Another delicious Sunday lunch at the Drumming Snipe! As a veggie there are always great options (as well as plenty of fish and meat) and the kids menu is fab. Dominica and the team are so friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend a meal there

The FINEST fish n chips, chunkiest role fried chips … and the best bill! A casual impromptu lunch out became the best dining experience in the area we’ve enjoyed in a long time! Superb service from the adroitly amiable Amy and a glass of fizz with every fish dish on the menu … and ladies, gentlemen and the full range of others, this was a magnificent menu, especially the range of fish on offer. Fish n chips is a dish so many places just get plain wrong, so expectations are never high … but this was gorgeously gourmet, served in its particular presentation; exceptional quality. So enjoyed it! Have just slept it off. Regulars at other local eateries, this first time at the delightful Drumming Snipe will pull us back in time and again I’m sure. What a discovery and only five mins from home! Be seeing you.

Lovely location and setting for a summer evening dinner. Excellent menu choice and beautifully cooked fish. Poppy, who served us, was very proficient and knowledgeable. I would thoroughly recommend.

Lovely lunch at The Drumming Snipe, made all the more enjoyable that the owners have reintroduced the lunch time menu which offers excellent value to go with the excellent food. This really is a cut above your normal pub grub (and yes above even those that all too often claim to be 'gastro' pubs, when in reality they are serving little more than the offerings of Brake (once was Brakes Brothers) wholesale suppliers). If you haven't eaten here yet do give it a try.

Lovely venue and really excellent food. The plaice and crayfish was just lovely. Really friendly and helpful staff, Amy was our waitress and was very attentive. We will be back to try the fish and fizz evening

Tasty meal, particularly the chilli squid and roast peaches. We went to celebrate our anniversary and enjoyed the food and the atmosphere get much. Great service too by Poppy, friendly and welcoming, added to the evening

First time here, ordered oysters ( which seems to be very hard to find locally and they were amazing!) and the beef roast. Portions are plentiful, food is delicious and our waitress Poppy was fantastic, telling us about all the specials they do etc, very attentive!

Had an excellent exploratory lunch today of one snack and two starters. All food is tasty and freshly prepared. Whitebait was just standard. Seared sea trout was excellent. Ham hock and chicken terrine with homemade Waldorf salad good too. Some very good wines available by the glass. Service prompt, polite and efficient. Recommend for lunch.

The Drumming snipe is always superb and today was no exception. We were looked after by poppy who was excellent, friendly,warm ,and a great sense of humour, she made us feel welcome right from the start. We all had the Sunday lunch which was excellent, all cooked to perfection, and we could have extra vegetables at no extra cost, which is a great touch For pudding we had the cheesecake with black cherries which was scrumptious 😋 Thank you again to poppy and all the team for a wonderful experience.

The Drumming Snipe can always be relied on for excellent food and service and today was no exception. Today we were served by Poppy who is such a positive bubbly and lovely girl who made our experience perfect from start to finish. We were made to feel so special and valued and she ensured that we were totally spoilt. Thank you Drumming Snipe you have done it again.

Had been here about 2 years ago and had very much enjoyed it. This time it was a special It was a special wedding anniversary and we wanted somewhere to celebrate with family. We had booked but on arrival no table had been set for us. Food and service were only ok. Biggest issue was that there was a loud pub quiz going on in the background. On top of that the restaurant area around us was used by general pub drinkers. Had read reviews so had a reasonable expectation but overall very disappointed and feel that what should have been a special meal just wasn’t and we should have gone elsewhere.

We are regular customers here and had a delightful welcome from Domenica tonight. She is a real asset to the drumming snipe . We are moving and will miss her

Went here for lunch with the family and the good points are that it is a lovely venue, the tables are not bunched together and the staff are very nice and friendly. The negative aspects are the food, my starter consisted of 4 tiny chickens wings served on a small iron tray and for the money paid thought this was taking the mickey. My main course of fish and chips was also most disappointing as not only was it small in size it was also the thinnest fillet of fish I have even been served and unable to even identify what type of fish it actually was but suspect it was a cheap fillet of pollock as it was devoid of any real flavour like cod or haddock. I have to say it is not a place I would choose to return when there are much better local options around I have been before and far prefer, overall I did not find the meal that impressive or value for money based upon what was served up and not the experience I had hoped for.

Came here for a mid week birthday lunch. A nice amount of customers for midweek because everything is so good. The service is friendly and informative and the food is delicious, seasonal and fresh. A good wine list is available and Ryan makes a killer martini. This was my first time eating out for a year. Thanks for making it so nice.

Had a roast. Was arguably the worse roast I have had in any pub. It was dry, it was chewy and was almost definitely reheated.

Lovely restaurant with great accessibility for my husband who is a wheelchair user. Poppy was very helpful and attentive. Overall a very relaxing and tasty lunch, thank you!

We visited this pub for a Sunday lunch; two adults, two teenagers. There was an excellent range for meat lovers to pescatarians to thoughtful veggie/vegan options. Charm and thought surrounded the pub in its décor and the waiters and manager could not have been more helpful or friendly. My calamari was plentiful but not piping hot on arrival, and it was replaced within five minutes with a seriously hot replacement and genuine apology. The five stars is totally apt as it ticked every box - especially when an innocent, human mistake at a busy time is rectified so swiftly and well. Really impressed - cherry on the top was our lovely waitress, Baylea, would could not have done more to make it a perfect experience. Thank you - we’ll be back!

Great food and even better service. On an exceptionally busy Mother’s Day (always a good sign) we received amazing service from Poppy who was so quick to make sure we were thoroughly enjoying our meal. Will be going again!

A very good Sunday lunch here. The beef was tasty, although one star off for one of the two slices being well done rather than medium rare as requested (the other was indeed medium rare and excellent). Plenty of veg, including crispy roasties, and more veg offered if needed. Very good friendly service from Poppy. Definitely worth a visit.

Just had Sunday lunch. Have to say probably our go to Sunday Lunch place from now on! Food nicely cooked, well presented and plentiful 👍

He went for a 3pm Sunday lunch today. Really good Sunday and lunch and burger as usual plus delicious desert. All the staff are really friendly and the whole place is welcoming to all (from young to old). Our waitress Poppy was especially good and patient with my elderly parents. We will be back again soon

We booked to go the restaurant to celebrate the life of our mum who lived in Mayford for 30 years. The meal was absolutely delicious -a roast dinner with all the trimmings. It was honestly the most scrumptious roast I have ever eaten. The pudding didn’t disappoint either -Sticky Toffee pudding. Steaming hot with an amazing butterscotch sauce. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. The cherry on top was the beautiful service given by our waitress Poppy who was very friendly and eager to help in whatever way she could.

Amazing roast with friends. Loved our server poppy who was so helpful and wonderful. She saw to everything we needed. Felt truly taken care of. Food was amazing. Will be back soon!

Disabled access locked ?? Not Good unfortunately! Noisy pub quiz blaring out in a Restaurant is ridiculous, and no mention of the event on the website. Most of our meals had been overcooked in the deep fat fryer. Having taken a long time to come . Muscles were off the menu ?? In February 🤷🏼‍♂️ . Staff were ok , but under staffed basically. No offer of extra drinks at any point. We had to go to the bar ourselves. I could easily go on about poor meals. Won’t be going back .

Just been for Sunday lunch. We all had a roast dinner and it was the best one we have had for a long time. Beautiful food, bottomless veg, potatoes, Yorkshire puddings etc. The quality of the food was fantastic, service was great. I would thoroughly recommend.

Last minute decision to try a Friday lunch from the extensive set menu. The two of us couldn't fault any one of our six choices. (Three courses each). Standard of cooking was excellent, great value and the attention from the staff was friendly and professional. Thoroughly recommend their set menu lunch. Also dog-friendly, excellent loos, spotlessly clean.

There last night (Friday). Not particularly busy. Food when it finally came was just about acceptably luke warm. No offer of a second glass of wine despite empty glasses. Service took so long that we didn’t bother with dessert. Not quite the celebratory dinner we were expecting. Sadly the second time we’ve been where, when querying the slow service, we were told staff had gone home early.

Have been to the restaurant several times. My favourite restaurant in Woking with good food at good price. Lunch menu with a glass of bubble, and a good variety of choices. Not pub food. Love the white onion soup!

Good food and excellent, friendly service from Marina. The set menu is also very good value. We’ll be back.

We visited this pub for the first time with friends at the end of a long walk. We found a table near the bar and were immediately greeted by Freya who brought some much needed water to the table for us before asking what we would like to drink. We only stayed for two rounds (and some very tasty crisps) but really enjoyed the atmosphere and excellent service. We'll be back for dinner next time! Thank you for looking after us Freya.
