My wife and I visited Plymouth in August 2021 and spent 4 days here. Celtic were playing twice (Midtjylland and Hearts away). From the experience we had in the pub I must say The Eagle is the only place to go to watch Celtic in Plymouth. Quality pint and the staff keep the Heineken pint glasses in the freezer (That doesnt happen in my local). The locals made us feel very welcome and Chalky White (Total gentleman) bought us a round and welcomed us to his town. The Celtic fans were all brand new and it was a pleasure to have watched the games with them. The bar staff were also very friendly and welcoming and were happy to have a bit a chat and banter. An extra bonus is the half time food which is free. For the Midtjylland game the staff provided free hotdogs and for the hearts game it was free pieces and bacon. Hopefully I will be able to come back to Plymouth in the future and I wouldnt go anywhere else to watch Celtic.

Went here with my adult son whilst on a weekend football trip. Ignored at the bar in favour of regulars until one of these regulars called a bar lady over. Good price for two ciders so that was a result but the place is shabby and full of regulars who clearly do not welcome visitors. Loud brash and unwelcoming

Disappointed that this pub no longer does the Meerkat deal as advertised, pity really as the food was so average a BOGOF would have best suited to the average menu. Some of the food was cold although it took a while to be served and other things over cooked . Very male oriented, swear words heard on several occasions. Staff friendly Newly decorated throughout although the female toilet door lock didn’t work . Lots of high tables with stools which became uncomfortable waiting so long for the food . Left feeling disappointed unfortunately

If in plymouth this pub is a must for Celtic supporters. Very good atmosphere plays good supporters music, free pies at half time. Even although there were English games on at same time they play the Celtic games. Has now been painted green lol. Had been decorated. Very good friendly atmosphere.

At about 6:30, after roaming the Xmas lights and stalls for a while we were cold and hungry. We passed many cafes and restaurants but we had our dog with us so it had to be a pub and The Eagle was the only one we saw. It was very busy; a group of smokers outside, sport on a big screen, a small group playing bar billiards (or similar), another group playing darts. Most seemed to be regulars. Some were meeting in groups before setting 'out on the town'. There were several barmaids, who provided very polite and smiling service. The wine was good. My All day breakfast and my wife's ham eggs and chips were both huge and very tasty and all for less than £20!

Complete turnabout in these premises. Lot of surprise that it is now opening as Dino Barbers. Looks quite flamboyant but there are already a dozen similar barbershops along Mutley Plain.
