Oh no I found another worst Restaurant the curry looked as artifical colour I am a chef my self I own a Restaurant never seen these type of curry it looks discusting even gordon Ramsey go there I don't feel like leaving comment but I had to the meat was very dry and probably frozen it didn't taste fresh no flavour very bland curry sorry guys I always visit restaurant just to experience the food And it's too greasy at your place if you want these type of food go ahead I don't have any issue. I wished they could of hire me so that I could train them to give customer good food. Maybe in future if they find good chef I try again their food

One of the best curries I've had, lots of flavour, rice was generous and naan bread was delicious. Had Lamb Korma, Mushroom Rice and Rogan Naan (which I recommend).

Place had lots of vibes and atmosphere. Maybe some background Indian music would add to it. Extensive food choices and English explanations. Enjoyed all the choices we had. Could do with smaller portions for children. They did box up any spare food. Always made sure everything was ok for us. Drum roll and decorations for birthdays. Some further training needed for staff in relation to the menu and service etiquette but on the whole very attentive.

Good food, but not labelled which curry is which so had no idea whose was whose. Delivery estimate was 7:25-7:45pm (a 65-85 minute wait time) it arrived at 8:10pm, a 100 minute wait for 2 curries, 1 rice and 1 naan. Not good.

Amazing food! A little late but well worth it and we do live in the middle of nowhere! Would never bother with anywhere else. Great every time!

Food was excellent as usual but had to wait 20 minutes for order to be ready.

Ate here earlier with my boss (He's Indian & wasn't impressed at all) Where do I start - We ordered the buffett £17.99 & Beers £5ish, reasonable enough price wise. The issue was in the quality. Beers were flat, please check your C02! Everything tasted Sugary, The Lamb Fowl we had too, had 4 pieces of lamb and 1 Potato. (Trust me, We counted) Sure it was spicy enough but the Lamb was dry, almost like it was completely cooked and added to the sauce separately. The service was friendly enough, Nothing to scream about but met expectation. The place was clean, Staff well groomed & People mostly enjoying themselves. Just a little bit of a let down on the overall quality of food.

Wow! This place never fails to disappoint! Our food was incredible, we were attended to before we even knew we wanted another drink etc. What a fabulous reception too. This should be the best Curry House in the UK. Our waiter Aboo and Christie were such great hosts. I think we'll be coming back weekly! Thanks Ali for the cheeky Tia Maria too.

You will not find an Indian restaurant which is quite as good! Relaxed yet stylish, family run, accommodating, chilled and everything you want wrapped into one perfect package. The food is excellent, a big range of different curries and accompanying dishes which are incredibly tasty and authentic. The family are wonderful and can’t do enough for you, birthday hats and drums, complimentary shots, complimentary dishes, fast service, the works! I have eaten at many, many Indian restaurants and this is by far my favourite. All I ask for, every year, on my birthday is a trip here.

I last came here about a year ago and had a vegetarian meal that was frankly not good. I decided to give it another try ordering a Tandoori vegetarian dish but was again very disappointed. There was very little Tandoori taste, in fact it was more like an English meal, with a couple of designer streaks of tomato ketchup and English mustard down the side of the plate. Having just returned from a short break in Windsor where there was a genuine vegetarian Indian restaurant that served the most fantastic range of curries this is just not acceptable to me. This will be my last visit.

worst madras I've had from eastern eye. until recently ordered every week. I'm gutted as it's now a treat and it was awful

Ordered 3 portions of rice but only received the one, however these were delivered quickly after ringing up and the food was lovely!

Got the wrong food tryed to call and no answer

After waiting over an hour we rang the restuarant. They had received the order but were to ring back to let us know where it was at. Another 20 minutes passed, we had to ring them again. They sent another order out. Not worth the money.

Great delivery time, but not all of the food was to my taste. I usually love Balti but this one had a strange flavour that I didn’t enjoy and the chicken was quite dry on texture. The mixed grill was ok but nothing to shout home about with little flavour and again with a dry texture. The best bit was the Poppadoms and Naan bread which were both excellent, so overall about a 3 out of 5 for me which is a surprise as with the recent rating of best Indian in the south west I was expecting more.

Only fault was our table was too small for 4.

As we are not local, we took the recommendation of a friend to visit, and we were not disappointed. We didn't book in advance, but we were seated straight away. A fantastic choice of dishes on the menu, wonderful service and when the food arrived, everything tasted amazing! Portion sizes were generous, and the flavours were sublime! Highly recommend. Went for my son's birthday tonight, onion bhaji's were crispy and tasteless, 2 main chicken dishes were barely edible,as the chicken was so dry. Very disappointed.

Lamb in madras was tough.ordered for 7.10 pm delivered at 6.08pm had to reheat as waiting for friend. This is third time this has happened. Not sure if it’s just eat or eastern eye

Service terrible food not much better. Will not be returning anytime soon. Seems you get good service if you are a regular. When eventually asked did we want desert or coffee’s, ordered a bailey’s next thing without asking bill arrived. 20-30 minute later when asked where coffee was they had completely forgot. But just a culmination of bad service throughout the night.

Perfect evening. Attentive staff, superb food. Looking forward to returning soon.

We are tourists to the area. It had started to rain and kyboshed our plans to BBQ. We called in on spec and we're welcomed. The staff are fantastic and check on you regularly that you are ok. The food was served timely giving you a chance to have a chat and let your starters and poppadoms to settle. The mains are an excellent portion and came with a sample of another curry on the side. Can't fault it at all. Good choice for a curry.

Great buffet on Tuesdays but great food any night.

over an hour late, to then be told after ringing the restaurant twice, that they hadn't even sent the order to the kitchen.

Sadly the onion bhajee were dry and tasted as they had been reheated! The rest of the food was lovely so it was such a shame!

Pricey on the buffet night. But then u get a good selection of food. Its a hard one to work out where to go for a buffet night. Good for a change but will stick to the other one

This place is awesome. To start with they have the best tamarin sauce for their Poppadoms. Hot and sweet and so so yummy. The naan is always freshly made and delicious. Then on to the buffet. So much choice always hot and super tasty. The staff are friendly and the place is always clean. I always eat to much and feel so full.

Wonderful tasty food, and excellent service! Would highly recommend, we mentioned it was my partners birthday, they came out with drums and sang happy birthday, and gave us complementary shots, a really fun birthday celebration. 😊

I chose chicken balti. The chicken was rock hard and the sauce didn't resemble any balti I have ever had, which is a lot as I am from Birmingham and have one almost every week.

Absolutely amazing place, we have come back after 7 years for our birthday celebrations and can't rate it highly enough. Food and drink is amazing and the extra the fabulous staff come and sing happy birthday and then add the lovely touch of a framed photo for the moment, definitely above and beyond!

Delivery took a long time, food wasn’t great. Naan breads were undercooked and stodgy. Chicken in the curry was dry inside. Chicken tikka pieces that were by then selves were also very dry and tasteless, won’t be using again

Definitely recommend! Service was fast , food was hot and very tasty! Staff were friendly ! What more do you need! Tikka masala and garlic naan were amazing !

To be honest food isnt good there most recent place i have been to Orpington for indian meal The Taj indian restaurant but i can tell you they offer banquet night for £15.95 food is fantastic better than eastern eye its your choice where you would like to eat but its not same as eastern eye

Visited 27/6/24 with a group of friends. We went there on a recommendation and we were not disappointed. Superb food and service. Complimentary liquors at the end and the rapport with the staff was exemplary. They certainly go to town when there's a birthday diner... drums, the lot. Definitely recommend if you are in the area. 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️

Starter was nice however the chicken in the shaslick was not cooked and I had to throw it in the bin

Waiting staff need training, vegetable biryani was awful. Such a shame to see it go down hill, this place used to be great.

Went back this Saturday I had jamaden very sweet and my wife had butter chicken same again she found it was sweet I like said food amazing we couldn’t eat it due sweetness I don’t leave nothing on my plate ,when it came to table to be cleaned we must had owner he was not happy we not eating are food down to us ordering wrong order it was bit of putting to feel I was on fire line due to didn’t clean my plate when I didn’t drink samboka compliments drink that was a issue Maybe they should ask or even free coffee instead there is thing called car to drive to these restaurants so free sprits not always good thing if your driver , we may not return after this episode

Has to be one of the best restaurant experiences in the UK now.

Everything was obviously cooked well in advance and so the meat was quite dry, the bhaji was chewy and not crispy. The Naan bread was anemic and barely cooked. we won't be rushing back.

Came here yesterday evening for the all you can eat... Not much really to say.. Other than the food was very average.. Not a lot to pick from.. And naan selection wasn't as good as the naz buffet across the road...

Order was placed at 7:45, Waited almost 3 hours from placement of order for a local delivery - not acceptable.

We really enjoy coming to Eastern Eye . The service is great ( even when it is really busy) and the food is delicious-and there are nice little touches that make it special- hot towels after your food , a few slices of orange to cleanse the palate , often a complimentary drink. Highly recommended!

Good food, lots of options in alacarte as well as buffet. But the staff is even more impressive, provided great service with a smile. Will definitely visit soon.

Nice experience, nice food and fairly quick service for a busy restaurant. Only issue is its quite noisy. Lots of echo plus celebrations with added staff drumming and strumming of happy birthday or whatever. Great place for a cheery group/family celebration.

This is one of our local restaurants and I’ve been here 4 times in 2 months, 3 times were with work for Christmas and retirement parties and then with a group of friends. The service is always efficient and the staff are very friendly. Always have Poppadums and get plenty of dips and chutney to go with it. I always have the chicken Dupiaza which is not on the menu anymore but they always make it for me. They give you a complimentary side dish of chicken Royale which is really nice. Then afterwards the ladies get a free shot of tia Maria and the men get sambucca. If in a group they will often leave the bottle on the table for you as well. The atmosphere is always great and often they will have a special entertainment night with singers. Definitely recommend for a good night out.

I chose this restaurant to go to on Valentines Day with my husband to celebrate our 26th Wedding Anniversary, as we usually frequent a similar local establishment but I wanted to try this one as it appeared to be suitable for me. I have a bad dairy allergy and also do not eat meat, and on the website it states to inform the waiter if you have an allergy. My husband telephoned the restaurant prior to our visit to ensure that they could cater for our needs and he was reassured there would be no problem, and on the website page it also states " we will endeavor to fulfill your request". On arrival the restaurant looked lovely, it was decorated with red heart balloons and rose petals on the table. The waiter approached our table and handed us our menus, but never offered us any drinks whilst we chose our food.On his return I immediately told him I had a severe dairy allergy and did not eat meat or fish and would this be a problem for them. His response to me was, "well what curry do you normally eat?" Not quite the response I would have expected, so I asked him if he could ensure my meal did not have any dairy in it, I was then told the ingredients were listed, which is true, but surely butter/yogurt/cream could be omitted from a dish if I chose. I started to feel uncomfortable like I was being a nuisance so I asked the waiter if I could have a Mushroom and pea Madras, as I know this is safe for me to eat. The waiter promptly replied that it was not listed on the menu. I felt really awkward so just quickly chose a regular vegetable biryani, my husband chose a regular non meat item off of the menu without issue. We had to ask if we could order starters as well which is rather unusual as these are the first things that are normally ordered. Our papadums were delivered to our table and my husband had to ask if we could order a drink. In a timely manner our food was delivered to the table, the main course, so my husband asked where our starters were, and the young man who bought our food out said he would go and find out. He bought our starters to the table and we had no option but to eat them with the main course. When the food was bought to the table there was a dish that we didn't recognise so we asked what it was, to be told it was a complimentary CHICKEN curry, (not really appropriate when it was made clear we do not eat meat) I must say the food was very tasty, hot and plentiful When I went to pay we did inform the young lady when asked how everything was, that it was a very uncomfortable experience for us do to the unhelpful waiter. Sadly although the food was lovely we will not return there again, due to the waiter making me feel so awkward If you have allergies or are vegan, Im not sure this would be the restaurant for you, as the waiter was unprepared to be helpful.

Absolutely fantastic night at the eastern eye restaurant for valentines night. Everything was amazing, live music, delicious food We got so many extra treats too, a rose, heart balloon, chocolates extra's side dish to try and 2 shots at the end of the meal. We had the best time and the staff are so friendly. It’s ashame we are only able to go here when we are on holiday. Will be back next time we visit Devon. Thank you so much for a perfect night out.

Ordered a madras which was more like a massala. The chicken was dry and the normal chicken curry had no flavor....

Truly amazing venue, the staff are amazing, the food is amazing and the atmosphere is buzzing. The Eastern Eye Newton Abbot has always been the place to go above all others. Thank you for helping to make my daughters 16th birthday amazing. You rock guys
