinks were strong. would definitely recommend if you want a cheap cheap night out

It's alright used to be excellent new Manageress now you wait to long to get served to many local people been barred for stupid reasons I still go in but not as often

Walked in and out the place was disgusting most of the tables were full of dirty food plates and empty glasses tables not wiped it was bad

Today was the worst breakfast I have ever had in a witherspoon. Thin, not full slices of bacon were burnt. About a dessert spoon of beans, hash brown still frozen on the inside and served on a cold plate. I usually come for breakfast at weekends and it's spot on, but on a Thursday it was absolutely terrible!

The experience never worsens with good food fairly priced and plenty of room.

Food is not bad for a wetherspoon. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, very clean and well presented.

Great for tasty and very reasonably priced food and cheap, high quality coffee and hot chocolate. A pleasant 19th century building with many displays about local history on the walls.

We had to wait approximately thirty minutes after our food to have deserts. We even had bad looks from the staff. Table 44 21:05 on 29th June

Kid's spag bol was dry and hard, it shouldn't have even left the kitchen, sent it back and requested a fresh one. Server said it would come out the same, no apology whatsoever, received a refund. Was then given a perfectly fresh bowl of spag bol... Could the chef not be bothered making fresh food, or are they just lazy? All Staff need retraining!

lovely atmosphere, foods typical of wetherspoons but nicely played up, the only issue here are the toilets are always full of urine and stink all the time

Say the same thing every time I go spoons... How can you not love 2 pints for £3 70 and an all day brunch and beer for £6.50 it's cheaper than cooking at home! Brilliant love it

Great value for money and lots of choices, but more expensive on weekends. All-day breakfast with drinks is only £4.91. There are plenty of seats, but the place is nearly 90% full.

We eat at Eccles Cross at least twice a week. We rate highly the food, the choice of drinks, the staff, the convenient location, the reasonable prices and the location. I particularly enjoy the decaff drinks, especially decaff mocha

Some of the best staff in a pub I've experienced great for a cheap pint

Staff were confused about the order and sent out the wrong burger and refused to change it or refund the food. Really shocked! Chicken wings were burnt but didn'tcomplain, i just wanted my daughters burger fixed to what we ordered. We ended up throwing most of the food away, chicken strips were OK. After years of going there (since 2007) I would have thought they would have treated a loyal customer better. You just lost a long term and loyal customer because of terrible customer service. Definitely not going back, sad

Great value breakfast. Good bit of fuel to start the day! £3.14 when you order from the app, can't go wrong, would cost that just for a packet of bacon. Throughly pleased, quick service, and a tasty little brekkie.

Disgusted with the breakfast I had today, Toast was white don’t think it had seen a toaster, Beans had been nuked don’t know how many times throughout the morning, Eggs over fried, Bacon cold, Ash Browns and sausage nice and hot, Not happy no excuse for this to be served like that, Offered to exchange it but I declined not happy, service from bar staff delightful the young lady is always pleasant could not have asked for a better service lager lovely pint.

Awesome food, every time I have fish and chips here I ask the same question, is this the best battered fish I have ever eaten ? Light crisp batter with no sign of fat, moist fish, perfect. Friendly, professional, efficient table service from Carmen and Leon 🙂

Not really noteworthy compared to most spoons but whoever was in the kitchen Tuesday afternoon between 1.30 and 2.00 should get a pay rise. I've had a lot of spoons food over the years and this was by miles the best, cooked to perfection. Ended up also ordering couple extra small plates and a dessert which were also equally delicious

Great service and atmosphere. Always clean! Here I had one of the best cooked steaks I've ever had (I ordered medium rare and got it more on the rarer side—just how I like it!). Not sure if this is a brand-wide change, or just The Eccles Cross, but I appreciate the recent change in sausages—the taste and quality has improved immensely. Only reason not 5* is because the portion of beans during breakfast hours is very small 1–2 teaspoons at most.

Service terrible. Needs to be more organised at the bar such as a roped off queue system. Staff not the happiest.

I've been going to this Bar and Restaurant for a Number of Years now the JD Witherspoon Eccles Cross, and I have noticed that I have neither seen any trouble there, the People and staff are friendly and you can talk to them most easily. One of the most important things about anything these days is the price JD Witherspoon is in my mind one of the cheapest Bars 🍻 around and if you want a affordable day out this is the place for you, I mean £3.37 for a paint of Stella that would be £5 in Manchester or even Monton just down the Road 🛣️. To be honest I don't eat there so I'll leave that to you. All in all a pleasant place this is why I am going to give 5 Stars 🤩.
