The food is always nice here ,good service pleasant surroundings , very reasonable prices. I would recommend booking a table before arriving, it can get busy, but definitely worth a visit.

Popped into this lovely little cafe for the first time while my dog was at the groomers round the corner. I had the Secret Garden Brunch which was absolutely delicious and the staff were so cheerful and friendly. Will definitely return!

Went in with mum and the lady put mum's wheelchair in a safe place, quite busy because it was half term but the nice lady cleaned a table for us 😊

Just had Veggie Breakfast, Cappuccino and Carrot Cake. All perfect, delicious, and delivered with a smile. If you've not been before, you will not be disappointed. Fab!!

I called in yesterday morning for a catch up with my brother. The food and drinks were spot on and the staff were even better. They were genuinely friendly, if I lived locally it would be a very regular visit but will definitely be back.

First time visiting this lounge while I was in the area. Staff lovely and friendly, the food was very nice (small breakfast and mocha latte), the menu selection was really good and the interior was very nicely decorated and clean. Would definitely come again next time I was in the area 😊

Called in for a breakfast Friday morning and was not disappointed. Really freindly staff and a cracking breakfast. Swapped my tomato out for some extra mushrooms without a fuss and gave the dog a biscuit. Can't fault the place hope to be back soon Thank you

Amazing breakfast, just had a takeaway full breakfast and I can say it was the best I have had in the uk , eggs were perfect , sausages and bacon delicious and service was second to none.

Called in today by chance while my partners car was having its mot at Autoweld. I had a delicious sausage and bacon barm while my partner had a bacon balm and 2 lovely cups of cappuccino. Excellent value for money, with lots of choice on the menu. Will definitely call in again.

A group of 15 of us enjoyed afternoon tea, which was great value @ £11.95 . We were given a small cup of mushroom soup to start, then 2 dainty sandwiches with a smal dish of salad, a small scone with jam and clotted cream, followed by 3 dainty cakes. With a hot drink of your choice.

Very nice cafe, clean and friendly :) we called just for coffee and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. A gem of a place and well worth the visit.

Went for a late breakfast last week, this really is a lovely place to visit, have driven past thousands of times and never been in. We are back again tomorrow for lunch, looking forward to sampling the lunch menu.

Called in for a coffee and cake and so pleased the cafe is dog friendly. Staff are very pleasant and even ran up the road as I had forgotten my phone. Coffee was excellent as was my piece of carrot cake with a lovely topping. Very pleasant place

We popped in here for a quick bite whilst driving from Scotland to Tonbridge. The staff were lovely, the food was tasty and the little trinkets were a homely touch! Such a great little cafe definitely somewhere I would stop again if I ever get the chance!

Called in for breakfast one saturday morning, it's quite dificult to find this place no wonder nit's called the Secret garden. Unfortunately parking is a bit of a problem in Standish and as they are on the main street that can be a bit of a bind. The staff were lovely, the coffe was great and the cooked breakfast was delicious (and HOT!.... are you listening Alberts???). Sadly the decor of the place lets the side down a bit - with some imagination this place could be outstanding.....it just needs making cosier and it would tick all the boxes. Well worth the visit, and we would be happy to return.

Very good for service and good quality food

I was on my way south down the A49 heading for Shropshire & avoiding the motorways when I saw this place with a parking space close by. I stopped and I was not disappointed, far from it. I have a lovely lunch of Greek Salad & a tea, the salad was very good, fresh & crispy & good value too. Highly recommended if you are that way.

Staying in the area we didn’t want to pay some £11 each for a buffet breakfast when we really just wanted basic tea & toast. So, looking on trip advisor we came across this place. Very nice place, I’d say room for about 20+ inside & there is a secret garden at the rear with more seating. Very pleasant female staff when we visited. Find a table, choose from the menu & order at the counter. We had a pot of tea & toast, one with bacon & one with sausage. Served in good time, hot & tasty with reasonable prices. There’s a unisex toilet also at the rear. Not the cafes fault but the only thing for a non local was that the cafe is situated on a busy main road so parking can be an issue. Travelling towards Wigan from the cafe we turned right towards the M6 motorway & found a free car park on the left about 50 metres up. Anyway would have no hesitation about going here again.

Always looking for independent gems, and called in here for a sandwich lunch. Has a good buzz and excellent simple fare and good coffee. I had a very tasty well presented barm and coffee. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and work very hard. I'll definitely be back.

We meet friends at the Secret Garden every week, sometimes twice a week and have never been disappointed!We have different combinations of the breakfast menu, Angie and her team of Kerry, Dan and Ruth always make us very welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The cheese on toast, poached egg and beans is my favourite, I concocted it myself! And if I’m really hungry , I add on a slice of bacon!!The staff are very obliging. As with any service, I feel that if there was ever something that someone was not happy with, then discussing it at the time with the dedicated team would be much more beneficial than writing negative comments. They would be more than happy to refund or cook a replacement. They also bake homemade cakes on the premises, the lemon drizzle and carrot cake are a must! But maybe to take away.Too much after eating a hearty breakfast!The atmosphere is friendly, and Angie caters for all ages, babies , toddlers and us oldies! They are dog friendly as well! We have taken our daughter’s little dog in on many occasions! I can highly recommend this quality cafe lounge to anyone, you will certainly not be disappointed!! A gem in the heart of Standish!

great food good value for the money

I must be unfortunate, not to experience the great food that others seem to get here?? This is my second time here, first wasnt great. Im affraid there wont be another. I had a cheese and pepper, onion and tomatoe pannini. There was hardly any cheese on it, no onion. It was tasteless, dry, awfull. I cant believe, how we are ripped off in this country with poor service, and overpriced simple snacks. This place, on trip advice, is very over rated.

Visited here after a hospital appointment for some Breakfast. Very friendly welcome from the staff, the cafe was busy with I presume local regulars which is always a good sign. The place was quaint and nicely decorated. Good choice on the menu and all very reasonably priced in fact I would go as far as to say excellent value. The food came and I know mine was only a full breakfast but it was very well cooked and fantastic value, my husband had the brunch which was avocado Ona toast with poached egg dressed with crispy bacon , sweet vine tomatoes and feta cheese which looked very nice and my husband said was beautifulWe just dropped in here but what a very pleasant surprise, we will be back down at the hospital a few times over the coming months so we might just be dropping back in there again.Certainly recommend a visit especially if you live or are working in the area or if like us just looking for a very good Cafe/Bistro Thank you and hope to see you again

Nice food, reasonably priced excellent service

I had never been here before, neither had my friend.We were both pleasantly surprised. Staff helpful and friendly and not pushy for us to leave, we could of chatted for hours. Good choice of food both tried the butternut squash soup which was really nice. Then I had tuna melt panini and my friend had the steak and caramelised onion bap. Too full for a cake whichall looked delicious.Would definitely return and recommend.

Visiting relations for weekend from London and popped into this amazing cafe for breakfast. By far the best breakfast I’ve had for a long time. Presentation of food and coffee just great. Good value for money too. Need more cafes like this down South!

Popped in to the Secret Garden today with a colleague as it was near to where we were working and has good reviews on TripAdvisor. Nice friendly staff and the place was clean and tidy. It was quite busy but the food came pretty quickly. There was a good choice of food on the menu and a full menu of hot coffee/teas. I had a bacon and egg barm and an espresso and both were very nice indeed. Will definitely recommend (but then it won't be so much of a secret.....)
