High recommended Cocktails bar and good service

We went for a family Sunday dinner and although the service was good the food was ok - we wanted a little more gravy for one of us and they charged an extra 60p maybe they should give a little bit bigger gravy boats in the first place.

Stayed for the Easter weekend. Very nice building, well decorated and spacious. Food is of a very high standard and the service was excellent. A great weekend made better by attentive staff

Had Sunday Lunch for birthday very good, place was well run, staff friendly would go again

staff are friendly and organised. beautifully renovated. Food was very good but menu gor GF limited and could be changed with dome small tweaks

Popped in for a pint caudent believe was charged 6.70 for hocktonst larger just come back from Norfolk had one there was 4.65 what a rip off we're not in London want be going again

Gorgeous bar, food really good, rooms, pillows, mattress awful 😞. If the rooms were as good as the service, staff and food would stay again in a heartbeat but unfortunately will not return

The welcome here is so warm. All they want to do is help and make your stay enjoyable.

I had forester chicken the portions were very meagre there was no cheese on the chicken it came out with no barbeque sauce on the chicken was dry and some of the chips were hard. Will not be coming back to this establishment it certainly was not VFM.

Excellent cooked breakfast, fast and friendly service (we were walk ins on the day, not guests)

Just been refurbished but by somebody with no taste, class or imagination.

Rubbish over priced cold food !! Incompetent staff with an attitude !!! Slow inept service Should have spent some of that 1-5 million on training !!! Never ever again !!!

Decent food and drink in a well-refurbished pub, but 2 1/2 hours to be served two courses was beyond the pale. The waitress tried to clear the table when people were still eating, and after we insisted that she wait until everyone was finished, she became quite surly. From being a regular haunt when visiting family in that area, it may well, unfortunately, now be one that we eschew.

Had lunch with friends midweek. It's a beautiful place, excellent food, lovely staff. Lots of gluten free options.

Despite the fact that they are just about to undergo refurbishment, the staff made you feel welcome and it was clean. Looking forward to seeing what it is like after the work has been done..

Bed was like a plank of wood. The bathroom had mold, and the hole room could do with being re decorated!

It’s a very tired old hotel with very basic rooms. Bathroom very cramped and not the cleanest. Very limited ventilation felt musty when we arrived but opening the window helped. If the hotel is 3 star I would say the rooms are only 2. We had food one night and that was really relaxed and nice. Staff are great. Lovely position on the edge of the forest with free parking.

This is one of those tired very large buildings that need a lot of work. Although the food was good including the breakfast, although we didn't get the fried bread. The staff were friendly and the pub had a relaxed atmosphere, however, this is on a main road and the traffic noise kept me awake most of the night. The beds were not the most comfortable. The room was very basic with not even a hairdryer.

Lovely old spacious homely feeling,I took my 2 children who ate everything and licked there plates and pudding bowls clean.ive never seen them do that anywhere else.There allready asking when they can come back.The service is with a friendly smile and couldn't do enough for you.Definetly will be going back.

Staff were faultless, they could not do enough. Inclusive breakfast was really good. Decor In the rooms was a bit dated. Did hear it is due for a refurbishment. With that in mind I would look forward to staying here again. Hugh Colquhoun
