The Eagle And Child in Wigan

Lovely local pub - everyone is really friendly. It’s great that dogs are welcome and they do weekly quizzes and monthly bingo. The live music artists have been belters! Good venue for parties and events. Haydock park racecourse is a short 5 min walk away. Coach parties welcome. They have a defib for the community - well done!

This was my first time visit to the eagle and child and the locals informed our party about a short cut to the races (7 min walk). The pub has a good vibe and it comes across as a community pub. The staff were helpful and friendly. There was loads of drink offers. Our race party was only having a couple of drinks then moving on but we got comfortable and mixed with the friendly locals. The pub also is dog and family friendly, lots of water bowls for the dogs.

This is a nice little out of town pub that we go to when walking the dogs in Ashton Heath. It’s a great place to stop and get a few (and a few more) refreshments. They allow dogs in, provide them water and even sell little dog treat bags. It’s become my local, I live close by and feel really welcome. Would defo recommend! Ps: good drinks deals too
